My MIL is a preschool teacher. She is actually the best preschool teacher in the world (and I’m not just saying that to earn brownie ((donut)) points with her). She is having preschool graduation on Thursday and so we HAD to go to the donut shop to get the donuts for the graduation ordered. PS That little girl isn’t Brooke…that is a friend’s little girl.
You can’t possibly just go preorder donuts without bringing a box home with you. That would be wrong on so many levels.
I think the reason that the apple fritter is my favorite donut is because it is the size of three donuts.
My in-laws had plans last night and there was a blogger party not too far away so I got to go hang out with my S. Cali running bf’s and eat salad and have deep and intellectual discussions about running and frosting.
I met up with Pam for a little bit before dinner and we just hung out outside and enjoyed the sun.
And then the rest of the crew came. Pam, Brooker face (that is what my brother-in-law calls her), me, Kristina, Heather, Skinny Runner, Margot and Sheila.
We went to a place called Tender Greens and when I saw the category ‘BIG SALADS’ on the menu I knew I was going to be happy about what I was about to devour.
The cob salad with bacon, grilled chicken, bleu cheese, avocado and hardboiled eggs. It was definitely big but I think they need to experience one of my mixing bowl family sized salads so they can really know what big is.
Skinny Runner. Bless her heart, she brought us all cake. We were having a welcome back Margot party and you have to agree…flowers made out of icing is pretty awesome.
We were super classy and ate it on a pizza box.
Once again I have made a lot of good decisions in what I eat the night before a hard run. Donuts and cake.

Since it is Wednesday I think that you should answer one or all three of these random questions:
1. What is one of your running goals?
2. Frosting or cake? You have to choose which one is better.
3. What brand and model of running shoes did you wear (or are you going to wear) on your run today?

1. Running goal #1 this year is to run a marathon, or maybe #1 is to stop getting injured and #2 is marathon. That sounds better.
2. cake!
3. Mizuno Wave Inspire 9
Sarah @pickyrunner
Donuts and cake are the perfect pre-run fuel if you ask me. All that sugar keeps you going for long periods of time, right?
Missy @Miles with Missy
Oh how I would love to join a So Cal blogger meet up :) Hard to do from MN though :)
I would like to set a new half marathon and 5k PR’s this year. First, I need to heal from plantar fasciitis :( I am going to try a run tomorrow and I have worn Saucony Hurricanes for years! However I am really interested in trying the Brooks Pure Cadence shoe :)
Frosting all the way!!!
Emily @ Running for Boston
-I want to qualify for Boston but I think since making that a goal of mine, another goal has come into the forefront. I want to become a smarter runner – one who’s injured less and trains better both on the trails and off.
-At 27 years old, there’s only a few things better than frosting in the shape of massive flowers.
-I’m loyal to Vibram Five Fingers. I love them and have worn them for over a year now.
Rebecca
1) Running goal is definitely to run my first marathon.
2) Frosting, not sure really why cake was even invented.
3) Brooks Green Silence-I stocked up when I found out they were being discontinued but my supply is about diminished which makes me very sad. I bought a pair of Pure Flow 2’s to transition to but they are too cushiony for me.
Stacy
1. Run my first half marathon
2. ICING!
3. Saucony Ride
Hilary @ PeanutButterSpoonfuls
I love this!! Margot is pretty much the sweetest person alive. High school cross country friends forever :)
Frosting 10000% and Mizuno Nirvanas.
Kari @ Running Ricig
1. Right now my running goal is to get my ITB healthy so I can train for a fall marathon.
2. Definitely frosting. Cake is just a delivery system for frosting.
3. Brooks Adrenaline GTS 12
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I’ve actually given the frosting vs. cake debate some serious thought, and I’ve come to the conclusion that I prefer the cake. Don’t get me wrong, frosting is delicious, but lately I’ve been all about anything and everything carby and doughy, so cake has my heart… for now.
Heather @ Run Like a G!
1. My number one running goal (currently) is running a 5K in 30 minutes or less!
2. I prefer cake over frosting! And it should be chocolate!
3. I wear Nikes but I am hoping to buy a pair of Brooks soon! All the runners rave about them, so I need to check them out :)
Adriana @Laced Up With Lipstick
Running pikes peak marathon. Frosting for sure but only if its buttercream. I’m going to wear my Ascis Nimbus today.
Ashley @ OurPersonalRecords
Frosting or cake? It’s like saying doughnut or glaze. You really shouldn’t have one without the other. BUT if I had to choose I would say cake… I guess. Sometimes frosting is just a little too sweet to eat more than 3 spoonfuls by itself. Not that I know or anything.
Tracie Jackson
1. Running goal: to run injury free this year and finish strong and with no pain :)
2. Icing!! I am the girl who goes for those pink flowers!
3. Mizuno Wave Inspire
Elizabeth @ My Neon Running Shoes
Frosting all the way!!! Looks like a great night!
Kim @ Hungry Healthy Girl
The cake is the best in my opinion, but it makes it so much better to have a little frosting on it….not too much, though. I’m wearing the Ghost 5’s, but I just saw that the Ghost 6’s are out and I’m so wanting to upgrade….they look super cool!
Julia B.
Running Goal: PR in the 10 mile this year!
CAKE is better— frosting gets wayyyy too sugary for my taste.
I am going to wear the Brooks Ravenna 3’s on my run today.
Anissa angelosante
1. Run my 5th or 6th half marathon in December. I can’t remember what number I am on haha!
2. Frosting for sure. I tried something different once and added frosting to the cake batter then baked it. I think it made the cake more moist plus more frosting on top.
3. I crossed trained today but I still wore my Asics 1000 hot pink shoes.
Maribeth @ LOVEmyHANDLES
My running goals are to PR my Half-Marathon in September and run my first marathon in November!
My running shoes are Brooks Defyance 4s!
Ying
Running goal this year: sub 5 in Baltimore marathon this fall.
Cake
I’m waring Brooks Glycerin. But going to try Misuno Wave Rider next.
emma @ a mom runs this town
More of a cookie than cake person
My newton gravitys of course!!
Katie @ Peace Love & Oats
omg FROSTING all the way!!!!
Sheila
So much fun! And frosting off of any surface is always considered classy :)
[email protected] The Pace of it All
Love flowers made of frosting! And yeah that salad could’ve been bigger for sure! Neat that you all were able to get together!
Running goal: to be able to run my first half marathon one day. I think I can, I think I can…
Frosting for sure. And I’m rocking Brooks Adrebalines (I think?) on my runs. :)
mary @ minutes per mile
cake, definitely! Brooks PureConnects. Best shoes ever. I loooove apple fritters, by far the best, but coconut/cake donuts are a close second.
Ashley @ Eat Run Live Happy
Running goal: To keep up with my speed work and get a 1:45 half marathon in Sept. (also working on my first full in October!)
Icing!!! I love as much sugar as possible when it comes to dessert.
Right now I love my mizuno wave inspire 9’s.
Melissa
Running goal: keeping a 30 mile average per week all summer long
Cake or Frosting? – Frosting!! It’s the only reason I want to eat cake:)
Shoes: Mizuno Wave Inspire 9
Lynz
1. Run a half marathon and eventually a sub 25 minute 5k
2. Cake. I think most frosting is nasty
3. I’m wear Brooks Adrenaline when I run because I overpronate way too much.
Kimberly @ Keeping up With Kimberly
I’m not a big frosting fan. I scrape it off and eat the cake!
I’ve been running in Brooks for 4 years now – currently rocking the Ghost 5.
Jamie @ Sometimes Healthy Living Blog
The sugar will help fuel your run!
I don’t have a running goal right now…I’ve just been running to run :-)
I’ve got to go with frosting…we one went to a cupcake place that had frosting shots. I was in heaven.
I recently bought Asics and have been very happy with them!
Erica
I do have marathon on my mind, but you know my other goals…. Don’t know if those are in conflict??
frosting!!!
Asics nimbus (a b-day present from my mom)
Karen @ Runner Girl Eats
1. My current running goal is to nurse my shin back to health so I can get back out there. Then I want to up my weekly mileage to build a strong base and rock my half.
2. I could eat a tub of frosting and never ever miss the cake.
3. I always run in my Nike lunarflys.
Bri
What an awesome post full of sugar & sugar & awesome bloggers!
Julie @ RDelicious Kitchen
1. running goal: get back into running! I’ve put it on the back burner when I started teaching more spin classes.. slowly but surely my pace and distance is coming back.
2. icing and cake have to be a perfect ratio in order for me to eat cake
2. brooks pure flow 2 .. just got them and LOVE them
Cyn
Do-NUT!
Love them! Especially Krispy Kreme chocolate type of course…Not much a “cake” person…
LOVE frosting
Asics
I SO want to do another 1/2, but my teaching (group exercise) schedule leaves me little time to train for any, so I relegate myself to as many 10k’s as I can do. I don’t have to train for them, and I can just have fun…:)
Avery
Haha, I’m a mixing bowl salad eater myself! I love a good “everything but the kitchen sink” one, full of whatever random foods I have on hand. (raspberries, hummus, feta, pine nuts, corn, etc.) Oh, and EVERYONE I’m friends with knows that the frosting flower is always the piece that I want! It’s the best for sure :)
Lindsey
Right now, to keep running but in 2014 I want to run another marathon, about a year after I have our daughter – hoping its not too ambitious!
Cake for sure, I am usually not a frosting fan.
Asics Niumbus are my runner of choice right now.
Rianne
1) 1/2 marathon (after two knee surgeries) and start trail running
2) cake
3) Nike Pegasus
Nicole @ Work in Sweats Mama
Running goals for this year: sub-20 minute 5K and sub-3:30 marathon. I’m wearing Asics Cumulus for my runs right now but will probably pick up a pair of the Brooks Ghost to start rotating. Hmmm, cake or frosting? The frosting is, well, the icing on the cake, but I think I’ll go with cake. Now I’m craving a cupcake. Go figure!
Stephanie
Came. Always cake. Well forget the cake, just give me ice cream or cookie dough
Today I’ll run in my mizunos ronins and do some tempo miles (on the treadmill because running at 3pm in the 96 degree sun isn’t good for tempo runs :/
Amy @ Long Drive Journey
Oh man, I just got to work with no breakfast and those donuts look amazing.
1. Running goal – “long” (for me) 4 mile run this Saturday
2. Cake. I usually eat cake to frosting in a 3:1 ratio.
3. Saucony…something. But I want to try some of the Brooks shoes.
Kattrina
Yum, donuts and cake. Best fuel source ever.
My running goal this year is to just get back into running. Regularly. And to train for a few races.
It really depends on the cake and frosting – if it’s a yummy moist cake that was homemade and not from the grocery store – I’d vote cake. However, sometimes cake can be dry and flavorless and then I go for the frosting – but if the cake is bad, normally the frosting is too. So, I guess I’d go for cake.
Today I will be running in my older than dirt Asics. They are almost two years old and I really need a new pair but I keep spending my money on other things. Soon it will happen.
Monica L
1. To run faster
2. FROSTING!
3. Saucony
Have a good day!
Jessica
1. My running goal is to be able to beat my best 5K time of 32 minutes, I would ultimately like to get it done in under 30minutes.
2. Hmm… Cake or Frosting… that is a tough one. I would say cake.
3. I wear Brooks Running Shoes, found that they work the best for me :) I did wear them today. I need to go out and get a new pair.
Anna
1. My New Years Resolution this year is to run a race of some kind every month. Mostly 5k, but I’ve done a 10-miler and a 5-miler in there too. I’m thinking a half marathon on the fall needs to happen!
2. FROSTING. I could eat a whole cake’s worth. Who needs cake??
3. Mizuno Wave Inspire – love love love. My feet need all the support they can get!
Charlotte @ Commitness to Fitness
1. To do it 3 days a week. I know it sounds lame, but that’s my goal. 2. CAKE 3. Saucony!
Danielle @ Dani Cakes
And I quote Homer Simpson – “MMmmm. Donuts.”
1. I just want to run without pain in my leg again. Every time I think I’m good the pain comes back. Need to learn from you and learn to like the pool.
2. I seriously can’t decide. You can’t have one without the other. I make some pretty darn good frosting though.
3. Can’t get away from the Asics GT2170’s!
Laura
FROSTING. My whole family gives them their extra frosting too.
I need new Asics.
Katie @ running4cupcakes
I can’t believe you are making us choose between frosting and cake. .. but I think I would go with really good moist chocolate cake. That’s why my husband and I go well together because he is team frosting.
Caitlin
Fix whatever’s going on with my hip/glutes/20:15 5K/3:45 Marathon
Cake! The only frosting I can tolerate is the funfetti.
Wore my Brooks Trance this morning.
Jessica R @ FromtheKitchentotheRoad
1. My current running goal is a sub-4 hour marathon. Long term goal is just to keep running. 2. I like cake more than frosting… I think. I wouldn’t really want to eat cake without frosting, though. 3. I ran in Brooks Ghost 5’s today. I’m going to need a new pair pretty soon and I’ve realized I need an 11.5 instead of the 11 I’m wearing in Brooks shoes. I kind of have giant feet.
Beth @ Mangoes and Miles
That apple fritter is HUGE! I’ve never actually had an apple fritter before, but I want to try one because they just look so. Good. I don’t typically get donuts just for kicks and giggles though, so it’ll have to wait for a very special occasion.
Kerry @ Half Healthy, Half Nuts
Between the donuts and the cake frosting, I am now uncontrollably salivating!
1 – Just got back into running after having a baby, so I signed myself up for a couple of races to get me excited – a 10 miler in October and half marathons in November and February. My goal is to actually build my stamina and mileage back up after taking a 9+ month break. So far, it’s HARD. Fun times!
2 – I like frosting, but I have to go with cake. I love cake without frosting.
3 – I am currently running on a pair of Asics with a hole in the toe. I NEED to go buy new shoes.
Noriko
This is getting a bit more stiejcubve, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of neighbors will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune Social is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

Half Marathon.. maybe a marathon..??
Frosting.. and lots of it!
Brooks – Glycerin 11 – My first pair of Brooks and I Love them!!
Lidia
Oh gosh that apple fritter is huge! I think I have to have one! Glad you’re having such a great time in S. Cal.
Jen
Goal: Do my next marathon under 3:20
I pick ice cream (that wasn’t a choice, but that is what I would pick :) ).
I am wearing Mizuno wave riders today for an 8 miler. After a insanely long (I am positive that I tried on every single pair of shoes there is!) search for a pair of shoes I love I came up with the mizuno and asics gel noosa tri8.
Happy Wednesday!
Fiona @ Get Fit Fiona
I’d definitely pick cake over frosting!
Rene
1. Sub 1:50 half
2. I can’t believe there is debate about this – frosting
3. Breaking in my new Newton’s and I’m so excited.
Chelsea @ LittleOneRuns
Reminds me of the Apple donuts they have in apple hill, they are the size of the little bag they are put in, pure heaven :)
2. Hmmm I use to be all about the frosting, but anymore, I’m all about the cake lol.
Gracie (Complicated Day)
1. What is one of your running goals?
Break 1:30 for the half-marathon
2. Frosting or cake? You have to choose which one is better.
Cake… in fact when I make cake I usually substitute something else for frosting, like caramel filling, lemon curd, fudge, ganache, or whipped cream. Yeah, my cakes are rich…
3. What brand and model of running shoes did you wear (or are you going to wear) on your run today?
I ran in Brooks Pure Cadence, probably my 3rd favorite shoe.
Ashley @ My Food N Fitness Diaries
One of my current running goals: Run 5 miles without stopping. (Taking a year off of running sure does make a difference!)
FROSTING is way better than the cake. Buttercream frosting to be exact. ;)
I am going to wear my Brooks Ghost4s on my run today. Love them!
Carolyn
1. A new PR in the half.
2. Pie. Cake – meh.
3. I’ll be wearing my Brooks Adrenalines today because I’ll be running on dirt. On pavement, I wear Brooks Ghost 5.
You and Skinny Runner are my favorite running blogs – I love seeing you two together on the same page!
Suzanne
1. The 15K trail run I signed up for, and hopefully a 1/2 marathon in November.
2. It needs to be a perfect icing to cake ratio. Unless it’s this chocolate icing I make. Then I can eat that straight from the mixing bowl.
3. Saucony Kinvara 4.
Natalie @ Free Range Human
That apple fritter peeking out does look delicious! I guess if I have to choose I’d have to say cake. Although I can’t imagine cake without frosting!
Robin
1. Run a 10K.
2. Cake, but I’m more of a froyo kinda girl.
3. Saucony Omni 11. Love them, but looking for another pair so I don’t wear them out too quickly.
Joy
1. Running goal is to get a new PR in a half marathon I’m running in September.
2. Frosting is definitely the best, but cake is a really close second (they’re meant to be together!)
3. I wore my Brooks Pureflows this morning during my speed workout.
Amanda
My main running goal right now is to heal my IT band injury so that I can run again
Kami
1. To run my first marathon this year!
2. Cake!
3. Asics GT-2000 – heading to Runon today for some new ones though!
[email protected]
1. To not get injured and take it easy this week.
2. Frosting but it has to be cream cheese or homemade, I know I’m a snob
3. Brook pure flows, they are awesome!
Mari
1. Qualify for Boston.
2. Cake — definitely cake.
3. Nike Vomeros.
Pam
such a fun time last night!! Brooke is the cutest & I could spend all day with her. :)
right now I’m rotating asics kayano’s & mizuno inspires (stability girl right here). hope you had a great run this a.m.!!! xo
nerri @LaPetiteRunner
1. not get injured again!
2. frosting
3. brooks adrenaline!
Rachel @ Undercover Diva: A Sitcom
One of my running goals is to get faster. I’ve incorporated more speed work and strength training into my routine, but since it’s FL and the humidity is terrible..I’m actually slowed down :( Let’s hope that things turn around once I get reacclimated to the humidity.
Cake.
Saucony ProGrids

1. What is one of your running goals?
Short term goal- drop my pace down to 7:30 on medium runs. I’m currently hovering around a sub-8. Longer runs I average around an 8:30 though. So getting faster!
Medium term- finish this upcoming half marathon in October at 1:45.
Long term- Marathons!
2. Frosting or cake? You have to choose which one is better.
Frosting. Sometimes I eat the leftover frosting straight from the can. It’s heaven.
3. What brand and model of running shoes did you wear (or are you going to wear) on your run today?
I just wrote a blog post about this! I’m currently wearing Mizuno Wave Creation 13’s, but I’m going to get new ones this week! Yay new shoes! I’m thinking Mizuno Wave Inspire 9’s, but I’m really liking the Nike Lunarglides that you can customize. No idea if they’re good for running, but they are so cool!
[email protected]
ICING!!!
I am a New Balance lover – I wear 860’s as I need stability in my shoes
lacy
Running goals, to be able to run pain free. Run a much quicker pace and do a tail run marathon next year.
Icing for sure, except from one particular bakery where I live then from them it is by far cake. They soak the cake in flavorings and it is beyond incredible.
Mizuno wave inspire 9 but think I need something different.
Lauren
I would choose frosting but I’m a snob and only like the homemade stuff. I think the frosting flowers taste like wax unless it’s from a bakery! I’m just picky!
I always run in Brookes <3

1. Run my second half marathon!
2. Frosting for sure! I just LOVE frosting!!
3. I’ve been in aasics pretty much exclusively for the past few years.
Leigha
1. Break 20 minute 5k!
2. Cake definitely. I only like certain frostings.
3. Mizuno Wave Rider 8- so cute!
Rebekah
1-) Run a half marathon
2-) CAKE!
3-) my brand new Brooks Adraneline GTS 13.

Sorry, but the only type of frosting that I like is chocolate flavor. I can’t eat any other type. I scrape it off.

My running goal after the baby is born is to get back into the same shape/speed I was in before the baby (once that happens new goal will be to get faster and increase mileage!)
I can’t believe you’re making us choose between Frosting and Cake…..can it depend? Totally frosting if its a buttercream….soooo my favorite. But if its the really sugary or whipped frosting then I’m all for the cake.
Not running right now in my pregnancy but the shoes in my rotation right now are Brooks Glycerin 10s

I want to run my first half marathon, and do so without walking
Vanilla cake :) No other flavor
Today is CT, but yesterday I wore my Nike Lunarglide 4’s.
Alyssa @ See This Girl Run
1. I’m running my first marathon in September and my goal is to not die.
2. Frosting all the way!!! The cake is merely a vessel. In fact, a prefer a spoon to get the frosting into my mouth.
3. I love my Asics.
Erin
1. I’m just getting back into running, so my first goal is to run the whole 20 minutes on Friday for week 5 day 3 of C25K. Secondly, I want to run my first 5K (July 28) and run the WHOLE thing. I’m not focused on time yet because I’m just starting out (again).
2. Duh, frosting.
3. I wore my Brooks Adrenaline shoes. I adore them so very, very much. I just switched after getting properly fitted from my Asics Gel Kayano 18s, which I still wear for Zumba and Boot Camp.
Theresa
Your blogger date looks so fun! What a great group :)
1.) I would like to train for my 2nd half marathon and beat my previous time. I haven’t been running as much since my knee injury and I’d like to get back into it now that I have recovered.
2.) Frosting, specifically Betty-Crocker Rainbow Chip (not funfetti, there is a difference) :)
3.) I wear Asics GT-1000 :)
Julie
1) Run my 1st half marathon – signed up for RNR San Jose this October!
2) Definitely cake (ideally with a very thin even layer of frosting)
3) Asics – only brand I’ve tried so far but loving them!
Julissa
1. A running goal of mine is to one day run a half marathon
2. This is hard!!! But I guess I will say frosting, as long as it’s the “best creme” kind that’s light, fluffy, and not too sweet. Super rich frostings are too much sometimes (I know, I’m probably letting you down haha)
3. Today was a strength/core day but on my next run I’ll wear New Balance 1260v2’s
Kristin @ A Mom on the Run
1. To finish my first marathon — training starts next month — ahhh!
2. Easy choice – cake. I’m not a frosting girl. Unless it’s peanut butter frosting, then it’s not such an easy choice.
3. Asics GT-2170 — so sad that they were discontinued. I’m going to have to get fitted for new shoes soon :(
Kami
Agree! I loved the GT-2100 series, have purchased tons over the years. I tried the GT-2000s (which they claimed were the same) and they have given me blisters on my toes that the 2100 series never gave me! Just got fitted for some Brooks today though, so I am excited to try those out :)

I choose the apple fritter whenever that option is available.
My running goal is to actually run again. We’re thinking September is when it might get to happen. Fingers crossed.
I’ll wear my Hokas if they haven’t disintegrated by then.
Bri @ ShapedforFitness
So bummed I missed last night’s meet-up at Tender Greens! I was teaching barre classes til 7:30 in Mission Viejo. Tender Greens is our new favorite place for dinner, love the backyard marinated steak and grilled veggies. A little pricey, but quality food.
Hope you have a wonderful trip in the OC! And best wishes to your hubby as a 2L! My husband will be a 2L as well at UC Irvine. :-)
MartinaNYC
My [final] running goals for 2013: run my second half marathon in Staten Island in October under 1:50 (doable) and run my first marathon (ING NYC Marathon!!!) in November in 3:59:59 (not THAT doable since NYC is pretty though and it’ll be my first one but my “3:59:59 team” and I will work as hard as possible to reach that goal!)
I’ll pick GOOD frosting over cake any time!
My current running shoes are the Asics Gel Kayano but I recently won a pair of Saucony Kinvara 4 at a raffle organized by my running team! I order them yesterday, can’t wait to try them on a run! PS: I picked the purple ones and I thought about you ;)
Miranda @ Miranda Runs
1. What is one of your running goals?
– Finish my first half marathon on Saturday! Without re-injuring myself!
2. Frosting or cake? You have to choose which one is better.
– Cake. I mean I love frosting but I can’t just eat it by itself.
3. What brand and model of running shoes did you wear (or are you going to wear) on your run today?
– Asics GT-2000!
Sarah G.
1. My biggest running goal right now is to complete my first full marathon this November. :)
2. CAKE
3. I’ll be wearing my Altra Intuitions today. I don’t love them and wish I could wear my Brooks but I swore I’d at least keep ’em around for treadmill runs until they burn out, and then I’ll get a 2nd pair of PureFlows. Speedwork on the treadmill for me tonight!
Christina @StinaOnTheMove
1. to continue to run happy!
2. cake!
3. Asics Nimbus 14 Clown Shoes

I love frosting! My running goals right now are to maintain. I run about 20miles a week and hope to keep that up the rest of summer. In the fall, I would like to start up with afew half marathons again. :-)
Love the blog!!!!

1. I’m a newbie runner, and my current goal is to run a 5k!! :) I’m super excited about it and loving getting back into running all over again!! 2. FROSTING. Cake I couldn’t care less about, but the frosting? THAT is where it’s at. 3. Nike Reax in grey and hot pink :)

I only eat cake if the frosting is really really amazing!! ;) But I love the flowers on it!

Goal is to run my first marathon in September! And stay injury free of course :)
Frosting!!! I will scrape the extra left behind in the pan onto my plate. I will also take frosting from someone else if they are crazy enough to scrape it off!
I’m a Mizuno Wave Rider girl all the way!
MM
Absolutely the frosting. I hang around the cake like a vulture waiting with a fork for people to leave those swirls of frosting that sometimes stick to the bottom of the cake box thing.
Lisa
LOVE the frosting!
I have officially signed up for my first ever 1/2 marathon and I guess my goal would be to stop freaking out about it. It’s not until October so I have some time.
I’m loyal to my Asics Nimbus.
(by the way, I’ve been a lurker for the last few weeks….love your blog :))
Cori @ olivetorun
Wherever there are BIG SALADS I will go. Build the giant salads… she will come!
I don’t like frosting or cake. Now what do I do? I do like froyo with lots of toppings though.
Courtney M.
1. Run a half in under 2 hours. I’m soooo close.
2. Cake! Red velvet.
3. Brooks Ghost 5. I love love them.
Nicole
1. Sub 1:45 half – being a better blogger – that can be a goal right?! I mean it’s a running blog!
2. Cake with frosting should be an answer, why have one without the other?
3. Kirvana 3, the 4’s are out but I bought a ton of the 3’s on sale because they are just so good and I love the bright colors!
Raychel
Such cute kids… and what the heck that salad isn’t near what I know you are capable of handling. Okay questions:
1. My running goal is to run my first half marathon by the end of this year.
2. I cannot choose one over the other. I can’t.
3. Right now I’m running with Asics GT 2000s but they almost have too many miles on them so I will be in the market for new ones soon!!
Vikki
1. Run a sub-70 minute 15k at the Boilermaker next month!
2. frosting
3. Mizuno Wave Inspire 9s in the most obnoxious colors I can find :)
Nicole
Running Goal: Run Boston.

FROSTING!!!
Brooks Glycerin 10’s
Kathryn
1. To run my first marathon in November
2. As if that is a question! Frosting is the obvious answer. Cake is simply the vehicle for the frosting. (mmmm frosting)
3. Brooks PureCadence 2
Karin
My running goal is to keep up my running fitness through this next pregnancy, although it has been really hard to run with the fatigue and nausea I’ve had.
I love cake and hate frosting. Please don’t ban me from reading your blog ;)
Lastly, I switch between the Brooks Ravenna which I love and Saucony Omnipro which are also awesome.
Suzi F.
OMG!! I was at the Spectrum last night to see a movie so I totally could of ran into you ladies. I read your blog, Skinny Runner’s and Monica’s all the time. Darn it!! Also, I love Tender Greens, the food tastes so fresh.
I hope you have a wonderful time in So Cal!
Kristen
1. My running goal is just to increase my speed! I’m just rejoining the running world (just had not been motivated!) and now more in love then ever! After that, I will set my next goal!

Kay
Mmm doughnuts!!
And yes that salad looks big but not by my/your standards, haha
Katie @ Live Half Full
Frosting is so much better!
My running goal this year is to stay injury free as I’ve been struggling with a bulging disc in my back.
And I’m a Brooks girl!
Becky @ Olives n Wine
I just registered for my first marathon this October so my running goal right now it to stick with my training plan! And frosting > cake. ALWAYS :)
STUFT Mama
So much fun friend!!!! :) Frosting flowers are the best!!! :) Such a great group of beautiful ladies. Hope we can meet up in the next few days!
Suzanne @ Mixing It Up
I want to move near you so that we can be best friends and go out to eat all the time. I swear, you eat better than anyone I know!!! You sure have a knack for finding all the fun places to eat!!
Yolande
I always eat my salads at home out of a mixing bowl :) I find when I go out to eat I rarely order salads because I’m so used to my giant veggie filled bowls, that I find myself unhappy with restaurant salads unless its a a salad bar then I’m a happy girl !
I wear vibrams for runs under 5km on a treadmill. I wear my new balances for longer runs and outdoor runs, I have a heal strike any recommendations for sneakers for heal strikes?
Frosting sooooo good!
Lizzi
1. A sub 1:50 half marathon. And then a 1:45. And then…..we’ll see ;)
2. This is a cruel question. Generally cake… but if the frosting is REALLY good (like really really mindblowingly good), the frosting wins and can do no wrong. Ever. The end.
3. I have a personal training session today, but will probably follow it up with a little (like.. 10 minute) treadmill run. I’ll be running in these bad boys (http://www.built-to-run.com/Inov8_FLite_195_GreyWhite/p894381_5557567.aspx), which are my go-to these days (after being a die-hard Mizuno lover for years) and have totally changed my running in an awesomeeee way!
LosingLindy
gosh I read almost every one of those girls except Pam, because I think she is blogless. She is on my dailymile though. ;)
Runningwithscissors
I guess I would choose cake if you’re making me pick just one.
I wore my ASIC Kayano 19’s on my run.
Kay
frosting!
Lindsey @ Run Freckles Run
1. What is one of your running goals?
– Complete a marathon.
2. Frosting or cake? You have to choose which one is better.
-Cake! If cake didn’t exist, there would be no frosting.
3. What brand and model of running shoes did you wear (or are you going to wear) on your run today?
– Today I wore Brooks PureGrit 2’s
Matilda
1. To run from Halls Gap to Stawell. It’s 28km |17.5mi. I plan on doing it as a fundraiser for my daughters school.
2. Cake. I find that the icing is way too rich. When I make a cake 99% of the time I don’t put icing on.
3. Brooks PureCadence2’s
Kristin
