My New Olympic Team

An apple and froyo a day keeps the doctor away…isn’t that how the saying goes?

First time trying this kind of almond butter and it was life changing.

Froyo with healthy brownie bites and healthy butterfingers crumbles on top;)

This adorable friend and I went to college together and used to live in the same apartment complex.  Oh the good old days.  We randomly saw each other around town a few weeks ago and found out that we both moved from Utah and live here now.   We are meant to be.

Dinner was a winner.  Still sticking to my sweet potato streak (hence why my skin has more of an orange tint than ever) and turned them into fries to go with our carne asada/veggie mix and watermelon.

DSC 4510

The highlight of my day…actually probably my whole month happened after dinner.

Say hello to the next Olympic kickball team (a few of them had to leave before the picture).  Kickball is very dear to my heart.  I used to play this with my PE kids all of the time and I have so many good memories playing kickball.

We are doing this weekly.  It is official.

DSC 4515

It was quite tiring though, it will take time for us to build up our kickball endurance and sprinting from base to base is no joke.

DSC 4516

2nd pan in less than a week.  I think we can say for sure that I am addicted to my s’mores bars.

DSC 4497

And for the random question of the day:  Have you ever had Egg-In-A-Hole before?  I had a discussion about these and their amazingness with friends last week and some of them had NEVER even heard of these before.  Have you had them?

What type of bread do you buy?  Do you have a favorite brand?

What are 2 of your JULY goals (if you haven’t made them up yet…do it now:)?

Favorite sport (besides running) to play?

Softball! I started playing when I was 5 all the way through high school. I LOVE IT. Baseball is a close second of course.
My July goals are to un a 10k in under an hour and to do more cross training. (I took my first spin class yesterday!)

I’ve always wanted to join one of those social leagues, but my cousin just broke her foot doing one so now i’m scared!
I buy ezekial bread and I heart it!
I’m getting on that smores recipe today!

Reply

I try to buy local/seasonal breads!! I agree with you on kickball too! Unless family walks count :-)

Reply

Thank you for that s’mores bar recipe! I actually ended up making them on Friday because we were headed to a cottage and it had been raining all week (ie. no campfires so no s’mores). Everyone loved them! Thanks!

Reply

We buy whatever multigrain bread that doesn’t have HFCS that’s on sale. That stuff is crazy expensive!

I’ve never had egg in a hole, but I know what it is. I’ve just never gotten around to making it.

That is awesome that you guys played kickball. I can’t really say I have another favorite sport.

Reply

Favorite sport to play = soccer.

My July goals are to finish my 1/2 marathon around 2:15 and then to relax with the hard core training and just enjoy my runs!

I have never had Egg in a hole before. I don’t even know what it is! We always buy Country Kitchen whole wheat bread.

Reply

I totally need to make those s’more bars ASAP!!

Reply

i LOVE egg-in-a-hole!! omg soo good, i used to make them all the time growing up but i havent one in YEARS. holy throw back batman. I’m going to have to make one tomorrow for breakfast :) fav sport to play- tennis! although im sooo bad, i love it :)

Reply

My mom used to make Egg in a hole all the time when I was in school. Not my favorite way to eat eggs…scrambled for me please! :)

Writing my July Goal post today. I am taking the month off from weighing myself, interested to see how it goes. Also want to make my runs consistently 3 times a wk, plus 2 cross training days a week. Those are my major goals.

Reply

We call them cowboy eggs!

Reply

The picture of Brooke sleeping in Bill(y)’s arms is the cutest!

Since I’m gluten-free I’d have to say my favorite is Rudi’s white bread. It’s the fluffiest, lightest gf bread around! My goals for this month are non-specific: get back to working out regularly, enjoy the summer.

Kickball is a great summer team sport! I also really like softball, but don’t have the opportunity to play either.

Reply

S’mores bars. Yum. Froyo with brownies is definitely healthy. Mentally at least ;) July goals- abs every day! Or most days… Since I already missed day 1. And begin running pain free again!

Reply

Oh my gosh that picture of Brooke falling asleep is the CUTEST. Also you s’mores bars look awesome!

Reply

To limit my diet soda to one a day (this won’t start until after my B-day next week). Continue my plank a day & pushup challenge. I think I love golf as much as I love running.

Reply

That picture of Brooke is ADORABLE!!

My two goals for July are to stick to my training plan and to pass my OBGYN exam!

I played soccer since I was a little kid all the way through college… I miss it!

Reply

My dad used to make me egg in hole all the time except we called it eggs in a basket for some reason… Now that Im vegan I stick to green smoothies and oatmeal! We buy whatever whole wheat bread that’s on sale haha! My July goals are to work on getting faster for cross country season and do more strength training. My favorite sport would have to be soccer! My family and I have had some pretty awesome soccer games together! :) have a great day!

Reply

I don’t really play team sports anymore (I played basketball in high school), but my favorite activity other than running is biking. I also enjoy swimming (as in laps), but hardly ever get a chance to go. Maybe a tri is in my future?

Reply

Toads in a hole! Eggs in a basket! ;) Yes I’ve had them, and they’re kind of amazing. With a few slices of avocado on top? Heaaaaven. I really love Rudi’s spelt bread, but really… sometimes plain old whole wheat Wonderbread works just as well.

That pic of Brooke sleeping is just too cute for words, dodgeball is my favourite sport to play, and my goal for July is to dry brush every morning.

Happy Tuesday, Janae!

Reply

I’m not sure where the name came from, but I learned it as toad-in-a-hole. I don’t think my parents ever made it for me, so I’m not sure how I learned of it, but I love it. It was the first meal I ever cooked for my husband!

I buy Pepperidge Farm 15 Grain bread. I’m not sure if it’s everything I need/want in bread, but it meets my basic standard of 100% whole grain and no HFCS.

Reply

I don’t know if you can call it a ‘sport,’ but I love to play bags with my family and friends – it’s always a crowd pleaser at parties. Speaking of parties, I’m trying out your S’mores bar recipe for one I’m going to this week – I figure I’m safer bringing them somewhere so I don’t eat the whole pan myself. ;)

Reply

I’m in an adult kickball league! It’s a blast :)

Reply

My dad used to make my sister and I egg in a hole all of the time. If it was Valentines Day he would cut the hole into a heart. Best dad ever :)

That pic of Brooke sleeping on Billy’s shoulder is so sweet.

Reply

Thanks for the yummy pictorial reminder to make those s’mores bars. Sounds like the perfect treat for 4th of July parties. July goal #1 – try a new recipe, more specifically, make those s’mores bars!

We got a breadmaker for Christmas last year, so we’ve been making homemade bread almost every week. We slice it up, freeze it, and use it for toast & sandwiches. Our favorite recipe is cinnamon raisin bread. Bet it would be yummy with that almond butter!

July goal #2, start marathon training for Richmond in November. Gulp!

Reply

Have you never had Justin’s nut butters?! Literally some of my favorite nut butters EVER. Before I discovered cashew butter…I’ve been spooning that stuff into my mouth like there’s no tomorrow.

I’ve never had (or even heard of) an egg in a hole–what is it and how can I make one? (Actually, I guess the picture is a little self-sufficient.) I have heard of baking eggs in avocados though, does that count?

Reply

Baking eggs in avocados… Now that’s a great idea! A little hot sauce on top. Thanks for the idea!

Reply

Love eggs in a basket!! Soccer is def my number 2 – I can’t tell you the last time I bought bread… Andddd July goals are to do core every single day! Oh and cleaning up my eating habits at work are ideal. These dang people with their chocolate dishes..

Reply

2 of my July goals are to heal my injury and strengthen my glutes

Reply

Ahh that picture of Brooke makes me melt!! Some of my favorite picture of Addie are the ones of her with Brandon. There’s just something about a girl and her daddy! ;)

Reply

I call it an egg in a basket! Love it! I lived on them in college!

Reply

First of all – you have never had egg in a nest before?!! My Mom made it for us all the time when we were younger, I make it now once a week or so. So yummy.
I buy Little Big Bread from Silver Hills. I like it since 2 pieces = 1 serving.
July goals – go on a hike and finish re-doing the dresser for our nursery.
I have never been much into sports! I do like badminton though :)

Reply

I love white bread. I know I shouldn’t, but it’s like crack. I love Costco’s Torta Bread.

My July goals are stick to my marathon training plan and eat more watermelon/ice cream!

My favorite sport besides running is definitely tennis. Lateral movements and continuous lunges and squats are rough!

Reply

Eggs in a basket are amazing (haven’t seen V for Vendetta?? That’s what V serves her in his home the first night)!! That was the first meal my husband made for me when we moved into our apartment together– because our dating anniversary is Guy Fawkes Day! They are delicious (more so when someone else makes them!)

Reply

Forget kickball Olympics… s’mores bar Olympics!

Reply

July goals – well beginning of July goals. I’m trying to run 50 miles by the 19th, which should be completely doable with my 10K training plan. Favorite sport is gymnastics! I was a gymnast as a kid and in high school and although I don’t think I can still do flips, I love watching!

Reply

Oh that Olympic team is awesome!!! How I wish I had a big group of friends to create a rilvary team. My sister is part of a hardcore adult softball team/league and I would def join in if I lived close to her. I have never had eggs in a hole!

Reply

Egg in a hole (I call it egg in a basket?) is my favorite breafast. I make it a few times a week. My July goal is to up my mileage and actually do some cross training.

Reply

My mom used to make that for me but call it Eggs-In-A-Basket! I haven’t had it in forever….

I usually just buy an Aunt Millie’s brand wheat bread because they are a little higher in fiber.

I enjoy playing softball but kickball and tennis-ball (like kickball but you swing a tennis racket at the plate and hit a kickball with it….) were favorite camp games. :)

Reply

Egg-in-Toast (what we call Egg-in-a-Hole) is my husband’s favorite breakfast! He’d never had it until he met me, though. I always thought it was something everyone ate!

All of my July goals deal with the fact that we are MOVING this month. So…not fun goals on the moving side, but fun ones on decorating a new house! :)

Reply

Love that brand of Almond butter :) The chocolate hazelnut is super good as well!! My goal for this month is to keep up with this Paleo 30 day challenge and get froyo when I finish :) and keep incorporating sprints/HIIT runs in at least once a week. Favorite thing to do outside of running, would have to be Tennis!!! I’m literally as badly addicted to it as I am running….now all I need to do is get a racket…..

Reply

Froyo and an apple a day….sounds perfect to me! Costco has really great bread. Stuft mama blogged about it here http://stuftmama.com/2011/05/20/gotta-love-costco/

Reply

I love egg in a hole-I used to eat it on the weekends when I was a kid. My favorite type of bread is multigrain but the brand changes. Ill usually shop local if I can.

My two July running goals: PR in the half marathon later this month and run barefoot I. The woods.

Reply

I used to have egg in a hole when I was little, have not had it in many, many years! Type of bread- we buy natures own. It has no HFCS, is cheap, and all but one variety is oat free (my youngest is allergic to oats).
July Goals- I want to run 4 miles without walking breaks and pain free. I am able to race walk high miles but running has made my knee hurt. I am on a 3 week streak right now and I ran nearly 3 miles without knee pain on Monday!!! I am trying to work up very gradually and I am running every other day instead of back to back. My other girl is to get through working 4 weeks in the summer. Switching from a school age teacher to an early intervention teacher is tough. I have to work 4 weeks this summer (2 days a week though). School teachers will understand.
Sport: Swimming, Racewalking, and Dizzy bat (that’s a sport right???)

Reply

goal not girl, argh

Reply

Those eggs remind me of my dad, one of the few things he cooked well. But we called them eggs in a frame, much catchier!

Reply

I’ve heard of an “egg in a hole” breakfast but never actually had one myself.

My favorite sports to play are tennis and softball, besides running of course ;)

Reply

I sooo want to join a kickball league! My best friend just did it and loved it! I used to love me some kickball in gym class back in the day haha!

Reply

I JUST google the “Egg in a hole” on Sunday and am going to try it this week.

Bread, anything whole wheat.

My two July goals: 1) Rehab my hamstring and take care of it so I can run my Disneyland 10k at the end of August (slower than planned, so finishing is the goal now) and 2) Work on my running form while starting up pool jogging once goal #1 is happening.

Favorite sport (other than running): Beach Volleyball….which sadly I can’t play right now either….come on hamstring, get it together!!

Reply

I think your opening piece of advice is my life motto. It’s the only way to live life to the fullest in my opinion.
My husband and I play on a coed softball team (I played softball growing up) and I love that. It gives us an outlet that is sports based and it is with a bunch of our other friends. :)

Reply

I love eggs in hole but we actually call them toad in the holes and we always have them christmas morning! It is one of my favorite traditions

Reply

Volleyball! We have an “old lady” team as my husband so fondly calls us. But, I pretty much love playing any sport.

Reply

i like the pepperidge farm harvest white — it’s not whole grain or anything but it is fluffy and delicious. perfect for french toast! i don’t have any goals for july… i don’t have time to make any! hahaha

Reply

By boyfriend call them “eggs in the basket.” I prefer my eggs scrambled and even then I do not eat them that often.

As far as bread, I get Nature’s Own Double Fiber Wheat Bread. Stays soft and tastes pretty yummy.

My July Goals are: Finish my personal statement for Graduate School and Run at least 3 times a week (I did not do all the well in June)

I played kickball with some friends one season with a social league. But we prefer to play Cornhole. Is that classified as a sport?

Reply

My Mom used to make eggs-in-a-basket (as we called them) for us kids growing up. She would toast the little cut-out square, and stick it on top op the egg like a lid. I hated eggs, so I would trade my basket with my brother for his lid. :)

Reply

My BF makes the BEST egg-in-a-hole. I’m pretty sure the “secret” is an entire stick of butter.

My #1 July goal is to hit 100 miles running this month- it will be my first time ever! #2 is to get all my long runs in (marathon training) even while on vacation. That is going to be a LOT harder.

Reply

I like Arnold’s pita pockets. They’re super fun to stuff with things :D I also like Arnold’s 7-grain oat bread. Or peasant bread.

My goal for July is to try something new every week. I tried a hot chocolate from Starbucks today, but I’m not sure that’s going to count ;)

I really like playing volleyball. Or drinking. Does that count as a sport?

Reply

I’m definitely a whole wheat or multi grain kind of person. And I’d pick pitas or tortillas over plain old bread any day.

Reply

July goals: Try a new recipes. Take a slight running break in order to focus on riding so that I am comfortable doing our week long bike ride at the end of the month.

Reply

So glad I read this before eating breakfast because I know just what I’m having. :) toad in a hole! So glad we got together. You are such an amazing person, I feel lucky to know you. Way to be a kickball superstar! Volleyball is definitely my favorite sport. Our stake has a volleyball tournament in the fall. You guys will have to get a team together this year. It starts right around when I’m due, but I’m crossing my fingers to at least make it to the tournament, if not the regular season games.

Reply

I usually by Pepperidge Farm Whole Grain bread but I don’t always stick with the same kind. I really need to try this “egg in a hole” thing. I was watching the Pioneer Woman the other day and she was making them…I had no idea they were so popular!

Your kickball discussion reminded me of a game that our gym teacher made up in high school. It was called “Mat Ball”. We played inside and each base was one of those big mats for gymnastics and stuff. It was like kickball but you could run around the bases either way. You had to run around the bases twice and you could stop and be safe on any base but home base. It was so fun :).

Reply

My July goals are to get back on track. I have been a slacker since I ran a marathon in May. Time to get back to 6 days a week of running, 3 or so days a week of strength training, and to stop eating so much garbage. Those s’mores bars look so good. I am afraid to try them because I would probably eat them all in one sitting without sharing.

Reply

We had them from breakfast on Sunday, they are my favorite!!! My husband calls them “Robin’s eggs” and his name is Robyn, so we always laugh. We are kind of dorks!

Reply

Basketball, or Volleyball. July is run for fun month:)

Reply

We don’t eat a ton of bread, but when we do, it’s usually Arnold’s whole wheat or pumpernickel. Our grocery store has it BOGO a lot, so I’ll get 2 loaves and put the second in the freezer ’til we need it.

Hmm.. July goals.. I’ve been in a serious running slump, so I’ll say I want to run 60 miles this month and get in one longer run of at least 6-7 miles so I can get back to a good base before I start marathon training.

I love to play softball – my husband and I played on a team together before we had kids :)

Reply

I love the s’mores bars. I made them for my 7 year old’s birthday and everyone LOVED them! Thank you!

Reply

I love kickball too!!! This year I taught English and French so when the end of the year rolled around and we didn’t have as much curriculum to cover I definitely snuck in a couple games of kickball at school – obviously for the kids benefit right? Haha

Egg in the hole was always a family favorite here as well as soldiers and eggs! Anyone?!!

Reply

Kickball ~ how much fun! I am so going to make these smore bars they look just too yummy. We call it Eggs in a Basket. It was the first thing I taught my kids to make. It’s so easy and yummy and fast. Usually I try to make my own bread but if I buy I tend towards sourdough or rye breads.

Reply

First off- can I just say I love that Billy is standing on his tip toes in the kick ball photo :)

Egg-in-a-holes are delicious but I don’t have them often. Arnold’s whole wheat bread is what we buy.
For my July goals…1. Go canoeing. My friends and I are going camping for the weekend soon, so I should be able to make this happen! And 2. Go to our new froyo place in our town that just recently opened :) I’ve been once but I need to go again!!
My favorite sport besides running is swimming. I swam on the swim team in high school starting my junior year but I wish I would’ve started sooner because I enjoyed it so much and it’s a great way to stay in shape.

Reply

My mom refers to egg in a hole as “birdie in the nest” and I LOVE them. It makes it easier to soak up all the yolk without having to dip and destroy!

My favorite bread is anything really grainy. I love the crunch/texture of a good bakery bread!

Two July Goals:
1.) Be more social.
2.) Beat plica syndrome without having to get surgery on my good knee.

Reply

My grandmother use to call them “eggs in a nest!” :)

Reply

Fav sport: basketball
Fav bread: Ezekiel, any kind
July goals: work on running form and enjoy my last month before its back to teaching!

Reply

Egg in a hole…say what??!! Never heard of it in my life…looks like Im missing out huh??

July goals: 1. To continue with marathon trng despite the nasty heat and humidity…remebering it makes me BETTER! :-)
2. To continue eating healthy despite the desire to dig into something bad for me after a long run.

My favorite sport to play is soccer.

Reply

My grandmother use to make this all the time and we called it “Eggs in a nest!” I think I am going to have it for my post run snack! Thanks for sharing!

July Goals: 1. Get my 5K time to under 30 minutes. 2. Keep up with my long runs!

Reply

I haven’t made egg in a hole in ages… I’m sure my kiddos would like that. I buy Orowheat whole wheat bread. My two goals for July are 1) run outside at least once a week. 2) Do something that I’ve never done before (I’m not sure what this is yet but I’ll figure it out :) ) My favorite sport is soccer.

Reply

I’m on a kickball league here in Chicago and it’s SO MUCH FUN!

Reply

I can’t tell from that picture if there is bacon but my fiance’s mom makes ‘egg in a nest’. I think they cook the bacon first then cook the bread and egg in the bacon grease! ohhh my goodness its so good!

Reply

VANILLA Almond Butter?? I need to buy it asap!

July Goals: 1. start marathon training 2. trying to lower my best avarage pace with NYRR

Fav sport (BESIDES RUNNING): swimming!

Reply

Brooke was adorable! I haven’t heard of egg in a hole … it sounds interesting.
I have no idea what kind of bread we buy … I’m too lazy to go downstairs and check! Haha

1) Continue training for my 1/2
2) Read the Bible at least once a day every day/become a better Christian

It depends for the sport … if we are talking hardcore, all out I would have to choose soccer. For a fun thing, either volleyball or kickball. :)

Reply

I love Egg in a Hole!!! I should make that soon. It’s a winner.
I’m not much for team sports. It stresses me out. Which is why I run :)

Reply

I call them hole in ones…I never had them before I met my boyfriend and now there my favorite. So yummy

Reply

We always call it “eggs in a basket” and my old roommate told me what they call it in Hungarian, but I couldn’t spell it to save my life. It is a really delicious meal. Since I don’t eat gluten, I make them with eggplant. I just cut a hole in the middle of the eggplant, toss it in a pan and fry it with butter, salt, and pepper. That used to be my breakfast every day before work. Now I am craving it!

Reply

July goals:
1. Celebrate Canada Day (check!)
2. Catch up on teaching-induced sleep deprivation (still working on it)
3. Make gluten-free pancakes from scratch (check! And I even added blueberries!)
4. Focus on speedwork

I rarely buy bread. Sometimes I buy gluten free stuff, but I prefer to make it myself :)

I like playing badminton! I rocked that club in high school!

Reply

I love those egg sandwich!! So yummy!! Two goals for July, 1. listen to my body as I am running and try not to push myself to being so worn down. 2. Learn ways to handle stress with moving and transferring happening this month!

Reply

If you haven’t tried sun butter (sunflower seeds) yet its just a crime…

Reply

Egg in a hole sounds familiar, but I’ve never had it. I’m pretty picky with my eggs, though. I only like them scrambled or as an omelet. No yolks for me!

Reply

My goal for July is to complete my first triathlon and not drown.

Lets hope that works.

Reply

My dad always called them “eggs on a raft” and he made them SO GOOD! I made one the other day (I was missing them) and it wasn’t good at all :( I think when I was growing up we used real butter and cheap bread and I used pam and whole grain bread and it wasn’t the same at all!

I love flat-outs! They’re my bread of choice!

I think one of my July goals is to make those smores bars for our 4th of July BBQ! My other one is to start training for my October Half – Baltimore Running Festival (shameless plug – my company has a charity team and we can always use members – we provide jobs and rehabilitation training for blind people – TEAM BISM)

Vanilla Justins – WHAT! I love their honey almond but I am going to have to scope out the vanilla – I eat the Justin’s packets plain (like a GU) before long races because I can’t stand real food :)

I don’t really play any organized sports because I can’t stand the pressure – its why I run – I am alone and with a group all at the same time :)

Reply

Man, kick ball is a blast! It’s the game in elementary school that everyone is good at. So much fun.

I have had egg in a hole. So yummy. I haven’t thought about it in forever. I need to make some now.

That picture of Brooke is so precious. Oh my goodness!

Reply

Kickball is SO MUCH FUN! Love that you’re playing it! :) I’ve had egg in a hole, and loooove it! My mom would make it for us when we were little. I think I need to make one soon!

xo

Reply

I’ve never had the egg sandwich ha but my friends made it all the time! I love honey wheat bread from a local bakers, so yummy

I legit teared up at the picture of Billy holding a sleeping Brooke. I maaay also be 3 months pregnant, but still, way too cute!

Reply

Ahhhhhhh huge congrats on your pregnancy and don’t worry I cried over everything when I was pregnant too!

Reply

I love Brownberry breads. I especially love the Dutch whole wheat. I love spreading it with peanut butter for a snack :).
Basketball…I love basketball. I also like soccer. I never played it in HS but I coached my daughters team last year and it was lots of fun…I think I would have liked it…of course, there is a lot of running involved in it!

Reply

That vanilla almond butter is seriously crack! I heard they are coming out with the little individual packets of it and if that is the case, I will surely be carrying one on me at ALL times. I’ve never had Egg-In-A-Hole Toast before, but heard good things about it!

Reply

I have had that before but we call them Eggie-In-a-Basket. Love Them!! I use the piece from the center to soak up all the yolk left on the plate after I devour the rest.
July Goals:
1. Get my mileage pace down and add more crossfit in with my running.
2. Lose 8 more pounds while I have all this mouthgasmic summer produce to enjoy. It’s so easy to eat healthy when the produce is so stellar!

Reply

I have never had an egg in a hole but it’s totally something I would love.

I typically buy Sara Lee 45 calories & delightful whole wheat bread. It’s so good and I actually like that it’s slighter smaller slices than “regular” stuff…

July goals:
1. Complete the Spartan Race next week and don’t die.
2. Crosstrain! (this is my goal every month… it’s the thought that counts, right?)

I don’t play any other sports but I love other outdoor activities like hiking, kayaking and I want to try stand-up paddleboarding soon!

Reply

I don’t really eat bread anymore- I’m trying to stay away from gluten (for intolerance reasons, not weight loss ones). If I do eat bread, I buy Glutino or Ezekiel gluten-free breads :)

2 July goals: Join a running group and run atleast 120 miles this month!

Favorite sport (besides running) to play? SOCCER!!! I played from about 1st grade all the way through high school! (And some intramurals in college :)

Reply

Egg in a hole is SOOOOO good! My mom used to make them for us when we were little! Ahhh memories :)

Reply

The egg in the hole is such a great creation. I love them!! Although when I make it, it usually does not come out as pretty as the one you pictured.
And I only run, but wish I could play tennis. I have tried to learn several time, I am just not very coordinated.

Reply

Funny, I just did a post on bread a few days ago. I live way out in the boondocks, and it’s almost impossible to find bread that’s not full of high-fructose corn syrup and a ton of weird preservatives. In the winter, I make it homemade (I got a bread machine for Christmas, which rocks). I also stock up on Ezekial, Rudi’s, and Udi’s when I grocery shop out of town.

As far as sports…I like running because I’m too uncoordinated for anything else!

Reply

Kickball can be fun, but I am horrible at it. Hah!

I love that almond butter!

Reply

Sprinting for team sports is a serious workout! A year and a half ago I agreed to join a friend’s ultimate frisbee team and each week it was like I got a bonus speed workout. Two of my goals for July: go to yoga at least 3 times a week and foam roll more often. Have a great Tuesday!

Reply

2 of my July goal…stay consistent with my running and do more core workouts

Reply

I LOVE egg in a hole! My mom used to make them for me and my sister when we were younger so now whenever I make it, it reminds me of those days. I love dipping the extra piece of bread in to the yolk when you are done!

Reply

I used to love egg in a hole, we called them “one eyes” and you had to guard that little buttery square that Mom went ahead and toasted. My brothers would always try to steal it!!

Reply

I love kickball. It’s my go to PE activity with my class too. They have adult leagues down here in LA and its hardcore. Matching uniforms and warm up drills, etc. my husband and I couldn’t stop laughing at how serious they take it.

Reply

I was on a DC kickball league team a few years ago it was so fun!

Reply

egg in a hole is the best! I was introduced to it at a sleepover in about 8th grade! Also, I was in a kickball team and our name was The Grassholes. :)

Reply

In our house it’s Pepperidge Farm 15-Grain Bread or anything by When Pigs Fly bakery.

Two July goals: finishing up my WTFasana Yoga Challenge (5 yoga classes a week for a month) and selecting a fall marathon and starting training… the goal part of that is hitting the track, I think.

Sailing is my favorite sport to “play” besides running. I sailed for almost 15 years, but sort of transitioned to running during my senior year in college. I thought I just needed a change, but haven’t gone back!

I always think about buying the Justin’s brand, but it is just so expensive! My favorite sport to play is softball. Best sport, hands down!

Eggie in a basket! A sorority sister introduced it to me back in college and I absolutely love them. I used to make them with my roommate’s mom’s homemade sourdough bread. Oh it was heaven.

2 July goals:
1) Stay on top of PT as much as I can. Do my excerises at home.
2) Do not put weight on my leg. I am supposed to not weight bear for 6 weeks after surgery and as hard as it is, I know it will be better for me in the long run.

If you haven’t you MUST try Justin’s Maple Almond Butter and the Chocolate Hazelnut Butter…. now THATs life changing :)

I don’t discriminate, I love all bread.

Goals for July: Survive training in the AZ heat!!!!

Enjoy playing most sports: softball, basketball, soccer… :)

I don’t typically buy bread, but I do love sourdough when I go to Panera or a similar restaurant!

Sometimes I’ll buy a .99 Justin’s mini packet from Target if I feel like splurging a little on myself :)

2 July Goals (I’m totally making them up right now….)
1. I’d like to add one more day of running to my schedule, for a total of 4 days total (1 pleasure, 2 shorter, interval runs, and 1 looooong training run:) )
2. I suck at sports, yet I love to pretend to be good at dodgeball. It’s not fun until you bleed. Also along the same philosophy, Extreme Spoons. YouTube it, its super fun!

I was introduced to that egg dish under the name “Egg in a Basket”. So that’s what I call it. And I think they are DELICIOUS! I’ve always kind of wanted to make a BLT using them at the bread slices. Is this weird?!?! I should just go ahead and do it.

I grew up with Egg-in-a-hole…seriously mom made it all the time. It was my absolute favorite! Even to this day when I stay at their house my mom will make it for me. I am absolutely flabbergasted when someone tells me they have never had it….and then I got and make it for them right then….or ASAP or I make it when they aren’t around so I can eat it all myself.

I have not seen Justin’s vanilla almond butter.. Only the original and chocolate one and I stay clear of that due to my inability to leave it alone and eat it moderation… But I would love to try the vanilla one.
I never heard it called eggs in a hole. Growing up,we called it ” moon over Miami ” …and it really is one or my favorites. My husband will makes a version of it that is super delicious but definitely not healthy, low sugar or low fat lol. He uses either pepperidge farms cinnamon swirl or their raisin bread, then grill it in butter so it is really extra delicious and bad for you, and then after fully assembled with the egg in the middle, sprinkle cinnamon sugar all over it…delicious.
