Our Day in Pictures.

Lots of pictures with just a few words because I am just now climbing into bed at 1 a.m. and that is 6 hours past my bedtime;)

She somehow finds my toothbrushes no matter where I hide them.

She is very proud of herself.

Trip up to SLC during Brooke’s nap for Taqueria 27 (the best tacos in Utah).

DUCK quesadillas.

IMG 1121

Pork and beef tacos with the most amazing sauces.

IMG 1122

I almost had a heart attack when I saw that my favorite almond butter was out of stock BUT luckily the shipment arrived while we were there and all was right in the world again.  TJ’s is 37 minutes away and so I just really needed my jar of goodness yesterday while we were there.

IMG 1123

I added approximately 5 more packages of chocolatey things to my cart after this picture.

Happy Mother’s Day to me;)

IMG 1124

I am now fully stocked with sweet potatoes (TJ’s has the best)…  Expect many orange meals in the upcoming posts.

The carousel wasn’t really doing it for Brooke.

IMG 1127

But the play place did.   Let’s just pretend adults are allowed in there.

IMG 1137

And of course Elmo always puts her in a good mood.

IMG 1141

The most rich dessert I have ever had in my life.  The biscoff one > nutella one.

IMG 1144

I met a new runner friend on Saturday at the race and she posted this picture to her Facebook…

How runners feel when they meet someone just as obsessed as they are with running:

Yes, yes we did.

Pretty sure she’ll become a pro hide and go seaker. Does that exist, I don’t know…but future detective?

I don’t have a lot of plans this weekend. I would like to get a moderate to long run in but we will see where time takes me. I can’t believe it’s time
to start marathon training next week.

I can’t believe how many types of nut butter you have! Crazy!!

This weekend is my last 20 mile run before my first marathon in two weeks – at the moment my feet are a sea of blisters, so I hope they cope!

And I am REALLY REALLY looking forward to this weekend because my dad, step-mum and brother are visiting us from Australia, and they arrive TODAY! Yessss!

Hope you have a good weekend too.

I usually shop for the week on Sundays, but when it has been a long day I like to eat exactly what I feel like, and then a stop at the grocery store is a necessity. Recently it has been close to a daily necessity.

Looking forward to my annual trail run with my mom on Sunday.

Reply

TJ’s is definitely my favorite grocery store, but it’s about 45 minutes away, so I usually am only able to go about twice a month. I have a Kriger really close, so that’s usually where I go. Love Brooke’s hair style!

Reply

I love TJ’s but it is super far (4+ hrs) away. So here in Canada-land I like all President’s Choice supermarkets.

I have to lead a group of girls through a 1K fun run on Sunday – then running back to my house which is about 12KM away on the river path. Might add some more KM in there to get up to 16-18K

Reply

Trader Joe’s is my favorite grocery store! We have two of them here, but both are a good 40 minutes away. I’m considering finding a boyfriend out that way so I have an excuse to go that direction more often. I’m only half kidding…

The grocery store I shop at most often is Aldi’s for the staples and then Wal-mart and Hy-Vee for everything else.

This weekend will be full of awesome weather and trail runs!

Reply

LOL glad I’m not the only one with Ideal Boyfriend Neighborhoods!

Reply

I have tried one of those nutella waffles before and … didn’t like it :( BUT I love waffles with ice cream on them!

This weekend I’ll be doing a 12-miler on Sat and then a 5K for fun on Mother’s Day.

I hope you have a great Mother’s Day!

Reply

Most of my shopping is done at TJ’s and I’m obsessed with their almond butter too! And they are always running out here as well, probably because they have the best price! Luckily I live just over a mile from it, so I can check back often! I wish they sold garbage bags and a few other household items so I wouldn’t have to go anywhere else!. I shop multiple times a week so I don’t realize how much I’m really spending on food! ;)

Happy Mother’s Day!

Runners = best friends. Absolutely! Going through a divorce is the hardest thing i have ever done. Running with friends is my therapy.

Reply

Looks like a great day!! I have to say where we are living now it is really hard to find female running friends. I am looking forward to finding some running groups when we move next month! :)

Reply

I am in the grocery stores way more often than I would like – I am always forgetting something or going through our berries/fruit/vegetables faster than I can keep up with. I really should buy more at a time I think…Trader Joe’s is definitely my favorite; the best stuff and the best prices…I love Whole Foods for the food bar and when I am in the mood to not care what I am spending.

Reply

Still can’t run more than a mile. I am planning a 40-mile bike ride though, IF it doesn’t rain all day!!

Reply

I always get the same things when I go to the grocery store, but my cart is usually 80% veggies, 5% cheese, 3% chocolate something, and 2% miscellaneous :)

I don’t really have a long run on the schedule for this weekend…I have a 10K next Saturday so I would like to fit a 5-7 miler in on Saturday or Sunday, but my weekend is kind of packed with wedding parties/Mother’s day on Sunday so we shall see if I can fit it in! If not I’ll get it on Monday or Tuesday next week!

I am looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow! I have been out of town/doing something every single weekend for the past month so I am ready to be home and relax tonight!! Happy Friday!

Reply

Gonna go for as long as I can tomorrow morning. (Hoping to hit 18k).
I’m looking forward to Mother’s Day brunch on Sunday with my kids and parents.

We have terrible weather out here and this weekend is suppose to be snowy and rainy which makes for a lot of indoor activities.

Reply

Can I just say how much it warms my heart to see how much you love your daughter? I see so many parents who seem to act like their children are a burden to them, and the babies pick up on it. Thanks for being a good example of how a mom should be.

I love Trader Joe’s! I hope your Mother’s Day goodies are delicious!

Reply

Taqueria 27 is awesome! 5 kinds of guac? Uh-brilliant!

Reply

My favorite grocery store is Whole Food’s but the one I go to the most (and can afford) is Stop & Shop. I usually go on Sunday mornings and then stop at WF’s or somewhere else during the week for last minute dinners.

Happy Mother’s Day!! :)

Reply

I’m a little amazed at all the different brands of almond/peanut butter that TJ’s has to offer! I love Fresh Market but sadly we don’t have one in my town so we always shop at Publix. We’ve gotten pretty good at just shopping once a week. It used to be several small trips each week!
This weekend I’m excited to go for a run with my friends! It has been really long since we have gotten to run together so I’m looking forward to it. Plus Mother’s Day!!

Reply

I’m looking forward to hosting a Mother’s Day brunch for my mom, my friend (her first Mother’s Day!) and my friend’s mom. My body is pretty beat so my workouts will be fairly light this weekend I think.

Reply

Haha I love that picture of Will Ferrell! I feel the same way any time I meet a runner. I’ve done 23 half marathons and my husband finally did one with me last weekend (we walked)… he has already signed up for another one and he kept telling me he finally understands the crazy and thinks nobody can understand the amaaaaazing feeling of finishing a race unless they do it. It’s like an awesome new part of our relationship :)

I have never had Biscoff. But love Nutella!

Reply

I shop at Safeway once a week for produce, and Trader Joe’s about every other week for their amazing chocolate and almond butter, and I like going there haha. Looking forward to some baking for Mother’s Day, and hopefully some time in the sun.

Reply

I go to Winco most often, I think it’s a West Coast thing. They have lots of options and dry bins, and are inexpensive.

I’m currently not training for anything, so my run will probably be 5-6 miles this weekend.

Tonight is Mother’s Day dinner with the family and tomorrow is birthday games, cocktails, and desserts with several of our couple friends = fun!

Reply

I need to go to that taco place but this is the first I’ve heard of it?!

I live right by Harmon’s and I like it but they’re SO overpriced! I buy ak mak crackers and at Harmon’s they’re $4, at Sprouts $2 and at TJ’s $1.69. I like that sprouts has bulk bins. And I like almost everything about Trader Joes. Except that it’s a half hour away!

Reply

We don’t have any fun grocery stores where I’m at because I live in the middle of nowhere, so I usually just go to WalMart once a week… :(

I’m looking forward to starting my garden (hopefully) this weekend! EEK!

I would have had a heart attack if my favorite nut butter was gone!

Reply

Trader Joe’s and Target are my two grocery stores! Target just because it is so relaxing to me, and TJ’s because I love all their amazing niche items and steal prices on produces! LOVE that place, and I’m lucky enough that they are both within a five mile radius from my house.

It’s so funny you posted about meeting new runner friends because I met one through a facebook group recently and we both figured out that we had the EXACT same time (down to the second) in the marathon we ran two months ago, and we didnt even know each other! Crazy, anyways, we are about to start training together and getting me back into shape. I’ve been slacking way too much lately but I’m ready to get back to the grind.

I’m most looking forward to Mother’s day brunch with my favorite ladies inmy family!

Reply

I would say Trader Joe’s is almost my favorite, everything in there looks delicious. I could buy it all. I also like Wegmans a lot, it’s a great grocery store!

OMG those tacos look amazing. I had taco salad for dinner Wednesday and lunch yesterday :)

I am doing a 6 mile run tomorrow morning. I am most looking forward to getting Froyo and a manicure with my little sister. :)

Reply

I meant to say *also my favorite

Reply

I think between my husband and moi we are at the grocery store minumum of once a day. Very poor planners! I also really hate two day old bananas or salad that is not completely fresh.

Taqueria 27 is Amazing! Especially the spicey margharita, yum!

20 miles on Saturday and sleeeping in on Mother’s Day. Yard work…is that supposed to be fun? Anyone who lives in Utah want to come by my house this weekend and help me plant stuff?

Reply

Trader joes is my favorite grocery store!!

Reply

Mother’s Day 10k this weekend plus lots of family time! Looking forward to the 10k since i haven’t raced that distance in over a year. Should be interesting.

If money were no object I would live at whole foods…but it’s really best that I stay away :)

Reply

I do my big grocery shopping at Market Basket- it’s a local discount chain. I’m somewhat obsessive with my grocery list. I plan out my menu based on the sales and the weather forcast and make a big list. We still run out of stuff though so I’m always stopping at Target- it’s in between my house and the gym.

Reply

This weekend is all about family for me and I really need it! We are having an extended family picnic tomorrow with all my aunts and uncles and cousins and then mothers day is all about my mom and grandma!

Reply

First, your daughter is adorable! As far as this weekend goes I am looking forward to taking my mom to brunch. Every year we go eat at this all you can eat brunch and it’s to die for. Plus, there are mimosas, and it gives me an excuse to run further :). Have a great Mother’s Day! I love your blog!

Reply

My favorite grocery store is Whole Foods…but it is not that close and too pricey for me, so it is a treat to go. I mostly go to Super Target and BJ’s, sometimes Weiss…and I go WAY more than I should…maybe 2 times a week depending on what I forget the first time I go.

Reply

Hey is that restaurant in Holladay? And your hair looks fantastic! Love it!

Reply

what?? adults aren’t supposed to climb in there? haha…I’m guilty!

and geesh, butters are expensive where you live! course, we don’t have a TraderJoes (yet!)

This weekend is all about the purging and packing of the house. ugh.

Reply

hahaha! That picture= so true! Hilarious. This week I have an 8.5 miler scheduled, and we’re at high humidity and heat compared to where we’ve been, so I’m expecting a bit of a struggle there.

Reply

Trader Joeeeeee’s all the way! Glad you got your almond butter. That’s how I feel about their sunflower seed butter. I ALWAYS have to get a jar or five if I’m there. If they’re out of stock, it’s a super sad day.

I may just take it easy this weekend to be honest. I’ve had lots of stuff going on, and I just need some chill time!

Reply

What is it with kids and toothbrushes??? Mine were like that, too.

I shop about 60% at TJ’s and 40% at Berkekey Bowl. BB has better produce and meats. And kombucha.

Reply

I am OBSESSED with TJ’s. . . is within walking distance of my job!!! That is scary!! I go almost every day!!!! LOL. I love their almond butter along with many other items!
Have a wonderful and BLESSED Mother’s Day!!!!!

Reply

I love TJ’s, but the closest is 3.5 hours away so I just have to stock up when I go!

Happy Mothers Day!!! Your hair looks bomb on the carousel. #doinitright

Love the daily dose of Brookers!

Happy weekend!

Reply

I LOVE Trader Joe’s and all of the fun things they have. I supplement them with the regular grocery store too. I go once a week to get everything for all of our meals for the week. I don’t think I could meal plan for more than 1 week at a time!

I’m most looking forward to enjoying the sun and being outside-long run of 8-10 miles and then park time and a cookout. Feels like spring/summer!

Reply

Looking forward to finally being home!

Reply

I do my basic shopping at stop and shop and then buy specifics at trader joes.
Running a 5k with friends tomorrow. Just looking forward to seeing my running peeps and testing my ankle which has been sore since my marathon on 4/27. I have only run once since then so I am chomping at the bit to run.
And that will be the highlight of my weekend although I do have plans with the fam on Sunday for Mother’s Day. :)

Reply

I LOVE that you’re still loving your power toothbrush! :)

Reply

You know it!!!!! Thank you!!!!!!! How are you?!?

I’m doing well! Just gearing up for a move to Seattle and trying to figure out my Spring & Fall racing calendar there! Please let me know if you have any suggestions! :)

Favorite grocery store: Whole Foods
* I adore Trader Joe’s but the closest one is 4 hours away:(
My best and last run for a while was a very hilly 4 miler last weekend. Just had a complete hysterectomy on Wednesday so I’ll be living vicariously through your running stories!

Reply

Favorite grocery store- TJ’s!! I go about 1x/week unless I forget something for a recipe (which happens too frequently).
This weekend I’m running in a 5K with my little cousins! They have a very informal 5K held by their after school program and all the parents jump in to run with their kids. My aunt asked if I wanted to do it, so I’ll run 4 miles there and then surprise the kiddos and run the 5K with them!

Reply

Sounds like a nice day! My favorite grocery store is Whole Foods, but that’s unfeasible to buy all my groceries at, so I shop at Sprouts market and our Kroger grocery store, which I highly dislike!

Reply

I love Sprouts! I have a TJ’s but only go there once a month maybe. I like Sprouts better for some reason. They seem to have more options available. Well, I didn’t get out for my run this morning, but I plan to on Sunday. I needed to give my foot a break today. It was hurting a little last night and I don’t want to risk re-injury.

Reply

Aren’t Trader Joe’s pepper grinders THE BEST??

Reply

I’m most looking forward to celebrating Mother’s Day with my family! My favorite grocery store is probably Aldi because their prices are so awesome, but it’s also not my favorite because they don’t always have everything I need. I wish I had a TJ’s close to me!

Reply

Omg, Brooke looks like such a big girl in that first pic!

Reply

Whenever you find that you have a lot in common with someone it’s like instant connection! Nothing better than someone who understands “you”. This weekend I am scheduled to do a 70.3 practice simulation, but have been recovering from pneumonia. Hopefully I will feel refreshed and ready to go by Sunday!

Reply

I have my first ever race tomorrow and it’s a half-marathon. I am mostly excited right now but I really hope my nerves don’t get to me tomorrow! I keep staring at the weather forecast; 42 to 55 degrees during the time I’ll be out there. I cant decide how warm to dress!! Any tips for a first race? :)

Reply

Trader Joe’s is definitely my favorite place to shop, not only is their food great but they aren’t overpriced at all. Oh man, I need to start having waffles for dessert!

Reply

Those tacos look so good! I need to visit that place – I think they opened a second location in Cottonwood Heights.

I usually get my groceries at Sprouts Farmer’s Market. I go to TJs once every couple of months (including tonight!) but usually end up buying so many treats.

No running for me this weekend – tendonitis in my foot that I’m trying to shake off so I’ll be getting re-acquainted with the elliptical.

Reply

Um, excuse me but when did Brooke become ten years old!? She looks so big in that first picture!

Reply

Definitely like TJ’s the best. Luckily, I walk by one several times a day when I walk to school for classes.
YUM, those waffles look awesome!

Reply

I love Whole Foods and Trader Joes. I only get to these about twice a month. They are both about 20 minutes away but during the week the traffic is super bad. I go to QFC the most often it is 3 blocks away.

Reply

This monday i discovered COOKIE BUTTER…i swear to god my life will never ever be the same again!

I’m racing tomorrow! EEK! I’m psyched!!

Reply

Trader joes and Costco are my staples. On a sugar detox and I could smell the nutela through my phone. I think I started shaking. Lol…
Going to do a 6 miler this weekend gearing up for a 10k following weekend and my sons first ever 5k I’m so excited for him!

Reply

I’m running the TKO Melanoma 5K tomorrow with friends. I can’t wait!

I love shopping at Wegman’s but sometimes it is just so crazy crowded that I just go to another close-by grocery store instead. If you’re ever on the east coast, go to Wegman’s. You’ll love it!

Reply

My favorite grocery store is WEGMANS! It is amazing. But I do love Trader Joe’s too!

Reply

I’ve never had duck quesadilla before but that sounds so good! I love duck!

I usually go grocery shopping at Trader Joes every other week and I go to Costco every couple months to stock on frozen fish and chicken.

Reply

I usually shop at Target and Walmart, although I HATE walmart. After driving around for a couple of hours on Wednesday looking for a very specific pizza pan (we were eating pizza that night, it was a necessity!) Walmart ended up being the only place that had it………curse you Walmart!!

I love Target though. Love it.

This weekend I have a 13 miler planned, my longest run since the beginning of the year, although I have done 12 a couple of times so it won’t be hard at all!

My weekend is already off to a good start because Sunday is mother’s day and today I had my all-time favorite salad……….chicken, fresh fruit (strawberries, pineapple, blueberries), mandarin oranges, pecans, and fat free poppyseed dressing……….you can find this at Panera. (Do they have panera out West? If they don’t, sorry to make you drool!) It is only available in the summer and I have to limit myself bc it is like $9!! But oh is it delicious! I love me some pineapple!

Have a great weekend and mother’s day!

Reply

I go to a regular grocery store (Harris Teeter) once a week. Sometimes I order groceries online and just pick them up, which saves time and I avoid buying a ton of things I don’t need!

Reply

I love Trader Joe’s and they just put one in just down the street from my house so I’m super excited. My training program has me set to do a 14-miler this Sunday which will be the furthest I have ever run so I am very excited/nervous. I am bummed I won’t be able to spend Sunday with my mom, but we’ll be able to Skype and I will see her when I’m home from school in less than 5 weeks!

Reply

Spending time with my husband. He’s taken a job in another country and leaves in a week. That’s my weekend.

I shop at the commissary but Sprouts is across the street, it’s not bad.

You definitely deserve chocolate though that dessert gave me a cavity just looking at it. Yow.

Brooke’s little headband bow thingy. So freakin’ fun.

Reply

I go grocery shopping once a week and trader joe’s is my store of choice. If I can’t find it there, I will go to a local grocery store. This weekend I have big plans of pushing my daughter in the jogging stroller as far as she will allow me to go and then head off to my sister in law’s wedding shower!

Reply

I love Trader Joes and Costco! They are the best and I spend WAY too much money on food.

I bought Sea Salt Caramel (by Haagen Daiz) yesterday. HOLY YUM. Seriously good.

Reply

Your Trader Joe’s cart looks just like mine always does! Their edamame is so good.

Also I love that you know the exact amount of minutes to TJ’s. Nothing approximate about that.

Reply

I’m obsessed with TJ’s. It’s a pain to go there though because I just wanna buy everything but, living in NYC and not having a car, that’s impossible because I wouldn’t know how to carry it all home:(

Excited about my first baseball game ever this weekend!!!

Reply

I’m loving the pics of Brooke! So adorable!
I just can’t get into the excitement over trader joes. I don’t like to go to 2 stores, and I can’t get everything I need there, so I just leave annoyed!!
I’m so excited to spend time with me family this weekend. Have a happy mothers day!

Reply

Oh my gosh, Brooke’s face in the carousel picture is too funny! So serious :)

Reply

We are limited on grocery stores in MS – but I LOVE our new Whole Foods – I go every weekend!
No long run this weekend – allergies are KILLING me.

I am looking forward to seeing my out of state family tomorrow and then spending Sunday chilling with my hubby and two daughters.

Reply

I LOVE TJs! I wish I had one closer than 2 hours away :(

This is the first weekend in 2014 that I’m NOT marathon training!! I will run a short, easy run on Saturday and then focus on doing a major spring clean of my house that got neglected these past few months! And sleep in a little too. It’s so strange to not have a long run number associated with a Saturday.

Reply

Big weekend on tap – Ironman is in 6 weeks! Saturday = 3,400m swim, 6.5hr bike, 1hr run. Sunday = 2:45 run. I will probably consume 300 salted caramel GU’s and I’m already tired.

Trader Joe’s is awesome but I bought milk chocolate covered caramels with sea salt at Whole Foods today. Swoon.

Reply

I really like going to different grocery stores so I can check out all the different things they have. When it comes to the general day-today, I’m lazy, and just go to the stop and shop by my house. I usually go once or twice a week.

I have a 6-7 mile run with a group on Saturday, and an 8 mile long run on Sunday.

I am looking forward to relaxing a little bit this weekend, the week is always go-go-go!

Reply

what perfect timing on the PB!!

Wegmans is hands down my favorite!!!! probably 1-2x a week

I may do 10 on sunday not sure yet but today i did a pace run…first and last miles slow and the middle 3 8:00-8:05 min/mi

I am looking forward to SLEEPING!!!

Reply

you should do you favorites entry from TJs

Reply

I do all of my shopping at Trader Joes (except my Silk vanilla creamer at Von’s), and I’m there at least 3-4 times a week. My husband is always flabbergasted at how many times I go to TJ’s, but I always forget something or think of something else a day later! Hoping to get in 5 miles tomorrow on the beach with the dog, if its not too crazy windy. Most looking forward to sleeping in for two days!!!! And Starbucks on the beach Sunday morning for Mother’s Day with my girls ;)

Reply

LOVE TJ’s!! And those butterscotch caramels are no joke! ;) We shop at Kroger and we are there probably every other day. At least. I’m still working on that new year’s resolution to “plan meals”….
P.S. The whole “losing my appetite & skipping a meal from running in the heat thing”, only lasted a few hours…

Reply

I love TJs but am Justin’s almond butter loyal. Happy early Mother’s day to you!

Reply

So cute and that meme was hilarious!

Reply

My favorite grocery store is probably whole foods, since it has so many fun things! But since it’s so expensive, my go-to grocery store is Trader Joe’s! I normally the big grocery trips every 2 weeks and then pick up anything we may need throughout the week at the grocery store near me !

Well, I guess it’s already the weekend… But I’m on the road this weekend, driving across the country to get home from college! My workouts are taking place in dingy hotel gyms… But hey, it’s better than nothing !

I’m looking forward for this weekend being over so I can finally be home !

Reply

I always worry when I go to Trader Joe’s that an item will be out of stock or discontinued!
