The time my sister cursed my name.

My sis and I had a two part workout yesterday.

1.  Sprints around the house chasing Brooke.  This is Brooke’s absolute favorite game right now and she squeals the entire time we chase her around.  Girlfriend has speed.

2.  A nice little run outside together.  This is a picture of my sister cursing my name.  I ‘accidentally’ jumped in a puddle and it somehow splashed my sister and got her foot wet.

We ran 4.2 miles and then her back started hurting really bad (boooo) so we walked home but it was really nice because we were able to have a really good conversation together.

IMG 6589

Chicken and a sweet potato for lunch (my lunch lately) at home and a mandatory stop with Paige.  I go through froyo phases and didn’t have it for weeks but this last week I have had it almost every day.  You’d think the freezing temps would slow me down but no….

IMG 6590

Spaghetti and homemade marinara and meatballs that my SIL made for dinner followed by partying at BYU.

DSC 9150

Brooke held her finger up for a lot of the volleyball game to communicate that BYU is #1.

DSC 9151

My nieces competed in the push-up contest and they each did 20 more push-ups than I have ever done.  They nailed it and they won the competition because everyone cheered for them like crazy.

DSC 9154

Brooke really loves sporting events.

DSC 9165

She can’t even take her eyes off of the game for a picture.

And then we found an underground tunnel.  A successful night.

DSC 9169

Goonies.  We watched it last night.  It was my first time ever seeing it.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY!?!   Eat anything delicious last night?

We’re hunkering down today as we have flood & wind warnings. I joked about runnung w/the BOB in 40 mph winds, but now that they’re up to 60-70 gusts, no thanks!

Currently revising for nursing exam. LOTS of pictures to keep it interesting. Fast and Frugal reasoning currently (clinical decision making). ‘Fast’ = searching for funny pictures of treadmills/cheetahs/running/anything fast. Great picture i’ll send you in an email that made me think of you and your sister’s treadmill dates (idk how to post a picture here).

All I have to say is, “Baby Ruth!”

I love the Goonies:) When I was a girl it made me believe in real treasure hunts. My older brothers drew up maps and we would trek around searching for our own jewels!

Brooke might be a future Olympian!

Dinner last night was burgers in the grill compliments of my dad. With all the sides and fixings! Yummy in my belly. Today, my boyfriend and I are celebrating our two and a half year anniversary because I enjoy celebrating the halfs too.

I ate froyo too! I got so excited when I saw that they had candy cane… Then I had to try the mint chocolate chip and some others, so there wasn’t room for the candy cane. Guess I’ll just have to go back! As for other exciting things, I went and saw The Hobbit with my brothers! Are you a Tolkien/Lord of the Rings fan?

Noah loves the “chase me around the house” game too! It’s so fun to hear them laugh and squeal! Last night for my sil bday my mil made green chile chicken enchiladas and they had three different Cheesecake Factory cheesecakes!!! Dulce de leche stole the show but red velvet and the 30th anniversary flavor were amazing too :)

My kids love to be chased, too! There’s nothing like hearing them squeal with excitement.
My friend and I have gone for fro yo when it was 7 degrees out…we don’t mess around!

Reply

Love the Goonies!! It was one of my favorites when I was a kid :)

Reply

It took me forever to see the Goonies, too. I didn’t see it until I was in college. I think it’s one of those movies you have to see as a kid, in order to love it. Short run in the rain today, then plan on visiting MY sister who just had surgery.

Reply

What!? Your first time watching Goonies!!??? You have not been living!

Reply

My hubby and I just ran ten miles in the cold rain and now I’m all snuggled up in my flannel pants and sweatshirt ready to relax the day away!

Fun Fact. Part of the Goonies was filmed here in my little northern California town. We have a lot of fun claims to fame like that.

Reply

last night I had a delicious omelette from my favorite diner and went home and got to eat a CHOCOLATE PB CAKE with my family :)

Reply

I started the morning with some quality peanut butter cookies and my addiction of carbonation (just a little cup, I only take a little). I’m allowed carbonation because I can’t have chocolate, caffeine or alcohol so…I drink soda. We all get a vice, People. That’s mine. A great breakfast of champions.

My little grandson is going to come over and spend the day with me and I would love to video him saying, “STOP ittttt”. Because it’s hilarious. Isn’t anything they say at three cute? Yes, I think so.

I have never seen Goonies. And it came out when I was a teenager. So there. You have all my secrets.

Reply

I am thoroughly impressed with your nieces doing pushups. And they even have great form! My girls always do butt presses, where they lift their butts up and down.

We had bacon alfredo with chicken. It’s a favorite in my house.

Goonies for the first time?! How did you like it? I’m not sure I’d love it so much had I not been a kid when I first saw it.

Reply

AWWW your nieces are the bravest! I would not have gotten up there and done pushups! I’m currently drinking a homemade peppermint latte and figuring out what to do this weekend :)

Reply

It’s my three year olds birthday party! It’s just family and friends so it’s still fairly small, but it’ll be fun!

Today I am going to see the Hercules movie with Kellan Lutz and I am really excited! I don’t know if it will be good or not, but I have been wanting to see it. Last night my hubby and I ate with my family and they had chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes, mixed veggies, corn, and a creamy gravy. It was super good :)

Last night was date night so we tried out a new to us brewery type restaurant. The food was..okay. I loved the atmosphere though! It was really dim and loud. I have the most fun people watching in places like that.

Reply

Oh no! I hope your sister’s back is ok! Back issues are kind of scary to me. Brooke is the cutest with her #1. She seems like such an adventurous kid!

Btw – didn’t have a chance to comment earlier, but the day you went to the track this week, I was thinking of crashing on my couch, but after reading about your workout I got pumped and ran some intervals on the treadmill. Thanks for the inspiration! I’ve been really discouraged about the fitness I’ve lost over the past year or so and I can use all the inspiration I can get!

Reply

I started my day in Santa Monica celebrating a friend’s birthday by doing TRAPEZE!! A little scary at first, but it’s thrilling and gets your heart pumping!!

I slept all day today because I finally got hit with the flu. It happens at least once a season for me so I knew it was coming.

My boyfriend and I’s latest thing is making pizza and testing the ingredients. We started making indivudal size pizzas in the toaster oven with wraps/tortillas. It’s actually been so delicious. Last night we went back to larger size pizzas and made chicken pizza and barbecue chicken pizza w/ green peppers and onions. Both were delicious. I can’t talk him into trying a dessert pizza.

Reply

Yum! My husband and I do pizza night once a week and always make different flavors. BBQ chicken pizza is also really good with cilantro on top!

I hope your sister feels better soon! Looks like a great day!

Brooke is seriously loving that game!

Are you sure you didn’t accidentally on purpose jump in a puddle and splash your sister?

Anyway, although cocktail hour is few and far between at my house these days, I wanted to come up with a fun twist on the fruity drink to make when we have family in town later this month for Christmas. Champagne Sangria Punch is it! Bubbly champagne is mixed with wine-soaked winter fruits including kiwi, oranges, and pomegranate arils, then finished with a splash of orange juice to sweeten each sip.
