I have to share something with you that I am very proud about.

I always pat myself on the back when I finish off a Costco sized bag of produce all by myself (actually Brooke did help me out with the broccoli…she loves it).  It makes me realize that I do in fact eat other things than just sugar and ice cream (my two favorite food groups).  I roasted up a big batch to add to my turkey and lettuce salad with Thai Peanut dressing for lunch.

DSC 4679

FINALLY I got my grapes exchanged.  Costco took the seeded ones back without any questions (they understand that no one would ever choose to eat seeded grapes) so now I am happy with my 5 lbs of the right type of grapes.

IMG 0147

On my 10k on Thursday I twisted my foot a little bit strange on the trail at one point and it felt a little sore yesterday so I decided just to be really really careful because one run is not worth injury.  Instead I did the rowing machine followed with a pump class.  I have really missed that class and I love the Saturday morning teacher because he somehow injects energy into every member of his class.

Brooke thinks the Cheesecake Factory is too loud.  PS the waiter brought her out her own little snack plate, it made me very happy.

DSC 4700

One more reason I love this couple a lot…..they love to split things (Billy doesn’t so I am always forced to just try one thing.  Hard life, I know).  I want to try the whole menu so eating with them allowed me to three THREE dishes.

We split the fish and chips.

DSC 4701

The chicken enchiladas (my favorite dish of the night) and the mac and cheese burger (on top of the patty is fried mac and cheese).

DSC 4702

They brought out a little ice cream sundae and we sang.  Brooke is trying to escape from me;)

One little sundae was not going to be enough.  I got some cheesecake to take home.  I don’t really love cheesecake that much but I do love the Snickers cheesecake because it is actually just like a big slice of candy bar.

Love the Cheesecake Factory! There are so many choices, but I’ve never left unsatisfied. Favorite go-to veggie is butternut squash, but I eat the most of spinach. There is just so much that you can do with it. Body Pump is great…. I went yesterday!

Reply

Happy birthday Billy! Last time I went to Cheesecake Factory was with my college soccer team at nationals. Love body pump, except the triceps parts.

Reply

I adore carrots, celery, and onions.

Oh, and I’ve never been to The Cheesecake Factory. It’s probably the name, as all things cheese scare me. My hub tells others we can stay married because I don’t eat cheese (and he loves it)!

Reply

I have only been to Cheesecake factory once, and I think I had the salad. It was long before V was alive.

Happy Birthday to Billy! My birthday was on the 2nd.

My favorite veggies are probably carrots.

Hi Janae! I stumbled upon your blog recently and just wanted to say that you are hilarious and your blog is so fun to read. Billy and my brother share a birthday! So neat! My favorite go-to vegetable is roasted green beans. I toss them with olive oil and pepper and they are so good! I always get a piece of the Godiva chocolate cheesecake!

Love Cheesecake Factory! They have SUCH good bread, i end up filling myself up with it before i get my meal! A good way to celebrate a birthday definitely!!! I’ve never had the fried Mac and cheese there but I really want to. Finishing large amount of frozen vegetables is pretty much my specialty

Happy Bday to your hubby! LOVE Cheesecake Factory. We just took my parents & in-laws while we were in Atlanta this weekend. Love the avocado eggrolls! So good! And lemon raspberry cheesecake! Double yum!

Reply

We buy Costco-sized spinach every week! We love green smoothies for breakfast. I love all vegetables though- zucchini, asparagus, broccoli, spinach, lettuce, mushrooms…

I love the Cheesecake Factory! I don’t remember what I like to get because its all so yummy, but I’m definitely a cheesecake person! So my night revolves around trying a few different kinds of cheesecake when we go there!

Happy birthday, Billy!!!

Reply

Happy Birthday Billy!! Can’t believe it’s been almost a year since I met you and Janae. Our lives have all changed so much in that time. All for the better!

At home, I ate spinach the most. But I just had the best carrots ever at a restaurant on Friday. I want more of them!

Love Cheesecake Factory! Good choice, Billy! I always order the Chicken Piccata, minus the chicken. My favorite dessert there is the Peppermint Bark Cheesecake. So good!

I have never tried a bump class. I need to be more adventurous in that area.

Reply

Baby Carrots. 5 lbs a week! I heard you can turn orange from eating too many though!? I’ll cut back if that starts to happen, haha. I’d rather not look like an Oompa Loompa…..

Reply

Baby carrots are a great way to get in veggies quickly!!

Reply

My favorite veggie lately is zucchini. My favorite way to prepare it is this recipe: http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2012/08/grilled-zucchini-with-yummy-lemon-salt/ It is DELICIOUS!!

Reply

My favorite cheesecake is their red velvet one. Oh my word… amazing!

Brooke is the cutest little girl EVER.

Happy Birthday Billy!!! My husband’s birthday is July 19th. Oh and the sister in law’s is on July 9th. Lots of July babies around here.

Reply

Happy birthday Billy!

My favorite vegetable is spinach. Though I like it a lot more raw – cooked it gets soggy and not to appetizing.

Reply

Happy birthday Billy!!! Joe and I had our first date at the cheesecake factory! Our go to ones were dulce de leche, red velvet, and cookie dough! Last time we went though we had an Oreo one that had cookies AND 6 inches of chocolate frosting. New favorite!

Reply

Yay for us july babies! Happy birthday to the Billster!!
Mine is the 11th!!
My go to veggies are broccoli, baby carrots, and cucumbers!
I love the cheesecake factory! So many options. So much cake!
I love their turkey burger and sweet potato fries
and the chocolate cheesecake. Nom Nom Nom!

Reply

Happy Birthday Bill(y)!!!

Never been the Cheesecake Factory but I always hear good things about it. Should probably get in there and test it out myself. I can’t pick just one veggie, I love em’ all- roasted broccoli, cauliflower, artichokes, spinach, kale… Ok you get the gist. I use to do Pump class several times per week but now I prefer to do weights on my own as I like to lift heavier with fewer reps. Fav muscles to work legs and shoulders.

Reply

Happy Birthday to Billy!!
My birthday is July 11th…summer birthdays are the best!

Ohmigoodness I love all veggies. I pretty much always have orange bell pepper, carrots, and broccoli on hand. Fresh veggies from my garden right now are amazing!

Carrot cake cheesecake. Yum. (actually that is all I have ever had from there, but it is quite yummy!)

I’ve never done bump, but when i do my “lifting” (hahaha, i am so bad at lifting. i would so rather be running!) my fav. muscles to work are abs, and least fav.- triceps or biceps.

Reply

Happy birthday Billster!!! I’ve never been to the cheesecake factory but I once went and bought a slice of cheesecake there. I wish I had someone to split entrees with, I always have to eat just one! :(

Reply

Happy birthday to your husband! Today is my birthday, too :) July 7 is a great day! I started off my birthday with a 5 mile run at 6:30 this morning. It was slow (because I’m slow and the TX heat isn’t something to mess with) but I’m happy! Today marks the first day of training for me, for my first FULL marathon. I am so excited! Hope you guys have a great day!

ps – Brooke is just the cutest thing. ALMOST as cute as my 15 month old son ;-)

Reply

Happy Birthday Billy!!! Mine is in the fall!
I don’t go to Pump, but my favorite muscle group to workout is tie, between back and shoulders :)
Favorite and go to vegetable is green beans!! I can eat so many of those. I’m always super excited when my family decides to cook them for the holidays :D
I’m not a fan of cheesecake either, but that snickers one does look pretty gooood.
The Cheesecake Factory, I’ve only been there a couple of times, one time when I was really young, and last year for the second time. Love their Caesar Salad, only wish it was bigger :)

Reply

Happy Birthday, Billy! My birthday is the 14th. I’ll be camping and can’t wait!

My go to veggie is roasted broccoli. It’s so easy and tastes so good!

Reply

Happy Birthday to Billy!

My favorite vegetable is either roasted brussel sprouts or lima beans! Anything roasted is delicious, though!

I don’t go to pump, but my favorite body part to work is my shoulders and least favorite is probably my abs (burns so good, though)

Reply

Happy Birthday Bill!

I love grilled asparagus! Actually I really love almost any veggie done on the BBQ right now!! I’ve never been to a pump class or heard of a pump class (until I started reading your blog). I’ve been looking through the program guides here but I don’t see it?! What does it involve? Maybe I can find something similar…

Reply

Happy birthday Bill!!

Asparagus is my most fave, followed by broccoli.

I like the Thai peanut noodles from CCF. And that cheesecake looks SO good!

I hope your foot is back 100% for your run Monday. I tried to run yesterday but I think my hamstring has finally had enough. It went from kinda hurting when I run to sharp pain :(

Reply

Happy birthday, Bill(y)! Asparagus is by far my favorite veggie!

Have a great Sunday!

Reply

Happy Birthday Billy!!!

Reply

I love spinach and kale. During the day I also snack on mushrooms and radishes.

My little sister loves Cheesecake Factory, and all my friends loved it in high school.. so I’ve ended-up there a lot. The chicken-littles are amazing. However, I only eat fish now, so I usually get the salmon. I wish I liked cheesecake, but I don’t really like cheese-tasting things.

Reply

Happy Birthday, Billy!

I love baby carrots and green beans and am trying to fill more of my diet with veggies instead of Froyo or ice cream. Notice the key words is “trying?” Cheesecake factory – Chicken Madeira hands down favorite. My husband got the Burrito the other night and it was huge!! I actually thought about trying the cheesecake you pictured but didn’t so now I think I have to!

Favorite muscles to work: chest, shoulders, and quads. Least favorite would be calves and hamstrings.

Reply

I’ve only been to Cheesecake Factory once, the day before my first marathon for lunch…but I remember it was delicious and seemed to sit well during the race!
As far as vegetables go, I could eat cucumbers ALL the time, plain or with ranch or hummus or salt or cream cheese.

Reply

I love Cheesecake Factory but the portions are huge – so we like to share at that restaurant only! Don’t you just love the little kids snack plates -so cute

Just realized that unless I do a roadtrip to Rochester, NY this summer – NO CHEESECAKE FACTORY for me this year – Noooooooo :-(

Reply

Happy Birthday Billy!

We went to the Cheesecake factory last night too! It was our first night out in months. I get ordering anxiety there with how huge their menu is, I ordered a chicken dish but was very jealous of all of the amazing looking salads all of the tables around us were getting.

There are no gyms that offer pump around here, I really want to try it though! Favorite veggies for me are broccoli and zucchini.

That picture of Brooke covering her ears is the absolute cutest.

Reply

grapes with seeds are just wrong. i’m glad you got your seedless grapes :) i’ve been eating a ton of roasted brussels sprouts, mushrooms, and bell peppers lately. i pretty much love all veggies, though!

happy birthday, billy! :)

CHEEEEEEESSSSEEEEECAAAAAAKKKKKEEEEEE. Happy Birthday Bill.

I love the pear and endive salad at Cheesecake Factory (might not be on menu, but they still make it). Also their Thai lettuce wraps are super yummy (three amazing sauces!).
And HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BILLY!

Reply

Happy Birthday Billy!!!!

Roasted Brussels sprouts…my body craves them!

Reply

Happy Birthday Billy! So funny – my husband and I went to Cheesecake factory last night where he had the mach and cheese burger too! I had a salad (awesome) and agreed with Brooke that it was too loud:) But I still had a great time! We went with the Dulce de Leche cheesecake – an excellent choice if I say so myself.

Reply

My mom and I just went to cheesecake factory over the weekend and had the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cheesecake (OMG). I can’t even begin to explain how good it is. The size of the slice was insane too. The two of us couldn’t even finish it!

Reply

Happy birthday Bill! I now know one person with a July birthday…seriously, everyone I know was born sometime during the other 11 months.

My go-to vegetable is broccoli. Can’t get enough of it.

Not a huge fan of the Cheesecake Factory, I agree with Brooke that it’s often too noisy. That said, I really haven’t been there in awhile for that fact.

Reply

Happy birthday, Billy! I also have a July birthday :) I’ll be 25 on July 12. My go to vegetable is green beans. Yum! And my favorite thing at Cheesecake Factory is a slice of plain cheesecake. I’m a purist when it comes to cheesecake.

Reply

Happy birthday Billy! Was his bday actually Saturday the 6th? My oldest daughters bday was yesterday too.

My favorite cheesecke there is the white chocolate macadamia. I honestly don’t know what my favorite meal is there cause I only care about the dessert, lol.

Oh my favorite veggie is also broccoli and cauliflower. Yum!

Reply

Happy Birthday to Bill(y)!
I love buying the big bags of stir fry veggies. Onions, broccoli, mushrooms are the best.
I’ve been to the cheesecake factory once and I just wasn’t a huge fan. Maybe because I didn’t get cheesecake?

Reply

Haaaaappyyyyy Birthday BILLY!!! :) I’m with you on the cheesecake, Janae. Snickers would be good because it isn’t like real cheesecake, though.

xo

Reply

Happy birthday, Billy! My birthday is July 31! Coming up ;) Spinach is my go to vegetable. I cannot get enough of it.

Reply

Happy birthday Billy!
I think that baby carrots and spinach tend to be my go-tos when it comes to veggies.

Reply

That cheesecake looks AMAAAAZING. I need to adopt your thinking when looking at huge menus – instead of anxiety, just order several small plates and taste! You can always bring it home, right?? :D

Reply

Haha! It looks like Brooke is doing crunches :) That’s adorable that they brought her a snack plate!

Happy Birthday Billy! I wish, well maybe I don’t wish, we had cheesecake factory near here. Those enchiladas look so good! My go to veggies are cucumbers and tomatoes. Mainly because I grow them in my garden and all I have to do is walk outside. But I love spinach too.

Reply

Congrats on your 10k win!

I also buy the Costco broccoli….lol. I’m super curious about that mac and cheese burger. I bet it was delish! :D

Hi! Don’t know if you remember but I met you in Chandler with my son Jack recently. My birthday is today too!! Feliz cumpleanos Billy! I can go through cherry tomatoes like nobody’s business!! I know that’s technically a fruit but I count it as a veggie to make myself feel better ;)

Happy birthday to Billy! I was wondering if you could write a post on some good tips to making new friends? You seem to have adapted so easily in California and I would love to hear your advice!

Reply

That is a great post idea! I will start working on it!

Hi! I read your blog everyday, but have never posted. I love that your blog is so positive and you motivate me to workout! I am a July birthday (the 18th) and my son’s is the 10th (he’ll be five). :) I’m actually going to the Cheesecake Factory for my birthday as well and I love their pita and hummus plate, avocado rolls, and the veggie burger. The pineapple upside down cheesecake is AMAZING (and so is their strawberry shortcake).

Happy Birthday to Billy and thanks for the fun read everyday!

Reply

Okay now I have to go back to Cheesecake Factory to try all of these things! Happy birthday this month and thank you so much for your comment!

Reply

Happy Birthday Billy!! Hope this summer has been fabulous! :)

Go-to veggie = carrots.

I typically have one of the cheesecake factory’s ginormous salads!

I teach BodyPump….I love working the shoulders. My least favorite is biceps….. shhh! Don’t tell anyone!

Reply

Happy Birthday to Billy!! Hope you guys are having an awesome birthday celebration day! :)

Reply

Happy Birthday Billy! My favorite veggie is kale. I eat it every day. Never been to a Cheese Cake Factory but now I want to go to one. That snicker dessert looks wonderful!

Reply

Cheesecake Factory – fish tacos and Reece’s cheesecake.

Veggie – avocado

My kids think everything is too loud too. When we went to Disneyland last summer they spent half the trip with their hands over their ears.

Reply

Happy Birthday, Bill!!

Cheesecake Factory – Caramel Pecan Turtle Cheesecake! I’m licking my lips right now!

I’m a veggie freak so it’s hard to pick just one. I eat tomatoes all the time, on sandwiches, cut into chunks, whatever…love em :)

Reply

I LOVE pump class. Probably my fave muscle group would be legs as they are the strongest and I can really challenge myself in that track.

My fave vege is also Brocolli, and I do love me a bit of cauli too :)
Oh, and Happy Birthday Billy!!

Reply

Happy birthday to your hubby! My all-time favorite dessert to get at The Cheesecake Factory is Linda’s Fudge Cake. Absolutely, hands-down THE best 7-layer chocolate cake you’ll every have! :) It’s a good thing the closest one is over an hour away or I’d be getting a piece at least once a week! :)

My favorite veggies are carrots, broccoli, green beans, and raw spinach…I’ll eat it cooked, but prefer it in a salad.

Reply

Happy birthday to your gorgeous husband! Looks like you guys had a fun night :) I’ll celebrating the big 3-1 on the 14th. Officially in my 30s. Yikes.

Happy birthday Billy! The dinner looks awesome!

hope your bday was fantastic billy!
mine is July 21…and it’s the big 3-0!

Reply

I have to say I’m actually quite surprised you returned the grapes. The only food item I’ve ever returned to Costco was meat and it was only because when I opened it, the day after I bought it, it was rotten. I just think that Costco shouldn’t have to eat the cost of the grapes that you bought by accident.

Reply

Ah July 7th is my birthday too! And then our family has several other July birthdays – sister and niece both July 3rd, stepsister July 5th, and cousin July 9th.
Favorite veggie that may or may not be a veggie is Jersey tomatoes. I love them with salt and pepper and a dash of vinegar, the bestest… now is only I could get back to NJ this summer

Reply

Yay! Congrats on finding the perfect place to live. I’m so happy for you! However, I have to disagree with you on cheesecake. It’s off the charts for me – I LOVE it! Good news for me would be that my run went so well last night! After my last terrible run, I took a couple days off and ran in much cooler conditions. It’s amazing what heat can do to you! So today is a rest day for me. Tomorrow I’ll be taking my nieces to the Como Zoo. We’re all very excited for it, so that’s more good news. =) Have a lovely day and a safe flight!
