Back in time, cross your fingers for us and San Clemente.

This would be San Clemente.  Better known as somewhere you really do have to go to at least once in your life.

Swings ON the beach.  Now that is pretty much the smartest thing ever.  I made an Instagram Video of our beach adventure if you want to check it out (HUNGRYRUNNERGIRL).

We got there a few minutes early and walked around the pier and asked strangers to take our pictures.

And then the PARTY arrived.  Stuft Mama is so incredibly sweet, hilarious and I could talk to her for hours and hours.  Her boys are the coolest. I have a feeling I will be making quite a few trips down south this summer.

And they brought me their buffalo jerky!! Day made.

We didn’t get back to my in-laws city until almost 8 so that meant I had to just stop for one more fame broiler (my MIL was gone at a church thing for most of the day/night).  This is my latest obsession if you haven’t noticed.  All of those sauces were used in the production of the best rice, veggie and chicken bowl.

And then I had ice cream.  While watching Everybody Loves Raymond.  My kind of Friday night.

We are driving back home today! Cross your fingers that LA magically has no traffic and that I packed enough swedish fish to keep me energized throughout the road trip.

Who has been to San Clemente before?!?!

I have a friend who used to live in San Clemente! I visited her there once when I lived in LA. My run this weekend is going to be 15 miles if the lightning and thunder ever stop.

I haven’t been to a beach yet this year! Something that needs to be changed soon. And bring on the hot sauce – I seriously adore the stuff.

San Clemente looks absolutely beautiful! I recently got home from a week on a small island off of Long Island, New York and it was fabulous! I love the sound of the waves crashing and all of the boardwalks :)
I am not a big fan of hot sauce!
As far as racing goes, I will be doing my very first triathlon Sunday morning :) Cross that off the bucket list!!

I work at a beach so I guess the one in my town. It isn’t that pretty though. All of your pictures and blogger meetups make me want to take a trip there so badly! I’m not a fan of hot foods so I’d skip it, personally.

Last beach I was at was Playa Maroma in Playa Del Carmen, it’s my favorite beach but I also love Cinnamon Bay Beach in St. John USVI. Going for a slow 5 mile run this morning. Loved the video of Brookers on the swing on Instagram, she is such a precious little baby! Be safe on your drive, I will say a little prayer right after I type this!

I love the beach. Laguna was my last visit. I miss it. I think you need a road trip to southern Utah! Just saying!

heading out to do my long run NOW! 14 miles. phew.

I hope no traffic, enough Swedish fish, AND some good radio. I find that very important for a road trip.

Not running today, did 11 yesterday.

Ymmmmmm mint chocolate chip. I tried the s’mores blizzard yesterday.

Way to go girl! How was the blizzard?!?

I guess everything can taste more delicious after a long run, but I would say put it on the must do list for your next week. I’ll be looking for your blog review:)

I love SC. I haven’t been there for years, but my family used to go visit my aunt every summer in my childhood days. She had this great apartment on a hill by the beach. I remember always sleeping with the windows open and falling asleep to the sound of the ocean.

The last beach I went to was Port Aransas, Texas last week for a family reunion/ 30th anniversary celebration for my in-laws. But before that was a week in the Dominican Republic for our honeymoon 2 months ago. And it is by far the prettiest beach I have ever been to, I miss it!

My husband and I ran an easy 4 miles this morning. He’s used to running on the treadmill and I have new shoes, so we decided to cut the mileage and have an easier day :)

Live san Clemente, I have a friend who lives about 1/2 hr from there, I should visit soon! Last beach we went to was just this past Monday- Natural Bridges brag in Santa Cruz.

I did my long run on Friday (10 miles) because we left Friday for Sacramento (visiting family) and its way too hot here today!!

Hot sauce is a definite must!!

Good luck on your drive home, hope it’s smooth and stress free for you.

Swings on the beach – pure genius! We went to Oahu in January & enjoyed many awesome beaches. No run today. Swam laps this a.m. & then played in pool with girls for rest of morning. Now trying to motivate myself to do some housework while they nap.

Reply

Those pictures are beautiful. The last beach I went to was in Puerto Rico, but unfortunately it rained the whole time we were there. I’m a Louisiana girl, but I actually don’t like hot sauce! I’m ashamed to say it!

Ok I’m so mad you didn’t ask for food suggestions in San Clemente. Next time you go you HAVE TO TRY the Riders club (http://www.ridersclubcafe.com/food/the-burger). I’m a vegetarian and that place is the only restaurant that makes me want to throw my morals out the window.

Looks like you guys had an awesome mini vacation! I’m pretty jealous :)

Reply

What a super fun day, wish I had blog running buddies close to me! My race was 12km today – first race since having my baby 4 months ago, so easing back into it :)

Reply

Never been to San Clemente and I doubt I will ever get there.

Last beach I went to was in Anglsea (Vic, Australia), and that was 6 months ago in our summer

Hot Sauce has it’s place, so sometimes.

I had a 5km club race, and got a good time, considering the last 1km was uphill. Planning my long run tomorrow. Going for time not distance.

I have lived in San Clemente my whole life!! best place in the world!!! :)

I always think of Richard Nixon when I think of San Clemente. I’m pretty old.

We went to Stinson yesterday! It was glorious! No blogger meet up though. Maybe next time :)

Reply

Wow. What a beautiful view! And now that you mention it, why don’t all beaches have swings? Even better, swings over the water so that you can jump off directly into the water. Rust might be an issue, but I am sure there is a work-around for that.

Reply

I was just in San Diego at Mission Beach-amazing! I really don’t know why I don’t move to a beach. Movie and ice cream is my favorite Friday night! Now I want some ice cream!

Reply

I live about 5 miles from the ocean, but it’s in Connecticut and I’m not sure Long Island Sound really counts for the beach, but I was there yesterday :).

Reply

My good friend got married in a park overlooking the ocean in San Clemente! It was so gorgeous! Such a gorgeous place! Love Brooke’s swimsuit! :)
