Christmas around our house this morning and the Brooks winner.

Just a few Christmas things going on in our house this morning.

You’ve got to try making pancakes (of course with chocolate chips) with cookie cutters.

She liked them. PS I think Brooke is officially a righty even though I was hoping she would be a lefty like me.

Brooke checks her stocking every morning to see if it is full yet.

Just kind of pretty.

This ornament was my absolute favorite one as a kid (there are kittens inside of the basket) and it has quickly become Brooke’s favorite too.

I saw a doggy stuffed animal w/ a blanket attached at Costco yesterday and thought of little Miss Brookers. Oh and you should get a dog cookie cutter to make her doggy pancakes!

I’m a lefty too! Lefties are the best, obvi. This morning I had oatmeal for breakfast super early because I ran a 15K race today! It was a PDR for me, and I think I did really well despite the freezing cold temps.

Love the cookie cutter pancakes – what a cute idea! Beautiful flowers – who’s your secret admirer? ;) I’m a righty! Oatmeal with berries was breakfast…the usual!

Hope you’re enjoying this beautiful Sunday girlfriend! xo

Reply

I’m not as cool as you – I’m right-handed! This morning I had 2 pieces of toast for breakfast as fuel for a half-marathon I did today!

Reply

I had FMW for breakfast today — just like every other day :)

Atta girl:)

Reply

I’m a righty!

Sunday tradition for us is to walk across the street to Starbucks for breakfast. Veggie artisan for me! :)

That cookie cutter idea is brilliant!!!! Also, digging the compression socks//boots combo.

Reply

ahhh the pancake cookie cutter idea is brilliant!! Love Brooke and her bun!

Reply

Righty. And, pancakes with greek yogurt instead of buttermilk (easier to keep on hand) and chopped pecans. YUM!

Reply

I’m secretly hoping that Brooke turns out to be left handed too – it’s the way to be ;-)

Reply

yay for the winner!

V is a lefty…I am a righty…

Reply

Right Handed. This morning I had some eggs and spinach and then a rice cake with peanut butter and jelly. Yeah we are short on food in the house – time to hit up the grocery store!

Reply

Righty. I had cookies for breakfast. Like 5. Then shoveled snow…. then went to the gym for my 17 miles. And ate grapes. On to making steak and yummy things for dinner!

Reply

I’m a lefty! My grandpa says I’m a “south paw.”
Ha

South Paws unite:)

I need to try those pancakes! Love the compression socks under your boots. I almost always wear mine in the winter when I am not running. They keep me warm. Breakfast today was just like every day: tortilla + tahini + eggs & fruit (and HUGE mug of coffee with almond milk & a splash of creamer). I never get tired of eating this and it was good fuel for my first outdoor run in almost 2 weeks (it has been SO cold & icy here). Happy Sunday.

I love that Brooke checks her stocking everyday. She is going to be pretty pumped one day soon :) I had blueberry waffles with sunbutter for breakfast before a cold run!

Reply

Right-handed! But I so wish I were a lefty – I don’t know why, but I’ve always been intrigued by lefties!

And I’m a little ashamed to say that I didn’t really eat breakfast this morning because I partied a little too hard with some college friends last night!

Reply

Right handed…and this morning I had an amazing bacon and egg sandwich on a bagel while waiting for our train back from New York!

Reply

I love that outfit!! Too cute! I’m right handed. I had eggs, chicken apple maple sausage, and grapes….. after a few Christmas cookies. ;)

Reply

I’m a lefty too!

Reply

Had to comment to say that I ALSO HAVE THAT ORNAMENT!!! We got it as little kids and it was always a favorite for us too!! :)

Reply

AHHHHHHHHH that seriously makes my day. Does yours have the cat hanging off the yarn on the bottom too?

Reply

It does!!!! hahaha!! i love that someone else has and loves that ornament! :)

Reply

I have a question about your giveaways. Do you pick randomly, or do you look for the best comment or choose some other way?

And even though this doesn’t have a lot to do with this post, I just wanted to say thanks for continuing to inspire me (and others!) to run. I always lose motivation at this time of year, but reading hungry runner girl every day definitely helps!

Reply

Hey Lauren! Thank you so so much for your sweet words. Keep on running:) I use random.org to pick the giveaway winners. Have an awesome Sunday!

Reply

Leftover pizza for breakfast!

Reply

Miss Janae, who are the beautiful flowers from?! I had pancakes this morning too, delicious! Hope you’re having a fab Sunday…I’m dreading the start of a new work week. Take care pretty girl!

Reply

Righty!! I had Go Lean Crunch! cereal with milk! Such a cute outfit! I have compression socks on too!

Reply

I’m a righty! Although I did have to be a lefty for a couple weeks when I broke my wrist. For breakfast today I made pancakes and sausage!! Perfection.

Reply

I am SO making cookie cutter pancakes! What a cute idea!!! :) Love the little party outfit Brooke got- super fab. I love her little bun, too. I’m a righty! And I had a Starbucks peppermint mocha and yogurt with blueberries and 1/2 a bagel for breakfast :)

xo

I’m ambidextrous. Truly ambidextrous, I use both hands equally.

I had orange slices and a bagel for breakfast followed by about 9 bowls of pasta after running a holiday half marathon.

Reply

Righty that wishes she was a lefty — you guys just seem so much cooler ;) And if making pancakes in cookie cutters doesn’t require flipping, then that’s definitely something I could get on board with. I’m the absolute worst when it comes to being patient during the flipping process, which is probably why I just have oatmeal most mornings instead.

Reply

I wear compression socks under my boots all the time. I want the christmas colored ones though… you know, to be more festive :)
Righty, and granola and yogurt… then eggs as my second breakfast after a run and bodypump.

Reply

My favorite ornament was shaped like a block. It opens up on one wall to reveal a bassinet with a baby bear in it :) It was my “Baby’s First Christmas” ornament and it’s my absolute favorite

Reply

Cute little pancakes, we had boring eggs with cheese. Love the Christmas flowers, that is what everyone needs to brighten up this miserable inversion winter. Right handed.
We need to start doing speed down at the BYU indoor track with Rachelle, she will motivate us to run fast as we follow her cute little legs:)

Reply

I’m a lefty, too! I have a feeling Addie may be right-handed, though. (Of course, it’s way too early to know that, but that’s my prediction!)

Reply

Lefty!

Breakfast was biscuits, gravy, bacon, eggs, juice, coffee and Christmas cookies!

Reply

South paws unite!! None of my 3 are lefties :( Boo!
I had raisin bran crunch with almond milk and coffee.

Reply

I’m a righty. Breakfast today was a delicious egg, cheese and bacon croissant from a local deli. Those pancakes look delicious!!!

Reply

So when using cookie cutters to make pancakes do you only leave the cutter in place until the pancake starts to bubble a little? Then remove the cutter and flip as usual?

thanks ;-=)

Reply

I’m a righty, we had french toast (homemade bread!) and bacon.
My son is a lefty and he had FMW (I just bought 12 boxes because it was almost half price so we are good for about a month haha)

Reply

No wonder you’re so cool! I’m a lefty too :)

Reply

I tried to make a new concoction: pumpkin oat protein pancakes. They crumbled, so not pancakey at all, but they were delicious. I need to work on getting them to stay together and they’ll hit the blog.

Reply

We pulled these out for our daughter and I thought I Brooke and her love of dogs!

Love the cookie cutter pancakes! I had Kashi cereal for breakfast (I was in a hurry to get to church and had to grab something quick) :)

Reply

I’m right handed, but my twin sister (“mirror twin”) is left handed.

I had my usual breakfast of mini sweet bell peppers with 3 egg whites and a banana. Sunday is supposed to be my day that I actually get to eat my eggs while they’re still warm (I usually put them straight from the pan to a tupperware dish and eat it once I get to work, and my current work schedule has me working Monday-Saturday – I have to keep reminding me that the pay check will make it worth it!), but my dog decided it had been to long since I last took her out, so I had a mess to clean up before I could eat!

Reply

I’m left handed and I love it! It is funny how everyone always acts so surprised by it. It does make life kind of hard though sometimes because I feel like everything is made for right handed people and some things seem backwards for me. Like sometimes I want to drive on the other side of the road or use my left foot to drive (crazy I know!). As for breakfast this morning, I had a bowl of peanut butter Captain Crunch! Yum! I’m pregnant right now and for some reason I have really been craving cereal in the mornings :)

Reply

Adorable Brooke checking her stocking!

Right handed

Breakfast: i ate my leftover half burger from culvers and then followed it up with your smores bars that I made to take to my brother’s house. What? Im on vacation. Its totally balanced when u r on vacation.

Reply

I’m a righty and so are my girls.

Today for breakfast, I had leftover pineapple and onion pizza. :)

Reply

right handed– so typical!

Reply

Those pancakes look amazing! And I’m a righty :)

Reply

Right handed – it was so hard to learn to knit from my left-handed grandma! :)

This morning we had nuttella-banana-french toast sandwiches! They were delicious!

Reply

Breakfast #1 is always cereal. Breakfast #2 is either an egg sandwich or chicken and cheerios!

Reply

I’m a righty! Breakfast this morning was cream of wheat with bananas, walnuts and honey. Yum! I ran the longest distance I’ve ever ran before today! 8 miles!! Refueled with homemade pizza and freshly baked oatmeal raisin cookies! My right hip kind’ve haa a little pain/soreness so I’ve been icing like crazy this evening just to be on the safe side.

Reply

I am a righty mostly. I am super uncoordinated, but when I do attempt to throw something I am a little better with my left hand, which is oddly what comes natural to me.

Reply

Right handed! Not sure what Annabelle will be just yet. She picks up food with one hand and transfers to her other hand :-).

We had stuffed French toast! The stuffing was chocolate hazelnut spread. It was so good!

Reply

French toast/hashbrowns and fruit for breakfast! So good.
I’m a righty…
I love that pancake idea. I should try it out this week.

Reply

Christmas shaped pancakes?? Wow, I bet they tasted even better than regular pancakes too! And I wouldn’t have thought that was possible! Makes my cornflakes look even more boring now!

Reply

Righty but my husband is a lefty so I’m holding out hope one of our future children will be a lefty too :) Strange fact: I’m right-handed but played baseball and tennis left-handed since I was a kid. Just felt more natural.

Reply

I’m right handed for writing but I do a lot of things with my left hand, like opening water bottles… I think that comes from the fact that my dad is left handed (although he writes with his right because his Catholic teachers forced him to…obviously he went to elementary school back in the stone ages) so I must have just mimicked what he did when I was little.

Reply

I’m a lefty! My husband is a righty, so I’m hoping our kid is a lefty, too!

For breakfast I had cereal and a smoothie.

Reply

Handedness isn’t established until kids are around 4. Early in life they tend to mirror their parents, so it’s not surprising that Brooke uses her right hand more since you are a lefty :)

Reply

Thank you so much again!! I am SUPER excited that I won :) (despite the typos in my comment…oops!).

Reply

Lefties rule!!!

My son is a lefty like me, so we are special together :) The only lefties in the entire family on both sides actually! Despite my best efforts, my daughter is a righty…good thing she’s adorable anyway.

Reply

Beautiful flowers! :) Great idea with the pancakes!

Reply

I’m a lefty too. 3 out of 4 of my kids are lefties. It pleases me very much. The funny thing is though — the righty is the most artistic of the group. Whodathunk?

I had some Starbucks for breakfast while taking the dogs to the dog park with my husband (while the kids slept in). It felt like a date. :)

Reply

Janae! I have that ornament too!! Well, my Mom has it…not me…at least not yet. ;) My sisters & I would ‘fight’ over who got to put that one on the tree. So funny!

Reply

Righty for writing, but I do most things with my left! weird!

I had half an apple, coconut greek yogurt, and some granola..yummy!!! :) My fave lately though is oatmeal with apples in it :)

Reply

I had no idea you were left handed! I am too!

Reply

totally right-handed! :)
I had… coffee for breakfast… does that count? ;)

Reply

What a cute outfit, I can’t wait to see Brooke in that!

Reply

Aw I’m a lefty too! And for breakfast today I had maple & brown sugar oatmeal with a spoonful of crunchy peanut butter mixed in, aka my breakfast every single day!

Reply

Right handed. Oatmeal!
