Chocolate chip cookie for dinner, Brooke’s nursery and running in a coconut bra.

Just the normal afternoon of going on a long walk together and then playing in the grass as she tries to poke my eyeballs out with the car key.  PS it is my favorite when she is smiling so big that she gets little nose wrinkles.

I have never decorated a room in my life.  I don’t know what I am doing.  I run.  I don’t know how to do crafts but I really like how Brooke’s room turned out so far.

I made the banner with the help of a really good friend and the dresser was from my aunt (we painted it and bought some those little yellow knobs).   The piggy bank is from Babies “R” Us…. gotta start teaching her how to save now.

DSC 4276

The AMAZING mobile that I love so very much is from HERE and the INCREDIBLE You Are My Sunshine prints are from HERE.   For both items I sent pictures of the colors from the banner to the makers and they matched the colors perfectly to the room.

DSC 4287

And I love the sign right by the door (from Target…thanks Brittany!):

DSC 4300

Still working on the third wall:)

When Billy got home from work and I asked him what he wanted for dinner he said he was still stuffed from his all you can eat Indian meal at lunch.  This boy is getting some amazing lunches this summer.  Spoiled.

When I am just making dinner for me I automatically think to make pancakes because a certain somebody isn’t really a fan of eating a plate sized chocolate chip cookie topped with syrup for dinner so I have to take advantage of it when I can.    I have a feeling that $5 jar of almond butter is not going to last much longer.

DSC 4297

Since I had something sweet for dinner I had to have something salty after dinner… enter in wheat thins.  It’s just the way my body functions.

Thank you to all of you sending in your worst running outfits….. you have kept me very entertained over the last 24 hours.   I’ll probably share a few each day:)

One from Megan that made me hurt just thinking of running in it….

“I’m the one on the right. It was a Luau themed fun run. The grass skirt stuck to my legs and in between them, and the coconut top had to be tied tight to stay on so it hurt to breathe!! The leis were itchy once i was sweaty!! However, it was FUN!!!!”

Image

“Here is my worst running outfit I’ve ever worn.  My sister made these tutu’s for us to wear for a 10-mile race back in December.  The tulle puffed out A LOT during the run.  And to explain my Snoopy shirt – I had forgotten to pack a shirt to wear to run in so I had to wear my cotton Snoopy pajama shirt that I slept in the night before (yes I am 28 years old).”

What a cute nursery. I’m already naming nursery #2 and we def aren’t pregnant! Random about me- I haven’t normal normal going out clothes in prob 3 weeks. Bad?

Reply

I’m not good at decorating but luckily, I have friends and family who are, and of course, Pinterest!

Last sweet thing- watermelon!!! Way more than I want to admit!

Reply

Random about me: Beets are my favorite vegetable, but I wouldn’t eat them growing up. (It’s probably because now I love them fresh and roasted and growing up they were served straight from the can!)

I LOVE decorating… I’m not sure if I’m “good” at it or not, but I have had so much fun decorating our house over the past year and a half since we moved in. There’s still a long way to go!

Other random fact? I don’t like costumed/themed runs! I guess I’m no fun… I usually run a Jingle Bell Run in December and a St. Paddy’s themed run each March, since they are super popular around here.

My last sweet was a piece of Lindt hint of salt dark chocolate a few days ago, but I’m about to dig into an English muffin with Justin’s chocolate hazelnut butter for bfast! Pumped.

Reply

Well I just had a super sweet pear, if that counts? :P But other than that, I guess the mint chocolate bar from yesterday. And how cute is Brooke’s nursery?! I love the sunshine theme :D I also love breakfast for dinner, and have a hard time understanding how someone could -not- want to eat a huge chocolate chip pancake for it. I’m not sure what I’d do if I was with someone like that… it might just be a deal-breaker.

Love those nose-wrinkle smiles too :) .

Brooke’s room is SO cute! You’d never know you’ve never decorated a room before, it looks so professional! These running outfits are hilarious. the last sweet thing i ate was this morning when i had a bite of my boyfriend’s apple fritter. so good :)

Ugh! I’m so awful at decorating! Brooke’s nursery is too cute! I’m due with #2 in October. Putting off decorating cuz I have NO idea where to begin! I had leftover birthday cake and coffee for breakfast today. Does that make it coffee cake??? Hmmmmmmm… I, like Emma, have not dressed up in anything but workout attire in about a month. It’s all good :) Happy Wednesday!!

Brooke’s room is adorable! I am not good at decorating either!

Two weeks ago, I ran an 80s themed 5k and it was pretty awesome. A group of us ran together in matching Zack Attack (from saved by the bell) shirts. We looked pretty amazing.

I’m ok at decorating, but terrible at crafts!

Reply

I don’t consider myself a good decorator, so our house is very minimalist. My mom always asks, when are you going to decorate, and we say mom this is the way we decorate.

Reply

Random fact about me- I don’t like numbers that end in 5 or 0, if I am setting an alarm of the volume on the TV I make the number end in a 2 or a 7. But when I am running I like to end on EITHER an exact time (i.e. 45:00 minutes) or mile (5.00).

I think I’m pretty good at crafts + decorating!

Last Thanksgiving I ran a 5-mile Turkey Trot dressed as a pilgrim.

Reply

the last swee thing i ate was about 10 minutes ago… cinnamon sugar toast with butter! mmmmm
those race outfits are hilarious!

Love Brooke’s room! My parents never did any cute decorating like that for me!!! I’ve done a few Christmas races but I’ve never done any other kinds. The color run is next on my list! Pancakes for dinner is something I never do but I wish I did it more often! I never got into chocolate chip though. I like them plain.

Reply

I need to take a picture of my 5 year old’s idea of a running outfit. She did a kid’s running series and trust me I had to redo quite a few of her running outfit ideas. Sorry, I am all for free expression but knowing that some of those kids were a little serious about this series, I just could not let her go out and get picked on!!!

Reply

The nursery pics are great! I love that you have lots of family pictures in the room. Brooke will LOVE looking at those as she gets older.

I LOVE having breakfast for dinner, but my husband isn’t such a big fan. I think I could eat a giant chocolate chip pancake every single night and be a happy girl!

I am NOT a crafty or creative person at ALL, but I did crochet baby blankets for both of my girls, and right now I’m struggling to finish my youngest’s first year scrapbook. Now that my oldest is almost 4, she LOVES to look through her scrapbook. It cracks me up when she says things like, ‘Awwww, look at how cute I was.’

Reply

Brook’s room is too cute! You did such a great job!

The nursery is adorable! What a pretty color combination!

Random fact: today is the last day of school with my grade 4 class! In related facts, the last sweet thing I ate was a couple of Timbits that I snuck from the huge supply I bought as a last day treat for my kiddos. :)

Reply

(1) i am a spinning instructor. taught this morning at 6 and now im promptly stuffing my face with….

(2) a smoothie and my banana bread. my sister made it. seriosuly the best i have ever tasted so far and ive tasted a lot haha its from cook’s illustrated….http://www.athoughtforfood.net/the-ultimate-banana-bread-and-a-giveaway/ try it out… she got a bag of over ripe banans from the farmer market for 2$….cant get better than that!

(3) i am the opposite of crafty. like so bad.

Reply

Crafty- Yes, for the most part I am. I making things that help our girl learn or enjoy life, or make my life (or my hub’s) simpler and less expensive. Sometimes it means tweaking an existing product and that’s just fine with me.

Right now I’m working on a mystery object box done on the very cheap and the not-so cheap (as in free and actually costs money).

Sweets- Burger King 50 cent ice cream on Monday. I love BK’s random specials!

Reply

I’m terrible at decorating and crafts. My mom is great at crafts but apparently being crafty skips a generation

Reply

I love crafts! But I never knew it until recently so I’ve been making up for lost time! Brooke’s room looks great :-) the last sweet thing I ate we’re chocolate chip cookies last night (more like dough because I cooked them for half the time!)

Reply

Love the nursery – too cute! You guys have done a great job on it! I’m not a huge decorator or crafter, but I can usually copy something pretty well. ;)

Reply

My husband and I went to see Wicked last night. We went out for dinner beforehand which is where the something sweet comes in. We had a toasted pound cake for dessert that came with vanilla bean ice cream, caramelized bananas, and a pool of hot fudge. It was to die for!

Reply

How adorable is her nursery?! Good job!! I am horrible at crafts/decorating. A good friend decorated my entire house. She chose paint colors, granite, etc. True story….the builder thought she was my husbands wife for several months due to her arguing with both of them (builder and my husband) and being so demanding. Ha!!!!

Reply

I’ve done a few Santa races but thats it. Maybe one day I will run a themed race and wear a crazy costume! Brooke’s nursery is adorable. I try to decorate then get stumped adn end up with a semi put together room. oops.

Reply

I woke up at midnight for a pb&j sandwich, guess baby was hungry!
I love looking at decor and crafts but actually never am too good at either. I love Brooke’s room and I need a mobile like that! Already looking on that Etsy store.
I have only ran a Disney race so kinda themed but we did not dress up.
A strawberries and dark chocolate – at the same time :)

Reply

I LOVE PANCAKES FOR DINNER, TOO!!! Adam doesn’t really like breakfast food for dinner unless it includes a lot of eggs and bacon.

Random: I like to eat M&M’s in pairs of the same colors. By “like”, I mean I pretty much have to. Sometimes I eat them in a specific color order too, but only on my most neurotic days. (Blue, Green, Yellow, Red, Orange, Brown- in case you were wondering.)

I’m ok at decorating. I’m better at crafts. I used to scrap book a lot. Now I mostly try to decorate our apartment, but I’m not naturally gifted in that area. Pinterest helps A LOT! (PS- her nursery looks super cute already! Target is definitely an amazing place to get cute things!)

What themed races have you ran before? NONE :( I don’t think my worst running outfit will compare to these! I’ll send it anyway though.

What was the last sweet thing that you ate? Godiva 72% Dark Chocolate with Almonds. I have a square or 2 every night with a glass of wine :) (or 2..)

Reply

Brooke’s room is so cute! I like to pretend I’m crafty but I struggle with the whole creativity thing. (Weird, cuz I have a blog and everything…)

Running in a coconut bra must hurt like crazy! Especially if you have to tie it tightly around you. I honestly don’t know if I could ever go crazy on the outfit front for a race–isn’t running hard enough, let alone doing it with things flying around on you everywhere?

Reply

I have a baby girl due in two weeks and have been decorating her nursery! I love it. I do like to get creative and everything, but this is the first room I have put together with my own things in mind and not furniture given to me from everyone I know! Brooke’s nursery is looking adorable! I think I want to make a flag banner to hang over the window like a curtain. I’m going to buy the stuff now and maybe make it over my maternity leave… maybe… We will see how much I actually stay awake during free time those few weeks ;)

Please tell me something random about yourself. It makes me happy.
Something random would be that I am loving peanut butter and apple right now so much! I am not good at crafts, I let my friends make those for me! The last sweet thing I ate would be nutella, I am lame I know!

Reply

I have zero craft skills which is scary because my mother was a baker who decorated cakes, my father was a sculptor and grandfather was a florist, and my daughter is a graphic designer.

Random fact-I was a competitive cyclist for many, many years

Reply

Please tell me something random about yourself. It makes me happy.- I really really really don’t like crumpets… some might say I’m scared of them :S

Are you good at decorating? Crafts?- Nope. Wish I was but I have no imagination for it.

What was the last sweet thing that you ate?- Coco Shreddies & strawberries for my breakfast :)

Reply

i’m good at decorating, decent at crafts.

Something random about me: I hate pancakes, but I like waffles. I understand they are from the same batter, but the texture is what gets me. I can’t handle the fluffiness of a pancake.

I ran the princess half in February and am running a turtle themed race in Sept. I’m also running a Villain Race in October. I like themed races :D

Reply

Brooke’s nursery looks so great, I love the “you are my sunshine” theme to it and the banner looks great! And you can make chocolate chip pancakes? Yum!

Something random: I have to go to the dentist today. I hate dentists. :p

Reply

Brooke’s nursery is so sweet! Something random about myself….I’ve been to 22 countries. I am not arts and craftsy at all! The last sweet thing I ate was vanilla ice cream for desert, I also had salty crackers…it was a wise life choice.

BTW – this is the last day to enter my giveaway if you want a RoadID.

Reply

I love doing crafts, decorating, and painting! I love all art. We are moving in 2 weeks and I can not wait to decorate!
I haven’t done a themed race yet but my bf and I are doing a Halloween half this year. I’m trying to convince him to dress and Wayne and Garth from Wayne’s World but he’s a little unsure of running in a wig.

Reply

That is a gorgeous room. Well done!

The last sweet thing I ate was a chocolate caramel shortbread yesterday. And I am going to follow that up with a huuuuge cupcake today. I CANNOT wait!!

What is the sweet thing you’re planning to eat tomorrow? ;)

Reply

Girl I am right there with you on the decorating! i don’t know what the heck I am doing but I have to say the nursery looks great!!

The last sweet thing I ate was some candy on Monday night. My husband and I have a slight obsession with candy :)

Reply

I am going to go all pinterest on our house and when we have kids that baby’s room is going to be straight out of a pinterest catalog. BAM :)

Reply

I really like DIY projects. I started doing them because I had moved to a new area and I was bored, but turns out they’re really fun. Brooke’s room looks great!

I’ve never done a themed race. Actually, I’ve only ever run in one 5K so far. That was a Race for the Cure and quite a few people were dressed up, but my team wasn’t.

Random fact about me – I love french fries more than any food in the world. I’ve been known to order them as a side dish to pasta, pizza, Greek food, you name it. It’s kind of a problem.

Reply

what an adorable nursery. no baby here yet, but i’ve really been enjoying decorating our new house.

Reply

I eat dessert everyday. I just can’t help it. Last night was a pint of ice cream-half strawberry and half cookies and cream!

Brooke’s nursery looks so cute, very well done! I like decorating but I’m not convinced I’m very good at it.

Reply

Brooke’s room looks adorable! I am the worst craft maker and decorator, I wish I had that knack!
Something random, hmm. I live in the middle of nowhere on a gravel road. The closest town has about 600 people I think.

Reply

Random: It’s my birthday!!! 33!! Where in the world does time go. No, I am not a decorator but you totally are! Her room is so cute: add interior designer to your resume!
I once tried to make wreaths with ribbon and mesh. I sold a couple but I really did not like doing it (I think I am not patient enough)….so I stopped :)!
I LOVE pancakes and wheat thins!!! When I am going for salt it is a toss up between goldfish crackers and wheat thins!
Those outfits are crazy…I can’t imagine racing in them :).
I did a leprechan chase race but I only went so far as to wear my green Nike shirt.

Reply

I had chocolate cake that I made for my brother and sister-in-law’s reveal party. They are having a girl. I cannot wait to spoil her.

Mmmm my favorite brand of almond butter :) Right now I am eating almond butter mixed with a little honey, mixed with walnuts, perfect sweet treat for before my workout :D

Reply

Love the room! Have you ever tried wheat thins with some cream cheese?? So good!

Reply

I love the colors of Brooke’s nursery. It’s pretty much the colors I would pick for my wedding. Is that weird? I hope not.

The last sweet thing I ate were my waffles last night because we had a topping bar full of all kinds of things! YUM. My favorite was the bite with greek yogurt, syrup, chocolate chips, and coconut shreds!

Reply

I love how you decorated Brooke’s room! Its so cute!

Last sweet thing I ate was a dark chocolate Kit Kat. Yum! (@ 4:15 this am before my run)
I love crafting!! I’ve been a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator for nine years and I love making cards just about as much as I love running. Not as much but……it’s close. ;)

Reply

I am terrible at crafting/decorating. I think you’re doing awesome! Her room is so cute! I might have to hire you out when I have a child..in a million years :)
Man those outfits are so funny! I definitely don’t have anything to compare to that! haha
Random: My mom and her dad both have my same birthday and for my 16th, her 40th and his 65th, we had a combined luau. At the time, my mom and sister and I were in a hula group (random fact 2: I did hula for 3 years), so we had real dancers and real hawaiian food!

Reply

I’m pretty good at decorating and really good at crafts when I want to be. For the most part though, they don’t interest me any more.

I’m running in the Hokie Half-Marathon this September and I’m sure most people will be wearing maroon and orange! Can’t wait!

In 1994, I learned that in California, picture frames should not be above the bed. When the earthquake hit the frame fell/flew and hit me in the head. I realize that your frames are somewhat to the outside of the crib but it might be something to think about;)

Reply

I learned that too so we pull her bed away from the wall every time we put her in the crib:)

Reply

Her room is looking so great, Janae! You did an amazing job! :)

I ran in the Hot Undies Run where we run around in our underwear during the middle of the day in Summer … in Texas. Last year, the girls and I dressed up as Maiden USA. It was crazy fun.

Last sweet thing was last nights Coldstone Creamery outing for my SIL’s birthday. So good :)

I love decorating, however never seem to be able to get over my fear of not liking something long term in my own house to actually decorate my own home. Must get over this!

Reply

CUTE nursery! I love the ideas–we’re going to do orange & pink for baby girl, and I am excited about it!

I don’t like even numbers. I even have to have the volume on the TV as an odd number!

The last sweet thing I ate was an M&M’s McFlurry.

Reply

I am really afraid of geese. Like, really, really afraid.

I’m a terrible decorator and almost every wall in my house is bare and my hubby and I have been living there for over a year. I’m not very crafty, either.

Not a big fan of themed races, but I’ll be doing the Electric Run next month which sort of counts. I ran the ODDyssey Half Marathon a couple weeks ago which was a “costume race” (no specific theme but there were costume contests) but I didn’t dress up, lol. I know, party pooper!

Last sweet thing I ate was last night when I had Ben & Jerry’s frozen greek yogurt – the Blueberry Graham Cracker kind… mmm :)

Reply

I wouldn’t say that I’m good at crafts. But, I was in a sorority in college which generally results in becoming somewhat proficient.

My most recent sweet thing: Biscoff cookie butter. Another life-changing food moment courtesy of the Target grocery section. (http://www.merrymarathoner.com/2013/06/stressed-out-need-desserts-watermelon.html)

Reply

That looks great! I love the “you are my sunshine” canvas art– my mom used to (and still does sometimes, even at 25) say/ sing that to me! :) The last sweet thing I had was frozen yogurt thanks to my sweet husband letting me cave in to that craving– he surprised me with it last weekend.

So that snoopy picture? Probably the most hilarious thing I’ve ever seen! I choked on my toast because I was laughing so hard! (no judgement here though- if I had to run in any of my pajama shirts, I’d be very, very ashamed!)

Something random about me? I taught myself how to play the guitar. I’m just a rhythm player…”chords” are my thing.

I like to paint…https://plus.google.com/photos/109270240271427503555/albums/5893859624003228193?banner=pwa

Only themed race I have done is a Ghost and Goblins in which I was a bumblebee.

I had a sour twizzler thing…I guess that counts as sweet.

Random….. Blouse has always struck me as a fancy word. I feel silly when I use it so I’m probably not fancy enough to have it in my workable vocabulary.
I had some righteous cantaloupe at lunch. Summer just started and I am already dreading the day that cantaloupe goes out of season.
I only have mediocre skills when it comes to decorating. I think you’ve done a superb job on little Brooke’s room. If there was a “Gold Star” button on here I would push it.

The last sweet thing I ate was chocolate covered raisins. They are my new addiction.

Reply

Love Brooke’s nursery decor and I love that song! Perfect for a baby’s room. You are quite the decorator. :) I’m also glad to hear that there’s another person out there who has to balance sweet and salty. I often feel the need to have a piece or two of candy after a savory dinner.

Random fact: My daughter Caden turns 1 on Friday and the size of her chubby thighs makes me smile every day. I just posted a photo on my IG account: cortneyweber. Btw, i had caden’s bangs cut!! so nice to see her face again. Love the racing outfits!! I never dress up for races, but always think it looks like a lot of fun. Trying to convince my running group to do themed runs on Saturdays. I was thinking colorful socks, best headband…you get the idea.

Random fact: I was up twice last night taking care of my son’s guinea pig. It has pneumonia and we didn’t think he would make it though the night. He’s much more perky today, so I think we out of the woods and he will survive. Did I mention that I cried like a baby at the thought of losing a cute, fluffy guinea pig?
I suck at decorating. I use magazine pictures as my guide for trying to decorate my house.
The last sweet thing I ate was a small piece of chocolate that my husband brought back from the Netherlands. YUM!

Something random.. I eat chocolate every single day of my life. I’m an addict and I’m totally okay with that.

I stink at decorating and crafts, thankfully my mom is good at it and doesn’t mind helping. I bribe her with baby snuggles.

No themed races.. unless a mud run is a theme? I did do a St. Patrick’s Day race though.

The last sweet thing I ate was a banana chocolate chip vita top — those things are like crack.
