My iPhone has some stories to tell you.

Brooke is now setting fashion trends all over the nation.

IMG 0219

She also said, “Brooke wore army pants and flip flops… So I wore army pants and flip flops..”  NAME THAT MOVIE!!!

Jessie and Brooke are wearing the exact same headband.  NBD.

IMG 0090

As you can tell I was way more excited about the sting rays than the children were.

The BEST BEST BEST BEST BEST Easter candy offered:

IMG 0216

(Second place goes to Cadbury mini eggs)

My sister and I have started a walkers group in the hills during nap time if anyone would like to join us.

IMG 0210

We even wear twinner jackets and make creepy faces.  Now I am sure you will want to join.

IMG 0213

(Just warning you, lots of sugar in this post)

I take screen shots on my phone of things that I see online that I must make.

I can’t think of anything better.  The best 3 things combined:

IMG 0196

Last week was just a plain old hard week.  My dad knew this and brought home my absolute favorite ice cream in the world for me on Friday night.  He is a gem.

IMG 0154

hahaha yes:

IMG 0226

Brooke found a cheetah dog at the park.  We were both confused.

IMG 9907

My mom, sister and I were going through some old photo albums.  I may have to dig up those socks to wear for my marathon.

IMG 0229

Me and the sister…  BFFs since 1986.

IMG 0231

Yep.  I usually drive to where I am going to run so I am that person running past my car a few times to get my Garmin to hit the exact mile that I set out to do.

Who took dance growing up?  What type?

FAVORITE EASTER CANDY!?!?!  Let’s keep this a friendly debate okay…  I know we are all very opinionated about this.

Do you have to end your run on the exact mile (or .25, .5)?  Or can you end on a weird number?

Where do you get all those headbands for Brooke? I bet my little girl would love them too.

Also, that last photo made me laugh so much. I did exactly that yesterday morning!! Luckily it was still dark so no neighbors saw how silly I was :)

Reply

But YAY!!!! you’re running!!!!

Reply

Swedish fish jellybeans are my favorite!!!! I need to buy some now that I think of it… I never did dance because my parents thought it was too “girly” and didn’t want to influence me at a young age. And then I refused to play soccer or basketball because I couldn’t wear a dress… I guess their strategy didn’t work very well. I did have those socks though. My mom must have thought she was being funny. Reading this made me realize it’s been way too long since I last had ice cream. I should fix that.

Reply

Those socks! I remember hating those lacy, frilly socks and was so glad when my mom stopped buying them for me!

I definitely have to end my run on the exact mile or .25 or .5. I have my routes perfectly mapped out to ensure this happens, but on the off day where I cut corners a bit too much I always end up running up and down the block to get the last bit in :)

Reply

Best Easter candy…. Reese’s eggs. No competition! That cookie cake pie…. OMG!! Can totally relate to the Garmin meme…. Been there, done that.

Reply

Love the pics! And yes, your dad is a gem :) .

Reply

I have to go with Cadbury Mini Eggs…however, I have not tried those Starbursts jelly beans so I’m not sure I can say for sure. :)

I was a baton twirler growing up. :)

I love Brooke in those headbands! Annabelle takes headbands off as soon as I put them on her :(.

Reply

MEAN GIRLS!!! :)

Who WOULDN’T want Brooke as their fashion icon?! ;)

Reply

Reeses Peanut Butter eggs are my absolute faves!

I have OCD and if I dont end on an even number, I will think about it all day long.

I took every form of dance I could when I was younger and loved all of it. Still can’t figure out why I took the classes or why my parents paid for them because I really can’t dance.

Reply

Snickers Eggs are the best Easter candy. So much better than a regular Snickers! Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs are second for me. Whoppers Robin Eggs are third. No fruit-flavored candies or gummies. Just no.

I end my runs with whatever comes up. I’m okay with it being an uneven number.

What is a cheetah dog? Did the stencil the spots on?!

Reply

I did not take dance, though I begged my family to take ballet forever, as an end result I will most likely be forcing Ella to be a ballerina until she is like 40….ok 14…well at least 4.

My favorite Easter candy is starburst jelly beans. I typically hate jelly beans but I really LOVE these ones.

I have to stop at an exact number… I’m very OCD in that way… it can’t be a .8 or.5 it has to be like 12.0…

Reply

Hahaha oh my gosh that is so funny! I ALWAYS run past my house if I haven’t hit the exact mile I want to! It’s especially frustrating after a long run and you’re exhausted, but I love how all runners are the same! The other day I did 10 miles and I got to my house at 9.9 so I had to pass it and I remember looking at it and being like “oh my gosh this is ridiculous”, but hey I kept going and got to that 10 miles ;)

Happy Hump Day! Brooke looks adorable and you look gorg as usual!! :)

Reply

I have to end on either a .00 or .50 and it has to equal my goal mileage or greater. If I get back to my car at 4.3 and my goal was 4.0 I’ll run to 4.5.
Cadbury Crème Eggs.

Reply

I took ballet. I insisted on dancing in recitals withOUT my glasses on. It went…poorly.

Favourite Easter candy is definitely Cadbury cream eggs. My husband’s family has never done an Easter egg hunt (I don’t know why, obviously they are crazy) so we’re doing one with them this year. I’m so excited, I will probably steal candy from our children.

I have been running on a treadmill for months because of our gross weather, and following a program, so I stop when it says to stop, and usually I’m just so happy to be done, I don’t care what the mileage is.

Brooke is doing nothing to talk me out of buying Toms for my 15 month old. Tell her to stop looking so adorable in them or I will have to get a pair!

Reply

Okay…I know you are going to ban me from your blog, but I hate Easter candy. (Except the chocolate bunny, because that’s chocolate, and you can’t hate chocolate.) Peeps, Cadbury eggs, jelly beans –> SO GROSS. When I was a kid, I made my mom put fruit or just standard candy in my Easter basket. No typical Easter stuff allowed!

Reply

I danced growing up too, love the socks!

Reply

I have to finish my run on a whole number (I majored in economics in college, so numbers are kind of freaky to me) or the run just isn’t complete. As for Easter candy, the malted milk eggs are so pretty sitting in a bowl and yummy.

Reply

I took ballet when I was younger, but let’s just say I’ve never been very coordinated :)
Favorite Easter candy is the Reese eggs and a pecan roll type of candy that I have not been able to find this year.
YES I have to end a run or walk on an exact mileage and I don’t understand people that stop just short of making it even!!!!
In that picture of your sister when she was younger, she looks exactly like her oldest daughter does now.
I’m sorry you had a rough week, and what a cool awesome dad to do something to lift you up! I’m so glad you have your family so close during this time!

Reply

Why wouldnt Brooke be setting fashion trends all over the country, totally understandable. I hope to be a “gem” someday for my daughter, daddy’s are suppose to know what makes their girls happy. Always great to go through old pictures, hours of fun.

Easter Candy – Mine is PEEPS, and now they have transitioned to OTHER holidays, oh yes I love them.
End My Run – I was dying laughing because just last night I had to run an extra .05 so my Garmin would hit 4.5 miles.

Robin eggs are my favorite! I took jazz and hip-hop when I was 10-12. Oh and Curly looks just like your sister did when she was little! Ohmygosh…..

Reply

That’s so funny! I run a trail and end up at my car in a parking lot…usually running around the parking lot staring at my GPS so i can end on a round number! Lol I’m sure people have wondered…parents probably grab their kids and get out of there…oh well. Good to know I’m not alone.

I too have a Starburst jelly bean adiction. I keep them in my nightstand lol. Yum-o. :-)

Hope your feeling better!

Reply

I usually like to see the exact number I was working toward, but if I’m any more than a few tenths of a mile off, I’ll just stick with the random numbers. I love the Hershey’s eggs, I’m a fan of huge chunks of pure chocolate!

Reply

I like the mini milk chocolate eggs with the rice crunch inside. Or the plain ones.

It depends on what my goal was a the start of the run. If I was running a 5 miler and got to 4.96, there’s no way I would stop. But if I went out for a 4 miler, I might be able to stop at 4.96!

Reply

I took jazz, tap, hip hop, and lyrical from teeny tiny until I was 18. I have a LOT of embarrassing costumes in the back of my closet ;)

I do that all the time with my runs, last week I ran back and forth 5 times over the same stretch of trail to make it hit 7 miles before I went home!

Reply

Is butter a carb?? Yes.

Someone better agree robin’s eggs are amaze!! Also reeses eggs and Cadbury eggs. Also those giant eggs you can buy with different fillings and you cut off slices of them

Reply

Robin’s Eggs are by far my favorite Easter candy. Followed by Reese’s Eggs. Why are they SO much better than regular Whoppers and Reese’s?

Reply

what a little fashionista you have there :)

Cadbury eggs are the bomb, I don’t think I can pick a favorite easter candy but they are definitely way up there. Now I can’t stop thinking about easter chocolate!

Reply

Best Easter Candy: Sweet Tart Jellybeans. They are amazing. I stock up and try to make them last as long as possible every year :)

I have to end on an exact quarter mile (.25, .5, .75, .0) or I keep running in circles. One run left me with lots of circles outside of my house. My neighbor actually came outside to check on me because she thought something was wrong and I was signaling her through the window!

Reply

Favorite easter candy is definitely snickers eggs and starburst jelly beans!

OMG! Your sister’s oldest daughter looks exactly like her. I though that was her holding you in the picture. Too cute!! :)

Reply

I hate ending runs on a weird number especially when it’s staring me in the face on the treadmill. My favorite easter candy is probably those starburst jelly beans followed by russel stover marshmallow and chocolate bunnies.

Reply

I have to end on an even number or I’ll go insane!!!! (have you tried the Sweet Tart Jelly Beans???? They are pretty darn amazing too!!!!)

Reply

Of course Easter PB M&Ms eggs. I had to think for a minute. Those are my fave.

Unless I’m tired, I end on a solid quarter mile. .25,.5,.75. If I’m over .75, I go for an even mile. Just like at the gas pump :)

Reply

Wow Gold Medal Ribbon is my mom’s absolute favorite ice cream of all time!! (chocolate ripple is a close second). Thanks for reminding me that I should get her a pint for mother’s day/her birthday!! (which are coincidentally on the same day).

Brooke honestly is the most fashionable child I have ever seen. Can you pick out my outfits for me too?

Reply

I have to end a run on a good number. It’s either .00 .25 . 50 or .75. I will run until I get there! I haven’t seen those jelly beans before but those are the only flavors I like! I need to get out and get some ASAP!

Reply

Hershey’s candy-coated chocolate eggs and Jolly Rancher jelly beans. That would be enough for my Easter basket. Just those. Don’t waste space on any other items, please.

I want to be a part of your nap time walk club…complete with team jacket and crazy faces. I need a wider trail until I graduate from my kickass walker, though.

Reply

Those flavor reds are my VERY FAVORITE..they are singlehandedly responsible for the 5 lbs i can’t lose before Boston…good things Easter is only a coupla days away!!! :) :)

I love that pis..YUM!

I always have to end on the exact mile…sometimes I will run aorund my backyard and i think my neighbors must be like “there goes that lunatic again, running around her backyard” haha!!!!

Reply

I love that Brooke and your friend have the same headband haha and that ice cream sounds amazingly great! Vanilla, chocolate and caramel? I don’t think it gets much better than that! Hmmm Favorite Easter candy, I don’t think I have one, I like all candy too much! Oh yeah, I’m definitely that person that runs back and forth in front of my house until it reaches either .0 or .5!

Reply

I can’t believe you put Mini Eggs in second place! :P They were always my number 1 until they had to go ahead and slap an allergy warning label on them :( Now I’ve had to resort to eating Hershey’s Eggies in their place, but it’s just not the same…

Reply

I want Brooke’s headbands, too!

I was in dance…for like 15 years, and I’m somehow still very clumsy. :\ Ballet, jazz, some tap, and what we now call hip-hop, was then called “street jazz”. *le sigh*

Cadbury Eggs…bawk bawk bawk bawk bawk…BAWK!

My run has to end < .80, or I'll just keep going until I've hit the next mile.

Reply

Yep. I took dance for a few years in the 80s. In addition to tap and ballet I even took breakdancing! I couldn’t do the worm anymore if I tried. Lol.

I am a big peeps fan. Not stale though like some people like. And jelly beans come second. Then of course are the Reese’s peanut butter eggs.

I don’t have to land on an exact number but I have to go over the miles by at least .03 because when my garmin activities transfer to run keeper they get shaved down some. I hate when it says 14.99 instead of 15 miles. Lol.

Reply

SweetTart JellyBeans handsdown!!!

any shaped Reeses works, but the eggs are perfectly perfect.

I just thought my number/distance thing was because of my slight OCD! haha. Yep, I have to finish any run either on a rounded distance marker or if I can’t get to a good number I will finish it in a rounded time, so if I can’t squeeze in another .43 miles I’ll say okay until I hit ’45minutes’ instead if I’m crunched for time.

Reply

Aw the photos are so cute! And I LOVE Cadbury Mini Eggs – they have White and Dark chocolate versions now which are fab!

Reply

My favorite are the Strburst jelly beans! I went to get the original and my lil one decided we should get the all reds…best decision! Love the all reds more than the originals. They are my new obsession! I’ve never noticed before…do thyself them all year round? If not, I need to stock up!!

I don’t have to end on a perfect mile but only if my goal is a perfect time (in increments of 5).

Reply

I don’t care at all about ending on an exact mile. I round up or down and figure it all evens out eventually. :)

Favorite Easter candy: jelly beans, but not the Starburst ones (sorry!). Jelly Belly’s are the best and always will be!

Reply

When I reached my front door today I was at 4.91 miles somehow which was just not Ok so I kept going a bit until I hit 5.00….I used to love those ruffly white dress up socks!

Reply

Favorite candy: marshmallow eggs or whopper eggs. The best! I def run past my house/car to end on a specific number. I’m sure people think I’m nutso but I’m too OCD to care :)

Reply

I took dance from age 3-18! I have some photo gems from those days:) I took ballet, jazz, hip hop and lyrical.
I need my garmin to end at least on the mile I planned to run…but if I do .1 or .2 more that’s ok too:)

Reply

I did tap, jazz, and ballet as a kid! I remember some of the cool dance outfits we had for recitals.

My favorite Easter candy is Reeses eggs. So delicious!

And YES! I have to finish on the exact mile, can’t leave it at 4.96. The .5 might not bother me. However, when it’s like 4.86 or 4.93, for example, I have to run until I get 5.

Reply

your sister looks just like curly in that old picture!!! My favorite candy are reeses eggs. I found out my bf likes them too, so that DEFINITELY means we need to get some this year. And by “get some”, I mean “wait until the candy goes on sale monday and then buy it all half-price” :)

Reply

I love Starburst jelly beans and Cadbury Cream Eggs, but can only eat one egg- too sweet!

I took dance when I was 5, had a recital, and then the teacher moved away. My mother was not good about keeping us active, so no more dance for me. My daughter (age 9) has been dancing since she was 2 and is in a competitive ballet group. They are so cute.

Brooke is a fashionista! I miss being able to dress up my daughter. She dresses cute, but is all about comfort these days. Sigh.

Reply

No dance for me-I was too clumsy then and still too clumsy! :)

Cadbury Creme Eggs are my favorite Easter candy. I have to resist buying them because I have no self control.

I have to end on an exact number. One of my running friends runs for time and finishes on weird numbers. I can’t do it. Must stop at the exact mile and will walk back to my car or home if necessary.

Reply

oh my gosh, don’t tempt me. Now I want to move to Utah just to be in your walkers group! And I HAVE to finish on the mile. I can only handle .25 or .5 if I’m injured and have no choice but to stop…

Reply

Easter is my favorite time for candy – I love the Cadbury eggs, sweet tart jelly beans and the little robin eggs! Oh no…now I have a candy craving :(

Reply

I took dance. But to be totally honest I wore those socks every day like it was no big deal because they were just plain amazing.

Reply

I’ve been loving Reese’s eggs lately. live in Canada and we don’t have starburst jellybeans! I even tried ordering them on amazon with no luck lol

Reply

Mean Girls! Bahahaha! Last week at work a bunch of us were accidentally matching on Tuesday and one girl jokingly asked what we should wear tomorrow to which I responded “on Wednesdays we wear pink”. And that’s exactly what we did.

Reply

Also your niece is her mom’s twin! Holy cow!!

Reply

I pretty much always have to end my run on an exact number. Otherwise I feel guilty saying I ran 5 miles if I really only ran 4.96; I feel like I”m lying. And I took dance for a long time when I was little! Overtime I took ballet, tap, jazz, and tumbling!

Reply

I totally run past my door a few times to make sure I am hitting that exact mile marker :) I danced for 14 years! I loved it and kind of miss it! I did ballet and tap but loved tap the most.

Reply

I could not stop laughing at the cheetah dog…was it wearing a sweater??
I took ballet, tap, gymnastics and cheerleading when I was growing up. I gave it up in middle school when I got a part in the play Annie at the local theater, we had to rehearse everyday and couldn’t make dance lessons. I found out how much I loved running after that and never looked back, although now I wish I would have stuck with at least ballet.

My favorite Easter candy is currently the lemon heads chewy candy, I’m obsessed.

I can end at a weird number if it’s like 5.02 but not 4.96. I’m a weirdo.

Reply

I have to finish a run based on what the next race i’m training for … if it’s a half marathon or 5k, I end on a .1 …… If my next race is a 10k or a marathon, I end on a .2 Weird, I know.

Reply

I took jazz and tap dancing growing up.

I don’t mind ending in a weird number, I don’t use a garmin or anything, I usually map out my route before I go.

Favourite easter candy, either Laura Secord Cream eggs, or Reese’s peanut butter eggs.

Reply

Yup I pass my door or run around the block if I’m still .05 away from an even mileage. Glad I’m not the only crazy person to do this but it really messes up the splits if you don’t!

Reply

I love Brooke’s headband! I may have to make her my style icon too

Reply

oooh Reese’s PB Eggs and the cadbury mini dark chocolate eggs.. so freaking good. Neither of these things are in my apartment.. this will have to change

Reply

Nothing can top Reese’s eggs!!

If I set out for a certain mileage, I will keep running to hit it. But if I go over (like 7.12), I don’t care about rounding up then. I just call it a day.

Reply

So glad you asked this very important question regarding favorite Easter candy because, last week, I conducted a highly important experiment. I bought many, many bags of jelly beans and tasted all of them (you’re welcome). I came to the conclusion that Starburst and Jolly Rancher Jelly beans are the best. I decided to chalk up the sugar-induced dizziness and stomach ache afterwards to the cause of science.

I can stop on a weird mile ending as long as I’ve gone past my mile/time goal. Then I tell myself how awesome I was to go farther than I needed to.

Reply

I will NOT stop on an odd number.. no 4.96 , 4.99 it must be a rounded mile!!! And yes I have ran past my car several times to hit that mile!!! I love this picture must borrow it!!!

Reply

Hahaha – I always have to finish up my run and always run past my house! I think my neighbours think I am crazy or something as they see me zoom past and turn around 100m later :-D

Reply

You know i love me some Mean Girls. Did you know that next week (April 30th) actually marks the 10 year anniversary of when it was released. It’s a Wednesday, so naturally I will wear pink and watch the movie to celebrate. I am pretty cool like that.

I want to go on nap time walks. Do I need to go to Costco and buy that green jacket first? Is it like an initiation thing?

I always have to end on .1 .25 .5 or .75 Not sure why it is .1 instead of .00??!

Mini cadbury eggs, Reeses egg shaped peanut butter cups, Robin eggs, and starburst jelly beans all tie. I need them all in my life. Easter candy is the best!

If you do find those socks, make sure you get some in a different color too so that on one leg it can be pink on top of white and on the other white on top of the pink. A la punky breuster. That’s how I rolled. Man the late 80s were bodacious!

Reply

Oh man, I LOVE Gold Medal Ribbon. Every year for my birthday, my family gets a Fudge Nut Round w/ gold medal ribbon in the middle – do it now.

Reply

Haha – not the exact mile but the exact time I’m supposed to run. If my coach says run 2 hrs I will run 2 hrs. Even if means running by my front door once, sometimes twice. My neighbours are used to it by now and think it’s hilarious.

Reply

I need those headbands now!!!

Fav easter candy: def cadbury mini eggs and lindt chocolate bunnies!

Reply

Best Easter candy is a tie between Cadbury mini eggs and Cadbury cream eggs. The cream eggs are the only candy on the planet that I can eat just one of and feel satisfied. Miracle candy:-)

Reply

Gold Medal Ribbon was always my favorite flavor too!!! I would choose it above all others, and I remember my parents always treating me to it when I was younger :)

That final quote…hilarious and so so true! I’m guilty of doing that quite often…

Reply

Lol I’ve been known to run back and forth past my boyfriend because I needed to end on a whole mile (this is on Saturdays when I run and meet him at our local bagel shop for bagels). I look like a crazy person and it’s hilarious- only the runners know what I’m doing. I have to end on a whole mile/exact mile if that’s what I planned on doing. If my plan says run 7-8 miles though, I have no problem stopping at 7.28. Very weird because I’m normally OCD about that stuff.

Reply

Mini eggs hands down.

Ummm, of course runs have to end on the mile!! Let’s be serious ;)

Reply

The garmin thing is too funny! I thought I was the only person who was crazy about meeting my goal mile and going around the block again to meet my goal. I actually was a dancer for twelve years – ballet, tap and jazz.

Reply

I took dance for one or two years and my parents quickly figured out I didn’t need to be doing very girly things! Cadbury creme eggs for sure. Or Reese eggs. close tie for me! I have to end on a nice round number!!

Reply

MEAN GIRLS!

Reply

My favorite Easter candy is Peeps. I can’t wait until I see them in the store. They have to be chicks not bunnies. I have a Peep farm in my cabinet. I like them stale so the are all opened and pulled apart.

I can stop my run on a weird number as long as it is after the mile mark I needed to hit. 5.02 is ok 4.97 is not.

Reply

I totally wish I could pull off Brooke’s hair-do’s. They’re so adorable. And when I used to run I would definitely do that with my Garmin. I’m pretty sure all runners are OCD like that.

Reply

I love the emotional differences between a man and woman. We are just that more fun and entertaining every day. :) My favorite Easter candy has always been the full size Cadbury Creme Eggs, but has any one else noticed how much smaller (yet more expensive) they get each year? What is up with that?!

Reply

Your sister looks identical to curly in that picture of you guys! My favorite are reeses eggs. SO MUCH PB.

Reply

I used to have to end on the mile (or half mile) but now I purposely end on a random number, no idea why though (if there was a hashtag for that it would be #runnersarewierd

I love Hershey’s chocolate eggs – simple but they do the job.

Reply

I took dance briefly, but my teacher made us tap to “The Monster Mash” over and over until I got fed up. Not that I had any talent in that department anyway :)

Reese’s Eggs are the best!

Reply

Favourite Easter candy? I basically can’t decide between Mini Eggs and Reese’s Eggs. DONT MAKE ME CHOOSE! Ahem. Clearly, I am passionate about the subject.
I was a Highland dancer growing up ;-) So I danced in a kilt, sometimes around a set of swords. Kinda badass when you think about it…

Reply

I ran past my house for a little bit this morning cause I wanted to hear the rest of my song :)

Also – have you heard Happy by Leona Lewis? Such a good running song! That was what was playing this morning for me….made me keep going!

Reply

I like to end my runs on .1 or .7 and I realize I’m an insane person, okay? Also I’m totally on board with the starburst jelly beans. I bought a big bag of them and pretended it would last me until easter but the real victory is that it lasted more than one day.

Reply

I took ballet when I was younger, but I went to a very traditional ballet school where we just wore plain ol’ leotards for our recital. Nothing nearly as sweet as that dress you’re wearing!

Some people might hate me for saying this, but I’d much rather get a box of fruit from Harry and David than Easter candy. Have you ever had their pears (or peaches or cherries)? They’re AMAZING.

Reply

I took tap and ballet growing up.
Fav Easter candy? anything with chocolate and peanuts or peanut better
Yes if its possible, I have to end at a full mile or at least a ‘0’ at the end or a ‘5’ like 7.50 miles, or 8.25 etc =)
And your sister as a child, looks just like your oldest niece-wow!! (And Curly has a nickname, does her sister have one as well?)

Reply

That bit about running past your own front door until you get a full mile is so spot on.

Reply

Your sister looks so much like her daughters in that picture of you two when you were little!

Reply

I took ballet but I was terrible, so gave it up after a couple of years of trying.

Love any kind of Easter eggs, plain milk chocolate or white but I’m addicted.

Yep, have to run past our house to get my garmin to tick over to an exact number.

Reply

I took tap for about 8 years. I loved every minute!
Very anal about ending on a mile with my Garmin, even .10 must go to the next mile.

Reply

You and your sister have amazing teeth ( a great view of them in that photo!). I’m very jealous..the candy doesn’t seem to have had a negative effect :-)
I did classical ballet when I was a child – I loved every second of it – even bleeding feet.
I just love chocolate Easter eggs rather than candy – I love love love chocolate.
Yes, I do run up and down my street to get to a certain km on my Garmin

Reply

The best Easter candy is actually the Cadbury caramel eggs not the Cadbury crème eggs like everyone might think. :) Also, the little pieces of egg shaped gum that comes in those little egg cartons are a close second.

Reply

You’re back!!! I was so lost and confused without you yesterday.
I must end on the mile or at .5 after the mile. MUST.
Starburst jellybeans are the best Easter candy. I wont hear any arguments about this. The tropical ones are amazing. I get a little stressed with the originals because I only eat the pinks and reds and oranges but I love all the tropical flavors equally :) I need a new bag every two days.

Reply

Whoa! Your niece looks just like your sister when she was little. How fun!

Reply

In the baby photo you posted your sister looks EXACTLY like her daughter now! How cool. Our running group always does that to get the exact mileage!

Reply

I noticed the same thing!! We need a side by side comparison shot of your sister at approximately the same age as a photo of her oldest daughter…. Because they look like twins!

Reply

I’ve seen that image that she posted on IG about emotions and I laughed hard-it’s so true!
Back in my running days I would circle around my apt until I hit that .00 on the mile. I looked odd but that’s okay.

I’ll be out in your neck of the woods (kind of…). Heading to Colorado tomorrow morning.. hoping the altitude doesn’t kill me!

Reply

Easter candy you HAVE to try – sweetart jelly beans. The most addictive candy on the planet!!

And because of where I live I run odd distances all the time. I can end on anything past what was on my training plan – and actually find it hard to stop just perfectly on a round number! I’m wierd, I know….

Reply

I LOVE the full sized Cadbury cream eggs. They make the original, carmel, and chocolate. I just listed them in order of best to still good :)

And yes, I HAVE to end on an even number of what I’m supposed to run!! If I’m on a treadmill I adjust my program number that tracks my runs to be exactly 5.0 or whatever I’m running that day. Outside I just have to hit at least my goal distance.

Reply

I’m 100% OCD/Type A personality: if the Garmin doesn not beep, the run is not over. The ONLY exceptions are: 3.1, 6.2, 13.1. And 26.2, obviously.

I love the peanut butter egg m & m’s. Second favorite would be the Cadbury mini-eggs.
I definitely feel that my neighbors think I’m crazy for the amount of times they’ve seen me run back and forth in front of my house to get in the exact mileage.
I had to thank you for the wonderful memory. My mom’s favorite ice cream to get at Baskin Robbins was Gold Medal Ribbon. I haven’t thought about it in years. Your dad is a real sweetie.

Regular cream filled Cadbury eggs. No caramel filled, no mini, just regular!!

I do the same thing!! I run up and down my street until I hit the mileage I want to because otherwise it drives me nuts and I feel like I cheated by stopping too soon.

mini reeses cups!
I always have to get an exact number! 90% of the time it needs to be a full exact mile, but sometimes it can be a .50 also. My dad thinks its weird.. but really if you miss the last .1 every run that will add up to like really milage! .. I think.. haha that’s what I say to defend it at least..??

Jelly beans. Because they are awesome. And I just bought that same bag and I was so excited to see it at the store I actually squealed a little. I’m sure people looked at me funny.

I have to run at least what I set out to do in my head. So if I set out to run 3 miles I have to run that. I prefer to run at least 3.1 or a little more. 2.1…4.1. Anything over. Though I’m OCD, apparently not with numbers. ;)

I took ballet and tap! So much fun. I highly recommend the NYC ballet workout DVD, especially if you did ballet as a kid! It’s a good workout and really takes me back!

Name that movie?! Mean Girls. I actually just watched that this week… no shame. I took EVERYTHING for about 12+ years with dance and loved every second of it.
