We got a little crazy.

We got a little crazy with our normal chocolate chip pancake Sunday morning breakfast tradition and we put some butterscotch chips in with those beauties.  A really good decision.

IMG 9126

We visited our turkey friends but

IMG 9142

the second they started gobbling Brooke wanted nothing to do with them.

IMG 9143

Dinner was over at my sister’s house and we made quinoa burritos with lots of different fresh cut up veggies and feta cheese.

DSC 9969

And like usual I broke into the candy stash that is above the fridge that they all forget exists.  I do not forget where candy is put nor will I ever forget.

DSC 9973

I decided it would be really random for me to make a slide show of how Brooke and I ended our night together.  She chased after that ball for about an hour straight.  She got in a lot more running than I did yesterday.

Oh yeah, and on Saturday night I went with my sis and her husband to get Thai at 10 pm.  I have to start preparing my body now for the fact that I will be eating 20 lbs of my favorite cuisine starting in 10 days.

IMG 9118

I have turned my family into apple fritter machines and we ended up in a town 20 minutes south of us to get the last of their apple fritters after the above meal.  Sadly they were not very good but the experience was one to remember.

IMG 9119

My body is feeling surprisingly good after my 20 miler on Saturday.  I will probably go out for some easy/relaxed miles to play it safe and of course I will be wearing a lot of green…

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Fave cuisine…if I can only pick one….Mexican. I just can’t ever resist it, and I’m ALWAYS in the mood for it. lol

I ran on Saturday morning – the St Malachi Run- it’s a kickoff to St.Patty’s Day Weekend…does that count as a St. Patty’s Day race? :) It was a lucky run too- I PR’d after not really running (at all!) in 3 weeks…

And I most definitely will wear green today.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!

Today is my Grandfather’s 89th birthday! :)

I ran the Corktown Races down the old brick streets in Detroit yesterday. With the wind chill, it was below 0 at race time and it snowed! Fun but freezing.

Reply

Yeah! I raced yesterday. 30 mph winds! I felt like I was standing still for most of the race. Won 2nd in my AG for almost a personal worst for the 5 mile distance. lol.

Greek food is def my favorite. I could live on it. Also, I think this is the first time I’ve heard you say you didn’t like something so it must’ve been really not good!

Reply

Italian!!!!
I had a 5k on Sat…1st female…woohoo!!! It wasn’t a PR for me 21:09…but I am happy with it, with this terrible winter snow I have only been able to get to the track 1 time to do speed and it was crazy hilly!!!!!

Reply

I guess I’ll go with American. Nothing like a 5 guys cheeseburger and fries! That’s American, right? Mexican is a close second. Love me some chips and salsa.
Snow day for me. Im a bit sick of snow to be honest! Im actually wishing I could leave the house because Im craving a good run. Ive never run in snow before and Im terrified of slipping and falling (happens to me a lot).
Happt St Pattys day!

I couldn’t come up with any green outfits for this Poalr Vortex, so if anyone asks, my underwear is green!

I never ever forget where candy was put. :\ I feel like a dork for being the only person in my family who goes “Hey, we had _______ in the pantry…”.

I am wearing green today! I ain’t getting pinched!

My 26th birthday is March 29th. I am starting to feel old. ;)

Green – Not a lot of green, just enough to avoid pinches lol
Race – No St Patricks DAy race
Favorite Cuisine – Been loving fajitas lately
March Birthdays – You are right, our family has a TON of birthdays in March.

Mexican is my favorite cuisine! Nachos, hello!

I ran my first marathon yesterday- the Shamrock Marathon in Virginia Beach, VA!!! It was awesome, wonderful, magnificent!!!! I finished in 4:20 (which means you would have already finished, showered, and be eating a sandwich by the time I crossed the finish line;). I was thrilled with my time- I felt amazing the entire time. I have four children (7 year old and 4 year old boys and 18 month old twin girls), so I feel like I did the best I could with my “training.” Today I am hoping and praying to find a babysitter so I can get a massage! Great job on your 20. You are going to rock your marathon. I was impressed with all the runners yesterday (from first to last), but the really fast runners (the group you would be in) were amazing.

Reply

My daughter’s birthday is tomorrow, and my wife is taking her to breakfast and then to Target, to be one of the first to snag “Frozen” on blu-ray (it comes out tomorrow). I suspect our family will be having their own sing-a-long tomorrow night.

Reply

I’m wearing a cute green lacy dress!

I hope I have some green to wear out running later on!

For real, I need to try an apple fritter. Also, My nana used to hide candy on me…and i alwasy found it–> it is pretty hard to hide SUGAR from a child who loves it!
I think my favorite is….Italian. No mexican. Italian. Itali-exican???

Happy st pattys day! :)

Reply

Ahhh favourite cuisine is such a tough question. Sushi. No Mexican. No Sushi. Dammit…

Reply

I can only choose 1 favorite cuisine? That is tough. I would say my ultimate favorite is Mexican food. I love tacos, taco salad, burrito bowls, chips and guac, etc etc.!!!!

I can’t believe I have NEVER tried an apple fritter. I think that needs to change asap.

Reply

Those photos of Brooke with the ball are absolutely adorable. I did run a St. Patricks day race, or rather a marathon yesterday that had the March Madness theme and qualified for Boston…..so excited this old lady runner will toe the line in Hopkington next April! Will you be there too?

Reply

I would have to say Mexican. But American would tie or be a close second because I love a good cheeseburger and fries. Love.

And I only have one green shirt so…probably not. :( Hm. We Irish (wee Irish?) don’t have to wear green, we’re already there. :)

Reply

March is a huge birthday month for my family! Mine was the 6th, my husband’s is today (St. Patty Baby!), our daughter’s FIRST birthday is on the 25th, and my sister and her husband are both on the 30th! :)

Reply

Oh, and I am wearing green today (my whole family is!) and I would choose Mexican food over anything else, any day!

Reply

i think i’d have to say sushi as favorite cuisine — unless ice cream counts as its own cuisine?

Reply

Hmm, I hadn’t thought about wearing green today, but I might as well wear it to the gym :-)

Unfortunately all the St. Patty’s day races were sold out by the time I got to them :-(

Favorite Cuisine = Mexican Hands Down!

My brother and my 2 week old niece (YAY!) have a March birthday.

Reply

No green today, I didn’t even think about it! I’ll have to later for my run. :)

My favorite cuisine right now is probably Mexican. It seems like I can’t get enough of it lately!

Reply

I think I need Brooke’s monkey pajamas in my size!
I am definitely wearing green today :)
Gosh, I don’t know if I can decide between Thai and Mexican….
My baby girl just turned 10 on the 8 and three of our friends and nephew are this month. Busy birthday month.

Reply

I have to say, time spent in pursuit of a doughnut is not time wasted. I had a pretty good one this weekend with nutella frosting, and then they had these great samoa ones, and of course the bacon one, also good, and oh yeah the apple fritter was pretty tasty too….
I guess I would say my absolute favorite cuisine is my mother’s because it accommodates all my crazy food eccentricities.

Reply

I ran the DC Rock n Roll Half with 5 extra miles added on for marathon training! It was a great day.

My birthday is on Saturday!!

Favorite cuisine HANDS DOWN is Mexican :) Can’t beat that. And it also runs in my blood since I live in Texas. I bleed salsa.

It totally does seem like everyone in the world is born in March, so many birthdays to remember!

I spent the weekend moving so I didn’t get any miles in, but everyone else’s shamrock races looked like a blast, I’ll put that on my bucket list!

Reply

I’m totally rocking green today… a fun kelly green dress with shamrock tights and of course green nails

I ran uncle marty’s kilt run 5k… not even close to a pr but 3rd overall female… it was freezing and crazy hilly but I was thankful for the free beer at the end:)

And turkeys are cool…but it is a wonder how they survive…once, while walking in the woods, me and my guy heard a crashing noise coming right at us…loud enough I was afraid it was a bear! It was just two turkeys, clumsily making their way through the woods and making their presence known to all!

Reply

Crazy pancakes! They sound so yummy :) Those turkeys are bigger than the kid! And candy stashes?! I just started the 21 day sugar detox- 10 hours in I could totally use some chocolate lol.. have a great day!

Reply

Can only choose one!? I guess American then. Hamburgers hold a special place in my heart.

Your mom must be incredibly awesome. She and I share the same birthday!

Reply

I am not wearing green atm, but I’m also at home alone so hopefully no one will pinch me :)

I wanted to do a race… but instead the hubs and I went on a backpacking trip in Arkansas to celebrate our anniversary. I still got a sweet leg workout hiking 15+ miles with 20lb of pack and crazy hills. :)

Fav food: Chicken pad thai from thai place in Westport/KC, MO

Sorry your fritters were disappointing!! :(

I’m so excited for you to go to Thailand!! What an adventure!!

Reply

Hands down Italian is my favorite cuisine. I’m all about the carbs, especially pizza. Though that Thai looks pretty good.

Reply

Of course I’m wearing green!! :) I did the Leprechaun 10k Chase last weekend. Oh man, so much fun! I was really sore afterwards. I’ve been sick, so that definitely affected my running! I ended up PRing. I think. They are confusing with their timing schemes from year to year!

Reply

My birthday is also on Wednesday…I’m turning 30! But I guess it doesn’t seem so bad. And my little peanut is 7 months today; she’s growing so fast.

Reply

Yep, I’m wearing green, but totally by accident! I got up, wished my hubby a happy St. Patrick’s Day, and randomly put on my new Costco green hoodie. It wasn’t until later that I realized, oh yeah, I’m wearing green like I’m supposed to!

We got 9 inches of snow overnight for St. Paddy’s Day!

Mexican is my favorite cuisine, and it doesn’t hurt that margaritas go with all Mexican dishes!

Reply

Thai and Vietnamese are my favorite foods. I’m wearing green too today! Wore green workout tank to the gym with my green laced shoes. Wearing bright green silk shirt to work. I even baked green tea pistachio muffins this weekend.

Reply

Definitely Mexican food :) I am not wearing green but I will hopefully be making corned beef and cabbage for my mom tonight. My father is from Ireland so we love St. Patricks day!

Reply

Your mama & I share a bday! Yay bday week!

Reply

I need to know where you got your brown purse from! It looks divine

Reply

I love Thai, and Thai food in Thai land is even better. Street vendor food…get excited! Pad Thai from a cart is heavenly…..and don’t be scared to try a 2 hour massage in the backpacker district. It may be from a mat on the ground, but it could be the best massage I have ever had….and for only $10 US equivalent.

Reply

Of course I’m wearing green, I don’t want to get pinched!! That Thai food looks amazing. I think I’d have to go with Japanese. I love sushi dumplings, and teriyaki chicken/rice. I have a March birthday! It was on the 4th. Happy early birthday to your mom!

Reply

I’m rocking the one green shirt I own today!

I ran an Irish Jig 5k on Saturday…first race of the season!

Reply

I kind of let St Pat’s day pass me by, which is sad because I have some lovely Irish friends and I think there’s a touch of Irish blood in me. I blame it on being on a Monday this year.
Janae, you’ve got better ‘candy’, donuts, Mexican, apple fritters and continually make me jealous…. but I’m pretty sure my home town has got you covered on the Thai food front :-) I eat alot of Thai food. But I also love Lebanese food, its awesome too. I can’t choose..sorry.

Reply

I wear wine colored scrubs to work, but I had green accents on my shoes!! I’ll put on some green tonight. And my favorite food, hands down, is thai. Green curry with tofu and veggies is my idea meal. Maybe that’s what’s for dinner!!

Reply

I have a March bday!! I was the 9th! A lot of great people have March bdays!!

Reply

Not the biggest Monday person, but usually by then I’m over the week having started. What I dislike are Sunday evenings, that time when you know you need to go to sleep, and that the weekend is very much over.

Reply

What? Somehow I tried to comment on the newest post, got an error, then realized the comment showed up here… weird.

Reply

We finally got out today with our running group. Well our walk2run group. It was so awesome to get out and run in the mud..and ice..ok..not so much fun, but that is why I wore my old shoes.

Whoah! Quinoa Burritos. Do you have a recipe for that? I’ve been trying to find that dish and good thing I came across your blog. Im gonna try to add lots of veggies too and ill see if my husband will like it. Anyway, I maybe too late to greet for St Patrick’s day, but until now I still got a party hangover. I can still remember that I was a standout with my emerald dress that night. Anyway thanks for this post!
