How to fuel for lifting and do you have a treadmill?

We knew that we had a full day of moving and lifting heavy things (actually Billy did all of the moving, I had the hard job of having to play with Brooke while he worked hard) so we started off with an awesome brunch with friends.

Ever single item on this plate was insanely good.  We had banana muffins, french toast casserole, cinnamon rolls, egg casserole, banana bread and strawberries.  I can’t even tell you which one was my favorite because they were all so good.  Oh yeah, we also had my favorite pink lemonade.

At about noon we started the move.  Brooke was extra helpful;)

DSC 0960

I was also very helpful.  I woke up extra extra early yesterday to take a friend to her 1/2 marathon in Santa Cruz that morning so by 3 p.m. I needed a little caffeine via Billy’s Dr. Pepper.  It was delicious.

DSC 0965

Bangs Friend knew that we would be too busy to make ourselves dinner (and heaven forbid we have something boring/easy for dinner on a Sunday night) so she had us over for her homemade Cafe Rio pork salads.  I felt like I was in Utah.   Speaking of which, I haven’t been home in almost two months…. that is just not okay.

DSC 0972

They were really feeling generous and gave me their leftover Easter candy and I ate mr. bunny for dessert.

DSC 0988

And then it was time to move the heavy stuff.  Here they are taking out the most fragile item from our home, the treadmill.

Today is another RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN day.  I am really looking forward to it and I hope you are looking forward to your run today also!

When was the last time you moved?  Where did you move from?

Who else owns a treadmill?!?!  What kind of treadmill do you have?

Who else is looking forward to a run today?

How often do you get to go back ‘home’ to where you grew up?

I’m super excited to run today because its supposed to be 50 degrees! I go home almost once a month- it’s only 3 hours away and I can’t help myself.

WOOOOOHOOOO!!! Another run!!!! :D :D Hope it is WONDERFUL!
Glad the move went well, again, B & G match ;) Those two NEED to get together!!! I think their closets would match exactly.

We moved from a house we were renting to our first owned home in September. I have a profirm treadmill and when it was time to move that my husband was cursing my name, but I love it!

I have a treadmill, but it is not near as nice as yours. It’s a pro-form, but it does the job. Brunch looks fantastic!

Yey new apartment wohoo!!!

I haven’t been home in over a year, yikes!! Luckily my family comes to visit me pretty often so it works out rather nicely :)

Looks like the move went well! Its a lot of work, lucky that you had lots of guys to do the heavy lifting :)

I’m moving in 3.5 weeks across the country to Vancouver because my boyfriend is being transferred there for work. Its super exciting but the thought of packing is daunting, and I’d rather do anything else….lol.

Thanks for the fueling while lifting tips ;-) We moved into our house a year ago almost exactly! It goes by so fast… I just finished an 8 mile run and it’s cool out where my parents live so it was nice! Have a great run today.

The last of (about 60 combined) moves was last June-July from VA to UT. I was 20 weeks preg, and asked the OB what I was allowed to do or not do. She basically gave me the okay, so the hub and I had the U-Haul loaded with all of the heavy stuff before our friends came to help. Note- I was smart and did stay inside once it got crazy hot.

Moving is something I enjoy having done it so. many. many. many. times.

Hi Janae,
First I want to thank you for your note back! It meant alot to me. My knee is feeling better, but I still need to take it easy. I do try and strength train as part of my regular exercise routine, however, the bending, etc is hard at this point, but I know I’ll be back to it…just have to be patient and take care of myself! I just can’t wait until I can comfortably even walk on my treadmill or outside. My treadmill is an older ProForm one. It’s simple, but super heavy duty and does what I need it to do and I do love it. Have a great day!

Thanks,
Jonna

All of that brunch food looks so good!! I hate moving, but it would much more appealing if I knew I was going to eat that well on moving day! ;)

I have moved 6 times in the past 4 years! Luckily I am finally settled in a home that I own and will not have to move until I want to. I also live in the same area I grew up in, which is really nice. I don’t own a treadmill, but really wished I did! Good luck with the rest of the move and unpacking!

I’m sure that’s just the first of many times that Brooke will “help” you with a chore!

I don’t have a treadmill, but I have an elliptical and a stationary bike. Does that count? I’m hoping to get a run in later today after I see my last client! Yay!

I’m so glad I haven’t moved in 5 years (since I got married!) because before that I moved all the time and I’m kind of sick of packing all my stuff up!

Looking forward to my run tomorrow. It’s late night here and now I’m hungry. Must learn to not read your posts before bed – mmmm chocolate…. :)

A little excited (and nervous too)… because I just registered for my first half marathon – woo hoo!!! I of course had to write a blog post about it!

Yay enjoy moving! I moved 4 years ago from San Antonio to Houston, so not very big of a move. I’m dying to move to Oregon tho.. hopefully one day.

I wish I had a treadmill, I’m completely jealous of yours. Especially now that it’s about to summer… in Texas… ugh!

Reply

My last move was in July of 2011 and it was a big one. I moved from LA to Milwaukee and got married 4 weeks later. I ran a half marathon yesterday. I’m taking today off of running before getting back into marathon training tomorrow. 6 weeks until my first full!

Reply

Haha, oh poor Mr. Bunny! (YUM) I wish I had a treadmill :( Even just to use it for walking while watching TV would be great!

When we moved our treadmill, it was just Mike and me. It was a disaster!! Let’s just say, it is never moving again and neither are we!

I moved last year and our lease is getting ready to be up so we get to move again in a couple months. I actually love moving. I get to clean out every little thing, get rid of stuff and start new. This next house will be our “home” for a good long time if not forever so I’m really excited for his move.

I just got a used Woodway Path TM through Craigslist a couple of months ago which required a few repairs. It runs smoothly and beautifully now, and I love it!
No running today for me. I did 11 miles yesterday and tweaked my hip flexor somehow, so I’m stretching and resting it today.

I just went back home to Miami this weekend and loved every minute. We visit about every 3 months but with wedding planning I think we will be going down there much more often :)

What a fun moving day! The last time I moved was about 4 months ago, I didn’t have much so it was fun! I am sure when you have more stuff it is not as fun! :) I get to go home once or twice a month. I love it!

I just moved last weekend! We moved about two miles from our old apartment but we are so much happier in the new neighborhood and new house. I am still feeling the exhaustion of the move, so I wish you lots of luck!!

I love your Petunia Pickle Bottom Bag, those are the best diaper bags! The last time we moved was in December after just having moved in July the same year. We moved from Texas to Missouri where my husband is stationed. In December I got a call from housing on post saying that our house was scheduled for demolition and we needed to move to another house. We had ten days to move and to make things worse I was trying to plan my son’s birthday and Christmas all at the same time. Needless to say I had to put up and take down my Christmas tree twice.

I have a Smooth Fitness treadmill and it is a killer to move, probably what we dread moving the most.

I’m really wanting to look forward to my run today but I’m not sure my ankle is going to let me enjoy it. I’m hoping m doctor can tell me what’s wrong because I cant’ for the love of God figure it out.

I love going back to visit my family as often as we can, when we lived in Texas they were much closer to us so we went a lot. Now that we live in Missouri it’s really hard. It’s been 3 months since I’ve seen them and I’m looking forward to the summer when we will reunite again. Thank goodness for FaceTime.

Yes! I have a Nordictrack Commercial 1500, and I love it, and you can find deals and get it delivered. One of the best purchases I ever made.

Sorry for the self-promo, but by coincidence, I just blogged about my love for my treadmill here: http://markmatthewsauthor.blogspot.com/2013/04/im-cowboy-on-treadmill-belt-i-ride.html (along with some Bon Jovi references)

Ha! Looks like the perfect lifting fuel to me ;) It’s actually been a good year and a half since I’ve moved out into my own place, and I’m lucky enough to still live in the same city that I grew up in, so seeing my family is only about a 15 to 20 minute drive. And speaking of family, they’re also the ones with the treadmill, which is nice because I didn’t have to go through the hassle of moving it and I can still go over and use it any time. Win

Reply

Yayyyyy for another run day!!!Today’s my long day. Well, as long as a practice can be so actually not that long. I’m not a treadmill lover but I can see why it would be exciting for you. Also, I’m coming to brunch with you next time. I could really go for some cinnamon rolls right now.

Happy moving week! The last time I moved was June 2011! My roommate is moving out on Thursday though and I am moving into her room. I think it will feel like a quasi move because I will take advantage of being roommateless for a few days and go through everything I own and downsize a bit. I make it to see my parents about 4 times a year I would say? Typically in March / August / November / and December!

My most recent move was when I got married- we moved from the west side of the area to the east side. I love love love unpacking and settling everything in. It *almost* makes the awful process of packing worth it!

Congrats on the new apartment! I love moving :).

Rest day for me. I will be doing some yoga when the kids go down for a nap today.

No treadmill for me. I ran 16k on my parents treadmill yesterday and I almost died. Not a treadmill fan…

We haven’t moved in over a year, which is really a wonderful feeling. We moved from a terrible apartment with upstairs neighbors who walked around like elephants to our own house. Moving sucked but it’s so nice to have our own house

I actually dont have a treadmill (not a runner though) I had one one time when i lived in an efficiency apartment… i got it for free and ended up getting rid of after a couple months because it ended up accumulating junk on it, haha!
Last time I moved was last july, we moved from a 1 bedroom appt to a 2 bedroom appt in our same complex.. basically moved to the building across the street!

The last time I moved was in June of 2010 out of my parents house where we had been for 8 months and into our home we had just finished building!
We moved within South Thomaston, ME 1.5 miles down the road from my parents. We do have a treadmill – Chris got me one for Christmas that same year we moved. I love it!! It’s a Nordictrac…not sure the model.
I am definitely looking forward to running today – it is supposed to be 55-60 today!! The warmest it’s been yet this year.

We moved into our first home 6 months ago – September!

Funny thing about treadmills… I got a bonus last year and was SO excited bc I found a killer deal on a NordicTrak (wanted one sooo much since you profess all your love for yours! I call her Nordi) and since we were still renovating many of the rooms the guys put her upstairs in the loft almost killing themselves in the process. Well, a few months later, I had decided the gym area would work best downstairs so once again — Nordi had to be moved! I think she’s pretty set where she is now bc I don’t think the guys are going to want to move her for me ever again… lol!

Hoping hoping hoping I get to run today!! My shins are feeling better so I’m going to try it out :-D

I moved in August from Chicago/Myrtle Beach, SC (I had stuff in both places) to Melbourne, FL. Not planning on moving again until at least next May! I don’t own a treadmill…nor do I really like the treadmill :/ I went for a 4 mile run this morning…I was hoping for longer but I’ve been INSANELY hungry lately and my tummy was just two grumbly to go the extra two miles I had planned. I haven’t been home in 4 months…and won’t go home until August! Even then, it’ll be for two and a half days. Crazy!

I hope your run goes well today.
We are in the process of buying a house and we are figuring out the “necessities” for when we start buying. My number 2 is a treadmill (right after a bed). How do I convince my husband that this is logical? :)

last time we moved was about 2 years ago.. murray to bountiful.. it was not fun..especially with two 3 month olds. But I’m so happy where we are now!

No treadmill.. I really really want one! my kids nap for 3-4 hours in the afternoon so I could get some mileage in, instead of eating mass amounts of sugar and watching reruns of greys anatomy;) but that is just too much fun! lol

no run, still recovering from hip issues. boo.

We’ve lived in our house for almost 7 years and I’d hate to have to move again – we own too much stuff!
LOVE my treadmill – it’s a ProForm and has been my running buddy through the winter but I’m looking forward to running outside now that it’s warming up!

Brooke just wanted to snacks- just like her mom, right?
We moved from a farm into the city about a year ago. It’s been heavenly to not have to drive as far. There are woods behind our neighborhood, so I trail run at least once a week, and we can walk to Target, froyo, pizza, and mexican food as well as TWO starbucks, all with the woods as a buffer. It’s pretty great.
I have a treadmill, and it lives in the garage. We see each other most weekdays at 5:15 am, because that’s the only time I can run and not take away family time.

We moved to our place from an apartment about 7 miles north so that we could be in a better location and better home… Now we are buying a home so we will be moving soon!

I have a treadmill! I used to have the nordictrack incline trainer but it broke down three times and I returned it just in time for that 90-day window Sears has. I ended up buying a used proform XP off Craigslist before I moved to Africa and I haven’t had any problems. I LOVE having a treadmill at home, especially since its not safe to run outdoors here.

I have a treadmill I got off craigslist, I have no idea what it is. I really only use it on threat of death though.

I’m looking forward to my run today! Speed work is my favorite. I’m not good at it, but I enjoy it!

I rarely get “home”. But since most of my family has now moved near me I don’t really have to.

I have a treadmill and run on it quite often, in fact I just did this morning. Since we live in Oregon unless I want to run in our lovely liquid sunshine all winter I hit the treadmill.
Congrats on the move, new places are always fun. We are starting the packing process too.

Reply

I last moved almost 1 year ago but it was just across the street, so it wasn’t too bad. We actually went from not even packed to totally moved in about 3 hours. It was actually really impressive.
I get home about once month. We usually have some sort of family event (birthday, holiday, etc) about once a month and that’s usually what brings me home. I’ll be going home this weekend for my dad’s birthday! Big 50! (shhh…)

Reply

I have a treadmill, a NordicTrack C900 Pro, and it’s a pain in the arse to move! It won’t fit through doorways so you have to disassemble half of it to get it out of the house… combine that with the fact it weighs about 5 tons and it’s my least favorite part of moving (which I’m going to be doing in 2 months.. ugh). I totally enjoy having it when I don’t have to haul it around, though, it’s sooo convenient when I don’t want to run in the rain/cold/dark outside!

Reply

The last time I moved was in November and I don’t care to do it again!! Haha I told Boy he better like the new house, cause we’re not going anywhere again! Too much work :)

I have a treadmill – it’s a Livestrong one. I really like it! They’re not too expensive, it has pretty colours on it and it has everything I need in a treadmill. I’ve been really happy with it so far! Now I just need a TV to hook up on the wall in front of it :)

Reply

Hooray for moving to a bigger place! We moved into our place four years ago, which seems crazy to me. The location can’t be beat and neither of us likes to move, so here we are. I can’t remember the last time I ran on a treadmill, I do all my runs outside (which totally works in the PNW if you don’t mind the rain!)

Fortunately, I live in the town where I grew up.
I have a half Saturday so it’s time to cut back a bit but I did go out for a 7 miler. I wasn’t so much in the mood for running today but just started cruising along,by myself (day off from work so slept in and ran alone). Avg. 8:32 which felt about like a 20:32. Weird how we feel we are running sometimes and how we actually are running!
Hope you get settled in quickly!!!!!

We moved in May 2010.. We moved from central Florida to the west coast of Florida

My Dad gave me some kind of fancy Nordic Trak treadmill. It’s heavy as hell, and not fun to move up and down the stairs. We originally put it upstairs, but recently converted a room in our garage to a gym, so it had to be moved back downstairs. that joker is heavy!

Not sure If i’m going to run today – I took a 4 mth hiatus from running and im’ pretty sore after my first run back.

I go home a few times a month. It’s 1.5hrs from where we currently live. Not so far, but far enough that I don’t go home often.

Wishing you a smooth move! :) Last time I moved was from my parents’ house, which I where I grew up, to the house my husband and I bought in 2011. I am so fortunate to only be 15 min. away from my parents house, so it is easy to drop by anytime. Hope you get to visit Utah soon!

Yeah for moving. . . and I am glad I don’t have the only baby who dumps puffs all over the floor! LOL.

My hubby and I finally bit the bullet and bought a treadmill when I was pregnant with our 2nd. I’m so glad we did. It was great to go downstairs any time I wanted to run, without having to worry about the judgmental stares from the little old ladies at the gym as my belly got bigger and my face got redder. But now that the weather is getting nicer, I’m excited to escape the treadmill trap and hit the roads & trails. Good luck with your move!

I moved 4 years ago from the other side of town :) I can’t believe I have been in this house for that long. I swear I just moved in.

I own a treadmill. I think the brand is P.O.S. Some black Friday deal. It sucks, but at least I have one for when I NEED to stay at home. One day when I am rich (ha!) I will get a super nice one. Ross wants me to run on a treadmill at home every time I run so I never get hit by a car, or kidnapped and all those things (he is a big time worrier).

Ummm I was at home yesterday. I go back home at least 2x a month…usually more. lol. What can I say? My family is great. Who wouldn’t want to hang out with them?! ;)

Wait until Brooke gets to the wipes or the toilet paper…way more fun to clean up than those puffs. Ha!

Sounds like your move went well. Yay! Hopefully unpacking is going well too. I would much rather pack than unpack. Reward yourself with more of the Café Rio salad after your done. I know I wish I were eating it right now!

Moving is always an adventure, I moved into my Fiance’s house recently and it actually went smooth. I have had some crazy stories about moving before so to say the least I was pleased for a “boring move” story.

We have an old treadmill, but the thing runs great. I can’t do anything crazy long on it because the old ones have such small shocks (if any at all) and my knees bother me. But it’s convenient to have in our basement for when I don’t want to drive to the gym and it’s crappy out.

Reply

Oh, how cool! I was in Santa Cruz yesterday as a pacer for that half marathon! Hehehe, Brooke ;)

When was the last time you moved? Where did you move from?
We have a treadmill but I think that its bit the dust! I think the shocks must have went out on it because its very bouncy/squeaky. Plus the monitor isn’t working. Its a pro-form but I think I’ve ran on it so much (we’ve had it for 4 years) that its just not working anymore. I won’t be running today but tomorrow!!! I’m so excited because its post-injury and I’m so much better now.

When was the last time you moved? Where did you move from?
-I moved to my home 4 months ago. I was living in my parent’s basement prior to this. Now I have this big house!!!

Who else owns a treadmill?!?! What kind of treadmill do you have?
-Nordic Track C900. Seriously, you talked it up so much that I bought my own.

Who else is looking forward to a run today?
-I just finished mine! The weather was great so I was super excited to hit the trail!

How often do you get to go back ‘home’ to where you grew up?
Almost once a week. My family lives 15 min from me. They’ve lived on the same farm my whole life.

We moved from the cool neighborhood downtown to an apartment in the burbs almost 4 years ago and unless they raise our rent like 500% I am not moving again – it’s the worst! At least not until we figure out what city we want to live in!

I just got one for Valentines Day and it’s amazing! It’s a proform and I love it so much.

It’s now almost 9pm so it’s my bedtime but I have track work in the morning to look forward to!

NOT NEARLY ENOUGH – haven’t been there since Christmas and that’s a crime. I’ll be there next month and I’m counting the days! I get ridiculously homesick especially since my perfect little nephew was born 8 months ago.

Hope you enjoy the new apt!

Yay for moving!! Can’t wait to hear how much you love your new place!!

Our last move was just about a year ago when we bought our house. It was the 3rd place my hubs and I had lived in together but the first time owning a place for both of us. It was also our easiest move because we learned from the 2 prior moves and decided to get movers this time. Best $400 I ever spent.

We have a ProForm Crosswalk treadmill and I am in love with it. It was a steal and we use it all the time! I don’t get much use from the crosswalk arms but it is perfect for my speedwork intervals and hill workouts. I am looking forward to having it this summer on the too-hot-to-run-outside days.
Who else is looking forward to a run today?

“Back home” to me is upstate NY, and it’s about 6.5 hrs from where I live now, in the suburbs of Philly. I was actually just there this past weekend visiting my BFF and meeting her baby boy for the first time — my Godson!! :)

I cannot wait to run today! We’ve skipped spring in VA – it went from the 30’s last week to over 80 today. I have a Nordic Track treadmill which is amazing and I love it. All I need is a new fan to help cool me down now that it’s summer!

I have a Nordic track treadmill, got the C1750 on sale! Thanks for the recommendation for a Nordic track:)

I’ve been dealing with a runner’s knee injury and I cannot wait to run again. It’s been 2-3 weeks with no/minimal running and it is depressing!

Hey there! I have the same treadmill. Getting ready to move mine from one room to another. I see it looks like you guys took it down to 2 parts.. base & console. Any ideas from which part he took apart the console?
