We reached a new low.

Friday morning my sister came over to go on a run with me.  We got in our winter running gear, turned on our garmins and walked outside.  2 seconds later we were back inside discussing plan B.  It was pretty much a tornado outside… I will run in the rain, snow and cold but wind… no thank you.  We decided to hit up the gym so that we could run side by side on the treadmills there.  Treadmills > 40 mph winds.

I did a total of 8 miles @ an average pace of 7:45.  I started at 7.0 mph and then I increased .1 mph every 2 minutes all the way up to 8.6 mph.  That took 34 minutes and for the rest of the time I stayed in the 7.5-8 mph range.   I have treadmill ADD… I have to switch things up the entire run.

Paige and I are figuring out this whole mom thing.   With three very active kids between the two of us we figured out that the only way we can actually eat our lunch is by driving thru somewhere and eating it very quickly in the parking lot while passing back food and toys back to the kids.

Turkey + bacon + avocado.

And then went to go pick up dessert.

We reached a new low by spending the rest of the night watching Duck Dynasty.

Oh my goodness, Brooke in the PJs with the pigtails – does it get cuter than that!!!!!!

My big plan for the day involve Target and driving to the park for an outdoor run. I’m really excited to get some fresh air!

PS: Your sister looks great with straight hair!

Wow that looks like a great Friday Janae. How are you liking the Boston treadmill? (I assume that is what you are running on still?).

Anyways not much planned for here. I might go explore a new area of NJ since my car is finally fixed. I think I’ll go for an easy run as well but considering I’m sore after my first run post marathon (yesterday) it is all aboard the pain train.

Sounds like an wonderful day:) It is nice to see your sister looking so happy. That salad looks so awesome, love salads with bacon. Running in the wind doesnt work for me either:)

Off to meet a friend for coffee and then to our god-daughter’s dance recital. She’s 4. There probably will be more cuteness than dance.

Love Duck Dynasty! This morning I have to work, then the gym for a run and then probably off to see “Catching Fire.”

Reply

I am working this morning. I get to train two clients! Then I’m going to do my own weight workout.

This evening the boyfriend and I are dropping the kids off with my dad and going for a couples massage.

Today I went hiking in northern Ethiopia and it was amazing!!!

I don’t blame you for hitting the treadmill. I will not run in dangerous winds either. Wind/cold = okay, but when there are trash cans flying around I will not! Today should be a chill day for me! I’m running with some friends this morning- it will be pretty cold! Then relaxing for the rest of the day. Hopefully I will be able to warm up after a chilly run!

Reply

I’m with you on the wind factor. It’s so brutal sometimes! I’ll probably be taking to the treadmill today because it’s 13 degrees outside with a pretty strong wind. Brrr!

We’re set to burn as many of our burn piles as possible today. When we moved into our home in Sept., it had been unattended for 18 months and the yard was in need of lots of TLC.

Yesterday I prepped for burning by hauling a few piles closer to the fire pit= great workout.

I’m hoping to deal with insurance stuff today. Necessary. Very.

Somewhere down the line, I’ll eat some good homemade granola, and all throughout it, I’ll be grateful for all that we have.

Today I’ve enjoyed doing a few errands and drinking lots of coffee- I was also asked to me godmother to my friend’s little girl and I can’t stop smiling!!

Reply

Having to go run some errands, finishing up a cake, a little work, a lot of reading and heading to bed early. I’m really looking to forward to soup and sandwiches for dinner though!

Sounds like a great day and Brooke’s pj’s are adorable! This morning I went for a long run on the treadmill because I’m a wuss and it was too cold outside for me! And I’m just heading round to my friend’s house with pretty much the entire junk food aisle from the supermarket so we can watch the season finale of our favourite show, The Face! :-)

I’ve got a long run (8-10), church, then going to a friend’s! We’re baking :) :)

Heading to the gym with my hubby this morning! I love Duck Dynasty!

Reply

Aww Brooke!! Such a big girl in her PJ’s!

Reply

I agree- hate the wind. I just ran 13 miles in the wind and it wasn’t too fun. I ran yesterday in the rain and enjoyed that run much more lol.

Reply

I will admit it…I have never seem this ever famous show Duck Dynasty :). I love Brooke’s p.j’s!!!!
It is freezing here in Iowa today. I really want to run outside though so I am going to wait until the afternoon when it at least gets out of the teens and the real feel is above zero!

Love Brooke’s dog pj’s — I kinda want a pair for myself :)

Also the croutons on that salad look so good to me right now! Yum!

Random other:
1. Brooke’s pj pic is adorable!
2. Your sis and her family look hilarious…I am thinking…happy, happy, happy!
3. New Low? I think not….Duck Dynasty rocks….Ultimate High!

Have a great Saturday too!

Reply

I love Brooke’s pjs! Things with dogs on them are definitely better:)

We don’t have anything to exciting planned. I’d love to go for a run but my little one has a pretty yucky cold so that ruins that plan. I guess we’ll be hanging out with the humidifier all day:/

Reply

I have treadmill ADD too! Had to use it this morning due to icy roads and I pretty much changed things up every 2 mins! Outside = much better for running but happy to have a back up. I love your post and your day sounded just perfect. Have an awesome weekend, Janae!

Reply

Going to see Catching Fire and hopefully fit in a run later in the afternoon. It’s been raining a lot the last few days and I’m really hoping I won’t have to go to the gym to get my run in.

Love her pj’s, so cute!

Reply

I am relaxing this morning then making pizzas and cupcakes with the boyfriend tonight. I may have a foot injury so I am trying to nurse it while resisting the urge to run.

Reply

Oh my, where did you find those doggy pj’s?! My niece would love those!

Just got done with my run (tapering still sucks), but I’ve got nada on my agenda for the rest of the day, except for my S.O.’s band is playing tonight. Happy Saturday!

Unfortunately, I’m down and out on the 2nd day of a bad migraine. I’d love to go for a run (even though it’s in the teens outside), but I can’t peel myself off the couch. Ugh. Fortunately, my 11.5 month old non-napper played hard this morning and is napping now! She’s such a good girl — my sidekick! We love dogs around here, too! It’s the word and sign she uses the most! This is her current favorite shirt to wear: http://m.gymboree.com/mt/www.gymboree.com/shop/dept_item.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524446030229&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302775613&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=1408474395917465&bmUID=1385222174121&productSizeSelected=0&fit_type=

She has to kiss each of the dogs on it before I dress her!

No shame in DD. It is hilarious!

Reply

I’m with you on the wind… I hate it! I’ll run in anything else, though. I’m laying low today. I’m fighting a nasty chest cold and don’t want to get any worse so I’m staying in and not running. Bummer!

Tell Brooke that she is rocking those pj’s!

Reply

wow!!!! my favorite ice cream is graham cracker…and that brand looks amazing! wish I could buy that in the stores in NJ! After taking 7 weeks off of running due to injury I think that today I may attempt a short treadmill run!

Reply

Heading up to Evanston (north of Chicago) for lunch with friends! I ran 3 miles today and it was 25 and WINDY. ugh. At least it was just 3 miles…

Reply

Brook is just so cute! Love her smile!

Ran 10 miles in 15 mph winds (with gusts of 37.) I wanted to die at mile 7 but finally made it home!

Reply

Those PJ’s are too cute!

I did some hot yoga this morning followed by a trip to Wholefoods (I can’t get enough of this place) now I am going to get everything ready for my daughter’s 1st birthday party!

I need to buy a treadmill for my house so I can squeeze in easy runs for days when the weather is not so ideal for an outside run.

Reply

I am getting things together for my youngest’s 3rd birthday. I am not sobbing because she is getting older, she has had a rough time of things but for the past 6 months she has been a different kid so I am really excited for age 3! I also got the go ahead this morning to start adding some racewalking back into my routine at the end of the week!!! I injured my knee 2 weeks ago (knee cap popped out of place and then it was discovered that I have some other serious issues with the knee). Running is basically over for me now (very sad) but since I am a speedy racewalker I am going to embrace the crazy walk! Hoping my knee cooperates.

Reply

oops, meant injured it 2 months ago and wanted to add that my almost 3 year old is obsessed with cats. We have so many “meow meow” shirts and tomorrow’s cup cakes will be “cup cats”

Reply

I almost had to drive 45 minutes to the nearest Apple store because when I woke up this morning ALL of my contacts, messages and favorites were gone! I was SO sad!

Buying turkey’s for the ward Christmas party, going to Costco, hoping to get some yoga and a walk in, and then going to the Trans Siberian Orchestra concert. It will be a fun, busy Saturday!

I love Brooke’s PJ’s. It was a bittersweet day when Connor and Gracen no longer wore the footed pajamas. I can still get Gracen in them but Connor will have nothing to do with them.
A new low? Most definitely not. Duck Dynasty is great – I love that show.
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

Brrrrr it’s cold in Bozeman too! No wind, just freezing temperatures. I think the high yesterday was 15 degrees or something. It’s crazy. Brooke’s pajamas are just too cute! And her pigtails- I die! :)

Reply

Brooke is getting more and more adorable! Elena loves dogs too. I am now seriously craving sweet potato fries and graham canyon ice cream! Want to send me some?!?! Haha… Our Saturday is going to be pretty boring since I’m sick. My little munchkin should keep me entertained.

Reply

My daughter loves Duck Dynasty and when she has it on, I kind of can’t help but to watch. It’s amazing how a set of non- footie pj’s will make Brooke look so much older.

Reply

Brooke is absolutely amazingly adorable! But I guess you knew that already hey… Cool pajamas :)

Have a great weekend!

Reply

That picture of Brooke and your sister is the best! And those pajamas! Adorbs….

Reply

Today = 100% rest day

Tomorrow I’m running a half marathon and the temp when I start will be…3. Not like “3” with lots of zeros….just..3. I’m a bit afraid. –> this makes me think of you and your chilly weather in Utah!!!

Reply

Those ice cream flavors look amazing!! I wish you could get them in Cali!!

Reply

Saturday, I did 5 hours of volunteering for Turkey Trot packet pick-up (or more like working… the coordinator gave us all a Sports Basement gift card at the end :D), and then went to a baby shower.
Looks like you had a wonderful Saturday!

Reply

I am jealous of where you can get a salad through drive through that looks so yummy!!!

Reply

You reached a new HIGH watching DD!! Such a great family show!! Love it! :)

Reply

I won’t run in the wind either. Give me nearly any other element, but wind…no thank you. Wind forced me to do 12 miles on the treadmill on Saturday…yuck!

Reply

Our entire weekend was low key and perfect. Family, running, skiing, reading and good food. What else does one need?

Reply

Oh my gosh….I’ve seen one episode of Duck Dynasty and LOVED it! Is there a whole season on DVD? I need to see it :)

Reply

Saturday was all about cleaning and shopping for me, so it was pretty productive.

Brooke looks so grown up in her non-footie pajamas!

Reply

I love Duck Dynasty!

Doing anything in the wind, let alone running is just crazy.
