I was gone from blog world for an entire day.  I know.  It felt very weird to not sit down and write down every detail of my life for a full 24 hours.  This weekend was a really fun one and we stayed very busy.  I like weekends like that.

My Saturday morning long run was a cold one this week.   This run was done on very little sleep so I am happy that I even got out there with the girls.  Like usual, I am always so happy once I get out there and start my run that I didn’t push the snooze button when my alarm tells me to get up.  12.3 miles to start off February.

We had a special event to get to yesterday morning.

My niece was baptized!  She is one incredible little girl and I am so grateful to be able to spend so much time with her now that we are living so close to them.

Nothing like getting 4 girls together to go up to Deer Valley to eat a four course meal.  Jess was in town for the weekend so of course we had to go hang out at a restaurant for 3 hours to catch up on everything.

We went to Fireside (if you ever come to Utah you absolutely must eat here) at the Empire Canyon Lodge.

Picture including our first course (my favorite course).  Just imagine a plate full of delicious Swiss raclette cheese that you eat with potatoes and bread.  Perfection.

Each of the four courses is served from the stone fireplaces.  The second course had stews, beef short ribs and fish and the third course had lamb and amazing cauliflower.

I take it back, this was probably my favorite course of the night.

Laying down and rubbing our stomachs is just what had to happen after a meal like the one that we had last night.

See you in the afternoon with this week’s running summary!

Yes, it did seem a bit quiet over in HRG land. You have the best outings with friends. Or you should work for Utah tourism b/c you make it look great and I actually feel the need to vacation there now. ha! ;-)

Maybe you should contact Disney to see if they want to build a Disney Utah or something.

I love Deer Valley! And that did look like an amazing meal. When my hubs and I eat out there, we always go to Goldenir Hirsch, which is also amazing.

Your Saturday was much more exciting than mine. The sleet we got Friday kept coming down until early yesterday morning. I finally went to work early afternoon. I made the fastest trip for one thing at Costco. (So sad I didn’t get to spend time browsing! But I did see really cute workout jackets for less than $20 in six different colors. I will be back to check those out this week!) I was in a hurry because I wanted to get to the gym before they closed at 7 PM. And I did! Worked out with my oldest daughter and then home to watch a movie with my girls.

What motivates you to get up at 430 am to run? I’m 8 months post partum and haven’t run farther than 5 miles. As a stay at home mom with two step kids plus my baby, the only time I could run is early am. I’m not going to lose these last 10 pounds if I don’t. I have run 3 Fulls, countless halfs, 3 ten milers and several Misc races! I want to get back! I’m never going to be as fast or thin as you:(. But I just want to get “me” back!!! Help!
