So this happened.

Tuesday morning I got up early and ran 8.5 miles (some outside ((until I felt like I am going to die from the heat)) and some on the treadmill.  Mainly easy miles and one sub 7 minute mile on the treadmill) and at one point on the run my garmin started going crazy and making all sorts of noises and switching screens because I got too much sweat on it.  Moral of the story—> don’t pour a gallon of water (or sweat) on your garmin.

When I got back from my run Sarah told me we were off to go take a boxing class.

I learned yesterday that I have even less coordination that I thought I did.

It was a blast and an experience that I don’t think I will ever get again.   I wonder if I can convince my mom to just fly Brooke on over to Thailand so we can stay for a while.. I’ll email her about it.

We each had our own private instructor ($3 for an hour class?!?!) and they were actually pretty strict.  We started off with jumping rope for 7 minutes (holy cow, that is hard) and then got to work.  My heart rate skyrocketed when we were using the punching bags.

We didn’t actually fight each other but that would have been fun.

My arms, hands and legs (from all of the kicking) will be sore until May.  This workout was no joke.

Done and ready to lie down.

Breakfast #1 (right after I got home from my run)—>  chocolate chip pumpkin bread, german pancakes and fresh fruit.

Breakfast #2——>  ridiculous amounts of fresh fruit from the side of the road.

(Sarah’s oldest daughter came and had a lesson too…  She rocked it).

Baby pineapples, I don’t know if it will be physically possible for me to live without you again.

So basically I can have a pretty amazing vacation in Thailand for around $20. It’s just getting there that I need to work on!
I need that mini pineapple!

Baby pineapples?! Sounds soo good :) I mean, are pineapples ever a bad thing though?

My boyfriend does muy thai … he goes to a class about 3x a week. When he comes home he is literally drenched in sweat so I imagine it must be a ridiculously hard workout!

I took boxing in college and LOVED it. You’re making me miss it!

I went for 15 miles yesterday, and it’s hotter out now in Raleigh (the spring finally showed up, thank God) and I am SO sore from the long workout in the spring heat. I am hurting today!

I L.O.V.E. pineapple soooo very much! It is better than candy!

I just started a 6 week exercise program that I’m already wicked sore from, but I think adding yoga and foam rolling is making me less sore…thank goodness! I’m pretty jazzed about the challenge because I’ve decided to reward myself with some Lululemon workout clothes when I complete it! I’ve never owned any Lulu gear, I’m too dang cheap, but I think it is finally time to invest in something quality, ha!

So happy to see you are having fun in Thailand! I’m totally living vicariously through you!

I’m actually a little sore from my run since I’ve been biking a bit more that running this past week with the crazy weather we’ve had. That baby pineapple is adorable!

Sounds like a great workout! :)

I have always wanted to try kickboxing! I’m jealous of the fruit situation over there. I had a friend visit Thailand recently too and she raved about the abundance of delicious fruit. As far as what I can’t live without, it’s avocado.

Ahhhhhh that baby pineapple!
I’m so glad that I’m not sore right now…. Less than 3 weeks until Boston and I’m trying to avoid being too achy and crabby (we will see how that goes!)
I used to kick box all the time and really loved it- your pictures made me nostalgic :-)

I tried a Revolutions spin class recently, which involves lots of strobe lights, top 40 music, and one very flamboyant instructor who offered a pole dancing performance on top of his instruction. It was fun, but definitely a one-time thing. Once you’ve gotten used to hour-long silent runs in the empty roads…that kind of thing is DEFINITELY overstimulation.

I’m surprisingly sore from a medium run today, but I chalk that up to it being finally warm enough in CT to run outside. These legs aren’t used to real terrain!

I don’t think I could live without eggs.

The pineapples look amazing! My shoulders are sore from planks during an awesome weight class.

Precious baby pineapples I want one!

I tried kickboxing for the first time last night. I was surprised when I woke up with sore abs! I’ve been wanting to try a spin class at my gym too, but I haven’t mad it yet.

i’m absolutely loving everything you’re doing and eating on your trip to thailand! it looks so fun…and i totally want a baby pineapple now :)

You’ve only been over there for a few days and it’s like you live there. What a FUN trip. That is pretty awesome that you and your friend did some kickboxing. I’ve never tried it but would be up for a little booty kickin’ challenge! A food that I could not live without? Definitely dungeness crab.

I need to try more “new” workouts but the last new one I remember trying was one at the gym some months ago. I tend to sadly stick to running and some strength training on my own. I try to be as efficient as possible. So glad you are having a blast!

Oh my goodness I am so sore right now from running! I love it!!! I don’t think I could go a day without fruit! I am loving it right now :) especially apples and bananas

Summertime was hard on my Garmin until I learned to lock the bezel, once locked it didn’t seem to freak out, no matter how much sweat soaked it!

Glad you are having an amazing time!

Great idea! Thank you soooo much!

I couldn’t live without chocolate. I would loveee to try a boxing class. I have been keeping an eye out for sales so I can give it a shot for cheap…I’d def give it a try for $3!

My sister and I do kickboxing classes and we love them! So much fun but they kick my butt every time. I can’t live without ice cream!

Does jumping at a trampoline gym count? Went with my friends a couple of weeks ago. I was surprised at how much it made me sweat! Not sore right now, but I’m gonna try to change that tomorrow morning.

I cannot live without pizza, popcorn and candy.

I am sore from my arm workout I did last night.

Looks like you kicked some booty!! I need to try some new types of workouts. My upper back is still sore from my HIIT workout on Saturday!! I don’t think I’d survive without sweet potatoes. I’m probably going to turn orange with you.

How neat to get to do Muy Thai boxing in Thailand — I’ve sparred some Muy Thai boxers in the past & they are no joke! And with shins like lead pipes. Could not even deal.

I’m getting into weights, HIIT and contemplating how to add yoga into my week. Thank you for keeping the posts going on your holiday, feels exciting seeing a new post.

Seriously, I’m so glad you’re having such a great time right now!
I’m not gonna lie…I wish I was there with you guys. The food looks amazing and Sarah looks like the best hostess! I’m totally planning on traveling there sometime.
Enjoy it! You deserve it!

I’ll take that as a warning about sweating all over my Garmin! I get pretty sweaty in the summer – I guess Garmin doesn’t like it!

I’m sore in my arms/back from a workout…decided it’s time to start strengthening that upper body again!

Food I couldn’t live without…peanut butter. Without a doubt.

Thats amazing. I may try doing tai chi in China while I’m here, I’m not sure how much a work-out it is.. its supposed to be more mental. I’m loving longans right now. So sweet. I’m sore from a 7 mile run on monday…

Love reading about Thailand. $3 boxing class – fantastic! I’ve been sore from running. Mainly the arches of my feet and hammys. I CAN’T live without chocolate.

No new workouts lately but I’m still sore from weights on Monday and if I had to live without Watermelon, someone would die.

I need to jump in and do more random fun things like that!

Maybe you’ll inspire me today!

I used to think I couldn’t live without chocolate but somewhere in the last five years that has been replaced with peanut butter. Can’t live without peanut butter. I need a baby pineapple – look so cute.

Reply

BABY PINEAPPLES. I’m speechless.

Reply

I take an interval boxing class at my gym once in a while, but a kickboxing class in Thailand sounds awesome! And all the fresh fruit…that just get me excited for the farmers markets to open up again.

Reply

That workout sounds intense!! Every run/exercise I get now makes me sore, but I haven’t actually tried anything new recently.

I don’t think I could live without fruit in general. It’s pretty much my primary food group. That and bread.

Reply

My roommate and I did a partner workout last night that almost killed me! It was awesome!

Reply

Boxing looks SO fun and i’ve always wanted to try it! I can’t believe the prices of everything there. OMG.

Reply

What an awesome-looking workout I bet you guys rocked it!

My legs are still sore from the 200 mile relay I participated in this past weekend in South Carolina! I hadn’t been running a ton, so 11 miles in 24 hours was a bit much for me!

Reply

I am currently completely run down and contemplating an extra rest day this week (I’m not good at this normally) but that workout sounds AMAZING!

Reply

Baby pineapples??? Whats a baby pineapple I want it.
I used to take boxing 1-2 times a week and I actually had a tiny bit of arm strength but now its gone.

Reply

Muay Thai is amazing! I don’t know that I’ve ever experienced anything else that is such a completely exhausting, exhilarating and effective workout in an hour’s time. Unfortunately there aren’t many places here that offer it without having to spend a nice chunk of change. Whenever a Groupon comes up that offers it, I always buy it to get some classes in!

Oh and baby pineapple looks like the one of the most amazing things ever.

Reply

German pancakes are the best! A childhood favorite for me. My mom used to make them every saturday morning and then my brother and I would eat them while watching the Muppet Babies.

Again I have to laugh…it’s hot and humid all the time here. Yes, running does suck like that!

I want a best friend in Thailand!

I am living through your photos and stories!

I have never tried Muai Thai but I do Krav Maga in Sandy. There is a location in PG. It is an awesome workout and you learn how to protect yourself. Win!
