How could I have done that?!

How could I have done what I did to Brooke yesterday?

I still feel guilty.

We ate delicious ginormous ice cream cones right in front of her (she had cheerios.  Babies aren’t supposed to have ice cream until they are 1 years old).  I don’t know what those kiddos were thinking getting cherry (aka medicine flavored) dipped cones… chocolate dipped is the way to go.

But I think Brooke forgave me when I took her to the park.

DSC 2365

Yep, she definitely forgave me.

I leave today for Arizona and my heart is actually throbbing/aching/breaking/crumbling just thinking about leaving these little ones.

Last dinner with the parentals.  As I was eating the delicious guacamole on my salad I had a flash back to a very hard time in my life.  The time during my pregnancy when I couldn’t stand guacamole.  I am glad I made it through and that my taste buds returned back to normal.

DSC 2382

After dinner I went back to my mom’s house and gave Brooke her first piano lesson.  I took piano lessons for a long time but quit in the 10th grade.  I can’t really read music anymore but I still have about a dozen songs memorized.  Would it be weird for me to start taking lessons again…. I am serious.  I really want to.

After piano lessons my mom and I went through her book of her favorite recipes and we came across this recipe.  I pinky promise (those are sacred to me) that I am not exaggerating…. this is my FAVORITE dessert recipe that my mom makes.

You are welcome for sharing such an amazing recipe with you and expect to see me making it on the blog within 48 hours of me getting home.

Did you take piano lessons growing up?  Did you play a different musical instrument?  For how long?

Moms reading:  when you were pregnant, what foods did you have an aversion to?

-Chocolate (especially hot chocolate), guacamole, peanut butter (at times) and broccoli.  It was really hard on me.

What was your dinner last night?!?

Who is from or lives in Arizona?  What part!!!

My cousin and I took ukelele (sp?) lessons. It was interesting! When I was pregnant I had cravings for random things and then the next day those same things were my aversions! It made shopping really difficult because I’d buy a ton of stuff that looked awesome and then the thought of it made me want to vomit the next day haha.

I was the exact same way!! Lol

LOVE Brooke’s hair- per usual. I hate leaving family! Maybe you should make them move to you!
i absolutely hated chicken when I was preggo… still do. I lived off peanut butter sandwiches though!

Reply

My dad wanted me to take piano lessons, but I could not sit still long enough to learn it. I wanted story be outside running! :)))

Reply

I played the saxophone for 8 years, and couldn’t stand greasy/fatty foods when I was pregnant with Susanna.

My mom was born in Tucson, but lived all over (Phoenix, Flagstaff, etc.). We’ve visited a few times, and I’m itching to take Scott and Susanna to some spots.

It’s never too late to pick up something that you’ve done in the past, or something new for that matter! I made vodka sauce last night with ravioli! It was delicious! Have a safe trip!

Reply

I took piano lessons as a kid but forgot everything already, totally kicking myself for that. I hated rice when I was pregnant and I am the rice queen. Last night I made grilled chicken, broccoli and cauliflower and long grain wild rice and had some sweet baby rays BBQ sauce to dip my chicken into. I hope you had an amazing time with your family, I bet Billy misses his girls!

Reply

Chocolate dipped cones > cherry dipped, I completely 100% agree with you. You know what would be even better – a peanut butter + chocolate dipped cone! Mmm. Have a safe trip to AZ!

Reply

You are seriously on to something. Come up with the recipe for it! Hope you are having an amazing day!

Reply

As an adult, I WISH I took piano lessons! I convinced my parents to let me play the drums instead. Not exactly a life long skill :)

That recipe looks so delicious! Safe travels!!

Reply

Cherry dipped cones? Ick! I would have gone with the chocolate too, for the record :)

Reply

The first 4 pictures aren’t working for me! I used to do the piano but can only play one song now. I actually have thought about taking lessons, my bf’s roommate takes them now!

Reply

Fixing it now! Thanks for telling me girl!

Reply

Aversions to chocolate, guacamole, and pb….that must have been VERY difficult! I didn’t have any aversions. Thank goodness! Thanks for sharing the dessert recipe. It sounds fabulous.

Reply

I played the violin in middle school, but I hated it and quit as soon as possible.

Last night for dinner we had omelets and bagels and cream cheese.

Reply

Eggs were the worst when I was pregnant! With my 2nd kiddo, I realized I was pregnant when I was craving a Sonic hamburger at 8am and I just had to have it, then took two bites and felt like puking. That was also the day I learned that Sonic does indeed serve hamburgers at 8am.

Reply

When I was prego with my first I couldn’t STAND chicken at all! Ate TONS of cheese though :)

Reply

I was all about cheese too!

Reply

Same here…I could not even stand the smell of chicken – let alone eat it

Reply

I cannot begin to imagine not liking guacamole! I just had Chipotle guacamole last night. My favorite ever! Dinner was their veggie bowl split with my youngest daughter.

I played the saxophone in 6th grade. But that was just to get out of gym. I didn’t like the gym teacher. I have always wanted to learn to play the piano. You should take lessons again!

Reply

Uh Oh .. I can’t see the first few pictures! oh no…….
only have DSC ###’s !!!
And…I think they were all of Brooke. ;-(

Thank you for letting me know!!!! Working on fixing it!

I always wanted to take piano lessons when I was younger but my parents could never really swing it, not to mention I lived out in the middle of nowhere and piano teachers were hard to find. I want my daughter, she’s 18 months old now, to take piano lessons and I am considering taking them right along with her!
I couldn’t eat or go anywhere near a salad when I was pregnant, it was so sad!

Reply

We had pad thai last night and it was incredible. I am already thinking of making it again tonight. I couldn’t imagine ever not wanting guacamole or chocolate! Good for you for making it through that hard time.

Reply

Once again, you have created a masterpiece in that salad!

I played clarinet for two years in middle school, but then the band director suggested I try sports instead, and in a round about way asked me to leave band. I was soooo relieved!!! :-)

Reply

Not weird at all that you want to take piano lessons. Chris keeps suggesting I do guitar lessons this summer. He is so serious, I am afraid a guitar might show up on our doorstep.

Last nights dinner was pizza!

Reply

My husband is a musician and we have a beautiful grand piano at our house and I used to know how to play and have totally thought about learning again so you aren’t strange at all. Do it!

Reply

I’ve never had a chocolate dipped cone (or any dipped cone) but they were all the rage in denmark and you have officially convinced me to try one! I took clarinet growing up. My mom hated it because she thought it sounded like a train wreck… I guess I wasn’t good at it or something.

Reply

You should totally take piano lessons! It’s never too late. :) You guys look adorable at the piano.

Reply

You should definitely take piano lessons again!

Reply

I played flute for 10 years. I wish I had kept it up! I probably could still play, but it may take a the reading music part may take some effort :-)

I hope in the future if I ever have a baby that I will not hate guacamole. I cannot imagine my life without it.

Reply

I took piano lessons when I was younger but never really got into it. I wish I played a musical instrument but I’d rather run then play music, haha

Reply

Awh, I think if you want to take piano lessons again, you definitely should!

I played the piano for a few years when I was really young, and I played the violin for many years after that. I somewhat regret not sticking with either–there’s just something about music that’s so pure and so relaxing and just so inherently wonderful.

Reply

I gave each of my kids there first ice cream cone at 6 months. Ice cream was definitely not a staple in their diet but it was sure fun to get that messy ice cream cone picture.

I played the saxophone when I was in elementary and middle school…once I got to highschool I spent all of my time with school work and xc and track.

Reply

there should be their :)

I hated pizza when I was pregnant, unless it was homemade and super fresh, and that aversion has continued on! I also hated salad which has litereally been my lunch every day for the past 10 years… except when I was pregnant. But after I had him, my salad love returned!

I played piano for maybe a year when I was super little then started playing the violin when I was in 2nd grade. Then I picked up the viola when I was in 10th grade and played it until I was a senior. I never loved it though. I think it was because my mom made me practice every day, and I wanted to be outside playing.

My dinner last night was Bobby Deen’s cheeseburger casserole and some fresh veggies. So yummy! (I’m a Georgia girl and my grandmother used to cook just like Paula Deen, but let’s face it, not so healthy!) Then I had a couple of oreos for dessert.

I meant to tell you, so your 20:30 is so impressive on a track by yourself! WTG!

Reply

I also took piano lessons! Ironically the only song I know how to play now is Fur Elise, I’m sure my mom is bummed that I couldn’t remember anything else after playing for 5 years!

Reply

Last night I had turkey, potatoes and gravy and celery with dip. I didn’t play the piano but I could play the clarinet. I think I still could… I hate salads when I was pregnant and I normally love them. I did have a craving for citrus and sour things though.

Reply

No but I really regret not taking piano lessons! I was in band for a bit and played the clarinet.
For a while I felt like I had a aversion to everything! Some top ones – any veggie, water, seafood, chocolate, and sweet foods in general.
Supper last night was kale, mushroom and asparagus quinoa pasta.
I am not, but in in laws live there part of the year – in Surpirse.

Reply

I took piano growing up for about 10 years! I actually miss it sometimes. Interestingly, I’ve recently thought about taking it back up again as well. It would be really cool to play some of my favorite songs! I also played the flute…but I wasn’t very good :-)

I had a giant salad with cheese, chicken and tomatoes last night, with a side of warmed spinach. mmmmm! And then of course, ice cream for dessert.

Reply

I took piano growing up! And my best friend went to school at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, which is SUCH a cool town! We also stopped and spent a day in Sedona which was really pretty!

Reply

I only took recorder lessons! Ha! Not the best sound in the world.

I wish I’d learnt to play the piano. I have really long fingers, which apparently is good for piano playing!

Reply

I say go for it! Get back behind those monochrome keys! It’s never too late! :)

Reply

I took piano lessons for a long time growing up, but then I got burnt out (I guess??) and quit. I can still -kind of- read music, but it would be nice to be able to play well again… so yeah, you’re definitely not along in considering to go back and take lessons again ;) Music is a pretty beautiful thing.

Reply

I played trumpet and trombone for about 3 seconds in elementary school! lol!
I couldn’t imagine not eating chocolate or peanut butter! I am pretty sure those are the two best foods in the world!
I don’t remember not liking anything when I was pregnant, but it was also six years ago so I probably forgot :)

Reply

I took piano lessons growing up too, I quit when I was a junior in high school (now, like you, I want to get back into it). I also took clarinet lessons and played the contrabass clarinet through college. I also learned to play the guitar sometime during college and continue to play that.

Last night we ate kabobs from the grill. They were delightful.

Have fun in Arizona.

Reply

Chocolate is way better than cherry dipped! I did have chocolate ice cream dipped in peanut butter topping once and it was delicious. I took piano lessons for five years. I didn’t love it then but now I wish I would have kept with it.

Enjoy AZ – our cars had frost on them this morning in chilly PA!

I think there are broken links for the first few photos. Okay, going back to read the article now!

Reply

Oh no!!! Working on fixing it! Thanks for letting me know!

I just happened to find your blog and I can’t believe you’re coming to Arizona!! I live in Gilbert. If you’re headed this way, get ready for some warm temps!

Reply

I want to take piano lessons but I stink at reading music!
Maybe this will be a new challenge for me??

Reply

I started out playing piano, I kept up with it for two years and then switched to the cello. I played the cello until my Senior year in high school. I even took it up for a year in college.

Last night I had homemade mac ‘n cheese. SO GOOD, I was also craving green onions on there own last night for some reason so ate 3 in a row.

Reply

I think piano lessons would be awesome. I always want to pick the violin back up, but i simply do not have the time to take lessons right now. You should definately do it.

Reply

I took piano lessons as a kid, and I’ve always regretted that I stopped. I don’t think it’s weird at all for you to start taking piano lessons. In fact, I’ve been toying with the idea myself recently!

Reply

I live in Scottsdale AZ! 103 degrees yesterday baby! Maybe think about aqua jogging again when you are here ;-)

I had aversions to almost all my favorite foods when I was pregnant; salads, cereal, most veggies, fish, and rice. I never knew what to eat. I also had a ferocious sweet tooth!

Reply

103…. AHHHH my brother has a pool so aqua jogging may be a really good option! CEREAL?!?!

Reply

I grew up in Phx area and have lived in Tucson area for the last 12 years. Unfortunately it’s that time of the year when running only feels comfortable around 5am…by 7-9am-ish, the warm weather and bright sun kicks in. If this non-morning runner does not get up early enough, I have to wait until after 6pm-ish for tolerable weather.
I’m Asian so playing the piano was a requirement! I stopped playing around junior high; I can sort of read music but I don’t have the time/dedication to re-learn.

Reply

Haha, I feel like the only one of your readers that isn’t a mom! Oh well, on another note, you have inspired me to do more core, glute and hip exercises–I am going to check out those 8-min. youtube videos you’ve posted!

Reply

I played flute and was really good at it, but I quit when I got to high school because I didn’t want to be nerdier than I already was. Last night for dinner I had a taco stuffed pepper (topped with guacamole) and steamed broccoli and mushrooms. Yum :D

p.s. your top 4 pics (up until the salad) are not working..at least not for me!

Reply

Thank you so much Rachel! I just fixed it!! You should take up the flute again and your taco stuffed pepper sounds incredible. I might have to copy you!

Reply

I played the piano for 15 years! I quit when I went to college and it is something that I really regret! I can still play a few songs, but nothing like I use to. I also played the clarinet in band! Last nights dinner was turkey burgers with some amazing sweet onion, brussel spouts and sweet potato fries.

Reply

My food aversion was (and still is) Subway. When I was pregnant with my 1st who is now 19 I worked right next door to a Subway. That smell kills me still to this day.

Reply

The look on Brooke’s face in the photo of her swinging – pure GLEE.

I think you should definitely take-up piano lessons again. Billster can pick-up an instrument in his spare time and Brooke can sing – The Jacobs family band!

Reply

I regret never learning to play an instrument. I would’ve gone piano first (long fingers), guitar second, drums third.

Reply

I played flute, guitar, and a tiny bit of piano.

Reply

I take piano right now. I love it so much. I also play French horn, flute, and guitar. Definitely start lessons again. Dinner last night was a turkey sandwich with Swiss, spinach, tomato, and guac. Oh my gosh delicious.

Reply

I play piano and I think you should take it up again!!! :)

Last night I had homemade borshch (Ukrainian beet soup) with pelmeni and vareniki (veal & potato pierogi).

Reply

I took piano on and off but stopped when I started singing a lot. I ended up majoring in music, so I say go take lessons! It would be fun and another way to have a “coach”!

I couldn’t eat eggs or peanut butter because it gave me horrible heartburn. So sad!

Reply

I took piano lessons as an adult for the first time when my son was just 6 months old!! It was fantastic! Also, thanks for the laugh, I needed it!!! (re:very hard time in your life/no guac)

Reply

I really wish I would have taken piano. I couldn’t eat donuts and I still cannot. My daughter is 2 1/2 and I tried it once since she was born and I had one bite and had to throw it out. I had roasted broccoli slaw with chicken, mushrooms, avocados with a ton of garlic for dinner last night.

Reply

haha I LOVE how Brooke is looking at Curly like, “Give me your cone!!”

Reply

Hahaha – I had to read your recipe twice, because it says to “combine remaining ingredients”, then to bake in the oven. For a few sentences there, I was feeling REALLY curious about what was going to happen to the ice cream, baking away in the oven. When I got down near the bottom, I realized I was a doofus. My only excuse is that it’s almost bedtime (here)!

I played the clarinet for a bazilliondy years (OK, maybe only 16), but don’t anymore, since it screws up my teeth and jaw. I took piano lessons from 8th-12th grade, and would loooove to do it again. Actually, I’d even just looooove to have a piano again! :)

Reply

I am so excited to have discovered your blog just a week ago! I have been a runner since my freshman year in college, about 12 years ago, but this is the first year that I have decided to train for a marathon! I have done several halfs, but I finally have the courage and confidence to train for a full!

I took piano for 3 or 4 years as a child and loved it. Wish I would have taken longer!

Last night for dinner I made a tasty Cooking Light recipe from this month’s issue – Garden Alfredo with Chicken. It had tons of veggies and was quite good!

Reply

I’m from Gilbert AZ! I love Arizona! I took piano lessons from k through 12. It was hard at times but I’m so glad I stuck with it :)

Reply

I played piano for 5 years and then cello for 7 years! You can totally take lessons again :) Maybe you and Brooke can take lessons together?!

Reply

Yup I took piano lessons. I hated it. I’d never practice and would just wing it when I went in for my lesson.

Oh man hot chocolate was the worst for when I was pregnant! The smell would make me so sick. Same with toothpaste smell or any minty gum. I also couldn’t stomach pizza or any greasy fast food which was sad.

Reply

I played the clarinet for one year and then gave it up 1) because I wasn’t very good and 2) because my music teacher threatened to fail me if I missed a concert for a swim meet. Yes, talk about encouraging the arts! Since I preferred swimming WAY more than music, it was an easy choice for me. I do think that playing the piano or any instrument is a wonderful talent, but I was not blessed with any musical talent whatsoever. Dinner last night was a pizza date with my hubby. We enjoyed adult conversation (complaining about our jobs) and didn’t have to inhale our food. It was AWESOME! My one-year-old rewarded me by waking up at 3:15 and crying until almost 5 a.m. Not so awesome.

Reply

I play piano, violin, and viola. You should definitely start taking piano lessons again! It would not be weird at all! My mom is 50 and just started taking lessons again after having not taken lessons since she was a little girl – she loves it!

And please oh please cultivate an appreciation for classical music in your adorable little Brooke! :)

Reply

haha I love that you guys ate ice cream in front of Brooke- and you also put Brooke in an ice cream shirt :)

I had tacos last night- my favorite.

Reply

I am pregnant right now, and have SO many aversions. For one, meat totally grosses me out-i ate sering it, smelling it and DEFINITELY cant eat it! Also, I have banned most cooking in my house to limit my gag reflex. This would be hard as we weren’t much to eat out before the pregnancy, but my husband is a resident and is working 90 hours/week and eats most of his stinky meals at the hospital! Bless his heart.

Reply

I’m up in Northern Arizona (Flagstaff area), running a great local 10K this weekend! I’ll be in Phoenix Wednesday for a friend’s concert, it’s going to be a HOT one! Enjoy your time, stay cool on those runs!

Reply

Hey, I’m a piano teacher. When you move back to Utah look me up. :)

I also played the clarinet for a few years, but it didn’t do it for me. I switched to choir in high school, and that was much better.

I had a baked potato & a chocolate chip milkshake. Half my family was gone so we kept it simple.

Reply

I am pregnant now and meat makes me gag! It did with my son, too.

Reply

I’ve never had that Ice Cream Dessert and it sounds so good, Thanks for sharing!

Reply

I totally want to take piano lessons some day! I took for about 6 months and then my teacher moved and shortly thereafter I started playing violin. So I’d love to take piano someday. Maybe when I have kids we can all take lessons together!

Reply

I took piano too! I quit at 18. I can still read music & play once in awhile, but I am not good at all. Hah :)

Have fun in AZ!!

I am pregnant (duh) –and major aversions of chocolate & almond butter. And for the first 3.5 months–aversions to pretty much any real food. so so sad. Glad that part is over!

Reply

I sing but I want to learn how to play piano so bad!
No babies yet but I’m so excited to see what my body will do to me :)

Reply

I took piano lesson when I was really young but it only lasted 2 years. Wished my mom had forced me to play…

When pregnant I could not stand the smell of pasta or eat it and garlic. But I love pasta now and garlic. : )

Reply

I took lessons as a kid and then I started taking lessons again as an adult and I LOVE IT. I’ve been taking for five years now and it is awesome. Do it. You won’t regret it.

Reply

I took piano lessons forever and still love to play. I can’t wait to have a house one day to own a piano!

That first picture of Brooke is hilarious, she looks so mad!!

Reply

I took piano lessons when I was a kid and my dad decided to take it up again at the same time. My brother and I loved that we could practice with him so I totally think you should start lessons again if you want to!

Reply

I took piano lessons but was HORRIBLE. I also took violin lessons and rocked those! Ended up sticking with violin and nixing the piano.

Brooke is SO cute!! Even her mad pics make my heart melt!

Reply

I love how positively happy Brooke always looks, especially when a park is involved :) I’ve always wished that I took piano lessons, but I did not. I am pregnant now and I’m so sad that I’m not loving chocolate too! Last night’s dinner was goulash (beef, w/tomatoes, onions, noodles type thing).

Reply

I played several musical instruments growing up. The piano is still my favorite and what a stress reliever playing is for me. I think you should take lessons again. You’ll never regret being able to play.

Reply

I don’t think it would be weird at all for you to take piano lessons. My friend’s mom started taking them when she was 38, and 20 years later she still loves it.

I did not play an instrument, I did sing though.

Reply

I live in Phoenix! You’re never too old to take piano lessons. That sounds awesome!

Reply

I live in Arizona! I live in Tempe- where are going to be!?

Reply

Phoenix! Is that close?

Reply

Yes! Tempe is just a smaller city outside of Phoneix. How long are you here for? Areyou planning on meeting with any meet ups while you are here?

Reply

Yes for sure! A week! I will post about the get together on the blog when I figure things out!

Reply

That would be so fun for AZ people!

Reply

Aww, I’m going to Tempe in a couple weeks for a friend’s wedding. I heard there’s a pretty big running community… True? :)

Reply

I think it is AWESOME that you want to take piano lessons again!! It’s never too late! :) Although, sounds like since you already know how to play that it’ll probably come back in no time! I play the alto sax and can read music, but piano is my goal very soon! I own one, so no excuses, right?

Food aversions:
My First pregnancy it was chocolate (I know… crazy!) and steak. The second one I couldn’t get enough chocolate, and I don’t remember having any really bad food aversions.

Reply

P.S. It was the pregnancy with the chocolate aversion that I gained a TON and was less healthy. My second pregnancy when I survived on chocolate and peanut butter was much better, with a normal healthy weight gain… thus proving that chocolate is good for your health and weight :)

Reply

Hi! Regarding the recipe, how much is a “cube” of butter? You see what I’m interested in!

I have two kids and it is news to me that they can’t have ice cream before a year old!! I guess every Dr has their own recommendations but my kids were downing yogurt by the time they were Brooke’s age and they turned out alright ;-)

Pregnancy Aversion: Chicken and eggs

Piano: YES, you should take it up again!! I bet you would remember how to read music really quickly. I plan to start my 7 year old on lessons this Summer.

Reply

Agreed – the only dairy product I was told to wait a year for was actual cow’s milk. My kids both ate a TON of dairy before age 1 – yogurt and cheese and the occasional bite of mom’s ice cream!

Reply

I became a band geek starting at age 10. I played the clarinet and tenor sax through high school and had the wonderful opportunity of attending band camp for 4 years. I also took piano lessons for over 10 years and still enjoy playing whenever I have the opportunity.

Reply

I took piano lessons for 3-4 years (my piano teacher used to make me cry because she thought I didn’t practice enough…she was probably correct), I played the flute for 7 years and the cello for 3 years. I miss the cello the most and have considered taking lessons again. But, seriously, when would I find time?

Reply

Love Brooke in those little pigtails. I took violin lessons for 4 years and clarinet lessons for 8 years. I also took voice lessons and sang into college.

Reply

Maybe they get the cherry ones so you don’t ask them for a bite..lol…they know you well. *wink*

Reply

Mmm, that ice cream looks so good!!

Yup, I used to take piano lessons, recorder lessons (…??), and viola lessons for years- and I probably couldn’t play any of them today, sadly.

Reply

While pregnant my love for sweets was totally gone which was really sad – but it’s back in full force now! I really just didn’t enjoy food while pregnant, eating was a chore. Thank goodness I survived! :)

I’m from Gilbert, AZ! I love Arizona and miss it like crazy. I live in Nebraska now sadly. Highly recommend going out to Oreganos while your there!! I think you would love it!

Reply

No musical instruments for me. I tried to learn how to play the saxaphone (my dad played)….I think I just annoyed the heck out of my parents!

Last night’s dinner was an “All Hail Kale” salad from Veggie Grill….with “chillin’ chick’n” added. ….and a brownie!

Reply

I think that you may have ice cream confused with chocolate. Babies can’t have chocolate until they’re 1, but a little ice cream is ok. It’s ok for them to have yogurt, cheese, and other dairy products at this age – why not ice cream. Besides – breastmilk and formula are all milk-based. My youngest was born last 8/29, and she has tried (and loved!) vanilla ice cream on several occasions.

Reply

Hmm interesting. Brooke’s pediatrician told me to wait until she is one to introduce ice cream.

Reply

Ice cream is a little harder on the stomach than yogurt or cheeses. I’ve only given a couple of spoonfuls at a time. You have to do what you feel comfortable doing. This is my 3rd, and I’ve seen how the eating guidelines change over just a year or 2. I’ve learned to make my own educated decisions, and I definitely stay away from the big no-no’s – chocolate, milk, honey.

Reply

Awesome! Thank you so much Amy! I really appreciate you!

Reply

No piano lessons for me. I did play the clarinet in 5-8th grade but was done after that.
Dinner last night was one of my absolute faves…homemade mac-n-cheese from http://www.thesmallthingsblog.com. So so easy and absolute delish!!!

When I was preggo last summer I had an aversion to corn on the cob, my true love. It was aweful and I’m making up for it this summer, having some right now!

Oh man, those ice creams look glorious!
I love how happy and care free you look, its actually beautiful.

I didn’t really have any aversions when I was pregnant but I did start liking things I didn’t really eat much off before, like spicy food and chocolate<—-it's true I wasn't much of a chocolate fan before I got pregnant with my first. Now I can't live without it. And I still love spicy food.
I took piano for a few years and played the drums in High School. I have been thinking about taking drum lessons again because I loved banging on the drums. It's a good release ;-)
I live in Mesa AZ! Unfortunately it has gotten really hot this week so plan your workouts early, early! Or swim!
Have a great trip

I took piano lessons for 12 years growing up (kindergarten through 12th grade). I still know how to play, and I can still play my senior concerto and some other songs, but I can’t learn new stuff. I think it’s totally fine for you to take piano lessons as an adult!! The lady I took piano lessons from (an elderly, grandmother-type) had a few adults that she taught. They even played at our recitals :)

Reply

I am a music teacher so I play all kinds of instruments. My main instruments are trumpet, violin and piano. You should definitely take lessons again! It would come back to you :)

I’m flying to PHX tomorrow too!

I never took piano but I wish I had. I actually put learning piano and violin on my bucket list so hopefully one day I’ll make it happen (when I have time – HA!).

I hope you do pick piano back up. It would be such a fun thing for you and Brooke to do together.
