Best cookies you will ever have:

1 c butter

1 c sugar

1 c packed brown sugar

2 large eggs

1tsp vanilla

2 c flour

1tsp baking soda

1 tsp baking powder

2.5 c blended oatmeal (2.5 cups before you blend)

1/2 tsp salt

12 oz chocolate chips

1 4 oz grated hershey bar

Blend oatmeal to fine powder.  Cream butter and both sugars.  Add eggs and vanilla.  Mix with flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powders and baking soda.  Add chocolate chips and grated Hershey bar.  Refrigerate dough for a few hours.  Bake at 375 until cookies are light brown on top (about 10 minutes).   These cookies are best when you make them extra big.

Straight from the source:
It’s 2.5 cups of oatmeal before the blend. Which is important because it makes the dough more dense which allows it to better retain it’s shape and thus undercooked to perfection center.

I made the cookies. Please note, the directions say 1-4oz. Hershey bar not 14 oz. like I did! I couldn’t figure out why the dough was so stiff and I read the directions again and realized I misunderstood! 14oz. is two of the BIG Hershey bars……what was I thinking! They are still very good but a little too chocolatey if that’s possible!

Reply

Hey Rebecca,
I made the cookies too. I didn’t have a Hershey bar, so I used extra chocolate chips. But the dough was crazy stiff and after refrigerating, was too stiff to work with. Sad face. :( :( :( My boyfriend kept asking if I missed a liquid or something, as we ended up having to throw most of the dough away. Shame!! Let me know if anyone figures it out!
