I’m ready to run

We made it to Vegas safe and sound. Day #1 of food/carb loading, laughing and hanging out in our ginormous van complete.
We are getting close to run time and I couldn’t be more ready to have three great runs!

About the above picture… Brooke is obsessed with almond butter lately. She prefers it plain and right off of her tray. She gets a little smile after every bite. Atta girl.

Good luck! I can’t wait to hear all about your adventures!

This weekend I am going to dinner and a show with a new guy. I kind of like him! Working tomorrow. And relaxing the rest of the weekend. We are going to have great weather so I see a couple of trail runs in there somewhere!

It’s been probably five years since I went to Vegas. It’s always a fun time with a group!

My favorite road snack is any mixture of salt & sweet!

That is going to be one stinky van :). Hope you have a great weekend!!

I’ve only been to Vegas once. It was a lot of fun, but I’m not sure I’d want to go back unless I had a specific event to go to.

My weekend plans are to lounge! I worked last weekend and I work next weekend, so this is my downtime!

We have an 8 mile run Saturday morning, followed by a hair appointment, and then we are off to the ball! I lived in Vegas for 3 years, but haven’t been there since 2005.

Hi! I just wanted to tell you how much of an inspiration you are! I am sure you get that all the time, because you are awesome, but you really inspire me to live each day to the fullest. It can be SO draining holding oneself back from eating or doing something one loves because of time, health, etc. You remind me that every day is a gift, and if I want a bowl of cereal after dinner, just do it. I am so inspired to not put limitations on myself, and to just do my best. I used to be anorexic, and for almost 9 years now I have been healthy and active. Every day is a struggle of what to eat and when to eat and how much to eat. You inspire me not to focus on those things. So, thank you!

Ps. Good luck on your race!!

Have a blast Janae! Vegas is one of my favourite places to visit and the last time I was there was this summer in July. The heat was killer, so I’d imagine the weather is a lot more tolerable around this time of the year.

You may have answered this in a previous post, but I’m just curious – how far will you run for each of your legs? I read a little about Ragnar but it seems like you can kind of decide for yourself what you’ll run. Or are you saving that as a surprise with updates as you go?

Either way, good luck, and have fun! Hope you have a great time and run happy!

Every single one of your salads make me hungry for a salad. I want one now.

My husband and I were in Vegas in July for his work convention. our awesome BIL andSIL watched our kids for us so it was a little mini vacation. We are actually going back in December and bringing our kids while my husband works. The strip isn’t super kid friendly but I’ve already planned off strip fun things for us to do.

The last time I went to Vegas it was my senior year of high school during spring break to visit my boyfriend….who had broken up with me two weeks before I flew out. Yeah, that trip wasn’t awkward at all.

Have you ever had burnt peanuts? It’s a delicious candy that has a hard candy coating that is red and bumpy, and a peanut in the center. SOOOOOO GOOOD!
