The perfect stocking stuffers for RUNNERS giveaway!

The plus and minus of not getting up when my alarm clock goes off in the morning:

Minus—>  I absolutely love getting my workout done first thing in the morning and finished before I even really realize what I am doing.  With each minute of the day that goes by I get lazier and lazier and less likely to work out.

Plus—–>  I got to run side by side on treadmills at the gym with my sister and talk the entire 8 miles.  I wish you guys got to know her in real life because you would then understand why I go on and on and on about how awesome she is.

The reason it looks like I haven’t seen the light of day for months is because I don’t think I have actually been outside in the daylight longer than running from my car to the gym in months.

Stretching and talking to my brother on the phone at the same time… multi-tasking at its finest.  She really loves it when I take pictures of her without her even knowing.

IMG 5186

I love adding spinach to my soup as it is cooking to get some move veggies in.  I also really love dipping my Wheat Thins into my soup to get some more carbs and deliciousness in.

houdy! Random comment for giveaway: I have a cat named Butters and she was a stray so we have no idea how old she is, but she is pretty ancient. It doesn’t stop her from being the the queen of the neighborhood and ruler of the street. Its her way or the highway. I love that about her, one kick butt ol’ lady. Also she has the loudest purr ever.

Reply

I ran for the first time in 2 months this week!! I’m recovering from a back injury and it’s been awful not being able to run. I probably looked like a goofy deer released back into the wild, but it was the happiest day of my life!!
I never enter giveaways but Brooke is such a good little model! I’m in :)

I ran in 12* weather in Michigan today, still couldn’t imagine the temps in Utah.
Do you have any advice for being careful of ice? I hit a patch of the black stuff today and nearly lost it.

Hi Janae! I just discovered your blog recently and now I’m addicted to it. I love the pictures of food and running trails and Brooke. I wish I was a morning runner. No discipline. So, the negative is struggling to find the time in the evenings to squeeze in a run. BUT, the positive is that I generally get to run with my hubby when I do evening runs. So, for me, the good outweighs the bad.

Sweet giveaway!

Since I usually run before dawn, our weather greatly affects my run schedule. We’re whining about our lows in the 40’s but realize some people’s high temps aren’t that warm. I bet they don’t go out running in the dark either. Luckily, I have my fitness room (Concept2 rower, treadmill, and newly added elliptical) to keep my training schedule and still get up at 4:15 and do my workout indoors without having to drive to my gym. My daughter and I meet at the gym after work for abs and weightlifting, we keep each other motivated. We are training for our first half-marathon in February.

Reply

Brooke is the most adorable glove model!

Reply

Hey! I’m entering!!! Keep smiling, I love reading your blog every day :) Question for you: I’m trying out some Brooks Pure Connect 2’s for the first time. Did you find that you had to go up a half size compared to your regular running shoes? Thanks!

Reply

I am in Colorado and absolutely freezing. The temps have been below zero here and I am avoiding the gym TM like the plague. I have been running when it reaches the high of the day which was 7 yesterday. I am in desperate need of warm clothes to maintain my sanity and my children’s safety. ;)

Mittens would be awesome! I have 1 measly pair of light-weight gloves that won’t stand up to the cold. Anything I can wear & stay warm without looking like little Randy on a Christmas Story (“I can’t put my arrms doowwwn!!!”) while I run is A-OK by me!! :)
