Buried in snow and the cook is back.

The below picture should give you a pretty good guess about where my workout occurred this morning.  The gym.

1 mile (7:10), pump class, 5 miles (8:00 pace).  The gym was absolutely packed.  Every single treadmill was taken and everyone was walking in with big eskimo coats.

There is at least another two inches on the ground since I took this picture and it is still snowing.

That poor chair.

How Brooke is staying warm this season:

My mom wanted me to make sure to tell you that the vest isn’t real fur;)  It is from Gymboree and I could not pass it up.

(Instagram: hungryrunnergirl)

I don’t really know how she feels about the snow yet.  We both only lasted 60 seconds out in it this morning.

IMG 4831

I promise that I will not post 500 pictures of Brooke in her vest every time that she wears it.

PS I am still in my sweats… getting Brooke ready > getting ready myself.

Made lunch for my dad today.

Mine was on the left and his is the fancy looking one.  Mine had a base of guac and then I topped it with spinach, chicken and I added more bbq sauce after.  Janae the cook is back (my definition of a cook = a person that puts 5 or less ingredients together and then wraps it in a tortilla or some other form of carbohydrate).

My dad loved his!

The snow is killing me! We flew to Denver last night and were stuck at the Airport until the weather cleared a smidgen in Rock Springs. Our landing was sketchy that is for sure! Thank god for awesome pilots! Of course, I had to drive home today. 4 hours. Grrrr! Took up my running time!

No snow but I am sure not going to complain about the 75 degree weather today. Sadly, it will not last and we are expecting yucky sleet later this week. Dumb, Texas weather!

Your sister should most definitely start a blog!!! Do it. NOW! Pick your URL and GO!!!

Reply

I think it would be great if your sister started blogging! It would be like a spin off of your blog. ;) I’m not going to be getting any snow today, but I looked at the current conditions of a mountain that’s a little ways away and it’s 19 degrees and just about to snow. YAY!

Reply

Your sister should start a blog!!! I love yours, so I cannot imagine I would not enjoy hers :)
We got enough snow to make the ground a little white, but Northern MN should end up with about 15-16″ by tomorrow! So glad I don’t live up north :)
You can check out my lunch on my instagram :) I have found a new favorite…scrambled eggs with cheese and whatever else will fit in a low-carb wrap! Oh, and my other new favorite is white, baby sweet potatoes. Talk about addicting!!!!!
I have a question for you :) Awhile ago, you posted your favorite boots…Steve Madden brown boots. I’m looking for the same ones but I cannot find the post with them :) Which boots are they??!! Thank you :)

Pictures of Brooke make my day.

Yes, your sister should start a blog! Yay!

I had turnips, squash, green beans, a veggie loaf made with beans and protein powder, all topped with cranberry sauce, and half an avocado for lunch. Yes, it was tasty!

I was with you on the treadmill today! I kind of liked it though. Watching season 1 of How I Met Your Mother on Netflix makes the time pass quickly.

Have a good night!

HRG Sister, what are you waiting for? DO IT!

And no snow here, but “they’re” callin’ for an ice storm just ahead of St. Jude Memphis this weekend. Ugh, BOO! This is a goal race for me, and I don’t need to be slippin’ and slidin’ all over the place. You ever ice skated a marathon? You’d for sure get the sub-3!

i would totally read your sister’s blog! I have thought about that before – she needs to do it ASAP!

My boss took me out to lunch and a greasy spoon place & I had a blt with some fries. It was a going away lunch. I only have 2.5 weeks left of work until my little boy will be here.

Snow today. Snow yesterday. Snow the day before… lol it’s been snowing up a storm up here in Alberta. But at least things are looking all gorgeous and Christmasy.

Brooke is looking adorable in her vest — she’s probably more fashionable at 1 than I am at 28 :P And the little ears on the hood are just too darn cute.

Reply

If she’s thinking about starting a blog, I’d say go for it – they’re a lot of fun!
And we got a ton of snow about a week and a half ago, but it’s actually starting to melt now!

Reply

Snow looks very cold, you can have it. I don’t think I need it, besides, we have sand and I sort of like it.

For lunch I had a bagel and biscoff, it’s a staple in this house.

Your sister should definitely start a blog and add these 2 pages: 1.)How to get the best freakin arms ever and 2.)Curly-the Rockstar.

Reply

YES your sister should def start a blog! I would love to hear how she manages her kids and working out. I only have 2 kids and both in school and prek and I feel like I am drowning.

Had a greek salad for lunch.

No snow but ALOT of rain. If we get snow in Ga ( I live in north ATL burbs) it will shut down the whole state. I will take the rain.

Reply

i would read your sisters blog. I love her arms so a whole blog dedicated to her workouts would be fine with me! And really you need to have Bangs Friend start a recipe blog. I would read that too!

I think getting your baby ready and cute for the day is the same as getting yourself ready. That’s my philosophy anyway. That’s why my girls hair has to be done everyday because I live vicariously thru their brushed locks :) just sayin’ im a little busy sometimes HA!

oh the snow! my sister just moved up to your neck of the woods this weekend and texted me a picture of the snow this morning. It’s such a different world than the CA we grew up in. Maybe someday I will move up there to be closer to my family. Feels like they are all there (at least 3 of my 6 sibling are in Ut, than my mom will be there next year. I have a sis that just moved to Idaho over the summer. Craziness)

I love Brookes vest and boots. She looks perfectly dressed for this afternoon. Now she just needs some hot chocolate.

Good luck on your cookie search. I would send you my latest cookie obsession but it came from you! (smore’s bars) I have a really yummy molasses cookie recipe. They are really soft and sweet. Maybe we should have a virtual cookie exchange??

Have a happy evening ;)

We got 5 inches of snow last night and into today… And it’s still going! I would absolutely love it if your sister started a blog… Because I sure love yours and look forward to it every day!

Your sister should totally start a blog, tell her she already has a follower :)

Brooke’s vest is so cute. Does she have snow pants so she can roll around out there and make snow forts? If not she needs some for sure.

No snow for me, it was 77 F and humid!
Brooke in her cute vest is adorbs.

No snow for us but it was a wet soggy day and I ran 4 miles in it. Not your ideal run but it was pretty hard core. Oh please start a blog Janae’s sister! I would totally read it!!! And I would tell all my friends and get you plenty of readers!

Reply

I had Chipotle chips and guacamole left over from last night’s dinner for lunch today. And then a peppermint chocolate chip cookie. Lunch of champions!

We are due to get snow on Thursday, but under an 1″. And the temp is going to be 30 degrees colder tomorrow than it is today. :(

Your sister should definitely start a blog! I just started one, she can be my fellow blog newb.

I had lentils with Healthy 8s and beets, all from Trader Joe’s, covered in dijon vinaigrette.

Reply

Your sister should start a blog just so we can all have ridiculous arms like her.

Reply

Yes to your sister starting a blog! With that many kids life is sure to be interesting ;). Plus her workout and cooking tips are very useful.

Yes to snow…we have alot….on half of my driveway the snow goes up to my waist. No joke. The blowing and drifting snow is awful.

I had two veggie corn dogs for lunch with two mandarin oranges.

Reply

Janae’s sister- you should start a blog.

Reply

I think your sister should definitely start her own blog! I would read it.
For lunch I had curry shrimp with rice. They were leftovers from last nights dinner, but just as good today as it was yesterday.
No snow in Va. We’re actually having a semi warmer week than what we had last year.

Reply

1) That vest is to die for.
2) Brooke is way too cute in it.
3) There is no way you could have ever passed it up.
4) Good buy :)

Reply

Brooke is absolutely adorable. I love that your Mom make extra note that it wasn’t real. So cute. I want a faux vest too!

Reply

My first thought when I read that you went to the gym and looked at your pic of the snow, was is she crazy?! Then I remembered that not everyone lives in NC like I do…. Here all it takes is about an inch and everything shuts down!! Haha! Guess you’d be snowed in all winter long in Utah if that were the case! It’s very pretty! Wish I had that snowy view from my window today:)

Reply

I’d read her blog!

I had left over shrimp pasta stuff from dinner last night. Still yum!

No snow in cinci- mid 50s actually. And I’m feeling grouchy I didn’t take a break from unpacking and cleaning and go for a run. But I wasn’t feeling going with the BOB. And I was in a roll. Now I have all day tomorrow to run run run!

Reply

I would definitely follow sis’s blog — especially if she has pix of her adorable children and niece – oh, and maybe her sister. ;)

Reply

Oh Heaven’s Girl that vest is simply adorable on her…I see why you could not pass it up!!!

More pictures of Curly?! Score! ;-)

Reply

I had a protein bar for lunch which I HATED doing because I don’t like using them as meal supplements but we were on the road and didn’t have time to stop – so it is what it is!

Reply

uhm…is it just me or does brooke’s hood have EARS?! note to self: find hooded furry vest with ears. sooner rather than later.

Reply

No snow yet, but maybe a wintry mix this Sunday. I love snow if I can just stay home and hang out in my pjs. :-)

Love that vest! Hoods with ears are the best.

She should def start a blog…if nothing else, it’s a great “scrapbook” and she can look back and see old pics and activities she did with the kids :-).

Reply

Your sister should definitely start a blog! I’m pretty sure she’d have at least a couple followers ;)

I had leftover Chipotle for lunch today and it was delicious.

No snow in AZ, but we’re supposed to get colder weather this week with some rain :)

Reply

1- How cute that your mom insisted on the ” not real fur” disclaimer ;)

2-I’ve said it before, I would LOVE to hear how your sister manages her time and workouts with 3 kids. I have 2 under 3 but always feel so overwhelmed I would rather sleep when I do get time :) It would be a great motivator to all the moms out there! I think she could also blog about hair tips and healthy cooking-It would really be awesome!!!

Reply

We had chicken tortilla soup for lunch. My 3 year old had me give her all of my black beans from my soup and she gave me all of her chicken and corn!

No snow. I am in PA and we are used to snow however it is weird, 3 winter’s ago we had a record winter, 3 storms with 18+ inches and a few more 6+ inch storms. Then it seemed like the snow just stopped! We have had 2 to 4 inch little blips that were gone quickly but nothing to speak about. I would love at least 1 substantial storm ( but not on a Wed/Thurs as I teach on those days and I am not into snow make up days!!)

Reply

Yep. Love the vest. Love the little face IN the vest. Love the idea of the blog. Do it.

Reply

Brooke looks great in the vest, but a little unsure of the snow. I had a ham and cheese sandwich on awesome roll.

Reply

She should definitely start one! I’m trying to get in the habit of blogging more often.

I had pulled roast chicken (I roasted it yesterday…my first one!) with BBQ sauce, a baked potato with the tiniest bit of butter and seasoning salt, and a big pile of mixed veggies. I just didn’t wrap mine in a tortilla.

It was 60 degrees out today. The cold front is supposed to hit in the middle of the night. Blah.

Reply

Yay for sissy’s blog! Been waiting for it! ;)

Reply

Love the vest! And you can post as many pics of her as you want! ;) I have a list of cookies too…there aren’t enough free calories in my day for all the cookies I wanna bake…

Does Brooke’s vest have ears? So cute!!

For lunch yesterday, I had two grilled cheese sandwiches and clementines. Delicious.

She should totally start a blog! She can tell us how she got her huge guns!

No snow here today. In fact it snowed about 5 inches last week and for the most part it has all melted. I’m hoping it comes back before Christmas!!

I am secretly wanting a stay in snow day–I’m in the mid-Atlantic east coast region so snow still freaks us out and means I can stay home from work!

That vest is so cute, I just can’t even handle her! I really think you should make like 20 batches of cookies. That seems reasonable to me, just sayin. Lunch today was leftover homemade chicken alfredo pizza I made last night. But it’s healthy because the alfredo sauce is actually made out of cauliflower! Say what?! No snow here, we are having a weird heat wave, it’s like 50 degrees out!! Of course your sis should start a blog! Then we can read more about curly and all the other adventures you all have!

I loved the link to the “10 Things I Want My Daughter to Know About Working Out.” Each of the 10 things I found to be true, but treating working out as a lifestyle, not an event, really stuck out. I think she should start a blog!! She has the best mentor too! I just finally started mine last month & I love it!
Brook in that vest in the snow is the most adorable thing!!
