I woke up on the complete wrong side of the bed yesterday morning. It happens. Luckily, as the day went on it got better and better because of these highlights:
1. Hayden, she is the best. Her little boy makes me laugh so hard because he is the world’s fastest crawler ever. He is pretty much a blur when he crawls because he gets going so fast.
2. Carbs upon carbs upon carbs upon carbs. Sometimes they are the best medicine. PS Brooke refuses to be in a high chair these days.. she is much too old and mature for such a thing.
3. Getting this text from Candice. Thanks for being my octopus.
4. Seeing this… Runners: What You Feel Like and What You Really Look Like.
5. A GOOD LUCK DINNER FOR JEN last night. She is off to run Grandma’s Marathon this weekend and I am so excited for her. She ran a 2:54 this last October at the St. George Marathon without very much training so I can’t wait to see what she does this Saturday after all of the hard work she has put into this training cycle. She is pretty much my idol.
6. Brooke’s highlight was being held by Rachelle and having a capri sun. Capri Suns (and orange slices) will always remind me of soccer games as a kid.
7. Hawaiian Haystacks, it has been way too long since we have been together.
8. Have you ever seen more delicious looking cookies in your life? Utah people—> These are from Smart Cookie.
9. After I put Brooke down it was time to see Edge of Tomorrow. I loved it. Like usual, I got a little too into it and my heart rate was soaring the entire movie.
10. This is definitely a highlight—> I am no longer walking like I have broken legs (I have been asked in the parking lot of the store what is wrong with me this week because I have been walking so crazy because my legs were so sore after the marathon).
11. To go along with #10… I am not injured anymore. That was a long 5 weeks.
12. My latest post-midnight activity of browsing Pinterest for way too long looking for decorating ideas for my new apartment. Who needs sleep when you can just spend that time on Pinterest.
13. Not quite a highlight but we will just count it as one of the 13! Here is my playlist from my marathon. I always speed up my songs using GarageBand so that I have fast songs to try to match my feet with as I am running. HERE is a tutorial on how to speed up songs.
–Love Runs Out by OneRepublic
–Turn Down For What by DJ Snake & Lil Jon
–Dark Horse by Katy Perry
–All I ever Wanted! by Basshunters
–Timber by Pitbull
–Can’t Hold Us by Macklemore & Ryan
–Till’ I Collapse by Eminem
–Counting Stars by One Republic
–Run the World (Girls) by Beyonce
–Shake It Out by Florence + The Machine
–Miss Jackson by Panic! At the Disco
–Turbulence by Laidback Luke and Lil Jon
–My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark by Fall Out Boy
–Pain by Jimmy Eat World
–Sweet Nothing by Calvin Harris
–300 Violin Orchestra by Jorge Quintero
–Heart of a Champion by Nelly
–Tennis Courts by Lorde
–The Distance by Cake
–Mean by Taylor Swift (I know, random but this song is kind of close to my heart;)
–Sail by AWOLNATION
–Papercut by Linkin Park
–Where’d You Go by Fort Minor (I edited this song using Garage Band too).

Anyone running Grandma’s Marathon this weekend? Has anyone done this marathon in the past? Thoughts? What is the course like?
A highlight from your Wednesday (or Thursday)?!?
Pinterest—> how often do you use it? Favorite categories on Pinterest to look through?
Where are you reading from right now? Home, work, school, some random place? (This isn’t so that I can stalk you but for some reason I am just interested to know)

Glad everything’s going well! Just out of curiosity, how do you know you aren’t injured anymore? Did you see a doctor?
Abby
Those cookies look amazing, and I may have to come to Utah just for them.
A highlight from my Wednesday–yesterday was my last day of work! I start a new job on Monday and I am excited for new beginnings!
I am reading from home!! No work today or tomorrow, so I am going to sit back, relax, and actually get to enjoy a hot mug of coffee and breakfast :)
Kattrina
Congrats on the new job – that’s awesome!!! Good luck on Monday!
Emmeline@RunForThePizza
I’m reading from the waiting room of my physio appt!
I have never used Pinterest (behind the times) but I’m in general slow to adopt most social media. Highlight from Weds, made a new friend at the gym!
Kattrina
Octopuses in your face type friends are the best!!!
I am currently reading from work – I get here extra early so read a few blogs before my day gets going. My highlight from yesterday was finally going for a four mile run after taking three weeks off for bronchitis. It was a hot run, but I enjoyed it anyway. Oh, and heading to the pool the first time this year.
I loved Capri Suns when I was a kid but now they only have weird flavors like arctic berry blast and I want just plain apple. Boo.
Miekes
Hey :) What other blogs do you read? Any similar to this masterpiece?
Kattrina
I follow a bunch of random blogs, but other healthy living blogs I like are Healthy Tipping Point, Nurse on the Run, Peanut Butter Fingers, and Running off the Reeses.
Miekes
Thanks heaps!
Ellie @ DoubleTroubleRunning
My Wednesday rocked because I’m in Oslo for work, and was able to do a run around the town last night! It is beautiful here.
I am reading ‘Empire Falls’ by Richard Russo, it’s really good but kind of sad so far.
I love pintrest for motivational quotes. The kind that say ‘Man Up, Princess’ and make you feel like you can take on the world!
Sarah
Highlights: an elderly woman was giving everyone hard candy in line at the rite aid. She told us we weren’t allowed to say “no thank you” and just take it; a little girl with curliest hair I’ve ever seen was totally cracking herself up on the subway. Both of them were adorable.
I’m currently dog sitting and am sitting in an uncomfortable chair in my kitchen because the dogs cry if I move three feet to the couch. I just learned that I would not be a very strict parent and/or dog owner lol ;)
Becky Przy
I am not running Grandma’s this year (had a baby, but I am hoping to rock the 5k;-)) but I have done it 2x’s in the past. Janae, you have to sign up for Grandma’s next year. It is not a difficult course, some rolling hills and 1 bigger hill at mile 21 (but not too bad if you are ready for it). The views are awesome. The first 9 miles lack spectators. but there is tons of support when you need it the most, the last 6 miles;-)
Kristina @ Blog About Running
I love running to Mean by Taylor Swift too. I think it’s a great running song!
I have been using the same running playlist for like 6 months now. I have tried to refresh it but I think I’ve actually just found the perfect mix for me :) It includes lots of pop songs from the 2000s, the very best time for pop songs! haha
sally @ sweat out the small stuff
I am still Pinterest abstinent! LOL! I spend way too much time on social media and the internet in general so i feel like it’s the only thing left for me to refrain from.
Highlight from yesterday was solidifying plans for date #3. It’s nice to get to know someone and make it to the 3rd date still wanting to learn more about them =)
I’m not really reading anything at the moment but the 2 books i have that i am hoping to finally read on the plane when i fly to San Francisco next month are Born to Run and memoir that’s supposed to be really funny called Let’s Pretend This Never Happened by Jenny Lawson
Rebekah
I live on pinterest. I’ve never fallen for any form of social media so hard. True story: I mostly used pinterest to plan my move to china. It was awesome.
Amy in MN
I am running Grandma’s this weekend–my first 26.2! Been training since October and I couldn’t be more ready. That stretch of road runs along Lake Superior, is pretty flat, yet winding. Weather forecast looks perfect–55 degrees for the start, party cloudy. Can’t wait. Shooting for a 3:20:00–I’ll be looking for Jen, even though I will be running in her dust cloud!
Jane
Hooray for being injury free!!!
My highlight from Wednesday was going to the farmer’s market just five blocks from my apartment. I always get a treat from one of the vendors who make delicious baked goods – hello Double Espresso Chocolate Brownie!!!
I’m not on Pinterest because I have an addictive personality and I’m going back to school soon so I thought I’d save myself from the addiction :)
I’m reading/writing from my laptop at home in my kitchen with my injured puppy(she’s confined to the kitchen with a broken shoulder :( so sad). Every morning I look forward to reading your posts to start my day over a cup of coffee.
Erica
Wednesday night highlight: caught up on the show mistresses while eating a double scoop from the local custard stand.
Michele @ paleorunningmomma
So glad to hear the injury is feeling better, you must be so relieved to have gotten passed that!
Reading from home right now eating breakfast, what I always do while I’m reading your blog :)
mary @ minutes per mile
i’m at home right now! orange slices and capri suns also remind me of my childhood days… as well as fruit roll ups and mondos. those were the best.
Emily
Ugh, I need some new music for my playlist. I never listen to the radio anymore and have no idea what the kids are listening to these days.
I use Pinteret to browse the Humor category for stupid pictures to text my husband. You know, like this one: http://pinterest.com/pin/280841726733395175/
Blaire @ Just Been Running
I look at Pinterest when I am really bored at work and my favorite page is the Women’s Fashion page and running/fitness! I also look at home decoration every now and then as well!
I am reading from work (I always read your blog first thing when I get into work on the mornings :)) in Charlotte, NC!
Happy Thursday!
Caroline
In the summer my friend’s and I would freeze capri sun pouches and then cut the tops off and eat them like slushies! They were delicious :)
Linda @running4two
Yay for walking normal again! I’m reading from work…I always like to check in with you in the morning. :-)
Runner Girl Eats
I used to loveeee Pinterest but now it’s once in a blue moon kinda thing. My highlight from yesterday was listening to the Disney singalong station at work all day…it’s impossible to be stressed while listening to Part of Your World :) I think you’re playlist is awesome. I have a few random songs that are just so relatable or full of memories that it doesn’t matter what the tempo/style is, it just gets me going!
Nicole
Reading from my cozy bed at 10.30pm in Australia, snuggled up on a chilly winters night. First thing I do on my iPad is check your blog!
Love love Pinterest and get great home decorating ideas, quotes and fashion looks.
glad you made it 13 as that’s my birthday and lucky number!
Have a fantastic day :)
Erin
Love Runs Out and My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark are two of my favorite songs to run to :) I’ll definitely have you reference your playlist next time I’m making one for a race.
Erin
have to* reference
Funfitgirl
mmmm cookies. I need to get me some of those!!
Your comment about someone asking if you were alright in the parking lot reminded me of a few weeks ago when I was doing a speed workout at the track. In between sets an older man who was walking the track came over to me and asked if I was okay, I was like “yes” and he goes “oh okay, I can just hear you gasping for air from across the track” <- oops.
Rachel @ Blonde with a Chanse
I love pinterest and use it way too much! Right now I’m reading the 3rd book in the Finding Faith series by Terri Ferran. It is so nice to be done with college and not have to read textbooks :) That marathon sounds sweet!
Sara @ LovingOnTheRun
We saw Edge of Tomorrow last weekend and I enjoyed it! It sounds like you had a ton of people around to really turn your day around!
lesb.sexy
It’s a shame you don’t have a donate button! I’d most certainly donate to this
superb blog! I suppose for now i’ll settle for bookmarking and adding your RSS feed to
my Google account. I look forward to brand new updates and will share this blog with my Facebook group.
Talk soon!
Amy
The highlight of my day so far is that I got up earlier than I needed to, so I am sitting here at home looking at blogs and drinking coffee. :)
Cassy @ On The Inside
I read from work everyday! Just don’t tell my boss that…
Alyssa @ See This Girl Run
Smart cookies are the best! There’s one right next to the theater we always go to so we always get one (ahem…or 2…Each) to take in to the movie. I love the almond one. Also I’m pretty sure their non – icing ones are better. Which I NEVER thought I would say about any cookie. And now this comment about Smart cookies is way too long :)
Lauren @ Will Run for Boston
I’ve never run Grandma’s Marathon but its definitely on my radar for the next year or two. It sounds like a great event and $85 bucks for a marathon is a pretty awesome deal! PLUS it’s in Kara Goucher’s hometown and that’s pretty awesome!
Lindsey B
I’m running grandmas half marathon this weekend, but have run the full in the past too. It’s a beautiful and FAST course. Janae, you’d totally rock the race and love the scenery. Plus, there is this place near the start in Two Harbors called Betty’s Pies and YOU TAKE A PIECE OF THEIR HOMEMADE PIE AND PUT INTO A BLENDER AND MAKE A SHAKE OUT OF IT!! Life changing and much deserved after the race!!
Renae @ MissFit Mixed Chick
That bread looks delicious.
I’m reading this from work.
The highlight of my Wednesday was volunteering at the food bank. It was fun and went by super fast.
Also, this happened a little before Wednesday but it is a highlight of the week. I became a SweatPink Ambassador!
Chrissy
Whoo hoo for Grandma’s! I am running it and couldn’t be more excited! I wish I could say I’ll see Jen, but I think I’ll only be seeing her from the back – speedy mama – good luck, Jen! I’ve heard the course is beautiful, not too hilly, except for mile 21ish. Ready to run!
A highlight for today that I’m looking forward to is running with my running store’s group run, the Summer Sizzler. I’m commenting from work…shhhhhhhh:)
By the way, Janae, you look so much like your sissy in the first pic you posted – simply a beauty (both of you)!
The Silent Assassin
Reading from the pool! Ummmm you got me hooked on cold water submersion after my long runs! A cold river would be more awesome! Stay blessed J!
Natalie @ Never Serious Blog
I’m reading from work right now (shhh!). It’s kindove my morning ritual!
Have you ever gotten a massage the day of a race? I did that for my marathon recovery in February and it made me feel like an entirely new person. I walked in the room like a 100 year old man and walked out with completely fresh legs, I swear by it!
Opposite of a highlight: I ran into TWO coyotoes on my run this morning, so I ran home terrified. Obviously I’m not much of a nature girl haha.
Sarah
Thursday highlight will be no work, a 11 mile run and packet pick up for ardura this weekend!
I’m reading from home as I lace up my shoes.
You’ve ran a lot of utah races…. What would be a good first marathon?
Hollie
You have nearly the same playlist as I do. Have you thought about adding Iggy Azalea? My recommendations are Work and change your life…no she did not sponsor me to say that….HA.
But seriously you should add them.
Flower
I’m reading from my dock on my pond and just finished feeding the mallards. It’s what I do to relax after running.
I have a self imposed ban on Pinterest right now because I just cant buy any more craft projects until I start at least one of them.
Katie @ Peace Love & Oats
oh my gosh, yes! Capri Suns will forever be a post-soccer game treat in my book. And I love, love, love the octopus quote!
Rebecca@Runningfoodbaby
I should be reading the 50+ end of semester assignments that are sitting on my desk – but I’m scrolling through my blog feed instead!
Livi
Those cookies look INSANE!! I want one!
AmandaM
I read your blog from work in the morning and evening :)
tess
Those cookies look so amazing. ::sadface::
I want gluten this morning.
Susan
Thursday highlight – looking forward to 2 hours of blissful silence/alone time in my home. Can’t tell you the last time that happened.
Reading from home.
Never been on pinterest. I’m not really a social media kind of person. Other than reading a few inspiring/entertaining blogs of course! Love your blog – your positive attitude – and your inspiration to the rest of us.
Rachel
Congratulations on the new apartment! Decorating a new place is always a blast!
Oh pinterest. My greatest frenemy. I’m pretty sure I spent enough time on it throughout college to have earned a second degree in pinning. Seriously though.
Here’s some home decor inspiration :) I love stalking lark&linen’s pinterest for decorating ideas: http://www.pinterest.com/jacquelynclark/pins/
I’m currently reading from my apartment, which I’m also redecorating because my roommate just moved out!

Lily @ Lily Runs the World
I’m reading from a house in the hills above Turin, Italy! That’s a really good idea to speed up the songs, I may have to do that.
Becky
I’m planning on running Grandma’s with a blogger turned real life friend next year as our first!!
Highlight of my Thursday is that it’s Friday eve :)
I go through waves with pinterest where I’m on it every day or go weeks without looking!
I usually read your blog at work :)
Fiona @ Get Fit Fiona
Brooke looks pretty excited about those bread sticks!
Last night I got together with a friend I haven’t seen in almost 2 years – beer and stories about his time overseas.
Ashley @ My Food N Fitness Diaries
Oh man, those cookies DO look amazing! Pack some in your suitcase for me the next time you come to AZ, k? ;)
A highlight from my Wednesday –> teaching a fun bootcamp class!! My class seemed to have a blast and were super sweaty by the end = success!
I’m reading from my living room couch!
Chelsea @ A Fit LittleOne
Love pinterest!! I’ve been obsessed with the Women’s Fashion category lately, and I easily spend hours pinning things. Although since I’m moving next summer, I’ve been thinking about pinning a bunch of things I want to get before I move, you know a check off list so I don’t forget ;)
Leah @ goodnightcheese
That octopus text is awesome, I need to remember it.
Susan
Those bread sticks look amazing! Highlight from Wednesday: celebrating 20 years since my husband took me on our first date! I am excited to see your new digs and how you end up decorating. How fun for you, Janae. Awesome!!
Lisa @ Running Out Of Wine
I love looking through Pinterest for recipes! That is pretty much where I find and save all recipes now. I’ll occasionally look at other stuff on their but my pinterest board is 99% food related:)
Megan @ The Skinny-Life
Capri sun wow does that being back memories! I didn’t realize they still made those! I use Pinterest comstantly looking for recipe ideas. You can seriously get lost in the food porn there!
Sam @ Better With Sprinkles
I probably use Pinterest for recipes more than anything else. I have so many up there!
Currently reading from my desk at home ;-)
amy
Pinterest=mainly recipes for me. Ive had an account for a few years but I just started pinning stuff about 2 months ago. Pinterest is dangerous though because of how much time I can spend on it.
I’m reading from home right now. Im trying to decide if I should get my sore body out of bed.
Those cookies look beautiful. I wish I didnt love sugar so much.
Have an awesome thursday!
Traci
I’m reading The One & Only by Emily Giffin. Love it!!
Caitlin @ Happy 'n' Hungry
A highlight from my Wednesday was pizza. Score!
I use Pinterest daily. I love it! I can browse through home and food categories for hours on end. So many great ideas!
I’m reading from work right now while I have a small break! :)
Kristen
My highlight from Wednesday was helping out at my Girlie’s school Olympics day. I got to spend almost the whole day with her and her class!
I get sucked into Pinterest for hours…. workout motivation, recipes, fashion, geek humor…
I’m reading from work while eating my lunch. I don’t take a real “lunch break” because I’d rather leave earlier in the afternoon but I will take the time to read a blog or two while I actually eat.
Katie@runningaragnar
YAY! Love me a new playlist- Glad you are walking normal again and feeling better!
Amy @ fitnessmeetsfrosting
Right now I’m using Pinterest basically every day! I’m “decorating” my house that I’m in the middle of buying :)
Heather @fitncookies
It’s like you read my mind because I need to speed up songs for my classes! I opened garageband knowing I could speed up songs but completely got lost, haha. Can’t wait to try this.
Polly @ Tasty Food Project
I now have “Turn Down for What” stuck in my head! lol
I love pinterest! I used it a lot when I was planning my wedding. There are tons of great recipes and DIY projects on there that I like as well. I also like to look at the clothes and fitness routine ideas.
kate
whhhhhhhhhhat1 your friend is running grandma’s!! I live in Duluth and ran it last year. its raining here today- hopefully the weather will straighten itself out by Saturday :)
Annie
Good morning Janae!
It’s my first day of SUMMER! I am a teacher and school let out yesterday …. NO 4:40 a.m. alarm!!! :)
I’m pretty much hooked on Pinterest. Love school stuff, inspirational stuff and humor. My sisters actually go into my “desires” board to buy my birthday and Christmas presents!
Going for a prolotherapy shot today for my piriformis muscle injury. It really works. It’s a sugar shot basically, and you can’t take anti inflamatories for 1 week before and 3 weeks after. Your body recognizes the sugar as foreign and healing takes place. I’ve had it before with awesome results. Training for Chicago and have had to do cross training this past two weeks.
Happy Summer! Good luck with the move! :)
Annie
Victoria @Smiles 'n' Snuggles
I’m reading this while at work, my students are busy relaxing after lunch and watching a Leafrog Alphabet video. It’s my ‘me’ time at work!
Katie Did What
Those cookies look amazing! And Pinterest is for sure an addiction! LOVE it! It’s so good for decorating ideas too- just try not to get toooo overwhelmed ;) There’s a lot of ideas out there! A highlight from my wednesday was having a lake day with my family :) It was so much fun!!
xo
Erin @ Girl Gone Veggie
I loved Capri Suns growing up. Brooke is so cute!
Kay
Haha that octopus text is great!
Kristin
Grandma’s is the reason I started running! We lived on the course our last year in Duluth and I convinced myself to run the half. I have been hooked ever since and use visiting my inlaws as an excuse to run the half every year. The course is beautiful as it is on the shore of Lake Superior and you couldn’t ask for better fan support once in town. Duluth is AMAZING in the summer!
Courtney
Highlight… Being with my best friend, going to a place called peacock island- an island where a ton of peacocks troll around.
Love Pinterest, but hardly use it because I don’t have internet at home. Cool to see quotes, fitness, and home design though. You should check out the houzz app for your apt :)
Reading from Berlin, Germany! Reunited with my bestest friend after four years apart… Heaven! =]
Kristen @ Glitter and Dust
Great running playlist. I have most of these songs on my iPod, but may need to add a few as well. I love the feeling of going for a run or bike ride with a new playlist.
I used Pinterest a lot when I was planning my wedding. I still use it from time to time for recipes, outfit/fashion ideas, and to save quotes that impact me.
Nothing too exciting going on today except enjoying the sunshine, going for a run, and meeting friends for dinner at my favorite Brewery! Happy Thursday!
Kate @ The Endorphin Junkie
I go on Pinterest way too much. I have the app on my phone which adds to my habit. I like women’s clothes, food and drink, home décor, and health and fitness.
Today I’m reading your blog from home…because our AC broke and I only got two hours of sleep last night and I wanted to be here when the guy came to fix it. It’s fixed now (yay!).

I reading while I wait to have my piano lesson. Yes, I practiced this week :)
So glad your injury is OVER. Let’s keep it that way ;-)

Reading from the operating room, in the middle of a long breast surgery – thank you for the entertainment ;)
I’ve weaned myself off of my Pinterest addiction, and only peruse it once or twice a week now – I’m very proud of myself ;)
So excited for you to be getting your own apartment! How fun to have a new space that’s all yours! And Brooke’s too ;)
The Hungry Runner Girl
Oh lindsey! I am so sorry you are getting surgery! Good luck and I hope everything goes perfectly!
Lindsey C
Oh my gosh!!! I forget to fully explain myself sometimes… I’m a nurse, I’m at work! Hahaha! No surgery for me today, I’ll have my boobs put back to where they were pre-kids at some point though!!
The Hungry Runner Girl
Hahhaha okay I was worried why you were commenting during your own operation;)
Nicole @Pink Elephant on Parade
Theoretical reading: “I should sit outside and read because it’s summer and really nice out!”
Reality: “Bugs, humidity, heat, now I have pit stains. Sit inside on my couch and read.”

Those cookies look amazing. They are also the best kind of medicine….sweet and a carb.
Reading today from work.
A highlight from Wednesday: I wrote my first blog post!
Liz
I have never run Grandma’s Marathon, but it sure sounds fun! Especially that darn pie milkshake!!!
Highlight from my Wednesday – it was a rest day, but I fell asleep in my yoga class. I woke myself snoring – yikes!
I love Pintrest! I look at it for a million and one things!
I read your blog from work – I get in early and it’s nice little treat to myself before getting the day going! Your Brooke reminds me of my daughter when she was little, so it’s kind of like a trip back in time. =]
Ali
I really want to run Grandma’s marathon. I’ve heard great things about it. Those cookies are the most beautiful things ever. They made me actually salivate.
Ashley
My bathroom! With two daughters, 2 and 4, it is the place I find a moment for myself to read your blog:)
The Hungry Runner Girl
Hahahah I like you a lot!
Leigha @ Minougirl
I’m reading from my Grandma’s house right now because I’m living here for a month until I can get into my new house! I’ve never actually heard of Grandma’s Marathon but I just checked it out – pretty cool!
Whitney
I’m reading this from work (shhh, don’t tell!). I LOVE Pinterest!! I always think I’ll just browse for a little bit before I fall asleep, but then I end up staying up WAY too late. We’re remodeling our house, so I like to look at the home decor inspiration too…that and all the clothes I want but can’t afford. :p
Kelly
Driving to Duluth right now after a very bumpy flight from SLC last night! So ready for 26.2 miles on my favorite road :). The weather forecast looks perfect and it feels great to be home (except I forgot what this humidity stuff was like, yuck). You should totally put this race on your bucket list.
Bethany
I’m reading at work, while eating lunch. “Love Runs Out” is one of my favorite songs right now!
Candice
Pool running with you was the highlight. No question.
I mostly look at food on Pinterest. It is dangerous.
And I’m pretty sure octopuses mate for life. Just FYI.
Amy @ Life to the Full
The Grandma’s Marathon is a big deal in MN! I hope to run it someday as it’s only 5 hours from our place. That sounds like a long time in the car as I type this out, but there just aren’t many marathons in my area! Hope the weather cooperates for all the runners.
Highlights for today —> rollerblading with my son in the jogging stroller and a play date with a good friend!
Those Smart Cookies look delicious… maybe it’s time to bake.
Sena Roberts
I am reading this
Sena Roberts
Take two on my post……
1) Reading your blog while watching last night’s Fallon and drinking a Sonic Salted Caramel Malt.
2) I saw The Fault In Our Stars today. It’s a good thing I didn’t wear mascara because I sobbed.
Carson
Til I Collapse is a classic running song, for sure!
I am reading from work… kind of. I have a clinical group for a local nursing school, so I am sitting at the hospital monitoring them right now.
Aimie C
The highlight of my Wednesday was picking my 5 1/2month old cutie up at daycare (pretty much the highlight of every day since I went back to work one month ago); I always read your blog first thing in the morning at 5:30am while feeding the baby, if not then, always on my lunch break at work; I use pinterest pretty much exclusively for random or last minute recipe ideas. Otherwise, don’t look at it much.
Have a great Thursday!
Debbie @ Deb Runs
The highlight of my Thursday was either my run with my girlfriends this morning or that I will be having Chipotle for dinner tonight! It also doesn’t hurt that it’s 4 PM and I just saw my last client of the day a little while ago.
Holly
I love “Mean” too:)
I’m so excited for your new apartment!!! Can’t wait to see how you decorate!
Julie
My one and only marathon was Grandma’s two years ago! Today I’m 35 weeks pregnant and hope to run it again sometime! It was fabulous… Totally out in the country along Lake Superior until the last five miles when you need people to cheer even louder! Good luck to your friend!
Brittney @ Sweets 'N' Greens
Yum! Those cookies look amaze. Based on you blog alone, I have decided Utah has the best desserts
Shannon
I’m reading from work. I allow your blog posts to pile up so I have something to do when I’m bored at work!
Have you ever heard the version of “Shake it Out” sung by Katharine McPhee? I love it! That was the first version I heard so I prefer it!
Katie M. in MI
I was so happy to see you talking about it, I’m running Grandma’s Marathon!! It’s my second marathon but my first time running Grandma’s! I’m really excited about it, I’ve read that it’s beautiful and pretty flat aside from one hill later on! Good luck to everyone else that’s running it!!! It should be a great day!!!!
Kelly
Yay! Thanks for new songs and I’m glad the soreness is finally going away!
Lora @ Crazy Running Girl
If the weather holds up, Grandma’s is a GREAT race!! But over the past few years… there’s been some hot ones! Hope that’s not the case this weekend!
Kari @ Running Ricig
Holy cow you have some super fast friends!!
I’m sad to say that a highlight of my day today is that I get to mow the lawn. I guess when you aren’t allowed to do something for months, even chores sound exciting.
Losing Lindy
I recently had a ton of people share a particular recipe from my pintrest…and I am assuming someone blogged about it…and all sorts of people repined it.
Katie
Thank you for sharing your marathon playlist!!!
Kelsey @ Ramblings of Change
Oh girlie – I could tell you all about Grandma’s Marathon. I was born and raised in Duluth, MN, and STILL live here! I’ve been around the marathon atmosphere for quite some time and think it is an amazing race! Last year was my first time running it, and I did the Garry Bjorklund half-marathon. It is a relatively flat course (I thought) except the infamous ‘Lemon Drop Hill’ around mile 9 or 10 (I think?). The run coming down the shore is beautiful and the energy once you are in town and getting towards the finish line is amazing! I am so happy I did it! I cheered this year for a lot of great friends. =) Any other questions, shoot them my way! =) Duluth would love to have you next year!
