I have a special request for you.

The reason that I get excited for any and every holiday:

Because it is our tradition to make and decorate sugar cookies for each holiday.

DSC 9717

This recipe really is the only sugar cookie recipe you should ever make.

And then Brooke made her Valentine cards and delivered them to her friend’s house.

IMG 7891

We also hit up a workout clothes party and I wanted to purchase every single item there.

IMG 7889

I never had a chance to have dinner last night until really late and as I was finally driving home I stopped at my favorite burrito place for my steak/egg/potato burrito.  I went to pay and realized that I didn’t have my wallet so I started writing them a check because I did have my checkbook.  They told me that they DIDN’T ACCEPT CHECKS?!?! When did this happen?   Am I the only one that still has and uses a checkbook?

I inhaled a bajillion of these turkey and swiss cheese wraps once I got home even though all I could think about was the above mentioned burrito.

I am stocked up on the PureFlow 2s for a little while now.  REI is having a closeout sale on them and they are just $70 right now!  You can find the deal HERE!

My running partner’s foot is bugging her so I am running solo again for the SECOND DAY IN A ROW.   I don’t even know how to handle this.

One more thing.  Because you can’t all come to Utah to celebrate my birthday with me I have a special request.  I need you to all eat an apple fritter (on 2/13/2014) and it will be like we are all eating one together.  Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

IMG 7035

I took my sister to Yum Yum’s when we were in California last month and she is now completely hooked on their fritters too.   I miss the days of living less than a mile away from this place.  One thing that Utah is DEFINITELY lacking in is donut shops.

Maryland is in a state of emergency so my only goal for today is to stock up on food like all the other crazies out there. My only plan for valentines day is to make homemade pizza so I have to make sure I’m stocked up if I get shut in my condo. Rough life…maybe I should buy cookie dough too

Reply

Brooke is such an adorable little valentine!

Three things happening today: We are getting bathroom fixtures installed in the basement and finishing construction; I’m running 5 miles solo on the treadmill because the roads are still too narrow and snowy for me to run on, and hopefully, I can get Bungee outside for a walk around the neighborhood.

Reply

Running solo… 13 miles with 7 at GMP. I love Christmas… and Easter. But mostly Christmas.

My 3 things- work, running, baking Valentine’s cookies for the blog! So psyched to bake tonight!

PS- a workout clothes party would kill my fun budget. I would need all of the things!

Reply

I run solo every day but I would kill for a great running buddy! Fav holiday is probably Thanksgiving :)

Reply

Three things:
1. Day 3 of a Half Marathon training (an easy 5 miles)
2. My class is hopefully finishing their 6th and last portion of our province’s standardized tests.
3. Friday Night Lights is waiting for me on Netflix when I get home.

Favourite holiday: Christmas!

I usually run solo but this week to jump start my training and not allow any excuses, I’m running on the treadmill and indoor track at the gym, so it’s kinda like being with people!

Reply

Favorite holiday? Christmas! and Thanksgiving!!!

Apple fritter YES please!

Reply

A workout clothes party? Like an Avon party but with workout clothes? Sign me up! :)

The only thing I pay with checks for is my running coach. I wish she would switch to an online payment system because I just had to order three books of checks (the minimum from my bank) just so I can keep paying her to tell me what to do with my running life!

Reply

Such a sweet picture of Brooke delivering her Valentine’s Day gift!

Favorite holiday: Hanukkah! :)

Reply

I got the stomach bug my son had so trying to rest! We made cards and cookies for his school party yesterday too it was fun :) and I also order two pair of the pure flows since they were so cheap!!! Thanks for sharing!

Reply

1. Work 2. After-Work Event 3. Trying to stock up on V-Day goodies before tomorrow’s snow storm!!

No run today :( Too dark and icy this morning and I’m at work all day. I CAN’T WAIT FOR WARMTH!!!! I run solo – looking to join a running club this year!

Happy early birthday! PS. A workout clothes party sounds like my heaven. Jealous!

Reply

Those valentines cookies are so adorable. Decorating sugar cookies is my favorite activity especially around Christmas!

Reply

I don’t use it often but I do have a checkbook! Since I used to work in a bank I will tell you there are PLENTY of people that still use them on a daily basis.

Those sugar cookies look DELICIOUS!

Reply

Running solo today (although it may be a treadmill session with the way the weather is! – I cant wait for summer)

Ive never had an apple fritter but will make a point to sample one soon…

Reply

I have a checkbook, but I only carry one check at a time in my wallet. Checks I write are mostly to my girls’ schools for misc fees.

Three things today? Just dropped dog off at groomers and youngest daughter at honor choir practice. Tonight taking oldest to a multi-cultural fair at her school and then we have to shop for a couple of more items for the Valentine’s treats my girls are making.

My favorite holiday is Halloween!

I am running with my oldest daughter today. Woot! Woot!

Reply

That apple fritter sure looks tasty! Brooke’s Valentines Day delivery is adorable :) my day today is work, work, and more work… wahoo!

Reply

So have you tried adding pesto to turkey & cheese wraps? Because your mind will be blown by the deliciousness.

Reply

That sounds absolutely amazing! Thank you Rachel!

Reply

When I tried to order the shoes it shows they are $69 even in my basket. Is there a code?

Reply

For me the extra discount came off when I went to purchase them!

Reply

Did you have an REI membership? I’m going to enter my dad’s REI info and see if that helps. It’s showing up as $69 for me as well. I’m fine with that, but $48 would definitely be a nice surprise too :)

Reply

I am trying to figure it out but I think it may have ended yesterday now. I am so sorry! I will edit my post now. Let me know if it ends up working for you Corrine!

Reply

No, they ended up being about $74. That’s ok though, because it’s still a lot cheaper than what I would usually pay, and I’m about to need new shoes :)

And by “about to,” I mean I need something else to bribe myself through winter running. Nothing motivates like new stuff!

Reply

Oh good! I am the same way, new gear gets me out the door! Have a great day!

Reply

Love Brookes cookies! :)
Three things: running, eating a super huge salad and trying out a new recipe!
Christmas all the way!!

I can’t believe they didn’t take a check! And I am so sad about the Pure Flows too!

Reply

I am about to order some Brooks now. I love those shoes!!

Today I am teaching health (watching the Magic School Bus.. yes!), I worked out already, and will be going to my parents for dinner!

My favorite holiday is Christmas because everyone is together :) No running today, but it’s solo every other day :(

Reply

Happy Birthday Eve, Janae! Boy do I love you! Your posts are one of the highlights of my day, every day. Xoxox

Reply

I love your holiday cookie making tradition!

I use checks for payments to private individuals (ie – landlord), however that’s about it.

Reply

A workout clothes party?? How do I get an invite to that??
I need those shoes!
I agree, we don’t have many great donut places. I always hear Banbury Cross is the best but they’re up in salt lake. I have a daylight donuts near me but I’ve never tried them…maybe I’ll go there on Thursday for my celebratory birthday apple fritter ;)

Reply

Yum those sugar cookies look great!! Yay I find it a little weird that places don’t take checks. It’s just odd, I remember seeing my mom writing them to the grocery store all the time when I was little, now she (and everyone else) uses credit cards. Oh how time has changed. I’m going to lift some weights, make a bomb protein shake afterwards (I’ve got a new recipe I want to try out :)), and take my last exam of the week, I might cry after I finish because I’ll be so happy it’s over.

Reply

My mom and I made a HUGE batch of sugar cookies for Christmas since my brother, two sisters and their husbands were going to be there, and then I was the only one who really cared about the cookies (I have no idea what is wrong with my family), and I was completely powerless to resist them so I probably ate like 3 dozen cookies over the course of two weeks! It turns out that sugar cookies served quite well as both pre-run fuel and post-run recovery snacks. :)

Reply

I still use a checkbook! You’re not the only one. Also, sugar cookies for every holiday is one of my favorite traditions as well. I actually made them for my husband on our first Valentine’s Day in high school. :)

Reply

I’m ordering a pair of the black ones too. I’ve been contemplating buying a pair of Brooks (I am a die hard Mizuno fanatic)- so I figure this is a good time to try one of their best products at a cheaper price! :) Can’t lose in that scenario! Thanks!

Also those cookies look phenom.

And Brooke is giving me baby fever. Tell her to stop being so cute :)

Reply

Brooke looks so cute delivering her Valentines! I am not running today because my foot is also bothering me. Boo for injuries.

Reply

I’d love to grant your request on Feb 13th, but I haven’t been able to find a donut place near me that’s friendly for my allergies. I wonder if I can make my own fritters. Okay. Now that’s a good idea…

Reply

I tried to order them, but I never saw that extra discount at check out. The shoes were still $69. Any code I should be adding?

Reply

Hmmm this is really strange! I didn’t have to use a code… Maybe the extra discount was yesterday only!

Reply

I ran into the same problem but sport chalet has them for $59 which isn’t bad!

Reply

I just went to buy more and the extra 30% off must have ended. Do you have an REI membership?

Reply

Bummer! I do… no problem tho.. I’m just happy that I can get them on clearance at most places. I’m obsessed with these shoes too!

Reply

Abby- I just ordered the exact same pair that Janae did at runningwarehouse.com. Use the coupon code fb15d at checkout for 15% off discounted price. Total price for the shoes = $50.90 shipped with free returns if needed. You can use the code fb15d on any of running warehouses liquidation items and get 15% off. Hope it works for ya!

Reply

Coupon code worked for me! Thanks for sharing! :)

Happy Birthday-eve!! I can definitely help you out and have an apple fritter tomorrow, it would be my pleasure actually. hahaha

I ran 5 miles solo on the treadmill this morning while watching How I Met Your Mother on Netflix. It was fun!

Happy day before your birthday!

Reply

I LOVE that show. Thanks Amanda and have a great day!

Reply

So mad I missed the deal! I plan on working, writing Valentine’s Day cards with my girls and hopefully running before the Noreaster comes. Wish I got those sneakers at such a great price but I just bought new sneakers so I couldn’t justify the cost.

Reply

Brooke with her cards was adorable.
I’ve got speed work on deck today and the some circuit training.

Reply

Those sugar cookies look so good & cute!
My birthday should be a holiday because I take it pretty serious.

Reply

What is the name of the company that does the workout clothes parties? I would love to host one!

Reply

I have practice with my team (every day), then I’m working at my new job, which I love! Running as my job is a blast, but I like to do something else too!
Oh, and I have Bible study tonight at Josh and Carrie Cox’s. Recognize Josh’s name from Powerbar? Josh is fast and a believer! :)
I love running solo, but on mid-week long runs like today (12-16 miles), it’s nice to have teammates and company. We laugh a lot!
Favorite holiday is Christmas! But, my boyfriend just surprised and told me he is coming to see me Friday! :)

Reply

I ran solo at the hotel gym this morning and I am currently working from my hotel room and watching Fresh Prince. Things could definitely be worse ;) My favorite holiday is Christmas…followed by my birthday.

Reply

Happy early birthday!

Reply

Those cookies looked amazing! I just paid my tax guy with a check, I think I’m an old man trapped in a younger body LOL.

1) work 2) prepare for valentines day 3) bike a few miles

Favorite holiday – Fathers Day because its all about me lol

Probably running solo today

http://runningschlub.blogspot.com/

Reply

I love Christmas. But really anytime I can surprise someone with am unexpected gift is my favorite.

1.clean house
2. Booty barre
3. Activity days

Reply

I definitely still write checks…especially for my credit card bill every month. I hate the feeling of just having cash get taken out of my bank account, and I love the feeling of depositing cash….so yeah checks always LOL.

I like the excuse of holidays and to be festive. So much fun.

Reply

Going to Logan to watch my sister compete in Miss USU! My cousin is in the competition too, so there will be a lot of family there. It will be so fun!

There was this donut place in St. George I was going to tell you about! It was next door to Costa Vida ;) It was a place where you can go and CHOOSE what flavor frosting and what toppings to put on it. Like a donut froyo place. Genius.

Reply

Favorite holiday HANDS DOWN is 4th of July. You can’t beat a day that consists of hot dogs, fireworks, and swimming.

I’m taking the afternoon off work today, we FINALLY have some sunshine and I’ll be getting in a solo run. Can’t wait!

Reply

Haha I guess we all just HAVE to get apple fritters now… Poor us!

Reply

valentines’s day is one of my favorite holidays………………… because of all the on sale candy the day after.

Reply

Feb 13 is also my best friend’s bday!!! We’ve been friends for over 28 years!

I haven’t ran in over 3 weeks due to injuries and crazy weather here in the south. Hoping to start easing back into it this weekend :)

Reply

Aw, I love the sugar cookie tradition, too cute!

We’re supposed to get a ton of snow in the DC area tonight, so hopefully getting a spot at the gym tonight!

Reply

Thank you for your old posts on braided bread. My daughter and I made them and they were so easy and delicious!

I thought my dad and I were the only people still eating apple fritters. :-)

Happy Birthday and I enjoy reading your blog!

Reply

Thank you and I am so so happy that you guys made the braided bread! It is so good! Have a great day!

Reply

3 things today, Running, Walking the Dogs, weight workout.
My favorite holiday is…My Birthday. Oh wait, that’s a personal holiday but I’m counting it anyways.
I ran solo this morning, I usually do. No one else wants to get up at 5am…
I bake sugar cookies and then I crumble them up in my vanilla froyo and it’s delicious! You need to try it, I swear it’s insanely good.

Reply

The little local bakery in my parent’s town makes these caramel apple fritters, they are topped with the most delicious caramel frosting, taste amazing and are the size of a salad plate. If I could send you one I totally would, but I guess I’ll just have to settle for eating one for you the next time I visit:)

Reply

I’ll be there tomorrow.

Reply

Wow, someone who uses checks! I haven’t met anyone recently who uses checks still. I’m all about debit cards or mobile payments. Big box retailers need to get on the mobile payment track, they should be able to take both.

Reply

Exercising solo…to a video so that certainly helps!

Reply

Hmmm three things about my day…. 1- I’m about to eat awesome burrito leftovers from last night’s dinner 2- I am excited to lay on the couch for hours tonight watching the olympics and 3- i took a nap this morning after waking up and it was the best decision ever!

Reply

Two quick questions for you about the Flows!

1. Do they fit true to size? This is way too good of a deal to pass up and so I really want to order them, but have never worn them before. I am usually a 6.5 in all my other shoes so if I order a 6.5 in these will they fit??

2. Any clue how long this deal will be lasting?? I am currently injured and can’t run :( so I’m afriad if I buy these too soon I’ll be tempted to run, buuuuut I also don’t want to miss out on this incredible deal!! Ugh dilemmas! haha

Also…. HAPPY (early) BIRTHDAY!!! Hopefully I can find a gluten free apple fritter to enjoy with you on Thursday :)

Reply

I’m running 6 miles solo today on the treadmill. Thank goodness for Netflix! ;) Girlfriend if I can get my hands on an apple fritter tomorrow, I’ll eat it in honor of you!

Reply

Favorite holiday is 4th of july for sure :)

3 things i’m doing today: foam rolling and resting, training at the gym & wedding planning!

Reply

Works as usual. Run after work unless it is a downpour (rain, darkness, crappy Utah drivers = hazardous) then I will hit up the gym for some burpees, ab and arm work. My favorite holiday is Easter! It’s the beginning of Spring , trees and flowers in bloom and fabulous running temps. I always always run solo for two reasons: I consider it me time and it is when I do a lot of thinking and decision making to clear my head. Second, I can’t get anyone to run with me, hopefully that will change soon as I am trying to get my 16 yo daughter into running – a slow process!

Reply

That’s the thing I think most places are missing: more delicious donut shops.

Reply

3 things:
-Leading the stroller group run at the local running store
-2 hours for getting my nails done and reading while the tot visits the grandparents
-meal planning/shopping list for the next two weeks

Running with the stroller group today…it’s a good thing I have that commitment because it’s windy and raining and I would so skip it today if I didn’t have a group of running parents counting on me!

Favorite Holiday has to be New Years Day…it’s a day full of college football, yummy food, and the day I met my husband!

Reply

Eeek, I HATE when I forget my wallet. You’re already hooked on the food, and now you can’t have it. SAD.

I’m going running, unpacking and probably eating a lot :-)

Favorite Holiday: Christmas

Running alone today

Reply

1. Solo 5 mile run in the wind.
2. Follow up appointment at SCCA, a little nervous about this.
3. Dinner with a friend, happy about this!

My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. Lots of good food and no stress of gift giving.

Reply

1. History 2. Physics 3. RUN! And Im going to need it after all that information overload…

Reply

3 Things Today!

1) Day 3 of my half marathon training. Running the Grand Canyon Half in May and maaaybe the Utah Valley Half in June but that’s TBD.
2) First day of a journalism seminar I am teaching for the next few weeks.
3) Hoping my husband gets home at a decent hour because it’s busy season and that has not been happening lately.

I have always run solo because I stress myself out about matching pace. But I have a running date for the first time on Friday and I’m actually really looking forward to it!

Reply

Running solo today :/ Running with friends >>> running solo
Happy early Birthday to one of the coolest people I wish I knew in real life ;) You should know that you’re an inspiration, a great person, and a wonderful mother! I look forward to your posts every day!

Reply

3 things today…

1. Work
2. Eat
3. Rest/Recover

My leg has been bothering me lately but I decided to run last night anyways…well today it REALLY hurts! Time for some rest and foam rolling.

My favorite holiday would have to be St. Patrick’s Day for the simple fact that it is the ONLY holiday that my husband has been home for every single year since we got married (he’s in the military, so he misses lots of stuff). I’m not sure how this happens, but he always manages to be home! We aren’t even Irish, but that doesn’t stop us from donning crazy outfits and drinking green beer :)

I always run solo–partly because I prefer to run alone, and partly because I don’t have any friends here to run with even if I wanted to! Isn’t that sad?!

Reply

I’ve been craving apple friters like crazy lately! Must be because your birthday is coming up ;) I was planning to have one on Saturday after my long run.

Reply

I never carry the check book….the only place that still takes checks and actually prefers them is the local DVM~it actually kind of bugs me b/c I have to plan to have a check with me when renewing my license tabs. Other than that I do use checks for the offering basket at church. ;-)

Reply

You may already know about this site, but http://www.runningwarehouse.com/catpagesale.html?ccode=SALEWS has Brooks PureFlow 2s for $60 and you can use the code FB15D you get an extra 15% off!

I’ve been back and forth about buying some. I usually wear Brooks Glycerins, but my current pair is coming up on 6 months (I never keep track of how many miles… bad habit!), so I’m thinking a new pair will be needed soon. Have you ever work Glycerins and would you have a comparison?

Thanks! Love your blog. :-)

Reply

LOL – check book? What is that? I have cheques/checks but only really use them to pay daycare and random school stuff. I do not carry them with me.

I love apple fritters – I usually have one a week. I guess I will have an extra one just for you!

I ran alone at the track last night for a speed workout – but my two co-coach friends were at the track yelling random things like “suck it up buttercup” to me…meanies

Reply

Thank you for the running shoes tip! I totally purchased some for when my shoes wear out!

I don’t normally eat sugary breakfast, but I will try to find an apple fritter to celebrate your birthday! Any excuse to eat a donut is a good excuse!!

3 Things Today:
1. Work-boo!
2. Quick run of 3 miles
3. 2 games of volleyball

Reply

SO cute that she made valentines & cookies & delivered them!! She is such a doll, and you’re such a good mama!

Reply

Should I ruin your day now or later ;)
I bought the same PureFlow 2s yesterday from runningwarehouse.com for $50 plus free two day shipping. (They were actually $59 but I found a 15% off code online)

Hopefully I like them, I have been a Nike Free girl for years but I’m look for some variety…best part of runningwarehouse is they offer 90 day returns so I can try them out for a decent amount of miles and return them if they don’t work for me.

Reply

Going on a snow adventure and walking to Starbucks :)

Reply

Well as far as donut shops in Utah, is Draper there is a store called beyond glazed that is really yummy. And branburry Cross donuts in SLC. SOooooo good

Reply

I was just having this conversation with someone on Sunday. I still use checks but not at stores anymore. I use my debit card there. Sometimes you just need a check. I pay my tithing by check, it’s easier for me to keep track of it. It’s also nice to have checks when you realize you owe somebody money and you don’t have any cash on you. (which is usually the case for me). Overall though, I think checks are dying out!

Ok, I don’t know what the deal is with Utah and donut shops. We know not to even crave them while we are there visiting. There are 2 donut stores within walking distance from me (here in CA).

Reply

I drive past a 24 hour yum yums on the drive home from my group runs and it takes the majority of my self control to not stop there every single time.
But tomorrow I will because you just begged me to and how can I say no?

Reply

Instead of running today, I went ice skating — wow, it was harder than I remember it being! :)

Reply

My favorite holiday is definitely Christmas, I’m still sad it’s over! Three things happening today are 1-My mom is hopefully getting out of the hospital. Appendix rupture=no fun. 2-It’s supposed to snow a foot! 3-Sleep. Haven’t had enough of it lately! Not getting a run today and don’t know when I will be able to. I don’t even know what happened, but Monday on my long run a pain shot through my foot and it’s hurt ever since. Can barely walk on it much less run. I’ve been finding consolation in chocolate and enormous salads from my favorite salad bar. :-)

Reply

There’s a place in San Francisco called Bob’s Donuts that has AMAZING apple fritters. Bob’s is always on “Best Donut Shop in America” lists, too, so the other donuts are also awesome!

Reply

I only write checks for my daughter’s preschool. I can remember when gas stations took checks though. In college, that saved me sometimes. ha ha

I love me a good sugar cookie! We are making cookies tonight for Valentine’s day.

That’s a great deal on the PureFlows! I love mine!

Reply

When I first saw your photo of the workout clothes party, I thought “I wish that I could go to a workout clothes party!” but then I realized that it’s probably better for my bank account that I don’t go to one. :) Three things that I have going on today: 1) teaching a yoga class, 2) taking a yoga class, 3) napping (hopefully). Have a great Wednesday!

Reply

Today is the first day of my “staycation”…I went to the dr for a followup and got the results i was looking for…BENIGN! YAY!
I treated myself to a new iPhone to celebrate so it’s restoring to my backup now.
Duncan (my dog) and I are meeting my friend and her dogs so we can take a nice long pack walk and get the dogs tired so we can “hunker down” before tomorrows big snow storm.

My favorite holiday is my birthday. It’s the only occasion i really get to feel special.

It’s a rest day for me but i ran solo yesterday and I’ll probably run solo on Friday after the storm. And Saturday I’m running with friends in a 10k trail race near my home.

ooooh I better get an apple fritter tonight so i’ll have it to celebrate your birthday with during the storm. My friend’s birthday is tomorrow too!

Reply

My favorite holiday is definitely Christmas! I love that you make and decorate sugar cookies for every holiday. :) Today I am running solo like normal. I had some friends I ran with in college, but since I moved I haven’t had anyone to run with. :(

Reply

yes… you are the only one who still writes checks. LOL. I only write a check to pay rent and my nail girl (only because she doesn’t take cards!)

I want some sugar cookies. puh-lease? I get to play SAHM tomorrow and Friday, so leave Brookers at home and come visit me in the RSV germ fest apartment. ;)

I’m going to work for a half day today, I cleaned the house (my MIL is watching Ford, so I had to clean) and I will come home and snuggle the shiz out of Ford when I get home. ;)
My fav holiday is probably Christmas. I just love it! the decor, the lights, the family time, lil baby Jesus…
no running today, unless running to the crib to pick Ford up counts?!

Reply

There’s such a thing as a workout clothes party?? Are there hostess gifts? How do I find out about such things? Googling right after I give you my list of 3 things:
1. Work
2. Take my Girlie to her gymnastics class.
3. Circuit training at home, likely while watching Doctor Who.

Reply

Oh my gosh – A workout clothes party?! What a great idea! I think I found the perfect idea for my next birthday party! haha

Solo tempo run this morning. My training schedule is all over the place this week so I’m missing out on my buddy runs :( sadness!

Reply

This morning I did some writing for work, and took care of my sweet baby girl :) No running since I am still recovering from having her, but I am really really really excited to start running again! My favorite holiday is most definitely Christmas because my family has a ton of fun Christmas traditions that I absolutely love :)

Reply

Oh my gosh, those cookies!

Today I am focusing on staying warm, going for a snowy run, and watching the Olympics. I got to leave early today because of snow and I am oh so excited.

My favorite holiday = Christmas with my family

I’m running with my husband today!

Reply

Went solo yesterday and today… and hopefully not tomorrow. Marathon training is hard and mentally draining. Luckily I got my 20 miler in with friends. Can’t beat the weather in AZ this week though. I’ll definitely eat a fritter tomorrow and chalk it up to carb loading =)

Reply

Today’s my birthday!! I already went out to eat with my husband on Monday, but we’re having my favorite dinner tonight: Baked Mac & Cheese! Wait, how old am I?! My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving- time with family and tons of eating, plus you still have all of Christmas season to look forward to! But right now I am just dying for the warm weather.

Also, have you tried Banbury Cross Donuts in Salt Lake? I’ve heard they are delicious, oh and they’re right by Trader Joe’s! It’s only like 5 minutes from me, but I haven’t been over there yet…tomorrow might be the perfect excuse to go…or today ;) Hope you have a happy happy birthday tomorrow!

Reply

You can get Pure Flow 2’s for $50 on http://www.runningwarehouse.com. Used the discount code FB15D.

Reply

So umm my birthday is next week. I would not be sad to get some of those sugar cookies in the mail. Just sayin :)

Reply

We have the same birthday! Happy, day early, birthday to you! :)

Reply

So I have to tell you… you were really mean to me in my dream! Ha. I had a dream that you lived just about a mile from me and I was all excited, but was also thinking “Geez, why would she want to do anything with me? She’s so cool and I’m… not! Plus she has all these really awesome friends and I have absolutely no friends” and I was wanting to ask if you would go on a run with me because it might help me with speed and form and all of that stuff, but I’m 3-4 mm slower than you are. And I don’t remember what you did, but you were mean. =( Ha, but anyway.

3 things that have happened so far today: ran 3.5 miles (2 with one dog, switched dogs for the other 1.5) then came back, took my puppy for a .75 mile walk (Yes, that makes 3 dogs)… so I guess that’s two things. Um, then I made a shake for breakfast.

Favorite holiday… I don’t really know, to be completely honest. This last Christmas kind of sucked because I had to work so I couldn’t really do much, and I was away from my family for the first Christmas ever. I’m gonna say July 4!

And I didn’t run solo today… I ran with dogs!

I am so sorry! I promise I would be friends with you in real life:)

I’m so jealous that Brooke wears those headbands. They are so cute, but my daughter won’t have anything to do with them. 3 things going on today….planning my daughters 2nd birthday party….crossfit…and hopefully some baking.

I don’t think I have a favorite holiday. Blasphemy I’m sure! Now that my kids are adults I love when they are all at my house. Crazy I know, but just having them here makes it the best day ever! They all have jobs and lives and crazy stuff like that.

I have a Valentines date this year (first one since divorce). What what what!?! I’m not sure there is enough time for the proper physical interventions before Friday.

Running alone. I love running alone, gives me time to think and clear the head. I love running with friends even more, but running alone needs to be mixed in too. The only problem is that it takes me forever to get going when I’m alone. It’s going to happen. Even in the rain.

The sugar cookies look so good!
3 things going on today: abs and arms at the gym with a friend and treadmill work, studying for the MCAT, and trying out a new recipe tonight for my family! Finally making something off my recipe board on Pinterest ;)
Favorite holiday: thanksgiving and Christmas, love them both!

Those sugar cookies look amazing! They’ve always been my favs since childhood. I love Christmas the best though (although there aren’t any sugar cookies!). I’ve just gotten into running for the new year and am just searching blogs and sites for tips and info. Yours is nice! Oh, 3 things: I have to run this evening, talk to granddad and edit a blog post! Stay encouraged!

Janae…in case you didn’t see my above post…if your readers can’t get the discount at REI, I just ordered the exact same pair that you did at runningwarehouse.com. Use the coupon code fb15d at checkout for 15% off discounted price. Total price for the shoes = $50.90 shipped with free returns if needed. You can use the code fb15d on any of running warehouses liquidation items and get 15% off…I’ve been using it for a couple of years. Looks like they have all sizes including half sizes between 6 and 11. Also in pink.

I ran solo super early today hoping to catch a beautiful sunrise, but it was just so-so…

Three things today:
1. I went shopping before the huge storm hits tonight
2. I caught up on a lot of paperwork between clients today
3. I’m typing this while my son makes chocolate amaretto mousse :-)

Sorry about that odd reply! I was going to thank you for the discount code and I guess my comment to Janae ended up as a reply to you! Anyway, thank you! :-)

Haha, glad someone could benefit :).

Bowman’s in Kaysville has delicious fritters! Apple, raspberry, blueberry. Come on up Janae and I’ll buy you some. And they are half off after 7 each night.

Thank you SO much for the heads up on the PureFlow sale! They’re all I wear and I’m due for a new pair but have been dancing around not wanting to drop $100+ on a new pair.

I had to laugh at your burrito story. Once I stopped at McDonalds for a large DC (for $1!), and when I got to the window to pay I realized I didn’t have my wallet (or my checkbook, haha). I started searching for coins in my car, but only came up with like 30 cents. I apologized to the lady and told her I didn’t have any money and to cancel my order. She laughed at me and said not to worry about it – just would just type in a coupon or something, and handed me my pop. Such a relief, though I was pretty embarrassed by the whole thing!

I used to be a solo runner but in the winters NEED others.
I love donut holes. A variety of a few flavors…and so easy to pop in my mouth!
My dinners have been really late lately and that is okay…whatever needs to happen in this season of my life.

Lots of love and thoughts for you! Happy Birthday! Hope you celebrated well.
Any commentary on PureFlow2 versus 3? (I just switched to PF3 from Mizuno Riders….curious for your thoughts on how different the 2 versus 3 are! Obviously, would love to snag a couple of 2s if they’re pretty similar to the 3s which I’m loving so far! Thanks for any input/thoughts/comparisons you might have!) Already planning on a fritter/donut indulgence on your behalf this weekend!
