—————————————————————-

We had one heck of a birthday party this morning for Mischa (in the purple top)!  It hurt every fiber of my being to get up so early because I have been sleeping in a lot after the marathon but it was 100% worth it and I just love this girl so much.  I met her 9 years ago in a spin class and we have been super close ever since.

IMG 5792

Class was 1 hour (I haven’t done a spin class that long in forever.. usually they are 45 minutes at my gym) and it was a killer workout.  Lots of hill climbing, lots of sprints and some great tunes.  I love group exercise classes.

IMG 5793

Mischa brought a basket of her favorite things to the class and she gave US presents… I know.

Her favorite lip gloss, this was like Christmas morning for me because I am so obsessed with lip gloss.  I put it on at least once an hour and even before I go to bed:)  I get addicted to things easily.  PS people ask me what type of lip gloss I usually use and I use THESE ONES (punchy is my favorite one)!

NewImage

And the sweetest Macy sent this for me and Brooke to put up in our new place.  I can’t wait!  8 days until moving day (ps mom and dad, you will still be seeing me and Brooke daily… you can’t escape us:)

My 3 month old has been super fussy, so I’ve been eliminating things from my diet to see if that helps. Hasn’t helped him yet, but I’m definitely eating healthier!

I always love to try new foods!

Reply

Both my boys we very lactose intolerant till they reached 12 months. You might try cutting out milk products. My second son was so sensitive I couldn’t even have things like biscuits, cornbread & cookies b/c they have milk products in them. Best wishes to you & your new little one. It’s very trying going through the fussiness.

Reply

Thanks for the suggestion! I actually did try that for 3ish weeks and still no change. We went back to the pediatrician and she gave me some other things to try, so hopefully something works! :)

I’d have to say that my healthiest habit right now is running with my buddies. I’m in the process of making a lot of changes to my diet. I’ve started using almond milk instead of creamer in my coffee. I’m trying to to cut down on diet soda, sweets, and my extreme dependence on great quantities of splenda. I’d love to have some new healthy products to help me on my path to healthier eating.

Hi Janae and Brooke! :)

We have switched most of our go to items like PB and bread to their natural versions. It has lowered the amount of sugar and trans fats and I am excited to get our eating back on a more healthy route. I have also mostly cut out diet drinks and will indulge in sweet tea with real sugar very moderately to get my fix.

Recently, my husband and I did a 10-day cleanse…had a few herbal/fiber supplements, but mostly it was chicken/fish, veggies, and fruit…limited grains and NO dairy (or alcohol, caffeine, sweetners, etc). In other words…EATING CLEAN! This is day one after the cleanse, and cannot think of eating any other way! Sure, I am going back to eating some dairy…love me some Greek yogurt…but I just want to have this energy of feeling healthy! It’s pretty much awesome!

This is the first time I have posted to your blog…read it daily…look forward to reading the email notification:) I encompass the love of running, and challenging myself to longer distances/obstacles/PRs….though, I also strive to keep more important things first: faith, family, friendship

Currently training for my first marathon in the fall…have had some bumps (back issues and achilles tendon)…though, still moving along!

Happy Running!

Loving greens. In smoothies, plain in salads (don’t need dressing, or just use EVOO/balsamic), in smoothies, or sauteed anytime.
That and never ever ever adding sugar to my coffee. :) haha.

My healthy habit is drinking water constantly. I go through about 10/12 refills of water a day at work which keeps me from snacking and gives me an excuse to get up from my desk to walk down the hall at least once an hour.

Reply

One of my healthiest habits is that I sleep at least 8 hours a night. Sure, I go to bed earlier than my grandma, but I think it’s important!

Reply

Great mix of stuff! Foam rolling nightly is my healthy habit.

Reply

One of my healthiest habits is water! I don’t drink anything else and I drink over a gallon a day!

Reply

My healthiest habit is avoiding evening snacks; I brush my teeth while my toddler has his bath and it keeps me (mostly) from snacking in front of the TV. Unless I’m going on a run after he’s in bed, which means I eat a small snack like raisins and string cheese to fuel my run. Otherwise, both my husband and I work to not snack in the evenings. This has helped us to lose 55 pounds (combined) together!

My healthiest habit is eating about a half a pound of kale or spinach or collard greens every day!!

Reply

Hello! And I drink a glass of warm lemon water every morning :)

Hello!

Reply

Hello! I’ve starting diligently reading labels in order to reduce sugar from my diet. Have a great day!

Reply

Hi!! I’m so jealous that you’re able to run around outside right now. It’s so stinking HOT in Georgia that just walking to the mailbox requires a shower! I have always been a bit more health-conscious than my friends and family because I’m a type 1 diabetic and I have to count carbs to determine my insulin dose; in that regard I tend to make healthier choices because I know how my body will respond if I don’t. The habit I’m trying REALLY hard to stick with is eliminating my daily diet Pepsi. So.hard.to.do!!!

Reply

Hi Janae and Brooke! My healthiest habit ( aside from running 5 days a week) is eating as much fresh produce as I can. I love fruits and summer is just the best time to have fruit every single day. Have a great weekend you two! <3
