Everybody else was doing it.

The best part of my new BOB stroller is the ginormous window at the top so I can stare at brooker the entire time.

We went out for an easy 8 miles although no matter what pace you are going at with a jogging stroller, going up hills like the below one is anything but easy.    At one point I felt like we were completely vertical.

On the way home (we drove and parked at the trail) I had to run into Trader Joe’s for some pesto for our dinner tonight.  While I was there EVERYBODY around me was grabbing salads.  Since it was noon and I was hungry I decided that I should celebrate my Birthday Eve with my favorite salad and their PB and J bar.  Best combination ever.

When I got home from the store this beautiful heart was waiting on my door step from my mom.  PS Billy, this does NOT mean that you don’t have to buy me chocolate for Valentines Day just because I now have this heart of goodness…. it won’t even last until Vday so you will be responsible for restocking my chocolate supply.

And since I love going back in time with photos I wanted to include a picture of me and Billy from my first birthday (at my family bday party) together with him.

And now I am going to go cry into my pillow because I miss my nieces and nephew so much:)

I had that pb and j bar last night! I’m thinking they should make a pb honey and banana version! For vday I just want lots of chocolate…

Reply

I totally agree with you… let’s write them a letter to get them to make that version:)

Reply

Didn’t mean to submit yet! Since I have done something everyday in February to show joe how much I truly love him I’m thinking he better come through. Because clearly true love is bribing someone to get what you want haha.

oh my , that last picture is adorable!!

You know, I’m always picturing you and other mother’s running with a stroller – I think that’s incredible and just can’t imagine how hard that would be??!!

I can’t wait for the sales the day after V-day….

Reply

I can’t believe I forgot about the sale vday candy…. I know where I will be early Friday morning:) Have a great day!

Reply

I just got v-day candy in my race packet from Saturday. I need a cute, male, runner Valentine. My run today was 4 miles on the treddy. Although Boise weather isn’t as nice as yours, I should venture outside!

Reply

That is so cool!!! I will be on the lookout for your runner valentine:)

Reply

Tomorrow is my moms bday also!!!

Reply

AHHH That is awesome! Tell her happy bday from me!

Reply

Very cute picture! Sounds like an awesome run. My run today was great (easy and short!) and pretty much my only run this week (though I may sneak some miles in tomorrow) as I am running 26.2 on Sunday. Woot! Getting to spend the weekend in Austin with my boy is awesome enough for me for V-day :)

Reply

That is awesome!!! WAHOOOO I am stoked for your marathon on Sunday, you are going to rock it. Enjoy your time in Austin!

Reply

Happy birthday eve! Today is my son’s bday – he’s 6!
I ate a whole bag of candy hearts and I’m keeping my fingers crossed for chocolate covered strawberries for Valentine’s Day!

Reply

AHHH SIX YEARS OLD!?!?! He is getting so big. I think candy hearts are the only candies that I don’t love so I will send you mine. You better get those chocolate covered strawberries!

Reply

I’ve never tried the PB&J bar before!…I work at an Elementary school and know there will be candy overload here on Thursday!

Reply

YOU HAVE TO TRY IT!!! Hahaha that is one of the many things I miss about being a teacher.

Reply

Happy Birthday Eve, Janae!

I have no doubt your nieces and nephews miss you SO much too. Who else can they eat lots of candy and play games with!?

Reply

Thank you!! Seriously…. they must be going crazy without me:)

Reply

Have I had any Valentines Day candy yet? Baahaha. That is a good one.

I went to the gym to run and all the friggin treadmills were taken and the track was full. I hate this time of year. So I went to the Body Pump class. Almost the same, right? That darn Brooke is so cute. I would probably peek in that window, see her cute face and want to stop so I could play with her instead.

I am now adding yet another thing to my list of things I need to get from TJ – that bar sounds delicous.!

Reply

One of the many reasons I love you… you are in love with candy too:) NOOOOOOOOOOO boo to no running. Good job on going to BP, I miss that class big time. I am sending you the bar.

Reply

It sounds like your BOB is working out really -well for you. I loooove Valentines candy and I have definitely ben eating some for the past few weeks. My run today was hard-ish; 6 mile tempo. Have a great evening!

Reply

6 mile tempo…. that is awesome… and HARD! Way to go!

Reply

i give up chocolate for lent and i didnt realize that started tomorrow, so i told my husband to bring presents early and am planning to consume everything made of chocolate tonight for dinner. so much chocolate to eat, so little time!

Reply

NOOOO chocolate?!? You are a strong woman:) Good call on the chocolate overload tonight to get you through lent!

Reply

Happy birthday eve!! I hope it’s the best one yet!

PS- could you tell me the running app you use for your iPhone? I’m in need of something simple since I am sort of technologically challenged AND so I don’t trip over my feet when I look at it while running (which has happened a lot when I’ve tried to change the song or text.. zero hand-eye coordination over here) :)

Reply

Thank you so much Emily! I actually use a Garmin for my running stats. I track my mileage after my runs on a Map My Run app though. Is that what you mean? HAHAH I do the tripping while texting thing too!

Reply

No run today. And anything with PB is fine although I tend to avoid Valentines Day.

I want some chocolate now. I am not a huge Valentine’s Day person but I do like to take advantage of the day and eat some chocolate. Yum!

Reply

12 miles w/10 x 800s phew… tough but always feel great when I’m done.

Ideal Valentines Day… a nice dinner out with the hubs.

I miss seeing your fam on the blog. Curly is such a cutie :)

Reply

Very Early 4:28am – easy 4 miles! I think I found my new run schedule. It’s super early….

I am looking forward to making homemade pizzas with my boys on Thursday!

No valentines chocolate yet – not sure if there will be any. :(

Reply

Oh nooo!!! I just saw that chocolate in your post so I texted boy right away to get me some valentines day chocolate ASAP (he is at the grocery store now) and I just heard the car pull into the driveway 10 seconds after I sent the text… Nooooooo!!! Now I will be thinking about chocolate all night!!!

Reply

First half of my 3 mile easy run was good..second half dehydration set in (i was ill-prepared) and I was a lil miserable. I’m jealous of your v-day candy..I’m waiting until Friday to buy my valentine’s day candy so that I can get more for less money.

My ideal Valentine’s Day date involves food..and snuggling.

Reply

I did 8 today. Half running in circles through my neighborhood to tire out the dog and the rest on the treadmill. This snow is really cramping my style and not letting me run fun places.

Mike and my Valentine’s date this year is going to be the new Die Hard movie. It’s going to be awesome.

Reply

I had a hard run today and it did not go as well as I had hoped so that made it all the more hard!!! 1 mile warm up, 2 miles steady state, 1 mile speed, 2 miles ss, 1 mile speed, 2 miles ss, 1 mile speed. I added the last speed mile in after doing this same workout last week. I did 8 min, 7:24,7:24,6:40,7:24,7:30,6:36,7:30,7:30 and then I took a break and came back with a 6:30 to finish. I just about died. I am wanting to get faster…without killing myself :)! We go on vacation in April so we save our valentines money and do something special on vacation. And chocolate is a daily must for me so Valentines Day or not…I get chocolate :)! And after a run like today I for sure get chocolate!!!!!
Enjoy your chocolate and Happy Birthday :)

Reply

I love eating chocolate on V-day–makes it even more special ;)

Ours will probably be more low-key, but I’m okay with that! We’ll probably have a nice dinner & maybe watch a movie or give each other massages.

I love that you can see Brooke thru the window–sooo cute!

Reply

Brooke is so cute!! I am surprised you don’t want to stop running and cuddle her every 5 seconds!

Reply

I ran a little over 4 miles today with my dog. Easy pace but lots of hills!

I always treat myself to a box of chocolates the day after v-day…half price means half the calories…right?

Reply

Ahhhh I love that you celebrate your birthday eve with a run and salad and lots of chocolate obviously. Good thing your birthday is right around valentines day. So fitting!

Reply

Blurg, I got some disappointing job-related news at the end of the day. Maybe I should say forget work and have a baby? When I see your adorable pictures of Brooke it seems like a good idea….

In reality I will probably console myself with lots of chocolate. I am thinking about going to try and find that PBJ bar….

Reply

I’m trying to eat fewer sweets, but I may give up on that resolution for valentines day candy. Anything with PB and chocolate in it is fantsatic. Seriously the best combination ever.

Reply

I actually did have some valentine’s Reeses already because my mom gave them to me early. This year my bf and I decided to just get each other cards and maybe do dinner but no gifts or anything crazy. We’re all gifted out after Christmas, his bday and our anniversary! (all within one month of each other)

Reply

Happy birthday girl!! I love those Russell Stover chocolate covered marshmallow hearts and chocolate covered caramels/strawberries. Basically chocolate covered anything. Today I did a speed workout inspired by YOU! It was brutal. Thanks for motivating your readers!

Reply

You look so young in that photo! And Brooke seriously has the best expressions. Does she ever cry?! Haha. Oh, and Happy Birthday Eve!

Reply

My daughter got a goodie bag for Valentines Day at church. I ate it. Oops. She really was too young for some of it though!:)

In my defense, I do share my goodies that I don’t worry about her choking on!

Reply

I am definitely a chocolate person, but today at work I had some Brach’s candy hearts and was surprised how much I liked them! I can’t remember the last time I had those.

Reply

That picture is too cute. Your lunch combo looks wonderful!

Reply

I love anything chocolate but I insist on waiting until the day after vday so I can get twice as much for half the cost ;)

Reply

My run was hard for me;) Double digits AKA 11 miles. It felt great though and was definitely a “I love running” day. Mind you most of my days are like that.. I would want a dinner date and then lots of chocolate while watching re-runs of Scrubs.

Reply

ran 6 miles :) wish i had more time to do more, but i’ll make up for it on thursday and do a 13 miler ;) i’ve had some vday chocolate today, so good!!! i would just want to go get some froyo with the bf and then just relax the rest of the day with him :)

Reply

Ahhhhh she is so cute!!!!!!!!! Brooke seems to top her self daily on cute pictures!

Reply

You are so lucky to have a TJ’s so close. I’m super jealous!

Reply

Ahh she is too darn cute!!!

Reply

No Valentine’s candy yet. Waiting until the big day to splurge. So excited for your birthday tomorrow!!! Weeeeee…….. Oh and yeah, hills are no joke with the stroller. Your BOB is way cooler than mine.

Reply

In my kinesiology class today, we had a timed 1.5 mile run. I was the first girl to finish, so that was pretty cool. I gave it only 85-90% because we have to run it again at the end of the semester and I want to make sure I do way better, haha.

Reply

I looooved my BoB-and the top window is the best thing ever.I logged literally thousands of miles with it between my 2 kids.Brooke is beautiful and your chocolate looks yummy!!What a sweet husband you have.I love all choc of course and I bet we’ll be dipping strawberries where I work tomorrow!!

Reply

My husband sent me chocolate covered strawberries on Friday. :) That’s the only “candy” I’ve had so far. Personally, I’m more excited about my Girl Scout cookies that should be coming in this week than I am about any V-day candy haha! ;)

Reply

No run for me today. Tuesdays are for pilates and ballet. No vday candy yet, we like to get ours on clearance the day after so we can get more :) and we are going to Seattle for our vday!

Reply

My dad is the one I can always count on for a nice big sampler of chocolates and a stuffed animal or two. Love that man :)

Reply

My run was so little compared to yours! I did run in the pouring rain for the first time, and was fully prepared. My shoes are soaked. And I was running in the road, of course on the opposite side with oncoming traffic and got honked at! I was so mad! I may or may not of flipped them off.

Reply

Hi I just started reading your blog! Your daughter is the cutest! I have 3 boys and jus got into running after my last one was born. And I am addicted

Reply

I miss your nieces and nephew!!! And that’s weird because I am just a hungryrunnergirl blog fan girl , but I’ve read it for so long that it makes me sad you don’t live close to them :( That pic is SO cute, and they are so little! Family is everything

Reply

Happy birthday eve!!!! Stroller running is no joke!

Reply

I wouldn’t really call them Valentine’s Day candy (more of a treat) but I bought a Valentine’s Day pack of Vanilla Cupcake Goldfish. They come in the cutest little snack size packs and I can’t get enough!

Reply

I did an easy/slow 3-mile run today to recover from my long (for me, 8) run on Sunday.
I’m a preschool teacher and we have 3 Valentine’s Day parties in the next 2 days–I’m sure I’ll have more candy than I’ll know what to do with!

Reply

8 miles with a stroller?! You’re like supermom!

Reply

I love my BOB too! I haven’t actually run with it yet. It’s been too cold, but I did take it to the outlet mall today and that thing was so easy to maneuver! Multi purposed! I can’t wait to get it out for our first run.

I had some valentines candy on my frozen yogurt today! It made it even better :)

Reply

Everyone is getting a Bob, clearly I need to join the club!

Reply

How is is PBJ chocolate bar??!! I was going to try it once but I chose the cookie butter chocolate bars instead.

Reply

Happy Birthday tomorrow Janae! We are having a Valentine Pajama party with pancakes…i think you would love it. Too bad you aren’t 4 and in Utah. Hope it’s a wonderful day!

Reply

Today was a rest day since I spent the whole night at Longhorn Steakhouse after work by accident oops. I’m not sure about Vday… I like little thoughtful things. One time my (now) husband made me a cute bucket with all of my favorite candies and cut out hearts and decorated it… we were in college and poor and it is to this day my favorite vday gift.

Reply

Oh man I wish there was a Trader Joe’s close to my house! I love that pic of y’all with your niece and nephew – they were so little!

We don’t do gifts for vday – just cards – but I think my ideal date would be a surprise trip (what? is that too much to ask?) or something fun and surprising like rock climbing or paintball or touring a brewery or a picnic. :)

Reply

I had the Pasadena salad for lunch too! It cracks me up that the label on that thing says “serves two.” I never have any problem reaching for dessert after that thing so surely there must be a mistake :)

Reply

Looks like it was such a pretty day for a run!

I haven’t had any candy yet but I am going to be making these heart shaped oreos for my boyfriend (and myself :) for valentines: http://chicandpetite.wordpress.com/2013/02/05/heart-oreos/

Reply

I did 7 treadmill miles and whew! I really think the treadmill is harder.

Reply

7 miles with my running ladies at 6AM at a fast-ish pace. i used to love to pass guys while out on a run… and now, i love to pass anyone while i am pushing my triple. is that mean? i can’t wait for vday to be over because i can not stop eating candy hearts.

Reply

You 3 are so dang cute!! By far, my favorite blog. Happy Birthday :-)

Reply

Brooke looks TOO CUTE in the bob! i love the big window. i think we need to plan another walk day with the new stroller.

also, send me my 10k workout plan!!!

Reply

My run yest was easy miles and same today- just working back into it. Plus its snowing her- yuck!

I dont really love V-Day, showing you love someone should be year round. We usually cook ‘posh tea’ like this year we are having 3 courses one of which is steak :o! (SO made a terrible joke about a 4th course and when I was like ‘?’ made an ‘inter…’ joke. TMI?)

I also dont see the need to limit my candy consumption to one day a year ;-)

Reply

Your relationships make me envious. I can’t seem to get any relationships to stick.

Reply

How do you keep Brooke happy for such long runs in the stroller? I don’t think my little guy has ever tolerated it for more than 30 minutes unless he’s asleep. Do you give her toys? Music? Is it just her genetic love of being out on the trails??

Reply

You look adorable and like such a little babe in that picture! I couldn’t imagine running up hills with a stroller, you are going to be so freaking speedy for races now. I ran 5 miles and it was a confidence booster run. I had my fastest run ever on Saturday so I went out Tuesday with a “just get some miles in and realize this will probably be a bad run” attitude and it ended up being pretty normal and nothing horrible so I was a total happy camper!

Reply

the last photo is adorable!

Reply

That last picture is adorable!

I think it’s great you always take Brooke with you when you go for a run! Can imagine it being tough though!

Reply

Mmmm trader Joe’s is the best isn’t it??

Reply

OMG this picture is precious! :)
