It just wouldn’t be my blog without…

Brooke is REALLY into giving people kisses lately.  It’s a good thing because DAY #2 of no running required many kisses from Brooke (I know, I am completely ridiculous and dramatic but I need running in order to feel sane).

I told you.  She just goes from person to person.

I had an early lunch over at the sister’s house.  You need to try making THIS soup.  So filling and delicious.  Also, use the rotisserie chicken from Costco in the soup.  Doesn’t get any better.

We had a very intense game of cards going down.

Reunions = a great time.

Reunions with the group of people that you shared a van with for 2 days straight.  No hygiene.  Lots of running.  Lots of junk food=  AN AMAZING TIME.

This was my first time eating at Carrabba’s.  I was impressed.  Goat cheese on top of chicken, brilliant.

Oh yeah, and of course there was salad and chocolate with my meal because it just wouldn’t be my blog if these two things weren’t involved at dinner.

Remember how I had a list the other day of all of the best donut shops in the US?!?  Well, Utah did not make that list.

Luckily, there is THIS list to help us amazing Utahns to find the best spots.  Now you all really do need to visit Utah.  Donuts on me.  Seriously.

I did yoga yesterday for the first time in years.. Who would’ve thought I would wake up today and be sore?? Not me, for sure!
It’s good that you are resting but I get the grumped out feeling of not running!
Enjoy your day today!

Brooke and her kisses just made my Saturday morning! She seems like the sweetest little girl. :) You are doing an amazing job raising her!

p.s. Donuts ROCK!

Good thing I just ate some cinnamon rolls for breakfast, or I’d be seriously craving a donut right now! :) It’s a beautiful SUNNY, WARM day here in New Hampshire, and my hubby and I are heading out for 18 miles together!

What’s that donut thing to the left of the one with the sprinkles. I need it in my life. Now. :D

Good thing I had planned on getting a doughnut this morning on my way to work. If not, I would have wanted one!
I need a yoga class! Enjoy it for me! My new gym doesn’t offer classes. It’s starting to bother me.I need to find an online alternative, I think.
I miss the baby kisses stage! So sweet! I’ll just have to wait for my 5-month old niece to grow up.

I am totally craving donuts!

I am bummed that it is a beautiful day in DC and I can’t run and can only limp. My right IT Band is really bad. Had a cortisone shot on Wednesday and start physical therapy in a week. I need your grumpy cat picture. Will focus on upper body weights and elliptical, but so not the same. See why I need a donut? :)

I hope you have a great day filled with Brooke’s kisses!

It’s good you put visit Utah and not move to Utah. You’d have a running shoe and doughnut shortage on your hands. Have fun doing yoga!

Reply

We’re finally above freezing so the pooch and I are going to run outside today!

No doughnuts for me today, but I think I’m going to make buttermilk pancakes!

Reply

I love how many friends and family you have surrounding you every day. We moved away 3 years ago and I miss all of mine so much! That is so sweet that Brooke is giving kisses now :) Enjoy your weekend!!

Utah is high on my places to visit list. Husband and I are trying to hit all the National Parks and Utah has some of what looks to be the most spectacular ones. Also, I never turn down a doughnut. That list will be bookmarked for out NP tour out that way, which is the next whirlwind adventure on the list.

Someone needs to invent a really good GF donut! : )

Brooke is such a cutie. You are raising her to be a lover. :) I love making soups with the Costco chicken, this one I will have to try. And yes, I think a donut for breakfast is in my near future.

Reply

I had a GREAT 5k this morning, but I agree with you they’re painful. Also I agree with this girl ^ someone needs to invent a good GF donut, I miss them!

Reply

I haven’t had a donut in too long! When I was a kid, my father would bring home a dozen from Dunkins on Sunday and because of that, those donuts always remind me of those times! Also, Brooke is so cute giving everyone kisses :)

Reply

Now I’m thinking about donuts again thanks! Haha I was taking my fur kid to the vet this morning and had to drive a different way home so that I used self control to NOT stop in our bakery for donuts…now I’m thinking about them again…

Reply

Yes! I mentioned that day that Banbury Cross has the best donuts and it’s #1 on the list! Take all your food recommendations from me :)
I’m going to have a fabulous birthday run today!

that second photo is probably the cutest thing ever. it’s like a tiny-sized secret is going on. i am sorry you’re feeling less sane with no running. hopefully you’re getting some good slobbery kisses to make you feel better.

Feel better janae! I know how you feel not running I just had foot surgery this week!

yum donuts!! I am so lucky to have a local shop that makes gluten free donuts- so I don’t have to miss out on the fun!

Reply

Brooke is adorable! I would run for you, but I am taking an active rest day (sorry)

Reply

I do not even like donuts and I’ve been craving them all week. Do you think you might have something to do with that??

I am on a doctors ordered gluten free diet for a bit. I’m starting Monday ;)

It’s gonna be a fun weekend. There will probably be donuts involved. I blame you.

So much yummy food in one post! Drool… :)

OMG that donut with the sprinkles on top! I’m in love!

That soup you and your sister made look fantastic. I’m going to have to make it!!
You look so gorgeous in all of these! Have a great time at yoga :)

The Beehive State! I had forgotten that Utah was the Beehive State! I remember there was a tiny beehive on our license plate when we lived out there.

I love constant kisses from toddlers. It’s such a cute age!

Reply

Have a great yoga day!! Such a cute age!!

I just picked up some Dunkin Donuts for my little cousins that I’m babysitting this weekend and I picked out a heart-shaped donut that is filled with brownie batter! I can’t wait to try it…not sure why I haven’t yet, but I guess I wanted to get some stuff done on the computer before letting myself dig in :)

Reply

Great, now i want donuts. :) thanks for the donut link. I cant believe there are 2 places in lehi that I didnt even know about (when I visit). I see the firehouse one all the time because its across the street from Culvers (which is the yummiest place for vanilla custard and burgers! Have u been yet Janae? I keep telling u its the best! ;) )

Go back to carabbas for their Sicilian chicken soup. It is life changing.

I finished 10 miles on the treadmill this morning! It was a fantastic run!

Don’t hate me, but I think donuts are one of the worst breakfast foods invented. I know, crazy, right?! But I just have never been a fan. If you had a kolache, your donut love may waiver.

Reply

I ran 9 miles for you today Janae! Less than a month away from the Rock and Roll DC Half Marathon that I am running. I hope your calves feel better asap.

Also, that meal from Carrabba’s looks amazing!

Reply

Kisses from our little ones always make us feel better. Hugs are even warmer. Carrabba’s is great and their soups are usually awesome.

Reply

I would totally run for you but I’m on the injured list. :-(
Cuddles and kisses from my hounds make me feel better when I can’t run.

Reply

I’m pregnant, and donuts with sprinkles has been at the top of my cravings list recently. I have to say that one in your last photo looks incredible. I might just have to travel to Utah for those sprinkles…

Reply

Everytime I see your blog posts, I get the overwhelming feeling that I just wanna be your friend:-) your such a great inspiration!

I went on a walk with my 14 month old…and let her lead. According to the app on my phone, she has a pace of 1:08:33, lol.

Reply

Awww, how cute that Brooke is giving kisses to everyone! I’m sure she will turn any frown upside down :)

Reply

I ran a slow 8 miles today… but was chased by a german shepherd. Be thankful for rest days ;)
Brooke is too sweet giving out kisses – I love it! My mom has told me that she had to keep me on a tight leash (figuratively – i didn’t really wear a leash like some kids today) because apparently I would walk up to strangers at wal-mart and give out hugs.
Donuts sound amazing right about now. Just had smores with the fam’ so that’ll have to do for now. :)
Enjoy your Sunday! Hopefully your calves are better Monday!!

What a fun and delicious looking reunion!

Just had fractured prune donuts for the first time after dogtown half and son’s violin solo. I’m not usually a cake donut fan, and maybe it was the post race hunger talking, but they were amazing! Hot yellow cake donut covered in maple glaze and topped with cinnamon sugar. Or smothered in blueberry glaze with powdered sugar. We will be back.

This was my second day of not running too because I was at a chess tournament the last couple of days! I also went to Carrabba’s for the first a couple of weeks ago. It was pretty, good, although the portions weren’t big enough for me or my friend.

Reply

Utah is the beehive state??!!! I know so little about my own country!

Reply

Ahhh, Carraba’s is one of my FAV’s!!! I could live off their bread and herbs. and the Pollo Rosa Maria is the BEST!

Reply

You are being so smart taking a few days off from running. Think about how amazing your next run will be:)
I am not sure if I will run today or take a rest day, but if I do run I will definitely run some miles for you!

Reply

I hope you had a great time at your yoga class! I’ve been yogaing it up this weekend, too. I’m going through yoga teacher training so I can teach yoga for runners classes. You are so lucky to have such a sweet little girl.

Reply

Yay for yoga. I’ll be doing some later as I just finished an intense 10 mile race that I was not in shape for at all…lol. Somebody needs to stop my impulsive race registrations.

Reply

I’m still taking it easy myself from running — so I can all too well relate. Sending you lots of healthy vibes, hope Brooke’s kisses are making it all better!

Reply

Every time I read your blog I end up wanting a donut! Reason #1 to never stop reading your blog…

Love Carrabbas!!

Reply

I haven’t run for the past two days either. On Saturday, I REALLY wanted to run, but knew it wasn’t a great idea (I strained my foot last week). On Sunday I came to terms with my laziness.

Reply

She is a doll! That’s got to be killing you to not be running!

Brooke is such a cutie!!! :)

Your not crazy! Running keeps me sane as well. I NEED it in my life and without it I am not a happy person. I am a much better mom when I run and a better person to be around overall.

Reply

Those kisses are precious! I can’t believe you haven’t been to Carrabas before. They have great and skinny friendly food.
