15 miles and the Sundance Film Festival (I tried really hard to find a celebrity…)

13 miles somehow turned into 15 miles and I am okay with that.  As soon as our watches beeped 15 miles we walked the last little bit to our cars, we were spent

5 miles warm-up, 5 miles @ 6:35 average pace (we were shooting for 6:30-6:40 so I feel good about that pace), 5 miles cool-down.   I was really happy because we didn’t have to stop once during the tempo portion for a stop light because once I have to stop running it is really hard for me to get going again.

I actually don’t know if I know how to run without these girls anymore;)

The Brookster and I got ready as fast as we possibly could because we had an important brunch to get to.   Remember when I used to teach high school?  We got to go see some of my old favorite teacher friends and catch up on everything.  It has been way too long since I saw these peeps…  I miss seeing them every day.

(From my Instagram!  Brooke’s outfit from Five Gates Boutique)

After a nap and salads at home we had a very important program to go to.

My sister’s husband is on a slam dunk team.  They are incredible and he was doing all sorts of flips and tricks without any mistakes.  It was so fun to see him do these crazy stunts.

Last day of the Sundance Film Festival= we really needed to get up there to see something good.

Gotta love Main Street.  It was way busier than usual but I didn’t find any celebrities like I was hoping I would.

We found an awesome little restaurant to grab some dinner.

They serve tacos and pizza in the same building.  Why isn’t that a standard thing?

And then it was movie time.  We saw Mitt and I loved it.  It has been a few weeks since my last movie, I have really cut down lately;)

It was a pretty great day from start to finish.

Enjoy your Sunday and do something relaxing today (because that is all I am going to be doing today).

Wow that sounds like a seriously awesome run. It looks like you are getting back into great shape for running and I know you are going to crush some series PR’s this spring.

This weekend for me is all about relaxing. I go for a run but past that I’ve been sitting indoors and enjoying my time. Have a great Sunday!

That restaurant looks so cozy! And how do you join a slam dunk team?! That is so freaking cool.

I love that restaurant! I went snowboarding in Park City a few years ago and it was so nice to see a picture of main street. I want to be there now! :)

And I love Brooke’s headband. It is adorable.

What a fun day! That slam dunk competition looked like the most fun thing ever to watch. How did his team do?

Which celeb were you hoping to see? I heard Anna Kendrick is at Sundance and I love her. If I met her I’d prob be creepy and tell her we should be bff’s and it would weird her out. Haha

Also, you’re my running idol. Serious. “Oh, it’s supposed to be 13 miles today, but let’s just make it 15 for fun. No big deal” lol amazing!!

6:35. Dang, girl! You were killing it! I’ve been trying to increase my speed and mileage and ended having knee problems that I spent weeks trying to diagnose (using google, the most scientific and reliable method, of course). Would you believe that running (while basically out of shape) gave me…runners knee? Shocking, I know. ;) so looks like I need to get on the foam rolling bandwagon, start stretching better, and do more strengthening exercises (and by more, I mean any). Love your blog! :) miss seeing you!

Hey…you speak sarcasm, too. I think they should honor us with language degrees. We have clearly earned them. Nice job, fellow sarcastic Friend. Nice job.

You had such an amazing day!
This restaurant looks amazing. What are these things on the walls?

Reply

I love that you run 15 miles oh just for fun! You rock.

Brooke’s is way too cute. I have to find a way to get my 14 month old to let me put cute accessories in her hair. So far I can only get away with little bows. :)

That’s nice you are so close to the sundance festival. Awesome.

I hope you have a super amazing Sunday!!

Are those beer cans all over the walls? Pizza and tacos sounds like an excellent idea.

I get to pick up my new treadmill today! No more awkward trying-not-to-fall-on-the-ice running (unless I want to) :)

Holy cow your brother in law is awesome! And awesome run :) we are having my
Parents over and hanging out by the pool (the high is 70!!) so will definitely be relaxing. Have a great Sunday!

Reply

Are those books on the wall of the restaurant? Looks very cool! I like how eclectic it is!

We are going to have another beautiful Sunday here. We have another new trail to explore today. It’s going to be a fantastic day outside with temps in the high fifties! We have to get it in before the temps drop tomorrow. High then will only be 12 degrees. Yuck!

Pizza and tacos in one place = YAY!

Looks like it was an awesome Saturday!

I love the runs when I don’t have to stop for stop lights, ha. It’s the little things that mean the most, right?! Brooke’s outfit is too adorable! And your brother in law?! Holy cow is that awesome! Have a nice relaxing day. I am doing the same!

That sounds like a pretty dang good day! I only wish I could run like you, too! We got some more snow here in Mass., which makes me want to be lazy, but today is long run day for me. I can’t wait!

Love Brook’s outfit, especially the headband. I need to know where you got that scarf, I love it!!!

Happy Sunday!

Reply

when you have a long run like that, do you have a nap too? We have been having horrible weather around here. We got about 3 inches of new snow on Friday night, and another 4 overnight last night and tomorrow and Tuesday the high is sub zero.

Reply

Tacos + Pizza= a glimpse of heaven. I am sure that they belong together.

Reply

That’s so cool that you can go to Sundance — too bad about the lack of celebrities! :)

Happy Sunday!

10 miles on for the day, grocery shopping and then i’m making your famous smore’s bars! :)

The basketball dunking and such looks fun! Kind of surprised there aren’t more peeps in the audience. (Unless they are sitting behind your camera?) ;-)

Love Brooke’s outfit :D

Slam dunk team. So awesome. I’m curious – what kind of fuel do you use on your long runs?

Isn’t it a federal crime or something to photo or video a movie in the theater? Or is it just texting that’s against the rules?

Omg I want/need Brooke’s leggings!!

I am seriously obsessed with Brookes wardrobe and need everything to come in my size. Hope you are having a great sunday!

Have been reading your blog for a month or so now and just want to tell you how much I enjoy it. I live in NYC and the last three days have run on hard-snow and thought of you and all of your pics! When some of my running pals were complaining about the cold temp and snowy paths, I told them to “chillax” and think about all of our fellow runners who live in Utah and run this on a daily basis!

ps – brooke is adorable, but of course you know that :)

Reply

yay 15 miles! you are AWESOME :) glad you had a great day!

Reply

Great run girl! I love that too-tired-to-run-one-more-step feeling at the end of a long run. Have a great rest day! Brooke’s outfit is so adorable – I hope that my future kids are half as fashionable!

Reply

That slam dunk team looked amazing! It looks like quite a calorie burner too. How’s that for a fun workout!!!!

Reply

Fun times at Sundance! Pizza and Tacos together…not bad. That reminds me of “Happy Endings” when Dave wants to start a restaurant with food from all over the world for when you can’t decide between Mexican or Japanese…

You said “I loved it” not “we loved it” to Walter Mitty. Did your sister not like it? I saw it over break with my family and we all liked it except for my silly mom! :)

Reply

One of your running friends is wearing Kinvaras….that means we’d be friends instantly!

I can’t believe how big Brookers is getting! WOW!

Reply

relaxing is the best way to spend the day :)

Reply

My family watched Mitt this afternoon, too. Then we watched Airplane, and old The Office shows. Fun, lazy afternoon!!!

Wow, your BIL is getting some air in that shot! It must have been cool to watch.

Reply

I definitely had a relaxing Sunday. I did pretty much nothing since I managed to get all of my chores, etc. done yesterday. Win!

TACOS AND PIZZA!!!

That is the best combination ever. Yum!!

Sounds like a pretty great day to me. :)

1. LOVE your scarf!
2. LOVE that Brooke’s seat doesn’t go all the way down! lol… so cute!
3. I have been craving pizza!! With Thick crust!! … ugh!!

What a fun day! Ooh and the Sundance festival, how cool that you are able to pop in!

That’s one of my least favorite parts of running in San Francisco – so tough to avoid stoplights! And your pizza + tacos combo looks awesome!

A few years ago I was in SLC for work and we had a little time to kill the last day before our afternoon flight so we went down to Sundance! Robert Downey Jr. was randomly standing behind our car chatting it up with some guy in the street. We walked around a bit and I saw a HUGE group of paparazzi huddled in one area so I asked one guy who they were waiting for. It was the Friends with Money cast- Joan Cusak and Jennifer Anniston! I was waited forever but I got to see Jen, but we did almost miss our flight home.

Reply

Sounds like a great day! Great job on the 15!
Loving Brookes outfit!

Sundance sounds amazing. I have family in SLC, one of these years I need to visit them in January.
