Two runs this morning. One with my running posse at early o’clock for 7.5 miles with two of those miles at tempo (6:35, 6:30) to test out the waters with speed again. This pace felt hard but at the same time it felt really good to get moving after doing only easy running since coming back from taking time off because of my shin splints. Even though I realized how much speed I have lost over the last little while those two miles got me excited to start working really hard for my marathon in June.
I got home and had oatmeal and then…
My second run was later on with a good friend that is in town visiting. 4.5 miles on the trails. The first .7 miles were STRAIGHT uphill, I thought my legs were going to fall off. Luckily, it was all pretty flat after that.
I am front loading my mileage this week because I probably won’t be running much at the end of the week because of traveling.
The best way to refuel. Why don’t all egg sandwiches come on a perfect/buttery croissant?
People that like to split entrees so that you get to try more than one thing are the best kind of people.
No big deal… each slice of bread is only like 3 inches tall.
Utah, you better not be playing a cruel joke on me… no snowing again until next winter (every year Utah gets warm and beautiful and then it gets cold again and snows. Rude).
All packed for Thailand. Running shoes, swimsuits and my leopard pillow so that I can sleep on the plane…. All I need.
82 degrees by 8 a.m in Bangkok. I feel good about that.
The Curly just got here so we are doing what we do best before going to pick up the other kiddos from school.
PS I love it when Brooke naps like this with her little buns up in the air.
Ever had shin splints? What did you do to get rid of them?
-I took 12 days off from running, iced, foam rolled, deep tissue massages, scraping and running on the trails more has helped them SOOOOO much.
What would your perfect breakfast be?
Do you ever run twice in one day? How often? Do you like doubles?
Parents reading—> When do your kids nap? How long usually?
-Brooke is down to one nap but they are usually 2.5 hours long! All of this bike riding is making her tired.
