Two birds with one stone.

RUNNERS and BLOGGERS in the Bay Area…. we are having a run and brunch in Palo Alto tomorrow morning at 9:30!!! HERE is the Facebook page with all of the info about the event!!  PLEASE COME:)

Another 10,000 meter rowing workout this morning (I kind of want to go professional) and when I got home Billy left for school and Brooke was still snoozing.  I had the brilliant idea to do some weights until she woke up while watching Boy Meets World which completely distracted me from realizing I was doing weights.

I had two things on my mind:  1.  To take Brooke on a walk  2.  Raisin Bran.  Since I finished off the last box of cereal yesterday I decided that we should just walk to the store to get my delicious cereal.  The BOB has an awesome storage area at the bottom so I decided to get multiple boxes of cereal while I was there.

I also got some grapes so that I could have my absolute favorite combination of foods again.  If you haven’t tried CC with grapes then you should do it now.

I got to talk to my running coach on the phone this morning which was REALLY fun because he taught me how to use the program that we will be using for training.  This program allows you to enter in every single detail of your workouts, I love this kind of stuff.  The program allows him to enter in my detailed workouts and I can enter in what I did and any notes/my meals/how I felt and pretty much anything you can think of relating to training.

The one day that I actually wash my hair and Brooke’s hair (okay, so I wash her hair every day but mine not so much every day) the blow dryer breaks and I am far too lazy to go get a new one.  Looks like we will be air drying our hair until I make it to Target again (aka I am actually excited to have a reason that forces me to go to Target soon).

For your random fact of knowledge today, I read that the average wedding in the US costs $28,500…… HOLY COW!!!

So jealous of the meet up. I wish I was coming!

Boy meets world growing up? I still watch BMW every morning before work. Love abc family.

Reply

Wow that training program looks awesome!! Is it free lol? How cool that you can use it! I love cottage cheese! Especially if you add some black pepper to it :-) Tonight we are surprising my sister in law for her 30th birthday! Should be a good time!

Reply

Did you know Boy Meets World is doing a sequel?? Girl Meets World! With Corey and Topanga coming back! I’m excited to see how it is!!

Reply

Gutted about the meet-up…I have a 3 year old birthday party to go to and then the Oakland expo for Sunday’s race. And I have throat germs to DESTROY today. Any advice?? Have a great meet-up. Next time, def!

Reply

Cathryn- are you doing one of the races at Canyon Meadow on Sunday in Oakland?

Reply

No, it’s the Oakland Marathon (I’m doing the half). Sounds like you’re doing Canyon Meadow? Good luck!

Reply

Oh nice, good luck!

Reply

This coach business sounds like a great idea! Just another step toward your goal of a sub-3 hour marathon – all the more power to you!!

Reply

Grapes and cottage cheese? I’ve never thought of that before! I need to try it!

Reply

That’s an expensive event for one day! Holy cow I don’t think I see that happening for me. But I wish I lived in California! Ahhh I would love to attend an event like that. Super jealous :)

Reply

Our weights are in Susanna’s room which means I lift before or after planks and core sessions while she plays in her bouncy chair, lays on the floor and cutely smiles at me, or sleeps in another room.

Thanks for the BOB storage note. We attempted to get one at REI today, but they were out. Off to order one online and hope it gets here for a birthday present next week!

Reply

Pears and cottage cheese was my favorite until I tried your beloved grapes and CC. Now that is 1st, pears (with cinnamon) and CC is 2nd and pineapple is third.

Yes I do weights at home. For those days when I only had time to do cardio at the gym or for when I was too lazy to get out of bed and go to the gym before Ross went to work.

Boy Meets World was/is great! I totally had a crush on Eric. And secretly wish I had hair as long as Topanga.

Friday night plans include Target, and Lowes to get more paint. We are painting both living rooms and I wish we could get it done quicker because living in this chaos is driving me batty.

I am so jealous of your runners/brunch meet up tomorrow. Perhaps you could just run with a life sized cut out of me and take pictures so it will be JUST like I was there. And TOTALLY not weird at all ;)

Reply

I think we were all jealous of Topanga’s hair! :D

Reply

I’m not sure I ever tried cottage cheese?! I think I’ll have to some time soon!

LOVE Boy Meets World, my roommate and I bought seasons 1-4, which reminds me we still have plenty to watch!

My plans are to try to make butter beer that tastes like the one from Universal Studios! And to get a good night’s sleep before 8 miles (yay new PDR!) tomorrow! :)

Reply

I just researched Boy Meets World with my husband because he’d never seen it!

Reply

When I heard that wedding stat when I started planning my wedding my jaw dropped. That’s nuts! I am sooooo psyched to hear all the running nerdy info from your running coach.

Reply

Holy cow that’s a lot for one day of your life!!!! I miss Boy Meets World! Those days of TV were the best!! and family matters, step by step…so many good ones!

Reply

Boo =( Wish I could make it, but I’ll be a bridesmaid in a wedding tomorrow! Hope you can plan another one! =)

I still watch Boy Meets World. In fact, MTV has had marathons lately on Saturday mornings and it’s my routine to have it playing in the background as I clean the house!

Reply

I love Boy Meets World so much and I’m excited they’re doing a spin off with Cory and Topanga’s daughter…I really hope it’s good and not like a lot of the recent Disney Channel shows

Reply

I haven’t eaten cottage cheese in a long time, but I like it with cucumbers. I LOVE boy meets world. I used to watch it on the treadmills ALL the time because it’s the only thing on television besides infommercials at the crack of dawn. Actually, I just used this excuse when really I just love that show so much.

Reply

Love boy meets world and cc with grapes and I add I dash of cinnamon, so yummy!

Reply

Cottage cheese + greek yogurt + banana slices + berries. I eat that pretty much every single day. LOVE.

xo

Reply

That sounds kinda good. What flavor of yogurt?

Reply

It is SO good!! I love vanilla or strawberry greek yogurt, but any kind will do!

Reply

Thanks for the grape idea, I usually put pineapple in mine. Or I eat cottage cheese with pepper and a side of tomato. I workout at home with weights regularly. Tonight I’m excited, in laws came over and my mom to go see my 9 year olds first school play. Last night we went to her all city choir. We’ve been busy parents this last few weeks but it’s exciting. I miss the baby days though. Brook is so cute.

Reply

I LOVE cottage cheese with crackers or pretzel chips- so good!!

I do weights at home all the time- I love that you were watching Boy Meets World. Didn’t we all want to be Topanga growing up? haha

Score for having an excuse to go to Target! ;)

Reply

Cottage cheese with peaches is out of this world!

Reply

We are going to Mad Men night a the local art museum tonight. Fun times!

Reply

I love cottage cheese!!! I kind of go on kicks where I’m really into it. I like to eat it with pineapple or grapes, peaches, strawberries, basically any fruit. It tastes best with nuts added! I always do weights at home. My friday night plans consists of relaxing, watching Downton Abbey and trying to keep my mind off the fact that I can’t run right now due to running injury :( I’m really depressed….

Reply

Love Boy Meets World! I love that the re-runs are still on. For cottage cheese, I like mine straight up and none of that 2% crap. I need the full on 4% cottage cheese. My family likes putting pineapple on theirs, but it’s too weird for me.

Reply

Sounds like so much fun for tomorrow! Wish I could come! Cali’s a little far away though :(

I love watching shows while I work out. Totally helps distract me from things like weights. And any excuse to go to Target is a wonderful excuse!

Reply

Don’t be offended but I can’t stand cottage cheese. I have been trying to do weights at home….like hand weight stuff but it doesn’t happen nearly as often as it should! Yes I watched Boy Meets World…but I liked Saved by the Bell way better :)!
Friday night plans are BASKETBALL!!!!!!! Yay!!! LOVE March maddness!

I must say $28,500 is crazy nuts expensive! To each is own, I am not judging if anyone spent that, and maybe if I had it I would have too(but I highly doubt, I think I would save it for house, kids ect). It seems silly for people who don’t ahve it to just go out and spend that money and then start their marriage off all stressed about money. We were blessed but didn’t spend anything close to that! The guys wore suits they already had, I borrowed a friends dress, the girls ordered nice dresses but they weren’t expensive and they were dresses they could wear again. We knew the person who took our pictures and did our cake so that was our gifts from them and my mother in law did the flowers…not expensive and we have been very happily married for almost 13 years :). Again no offense if you spent that much, I just don’t think it’s neccessary!

Reply

I used to be really into cottage cheese with chives & onion already added and dipping pretzels into it….I see a trip to the store in my near future, I had completely forgotten this delicious combo.

Reply

That’s insane! Mark and I got married for SO much less than that and had such a beautiful wedding! Confession time: I can’t stand cottage cheese! My mom loves it, but the texture is too weird for me. Boy Meets World was my favorite childhood show, and I don’t know off you’ve heard but they’re doing a sequel with the original cast about Corey and Topanga’s daughter!

Reply

Do you like cottage cheese? What do you eat it with?
I love cottage cheese! But I never buy it because I’m the only one who eats it and it will go bad before I finish it. I usually just eat it alone.

Do you ever do weights at home?
I do, but I can’t say that I’m a huge fan of strength training!

Did you watch Boy Meets World growing up?
Sure did!

What are your Friday night plans?
Being lazy tonight. Probably having a drink and getting comfy on the couch with a movie.

Reply

Super random, but I thought I’d ask…I just took my kids to the Children’s Discovery museum and we’re meeting my husband at his office in San Jose and have dinner together. If you could reccommend ONE restaurant in San Jose for dinner, what would it be? I figured you love food like I do :)

Reply

Hmmmmm tough question!! We haven’t eaten at that many places in San Jose… We go out to eat more in the city or palo alto! What kind of food are you thinking?

Reply

Original Joes is a must

Reply

-love Boy Meets World!
-Friday night here is relaxing and eating homemade chocolate chip cookies :)

Reply

Phewwwww that’s a lot of moolah! Mine is about $11000 and I thought that was alot!

Reply

Love cottage cheese but hate grapes, and I religiously watched BMW on TGIF!

Reply

Running with fellow bloggers sounds great! Enjoy! I’m not a fan of cottage cheese, but I least I do try it every once in a while. I lift weights in my basement all of the time. It sure beats the 30-minute round trip drive to the gym! We’re just chillin’ this weekend…

Reply

I love cottage cheese and eat it everyday. I usually eat it plain, but I LOVE putting it on my baked potatoes, sweet potatoes, or salads. I watch BMW every weekday morning :D It’s fun because they play the entire series and then when they play the final episode, they start over from the beginning again :D So I’ve seen all the episodes like 10,000 times.

Reply

Cottage cheese + chopped up red apple +cinnamon + peanut butter. Excellent.
I do weights about 1/16 as often as I probably should.

Reply

Yum!!! I love cottage cheese. I like to add peaches or strawberries to mine. OF COURSE I watched Boy Meets World. It still makes me laugh today. I love Eric’s obsession with Mr. Feeny.

That wedding statistic is ridiculous! The whole wedding industry seems to inflate costs- I think vendors think they can get away with it since people will rationalize any price for “the perfect day”.

Reply

Ah man, I would have loved to come to your event but my best friend and her fiance are coming to stay all weekend! I have to admit I sort of hoped one of your questions would be “how much did your wedding cost”:) I’m nosy and wanted to read peoples’ answers.
Dinner out with my husband and friends!
SOOO watched boy meets world (if you had asked me my Friday night plans in the 90s that probably would have been the answer)
Try to make myself do weight at home but hate it so much…
And I never get the cottage cheese with fruit thing, I think of it as a savory only food to be eaten with lots of black pepper!

Reply

Cottage cheese is great with crackers and chips, fritos and salt and vinegar chips being my favorite. :)

Reply

I love cottage cheese especially with grapes and cottage cheese. As for weddings I am not sure where you guys live but in NJ that seems pretty normal.

Reply

I love cottage cheese with salt and pepper, spread on a slice of rye toast. Maybe a little bit of smoked salmon, yum….
I’m too old for Boy Meets World, alas, but I do a PowerCut Plus weights class twice a week at the Parks and Rec Department near me -it’s killer!
I need to work on my own blog – I think my max comments were three, LOL! Go, you!

Reply

So to be quite honest, I’ve actually never tried cottage cheese! It’s on my bucket list, but I just haven’t quite managed to do it! I have tried to squeeze in weights at home, but I guess I’m just not cut out for it ;) I have way to many distractions (Bebe’s, Lover, pups, food, you know the likes) hahaha.
Our Friday night is going to be relatively quiet because we have a busy weekend! Saturday we have gymnastics for the girls, gym with the girls, Lover was politely informed by his boss’s wife that she signed him up for a womanless beauty pageant (for a good cause of course) and Sunday we are heading to the banquet for the Shenandoah Valley Runners Winter Series where I get to be honored for getting first in my age group for the series! Woot woot!
BTW- air drying your hair is way better anyway! Makes it so much healthier ;)

Reply

I LOVE cottage cheese with fruit cocktail. I think I watched Boy Meets World last weekend!

Reply

I would so be at that meet up, unfortunately (but more like fortunately) I have a shift at work tomorrow morning. Have fun running in PA :)

I used to do weights at home but when we moved I left them back in the Midwest. I haven’t done weights in a loooong time. I should be better about this.

My favorite way to eat cottage cheese is with fresh cut pineapple.

Reply

I’m really excited to read about how everything goes with your coach! :)
I just had cottage cheese with cantaloupe topped with granola. So delicious!

Reply

I so want to go tomorrow since I’m a runner and a blogger and from the Bay Area. I’m already committed to a class for work. Do you promise to host another?? Or I could host in Morgan Hill!!

Reply

We will have to do another!!!!!

Reply

I’m willing to bet that southern weddings double that cost. They are extravagant!!! I haven’t seen BMW in years. Ummm my Fri had been very blah….family is coming in town tomorrow and the husband and I have been deep cleaning the house.

Reply

I like cottage cheese with goldfish crackers.
It’s strange, isn’t it?
Any reason is a good reason to go to Target!!

Reply

Friday night is date night at our house – so my husband & I went out (OK, across the street) for Indian food, then came back and watched a movie (A Fish Called Wanda, don’t laugh).

I really, really, really want to try/like cottage cheese, but…it has such a weird texture, I can hardly LOOK at it…

Reply

Funny story–way back when my husband was just my boyfriend, he and his roommate would regularly watch Boy Meets World together. So manly!!

Reply

Friday night plans = 10k race on the track with my neon pink arm sleeves :) best way to spend the night!

and i LOVE mixing cottage cheese with cinnamon, banana, pb, and oats and making pancakes on the grittle!

Reply

I’m planning a wedding and its true… So expensive.

But I plan to do it one time and one time only so no buyers remorse here :)

Reply

Not a Cc lover I’m afraid. The texture grosses me out. I now have an insane craving for grapes though thank u very much!! (They r not in season here so they are way too expensive).

Reply

I would love if you would post some of your home weight routines/workouts. I try to do weights at home but need ideas (even basic ones.). Does your coach halve any set workouts for you in regards to strength training?

Friday night – out to dinner with the babies and home to watch either old Mad Men episodes or the Following. Hopefully in bed by 9:30 as my 8 month old likes to wake up at 5 am!

LOVE cottage cheese, but only if it’s the full fat kind and Imwill eat it with anything :-)

Reply

I wish I lived closer! Anyway, I love cottage cheese with fruit. They tease me at work that only old people eat that. Glad to see I’m not alone!

Friday night in bed watching hoarders on Netflix while icing and elevating my foot. I had the Tenex procedure today to get some scar tissue out of my heal. Hopefully it will help me get back to more running with less pain!

Reply

I have 5 pound weights at home that I use for Jillian’s 30 day shred. 5 pounds is enough for that workout!

Love boy meets world. Did you hear about the new show Girl meets World?

Friday night plans – waiting for my brother and his family to arrive from out of town!

Reply

I used to eat cottage cheese and peanut butter every single day. :)

Reply

Yes Please do another!! I’ve got work tomorrow and just about died when I saw you are going to be running literally 15 minutes from my house! I am so sad :(

Reply

I know you’re stretching your itb… But the cause is usually weakness so you’re not treating the source. You need to strengthen your hips ESP glut med. google clams sidelying abduction minster walks bridging w theraband and squats lunges w focus in knee in line w 2nd toe. Oh! Also single leg stance and lateral lunges and step ups. I never wt trained my legs but kept getting injured. We run in a saggital plane so it’s very easy to have weak lateral stabilizing muscles bc runners f
Don’t use that movement. Also don’t forget planks ESP side planks. Ps I’m a pt:)

Reply

Ah I’m planning a wedding and it all adds up so quick!! I’m working my butt off trying to save in different areas.. One great thing is that our venue doesn’t charge a “cake cutting fee” which I think is the SILLIEST fee I’ve ever heard. Oh, you’d like us to serve your cake? That’ll be $2 per serving of the cake so $140-200 extra please ;). I’m going dress shopping next weekend and really hoping the dress I fall in love with isn’t too expensive! BTW math major here and I have to say the screen shots of that running program look SUPER neat, what all do you track??

Reply

Pretzels and cottage cheese are a must for me. I love Boy meets world. In fact, the new show is coming out where Cory and Topanga are married and have a child!

Reply

This is going to sound gross, but I eat my cottage cheese with french dressing. It is soooooo good :) My husband can’t watch me eat the pink-ish bowl of goodness. He says it makes him want to throw up. CC is also great with just black pepper (as a previous poster mentioned).

I’ve been stalking you for a few months now, you crack me up!!! And I am now hooked on fro-yo~ Cake batter, cake pieces, chocolate syrup and strawberries!!!

Reply

I can’t handle the texture of cottage cheese. I’ll just have to take your word for that one. ;)

Love that picture of Brooke. She is such a happy girl!

Reply

I hope you have a great time at the meetup!!

Reply

Training Peaks is my favorite! So much stuff to geek out on :)

Reply

wow. i think our wedding was around 6,000. including a 12 day trip to maui and my dress!

cottage cheese and peaches (fresh is best but canned will work too) = BEST! try it:D

definitely watched boy meets world all growing up. and wonder years with ben savage’s older brother fred.

Reply

Is this running programme easy to use?

Reply

I pretty much never do weights.

Are you psyched for the Boy Meets World spinoff? It almost makes me want to get cable again.

Reply

I am getting married in June and my wedding isn’t costing anywhere near that!
