Brooke loves the running trails just as much as I do.

It is totally normal to have three strollers in the back of your car at all times. There have been days that we have used all three in one afternoon.  We are prepared.

Today was a run day.  It was my first time running with Brooke in a very long time and it was awesome. She has missed the running trail and the wind blowing through her hair just as much as I have.   Injuries really make you realize just how awesome running is and how you never want to go without it again for the rest of your life.

Before the workout I did 8 minute abs, a runner’s core 11 minute dvd and my running drills.   The weirdest thing is happening to me…. doing core work is kind of becoming a habit.

We got home and started getting ready for the day and Brooke found my hidden stash of candy in my diaper bag.  She may look just like billy but I already know that she has my exact same tastebuds.

Billy had his first final of the semester today!  It has been a crazy week for him and he has had to go back to school after dinner every night this week.  Today he got home at noon and I officially have him for the next 62 hours all to myself (and I guess I’ll share him with Brooke too).

We are on our way to Southern California for Billy’s brother’s wedding.  We stopped at Wendy’s on the way and we are in a fight with that restaurant now.  They gave me a fork for my chili and they forgot Billy’s chicken wrap.  Good thing that I brought enough swedish fish for a year to get us through this tough time.

Um, I have emergency food stashes everywhere. Do people leave the house without water, granola bars and an apple? That would be risky in my opinion!

This weekend I will be watching the Masters, running and baking cookies, AMAZING!

My favorite fast food is Chipotle, mostly because of the Guac. We’re laying low this weekend since the last two have been crazy busy…just running and relaxing the two R’s

Brooke has excellent taste buds, naturally! ;) Have so much fun at the wedding!!! My favourite fast food place is In N Out!

That picture of Billy and Brooke is SO cute. The way she is looking at him makes my heart melt! Such a cutie! Have a good weekend and drive safe down south!

I’m glad you had a great run with Brooke! It’s a huge bummer that Wendy’s left out some of your food. I hate it when fast food restaurants do that, and I feel like it happens way more often than it should. I think I had that exact same Wendy’s lunch, minus the chili, at least once a week when I was in grad school. I don’t keep a stash of candy/food in my purse, but I should–I get cranky and slightly disoriented when my blood sugar gets too low.

That’s no good of Wendy’s! Enjoy the wedding :D. Right now I’m in Paris, so that’s a pretty great weekend I’d say!

A 5k date in the morning with my husband and my son is excited to do the kids run

My car is super clean (at the moment) because we drove 20 miles to the awesome car wash equipped with shooters at the window so the kids can shoot water & soap as the car passes by
I always have something to snack on in my bag…currently its Amish pretzel sticks & Swedish fish.

Enjoy the wedding !

My car looks just as bad, the double city mini, my snap and go and then my single BOB. (anyone have a lightly used double BOB they want to get rid of?)

Love Brooker with all that candy! We’re going shopping this weekend and looking for yorkie puppies. My favorite fast food is chick-fil-a! Gonna eat some tonight!

Sounds like a great weekend! I don’t have a need for strollers but I understand the need to bring half your life with you when you go somewhere. I love that Brooke has your tastebuds! :-)

Fro yo tonight with a friend! I’m excited! Have fun at the wedding! Secret stashes everywhere are a must. One time Joe was hungry and I pulled a twinkie out of my purse. I think that’s when he knew I was a keeper :-)

Your run sounds amazing! It’s nice to be able to appreciate every mile, isn’t it? I hope you have a blast at the wedding this weekend! I made it to Boston and it is cold and rainy, but so much fun! After we go to In ‘n’ Out Burger, maybe I will have a new fave fast food place. For now, I love Subway!

I have a going away get together for a friend who is going to PA school in Arizona tonight. Tomorrow I’m going home for my dad’s birthday! Woohoo! Yay for weddings! That will be fun!
I’m embarrassed to say I do not have an emergency food stash. I should. I am prone to getting hangry.

My car is full of tennis shoes, yoga mats, I think I even have some dumbells in there and teaching stuff… oh and plastic Easter eggs (after holiday clearance to use for a Math hunt at the end of the year).

I bet you can’t guess what I love doing.

HAHA. Love that she found your candy stash. TOO cute.

Tonight the fam is going out for dinner and I am so excited!!

Oh…that picture of Brooke and Billy!!!!!! They are so cute. I want to have a baby that looks just like my husband.

This weekend, not sure. I have to work for a couple hours tomorrow morning. Girls both have softball practice Sunday afternoon. And I have a banquet Sunday afternoon, if I decide to go.

Favorite fast food place is probably Chipotles!

Do you have a clean car or a messy/full of everything you own car? Full of work stuff at the moment.

I always have a snack and fresh fruit in my purse.

Friend’s bridal shower (Tiffany blue themed!), watch 42 at the coolest theater ever (unlimited butter and seasonings? for freeee?), and enjoy bagels & boba at my new favorite breakfast spot.

Reply

We have emergency food stashes in our diaper bag (which is really a GoLite running pack that we’ve converted), the console of our car, and other spots. My hub and I were trained as children to have stashes of food for trips and who-knows-when moments. The same applied to his work.

We also keep 2 gallons of water, jumper cables and emergency supplies, spare blankets and a few towels in the car. Oh, and a round of extra baby wipes, too, which have doubled as a shower before we had Susanna.

I always have emergency food in my purse!! If I have it, I never need it, once I don’t have it though, then I really need it!! Love Togo’s, best sandwich/wrap/salad place around!! Hopefully getting over my cold lol

That picture of Billy and Brooke is beyond adorable! My weekend plans including hopping on a plan tomorrow morning to head to Boston to run the marathon on Monday. I can’t wait!

My car is full of everything I own. It can be very messy in there.

Favorite fast food has to be In N Out :) I have been craving it for months but am still waiting for a special occasion. ha.

Weekend plans include: painting in studio, 10k, explore new trail, a visit in Santa Cruz with friends and gardening the heck out of the backyard. I need my veggies to grow!

I had emergency dates in my bag yesterday. thank god or I would have fainted on my errands.

Have a lovely weekend in So Cal! Enjoy your time with Billy :)

I always have my bag packed with enough snacks to last me if I get stranded and need to eat for days ;) some people have told me it’s good prep for when I’m a mom, but I have friends who tell me that I’m actually gonna be bad at packing snacks for my future children because I’ll wanna eat them all.

This weekend I am taking it easy! It will consist of a long run, sunshine, and homework!

My car is relatively clean…but it could be cleaner. I’ve got all the essentials for a stranding/beach trip in there. Whichever comes first.

I always have food with me. I thought I always had snacks because I am prepared and I don’t want hungry (re: whiny) kids if we are gone somewhere longer than expected. Well, before we left for DC I cleaned all the kids stuff out of my purse. But occasionally through out the trip I would put snacks in there for me cause it is not pretty when I get hungry. Well, they told us no food or drink on the tour of the capitol and I have learned that a lot of people say these things, but what they really mean is no eating while you are there. So I didn’t check my purse. I knew I probably had a fruit leather in there and I always have my water. Any who, I get there, they open my purse and seriously it was like the Mary Poppins bag of food. They pulled out a larabar, 2 fruit leathers, an apple, 2 packages of Biscoff cookies (from the flight), a sucker, and a simple bar, plus my water they had me dump. I laughed, but Ross could not have been more embarrassed. Especially when they told me I had to eat it all before I went in. Even for me that might be a stretch. Luckily I talked them into holding it for me until the private tour was over. Ha!

Have so much fun at the wedding!

Weekend plans: visiting my friend in Missouri for his fraternity formal. I don’t blame you for keeping snacks in the diaper bag. I’d do the same thing if I had a kid. I Kim of do, just in my school and track bags. Gotta be prepared!

Reply

I have at least 6 pairs of shoes in my back seat at all times. No idea why. It just happens. I really like Wendys. Mostly because of the Frostys. My weekend plans involve a long run, lots of time outside and maybe a baseball game.

Reply

I have emergency, emergency food stashes in all my purses. One of my biggest fears is being caught hungry without food so I take extra precautions to make sure it never happens. And it’s in everyone’s best interest – I’m a fright to be around when I’m hungry, so I try to save people from that. Pat on the back for me

I think you need to post baby pix of you and Billy at Brooke’s age.. Wouldn’t that be a cute comparison!!

oh how fun, I LOVE weddings! I’ve got my Chicago Blogger Book Club AND Law school prom tomorrow!!!

That pic of Brooke & Billy. So cute. I love the way she looks at him.

What are your weekend plans?
Hubby and I are going to the OC for a trail run. We’re staying in a hotel. This is super-fun and super-fancy for me. :)

Favorite fast food place?
In-N-Out or Five Guys. Or Chick-fil-A. Maybe Panera. Depends on my mood, I suppose.

Do you have a clean car or a messy/full of everything you own car?
Somewhere in between. I try to keep it clean, but I also have a 9-year-old and a 2-year-old. So…

Do you have emergency food stashes in your purse/diaper bag?
No. But my sister does. We were shopping in TJ Maxx and she randomly pulled out a bag of cookies as I was looking through racks of clothes. It was so unexpected and I was cracking up but she found it perfectly normal.

Have a fun weekend!

Emergency food is a necessity! Got Luna bars in my car :) running with a stroller seems so intense! Good upper body workout too ;)

Reply

I always have a Luna bar (or 2. Ok, maybe 3) in my purse, because I hate getting over hungry! Planning ahead for the win! :)

Reply

Well thank goodness you’re prepared! Swedish fish are a necessity ;) I’m a Subway kinda girl (I LOVE all the add-ins) myself. Have a good weekend!

Reply

Right now, in my purse, I have his and hers snacks stashed – popcorn (his) and a bagel (hers). And I always have generic fruit snacks as well. :-)

Reply

There’s no trash in my car, but the backseat is covered in dog hair. I try to fight it, but it’s a losing battle.

22 miles on dirt trails tomorrow followed by another 10 on Sunday. It’s gonna be a tough weekend!

Reply

The back seat of our Subaru has been taken over by books, toys, crumbs, and all of the other accoutrements that come along with a baby and toddler. Add the dog drool from our Vizsla peeking over to check on the girls and our car is a disaster!

Chick-fil-a is the only fast food I’ll let my toddler eat. I worked at one of the original Dwarf Houses in Georgia as a teenager, so I know the quality of food is much higher than typical fast food places. Plus, it’s super yummy!

I usually pack extra food for my girls when we go out. I want to make sure they always have something healthy to eat, no matter what’s on the kid’s menu. I usually take carrot sticks and whatever fresh fruit we have in the fridge. My diaper bag usually has granola bars for my 3-year-old and puffs for the little one. Road trips require a bagful of snacks for the girls and mom and dad too!

Reply

I have a clean car. It stresses me out to have it messy.

Reply

I am running a 10k on Sunday morning and that’s my mom’s birthday :-). I have a clean car right now…because it’s new. My old car was full of water bottles and exercise clothing.

My favorite fast food…does Subway count?

Have a great trip :-).

Dude – years of traveling across the country for the Army and making drive-thru stops…we always check the bags for everything (including utencils) before we pull away from the drive-thru window. They ALWAYS forget something!!!

Favorite fast food is McDonald’s breakfast menu. They have the BEST if you are in a crunch travelling – their fruit oatmeals is a good “home” food for when you are on the road and need something “normal”.

This weekend – hubs is doing his monthly Utah National Guard stint :) We are thinking of moving to SLC (are in Logan right now) if he can land a full-time Guard job! Keep the fingers crossed! More opportunity in SLC, if we can hope for this!

Take care and hugs from Utah!

Ate Wendy’s tonight. Car is messy. Favorite fast food lately–McDonalds! Their premium wraps are awesome and were on sale for $1.00. Serious!!!

Funny cause I think Brooke looks JUST like yOU!!! :)

okay so idk if this is too personal and i dont mean it in any disrespect/judgement i was just wondering because i have a friend that is lds and it seems like most mormon/lds couples get married very quickly or have really short engagements? i am christian myself and mine wasn’t very long :) but i was just wondering about this?? you can respond in an email if you want… i kind of wanted to ask her about it (she is actually a coworker) but didn’t know if i am crossing a line….so thank YOU! :)

Oh boy do I have secre stashes. I even make it my goal to find other people’s secret stashes, so Brooke and I must have that in common.
I don’t eat fast food, but love Panera Bread Co. Mmm!
My plans for this weekend are a hardcore workout tomorrow and quality family time. Maybe some homework.. We’ll see about that one though :-)

The thing I’m most excited about this weekend is surprise engagement party tomorrow night. There will be about 50 family and friends waiting to celebrate with the happy couple after he pops the question. I’m such a sucker for weddings.

Have fun at the wedding festivities! Such an exciting time for your family.

I don’t own a car…but when I did, it was CLEAN. <—habit learned from my father!

I generally always try to carry some small snacks for emergency hungries – but I've had a little trouble adjusting my "easy snack" habits since moving out of the US. My reliables just aren't part of our usual habit anymore. Need to work on this!

Current favorite fast food: Chipotle (Is that fast food?) In fact, since I'm currently in the US visiting, I must google to see if there's one near where I'm staying, at present. Off to do that now, bye!!!

Brooke is looking at Billy with those big, adoring eyes. Love that!
Strollers have different purposes. A girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do!
I love that salad from Wendy’s.
Weekend plans – run, Shred (darn Jillian!), 3 soccer games for Gabe and carting my boys where they need to go!
