I don’t understand this and celebrating my cousin’s birth the best way we know how.

There was this one time that I made my cousin (on her birthday) go ride the cable cars with me and then we ended up standing in line for 90 minutes to wait in line for it.   Good thing she is the best sport ever and went along with my obsession of touring the city via an old cable car that is packed with 40 people at a time.

DSC 5130

It was totally worth the wait.  And Brookers loved every second.

DSC 5138

Of course we had to take a picture off of the side like everybody else does.

IMG 0279

Next item on the agenda was to explore Chinatown.

IMG 0285

Did you really think I wouldn’t take her for chocolate dipped sprinkle cones with chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream on her birthday?  Of course I did.  And we ate it right before dinner just the way that she wanted (I didn’t complain.  I don’t know why more people don’t eat ice cream before dinner).

IMG 0282

We also saw this 5 lb chocolate bar and I actually almost shelled out 60 bucks for this thing.

DSC 5126

La Taqueria on Mission and 25th street is said to have the best tacos in San Francisco (according to Yelp, which is always correct).  I had the chicken and carne asada tacos and Yelp was right (like always).  Please go there if you like tacos.  And guacamole.

IMG 0284

And then we drove home and I got in to my pajamas within 5 seconds and my cousin went for her run on my treadmill.  She is a night runner.  I simply can’t understand this phenomenon because I can barely walk in a straight line after 8 pm.

Do I have any night runners reading?  Do you enjoy running at night or is that the only time you can get your run on?

I definitely would have shelled out the $60! Ghirardelli rocks.

If I don’t run in the morning it doesn’t happen. My brain talks me out of it too easily. Unless of course I have my bf kick me out of the house and won’t let me back in until I run… it’s happened and I thank him.
I’m doing speedy work today! whoohoo!

Those tacos looks soo good. and is it me or is $60 for the 5lb chocolate bar sound like a good deal? you dont even want to know what i’d shell out for that thing :) ive never been to san fran but i would totally be standing in that line too if i ever get there!!

Riding the cable cars sounds like fun. Happy birthday to your cousin! Have a wonderful day!

Okay, all of those food items look divine! I would sell my soul to try out those tacos I’m sure, ;)

During the school year I am also a night runner. But now that us teachers in Canada are on Summer vacation, :D I can run in the morning…..it is the best!

Reply

I’ve become a night runner in the past few weeks as it’s the only time I’ve been able to get my run in/I’ve designated mornings as my blogging time. As I can’t run while the sun’s completely up, I have to go at dusk. Running in the summer is not as fun – I’m a total winter running girl. My ideal temp is 30 F. This is the only reason why I miss winter.

My workout today is a 5-mile tempo and then another 5-miles pacing at a beginner runners group. The latter will be super slow outside which will be nice as we have a heat advisory on in Chicago until tomorrow.

I’ve become accustomed to a horrible routine. I’ll workout at dusk, come home – sit on the couch with my family and pass out and then drag my butt up to bed around midnight. I really need to work on that…

I last went to San Francisco a while ago but your pictures make me miss it – I think I need to organize a trip out there with friends soon!

Reply

I can only run in the morning, my legs feel like lead pipes if I try to run at night. I wonder if that 5 pds $60 chocolate bar would help me run at night though?? Looks like your cousin had a great birthday with you and Brooke.

Reply

Mmmmm I haven’t even eaten breakfast yet but now you have me hungry for tacos and ice cream!

Today is actually the first time I’m going to try night time running. I’m actually super nervous because it’ll be super hot And I’m not used to running with food in my stomach. Here goes nothin!

Reply

I’m a night runner! I put my kids to bed and then run on my treadmill unless my husband is home and I can go outside.

Reply

I ran last night at 7pm. Evening runs are the best!
De-frag and think about the day (which usually requires de-fragging! lol)
I cannot stay up late. The latest I’ve been able to keep my eyes open lately is 10pm. That’s because I started my run at 7, finished at 8, cleaned up, prepped for next morning, ate some hummus and chips, and then finally ….. crawled into bed and watched Modern Family – one of the funniest shows on.
Question .. what is with your weather? Some days I see you sweating buckets, and other days (like this one) you have a jacket on!? It is almost 100 degrees here in OC, Md.

Reply

I was thinking the same exact thing!!! My best friend used to live in SF and she told me that it’s always summerish there but you also ALWAYS need to bring a jacket with you. She said it gets really hot just for three weeks or so every year…

Reply

Those tacos!!!

My husband and I went to San Fran a year and a half ago. Right after Christmas in 2011. I love it there. And we seriously had the best cookie bottom sundae of our lives at Ghiradelli. Insane. We are definitely dessert eaters. Me and you could be swell friends.

Reply

I run in the mornings. I hit a wall around 2pm and I’m just too tired to do anything else later besides eat and sit on the couch. Ice cream before dinner is such a good idea. I don’t know why I don’t do it more often!

Reply

I always run at night! I don’t know if it is because I grew up in south Texas and it is always hot or I actually enjoy it, but I’ve done it for so long that I hate running in the mornings. It takes me a long time to wake up in the mornings :-P

Reply

I can’t run once the sun sets. The only thing I know how to do when it is dark is lay on my couch. Lately I have been going to bed at 10pm to be up and semi awake for my early morning runs.

Reply

I notice you are wearing the ultra cool ray bans!!! Awesome. My husband would have bad to peel me off the window from the drool I would have produced from that chocolate bar. I have a little {okay BIG} addiction to chocolate … Ghirardelli is THE best. After all everything is better with chocolate. I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t let me in the store after I drooled all over their window like a complete idiot. Lol {sad…but true} Hello my name us Kim and I am addicted to chocolate.

Reply

I am forced to be an evening runner due to work, but if I had my way I would run every morning between 8-9 it is the perfect time! She was able to run after eating all that? I think I may have thrown up had I tried to do that. :-)

Reply

I went out for a tempo run at 5:45 this morning since the heat index is supposed to be 105 today. Ugh!

I’ve been to San Francisco several times, but not for a few years. I’ve never been to the Ghirardelli store. :-(

Reply

I’m an early morning runner, but occasionally I have to get an evening run in.
My workout is postponed today, because I think I have some sort of stomach thing going on. Goody.
I’ve been in bed by 9:00, but usually do stuff on the computer until about 10:30.

Reply

I love San Francisco! Such good food there!

I ran with my dog a little this morning and tonight I’m going to run a couple of miles and then go to Pure Barre. I’m more of a after work runner during the week.

Reply

I am SO NOT a night runner. I am terrible at it. During the winter the best time for me to run is about 4 and that is hard to get used to.
I am only doing short and slow and lots of stretching hoping to fight of a little pain in my it band. It is thinking about being an injury and making me soooo nervous!
I usually like to be in bed by 11 but the last 2 weeks we have been so busy it has been between 12 and 1 almost every night , even later a few nights. I ready to be done with that!
Forget the chocolate, I want the ice cream!!!! :)
Oh yeah!!! I pinned a beach ball fruit tray to my pinterest I thought you might be interested in it for Brooke’s bday!!!!!

Reply

Night runner here for sure. Usually around 8pm because it’s cool then but sometimes even later. Last night I was on the treadmill finishing 5 miles about midnight. I’ve been known to finish a 10 miler at 1am. That IS the extreme but if it’s the only time to get my run in…I do it.

Reply

Those ice cream cones look amazing. Can you mail one to Michigan asap?! :)

Spin class this morning. 10 mile run planned for Saturday! I do not mind evening runs but if I do, try to get it in before 7pm. I prefer working out in the morning though!

Typically go to bed somewhere between 10-11.

I have never been to San Fran! boo! I’ve been to Maui, and Vegas, but never CA. I really want to one day though.

Reply

I went for a 4 mile run this morning and did some abs! Love being completed early in the morning. I have never been a night runner. The only time I would do it is if the weather was beautiful and I just needed out! If I don’t workout in the morning, it’s a slim chance I do it any other time of the day

Reply

I am a 4 pm runner. That is the exact time when the stars align perfectly and I have the right amount of energy and am not too tired.

Reply

I absolutely love the grey/khaki pants you have been wearing lately! (was that a creepy statement?) where are they from??

I have been going to bed way too late… I have to be at my desk at 7:00 a.m. and have been going to bed after 11:30. I need at least 8 hours!!

Reply

Sometimes when I am having that “what is my problem?” commentary with myself feeling sluggish on morning runs……I’ll switch it up to evenings for a few days……..especially if I am just looking to work out, not in the midst of training for anything.

Reply

I definitely prefer morning running. I have to run at night tonight and tomorrow and I’m just not that excited about it. But tonight is only 6 miles, so that will be great!

Oh man, I always mean to go to bed by 10:30 but it’s always closer to 11:30. It’s bad. Really bad. Cause then I get up at 5:45 no matter what and I’m exhausted all day. I really need to fix this.

All the food in this post looks delicious!! I’m probably coming to San Fran this fall, so I’ll definitely hit these places up!

Reply

I <3 SF so much! I am so so jealous that you live close. I want to move there asap!

Reply

Completely an evening runner – only time I get free, if at all lately. Plus the Tiny FratBoys have been going to bed finally around 10pm and I can not seem to move my body in the morning to get out early for a run.

I have been to San Fran – once. Went a few yrs ago (5?) with my hubs and our oldest son (as he was an only still). Loved it and wish we had more time to explore there. We stayed close to Burlingame for our hotel and I LOVED walking around and exploring that little city. If you haven’t been there, you are missing out :)

Reply

I have never been to San Francisco (or California at all) but I really want to go. I looooove the idea of dessert first! I don’t mind running in the evening if it is the only time I can fit it in, but I prefer to get it done earlier in the day so I can spend my night watching TV and eating ice cream :).

Today’s workout is yoga and an easy run!

Reply

It’s baffling to me that you are wearing pants and coats! Is it chilly there??? It is so hot right now, 95 and stifling humidity – I’m jealous of your weather:)
I bombed a 5 x mile repeat workout this morning and am now sitting with the aftermath of a horrible run. It’s not fun. But I guess we need these ones just like the rest!! I might try a little tempo rematch later. Upward and onward;-)

Brooke is so adorable!

I am SO not a night runner… I can barely function after 6pm and usually go to bed around 9:30 at night.

My workout was a 5 mile run this morning. Tried to beat the heat! :)

I went to SF 10 years ago for Christmas with my family. I loved it and really want to go back! Have you toured Alcatraz yet? That’s usually not my sort of thing but it was actually a great tour (with the audio).

In the fall when school starts I’ll become a night runner again. I love it. it’s so peaceful. But for right now I’m morning girl. San Francisco looks so fun! Ice cream + Tacos, yesss.

I’m definitely an evening runner. It kills me to get out of bed in the morning but once the real heat kicks in here in South Carolina I’ll have no choice!

How did you not buy that bar of choclate…two minutes thats all I’d need..all evidence would be erased lol

I could never run that late ate night — especially on a stomach of ice cream and tacos! Haha. Good for her.

I always prefer to run in the morning (after my breakfast settles)…I’m headed to the gym to do my run soon actually – it’s way too humid out today to get in a great run.

Reply

Can I just tell you that having a running buddy is AMAZING!? That being said, we’ve been doing our runs before 6am, to beat the heat. It is just awesome, we talk when we want to and keep each other in pace! We did 6 miles yesterday and I swear garmin was lying…felt like 2! Running Buddies RULE!

No workout today….wedding dress fitting instead. Another 6 miler tomorrow!
I’ve been going to bed around 11pm lately…sometimes later so getting up early for a run isn’t always pleasant, but I never regret it!

I was in SF about 9 years ago, when I was 22 for a work trip! Had some awesome crab when I was there!

My dad got me one of those 5 lb. chocolate bars for Christmas one year, and I used to sneak down to the basement where I stashed it (e.g. hid it from my husband) and cut a chunk off every night. It was so thick and hard that one night, my knife slipped and cut a huge chunk out of my finger instead. That kind of put a damper on my love of the secret 5 lb. chocolate bar.

Summer school is over so I have officially switched to nighttime running since my kids are too young to be left home alone. I feel good once I get out there, but I do spend most of my day dreading the run…I definitely prefer to knock it out in the a.m.!

Is it wrong that those tacos look amazing even before 9 a.m.?! Yum!

Reply

I love San Francisco! It’s my favorite city. My favorite area there is the Mission District, go there for awesome ice cream at Bi-Rite!

Reply

I can’t help but notice that you are all in jackets. Is it cold there?? We are melting in heat and humidity right now. I’m appreciating the colder months now that I live in a place with changing seasons.

Reply

How people workout past 6pm Is beyond me. My body stops all vigorous movements at 6pm. Swear. Then again, I’m the energizer bunny at 4am. I usual get stuck having l teach 7pm classes and it is TORTURE. Sounds like your cousin had the best bday ever!

Reply

I feel the same way about morning runners… I just don’t understand it. I’m doing a glo-run next week & so excited that finally a race is at MY time instead of the insane hours of getting up at 5:00 am!

Reply

You, your cousin, and Brooke are all so gorgeous!

I’m never able to run at night, either. Whenever I do, it’s like I can feel the day’s food sloshing around in my stomach and weighing me down and I always, without fail, get cramps.

Reply

I am MOST CERTAINLY a night time runner. The fact that my bed is oh so comfy in the morning coupled with the fact that I dont go to bed until 11pm makes morning running a silly thing for me. Of course my running groups run in the morning. Ack! But I do it. I figure all my short runs are at night (and lately on the treadmill from all the heat) and then my long runs are in the mornings outside, so I should be good come marathon time.

Reply

I went to San Fransisco once year ago and I absolutely loved Chinatown! It was soo much fun!

I’m an evening runner (5:00-6:30pm) but I have done night runs relatively regularly in the past too! I’m not a morning person so if its hot night is best!

6 km hills run tonight plus biking to and from the university for my course.

I’ve been trying to get to bed between 10:30 and 11 so that I can get those 8 hours but I have a friend staying with me and I’m in a wedding soon so there have been sooo many distractions lately!

I have never been to San Francisco but would absolutely love to go!!

Reply

I used to run at like 5:30 or 6 everyday after work, but never really at night. Today’s run was a 7 miler split up between the horrible hot and humid weather outside and the gloriously cool basement.

Welp.. this post made me hungry

Even though I go to school in SFSU, I didn’t explore the city much, haha.
And my roommate is a night runner, so we would go to the school track together a couple times a week.

I would just delete those odd links. I think they get your asdders if you click on them.I like the Yo Yo colours. I have a new one of those makers- I have still not tried it! I won it in a draw.

I’m taking it easy this week, but I think my workout might be a short run later in the day. I usually go to bed around 9 or 10, unless it’s the weekend and I’m out later. I went to San Francisco when I was in 8th grade and haven’t been back, although I’d love to!

Reply

I ate ice cream before AND after dinner yesterday… Why not? ;)

And I still want to know where you got those adorable beige crops you’re wearing! J. Crew maybe?

Love the awesome cable car pic! I am NOT a night runner. I ran a 7-mile trail race on Tuesday evening. Felt great during the race, but I could not get to sleep that night. Was wide awake at 1:30 a.m., gave up and took a shower at 2:00, finally feel asleep at 3:00. 6:00 came WAY too early yesterday!

Just finished a speed workout at the track. ROCKED 12 x 400! Woohoo!

Reply

Morning runner!!! Don’t understand how people can run at night, I’d fall asleep. 10 mile run today!! So excited :D. I’ve been to SF a couple times, which honestly is weird since I live so close to it. Lately I have been in bed every night by 9 and falling asleep by 9:45

I could NEVER run at night especially with a belly full of ice cream and tacos! Power to her! She must have a strong stomach! I’ve been going to bed between 11-12 lately. Grandma is stayin’ up past her bedtime lately!

A night runner? Oh wow. I wish I had a treadmill so I could do that, shower and then roll right into bed!

I’m a night runner but not by choice. I have to be at work at 6;30 am everyday! But on the weekends I’m most definitely a morning work out person. I really want my own treadmill. We have an elliptical that I use annually lol

Those tacos – oh my gosh, I NEED THOSE!

My husband likes to work out at night and I like to work out in the morning. I slept in this morning actually because last night I made the uncharacteristic decision to workout at night today. Sometimes you just have to catch up on sleep!

Reply

San Francisco is right down the road from me (okay… 4.5 hours…) so I have been there several times. It’s my most favorite city in the entire world and I feel like a local when I visit.

I run in the afternoons, after work/school. Sometimes it’s horrible, but I think waking up early is even more horrible.

Today I will run around my neighborhood and then workout my shoulders in my living room.

Reply

those tacos look AMAZING!!! I love Yelp:)

I have been to SF twice but both for a very short time and too long ago!

I’m a mixed morning/night runner in the sense that I’m a night runner trying desperately to convert to a morning runner.

Brooke’s eyes look SO BLUE in that picture of her in her jacket! She’s gorgeous! Looks like your cousin had a great bday!

Morning running fo sho. When I get home from work, all I want to do is relax and cook dinner! Plus, I always feel better after getting a run in early.

Reply

Ross orders desserts for appetizers all the time :) That ice cream looks amazing. I friggin love Ghiradelli. Last time I was in SF I bought some of their damaged/broken chocolate and use it for baking throughout the year (they sell it cheaper than that huge block). Well, let’s be honest, I bought a few pounds and it didn’t last too long with all the baking I do. Ha!

Can I just say that I am jealous y’all are wearing jackets in this post? And those tacos look ah-mazing! I can taste the guac and pico just looking at it.

I may have also hummed the theme song to Full House from the moment I saw those trolley cars to the end of the post. Speaking of, Jesse and the Rippers are getting ‘back together’ to do a performance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon this week. I am probably waaay more excited about that than I should be.

Shoo be doo bop da da.

Looks like such a fun time, and happy birthday to your cousin!
I seriously don’t understand how people workout at night. I can only do it first thing or else I’ll just talk myself out of it…or die of heat…whichever is first.

Reply

I ran 3 miles into work this morning (mostly because I got up late and didn’t have time to get my normal run in) and showed up soaking wet in the heat and humidity we have been having. I plan to round it out with another 7 after work on my way home.

I have been going to bed too late – around 11:30 – which is not early enough for my regular 5am wake up time (hence the sleeping in this morning)

Reply

I want to ride a cable car! We have streetcars in New Orleans and those are basically the same thing, but I’d like to do it in San Fran.

I’m not a night runner, per se, but I would usually rather run in the late evening. My favorite time is right before sunset.

Reply

Can guacamole be considered a food group????

Reply

Definitely not a night runner. My workout today was a 5 miler at 5 am. I’m DYING over the ice cream, taco & guac pics. SOOOO GOOD! Never been to San Fran but it’s on the list.

We run after work because that is the only time it works out with our schedules. Good training for running in the evening at rock n roll Vegas half marathon in November. Brooke is so adorable!

Those tacos look great.
I prefer to get my run done with in the mornings. Today I just did 6 miles and this afternoon I will run another 5 to 6. Although I will say in a perfect world i would like to run at 10 am or 11. This way I could have breakfast and give myself a few hours to wake up then run then have a great lunch.
And I have always wanted to ride on one of those cars too, reminds me of Full House :).

I know this is kind of random but I’m so excited that I’m telling everyone :) I’m engaged!!!!!!!!!! Christian proposed to me at Disneyland on Saturday!!!! <33

I've never done the cable cars, but I agree that ice cream should be eaten right before dinner ;)

First I have to say that I am now salivating for a sprinkle cone with cookie dough ice cream. Truly jealous.

Ran 5 miles this morning, that will be it for the day!

San Francisco is one of my favorite places to visit. I won’t say “and run” because Nike Women’s last year was the hardest full I have ever done! Holy hills.

Reply

I wish i could be a morning person because then i could do more running outside before it gets crazy hot. Howecer, I’m forced to be a night runner because I have to be at work too early.

Today is a 6-miler followed by some strength training. I will earn my off day tomorrow!

I’ve been going to bed waaaayyy too late. My goal used to be to be sleeping by 10:30. Now, I’m barely creeping into my bed before midnight. It’s a problem.

Yay! San Francisco! We’ll be there over Labor Day weekend I think.

Reply

I am definitely a night/ evening runner. If I relied on getting out of bed early every morning to run, I would never run.

The tacos look AMAZING! Almost as amazing as Brooke’s blue eyes. I used to nearly always run at night. It was the only time I could get child care (i.e. my husband would be home). I grew to really enjoy it, though it was hard to hold the energy all day sometimes. I love playing tourist in SF. I’m so glad you’re enjoying this awesome area :)

Reply

Brooke’s eyes looking amazing in that picture. Such a cutie!

I don’t understand working out at night. I’d have to do it after 7:30pm after the kids go to bed and that just isn’t happening because that’s dinner and TV time for my husband and I.

Morning workouts are where it’s at! Get it done and out of the way, plus you’re riding that runner’s high all day. Love it!

Reply

I just want to go out with you for a day and eat what you eat. YUM! It would be so fun…it always looks so good! (Then, we could go for a walk….hey, wait! We would be walking all day so that’s enough exercise for me for the day ;-)

No evening exerciser of any sort here….it would keep my head spinning for hours and I wouldn’t get to sleep til after midnight…..I usually go to bed by 9:30…so sad I know. (But I am up at 5:30 most days ;-)

Reply

I enjoy nighttime running as long as it’s not a long run because I usually can’t fall asleep afterwards. I really struggle to exercise in the morning. Maybe one of these days!! I was in San Francisco in 2011 for the Nike Women’s Marathon. Such an amazing event.

Reply

I enjoyed reading each and every comment posted today because it seems like 90% of the people like running in the morning and cannot understand how people can run in the evening while I cannot understand the opposite!!! I do all my runs in the evening (except for my weekend long run) and I don’t get how you guys can do things like tempo runs and intervals first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach! I’d probably die after the first interval or so ;) I like doing speed workout in the evening because I have the whole day to fuel my body properly for it and hydrate. Also, doing easy runs at the end of the day helps me relaxing and sleeping better! Lastly, I like having all the time that I need for my runs, so that I can stretch properly afterwards and I can run more if I feel like it-I wouldn’t probably be able to do so in the morning because I would keep thinking about not being late for work and such! By all means though, I think morning runners are those who do it better since afterall, 98% of the races are in the morning, so training in the morning makes absolutely more sense ;)

I have to run intervals at 10K pace this evening and I want to go to SF so badly!!! And unfortunately, I never manage to go to bed before 12:00 AM…

Reply

Totally with you on this, Martina. It’s the not having enough time to really eat before running that gets me about morning running.

As fitness addict who works from 7-4 most days. I have tried working out and running in the morning at 4:30am, but I find myself having to rush through workouts. Putting a time constraint doesn’t help me have a good workout.

However, if I go right after work, there are wayy too many people in the gym. I don’t like feeling crowded.

Therefore, my only option, which I enjoy and have adapted to make it work is going to the gym at 8pm. I love it, not too many people and no rush (not to mention I’m so tired after that I sleep much better!).

Reply

I;m def an a.m. exerciser for sure! I sometimes teach in the evenings though, but I could never do my own workouts then. Wayyy too tired by 8!

mmmmm ice cream!

Only times I do night runs is when I do the Relay (from Calistoga through SF to Davenport/Santa Cruz).

I feel very lucky to live in the SF Bay area. We play “tourist/host” for out of town friends a lot and it’s the best.

I’m definitely an evening runner. The mornings are way too humid for me. Also, I think I’ve been programmed to run later in the day ever since the days of after-school track/XC practices. I run before eating dinner though, I don’t think I could really run after.

It is so hot here today that I can not even think about running and I LOVE the heat!!!
Those ice creams look delicious by the way!

I would have been tempted to shell out $60 too! Looks incredible. And I will definitely have to remember that taco place if I’m in San Francisco, my obsession with guacamole is pretty intense.

Pretty sure I could devour that whole chocolate bar! It’s a weakness. Also, I would love to win those sunglasses now if only it came with the human sized chocolate bar.

Next time you want to ride the cable cars, here is a tip for you from an SF-er. Get on in Union Square. Do NOT wait in that long line to get up the hill. Walk a few blocks up Powell St to the next cable car stop and get on. If it’s not full, you can hop right on w/o waiting. The trick is to get out of the crazy packed with people areas and get on. The driver might also think you are a local and let you on, even if it’s packed! :-)

Best tip ever. Seriously thank you so much!

I was going to say that-go down a little from Union Square NO LINE!! I love San Francisco and we are so lucky to call it our city. One definite place every tourist should see is a Giants game if they are in town. That park is a destination unto itself even if you aren’t a big baseball (or Giants ) Fan. It’s a must on my list-

I love running at 8AM it’s the best. In a month though its back to work and 5 PM runs. Boo hiss.

Ahh, I miss San Francisco. I haven’t been since I was young. Definitely need to get back there. Especially since I have heard magical things about those tacos. Glad you got to try them!

I am definitely a morning runner and am a zombie by 8 pm! I had a 4 mile tempo run this morning :) That choco-dipped ice cream cone looked phenomenal… especially now, I always get the afternoon munchies!

Brooke’s eyes look SOOO blue in the pic with the blue jacket. So cute!

My workout today is a class called Muscle Up. It is an intense strength training class that always leaves me sore (in a good way!)

My sister lives in San Francisco so I’ve been there a couple of times. I LOVE it there, especially in the summer. I live in hot, muggy, humid Washington, D.C. so when we go visit in the summer it is such a nice break from our weather here. I’d move there if I could!

Aww it has been 10 years since I’ve been to San Fran and I am really jonesing for a trip back. Seeing these pics is not helping! It looks like you had a great time though :)

I am not a night runner at all! I spent about 3 weeks in SF for work about 7 years ago.

Now it feels like Christmas. The annual scamlbre for Ballycotton10places. Forms getting mixed up in the Christmas post. Online system now, is that the new thing..!Once I’m in I better start training. Ahhh Shur I’ll wait until the New Year. The Original, the Best. Long may we have the health to run it…Good man John Walshe and all your crew.

I used to be a night runner after college and before I got married. That all changed once I had kids. If I’m already going to be up early, I might as well get my run in early.

I want to visit San Francisco because your blog posts make it sound amazing. I prefer to run in the evening but the heat forces me to run in the morning.

Oh my goodness, I want to eat those tacos right now! Whenever we go out for Mexican, I always have to get tacos, I am not a burrito or quesadilla person at all, only tacos! Funny that you mention night running…. I ALWAYS run in the a.m., until this week, when I met a friend for an 8 pm run. It was awful! She always runs at night and I was totally the slow friend dragging the pace down. Maybe it had something to do with our heat wave (I live in NC) and it was still well over 80 degrees! Morning runs are where it’s at, for sure!

Definitely NOT a night runner here…and definitely, DEFINITELY NOT a night runner after ice cream and tacos… Sometimes I’ll sneak a run in before dinner, if that is the *only* time available, but I will not, no, no, no, NOT run after dinner. Ick.

My husband used to live in LA (on the topic of “delicious tacos”), so we would go up to SF maybe once a year or so. Now…not so much, unfortunately. But thankfully, I can live vicariously through you, and your trips! :)

I used to be a night runner, but lately I’m digging my morning runs so much more. It’s cooler, and I don’t have to worry about feeling “heavy” after all my delicious eats that day ;)

My bedtime is usually around 11. I’d LOVE to visit SF, but I need to get out to the West coast first!

I’m a night runner when I can find a babysitter. Otherwise I take the double jogging stroller and go with my kids during the day. I need to start a treadmill fund lol.

You make me want to visit SF! And Cali for that matter. So jealous :). You will have to post all about Brooke’s first Disneyland trip when u take her one day :).

I’m a night runner. I love running at night, it’s nice and cool, it’s dark so no one can see me, and it helps me switch off from work. I also have far more energy at night even after a 10hr day in the office!

I usually run after work! It’s not really night time, but I guess it counts because it’s around 5:30-6pm!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE SF! It’s my favorite city and my husband and I want to move there so badly! Unfortunately we live across the US (in Charlotte, NC) so it’s been tough to find a job out there :) I am always so jealous whenever you’re there, you lucky duck!

I do enjoy running at night…since I tend to be a bit of a night hawk. BUT I have been very good with my bedtime lately and it has been around 11pm

chocolate dipped sprinkles cones AND tacos with guacamole?! best meal ever!! =) i agree, i’d rather run in the morning than at night (and i wouldn’t think ice cream and tacos would make for a good pre-run meal, lol).

Those cones look AMAZING ahh now I want ice cream!

I am definitely not a night time workout girl. No way. It’s gotta be in the morning otherwise I’ll come up with a million reasons not to do it haha.

Going to Palo Alto in 2 wks to visit sis in law! LOVE the pier. Have you had the clam chowder bowl?

Those tacos look absolutely incredible. I love so many things about WA, but the lack of good mexican food makes me want to move (it’s the only thing that does). It is so hard to see your amazing food knowing that there is no place around here that even comes close.
