You are going to love this…. GIVEAWAY! Closed!!!!!!

You know you love a product when you come home from your runs and tell (or text) your husband, “THESE (yes, I am screaming because I am so excited) are my new favorite piece of running gear. I seriously do not know how I ever lived without them.”

DSC 5915

JayBird sent me the BLUEBUDS X a little over a month ago and I have been using them on all of my runs (even the treadmill).

DSC 5914

They are wireless headphones that connect to your phone (or any other blue tooth enabled device) via blue tooth. I ALWAYS have my phone with me when I run and so I knew that these would be perfect for me because I hate cords (those darn headphone cords always get stuck in my 4 layers of lip gloss, they always seem to be tangled and get caught on my hands. I can’t tell you how many times my hand has gotten caught on my headphone cord and made my phone or iPod crash to the treadmill belt).

-The sound on these babies are incredible… I like my Britney and Linkin Park to sound good when I am running. I take quality sound while I am running very seriously.

Screen Shot 2013 01 15 at 7 19 21 PM

-It feels like you aren’t even wearing any headphones and you have an awesome surround system of music following you for your entire run. They are super comfortable!

-You can ANSWER phone calls and TALK while you run (built in microphone) which means my mom gets to hear me tell her every aspect of my day even more often.

-They are very user friendly and easy to set up. They come with 3 different sizes of ear tips and 3 different sizes of secure fit ear cushions so that they fit your ear perfectly. They don’t fall out which is one of my biggest pet peeves about normal headphones, these ones stay comfortably secure for your entire run.

DSC 6615

-The controls on the headphones for volume/switching songs/on & off buttons/phone are super easy to use!

-To charge (they lasted me about a weeks worth of runs ((8 hours)) before I needed to charge them) you just stick the USB Cable into the computer.

DSC 6605

The only con that I can think of is that they are a little pricey but if you are a music obsessed runner like I am then they are worth it!

Check out the BLUEBUDS X!!

In case you were wondering about how they handle sweat: “At JayBird, we’re athletes with a passion. A passion for getting products right. We include a LIFETIME WARRANTY Against Sweat across JayBird products.

As a runner, I think music is an important piece of motivation and joy while running. The mood of the song really sets the mood of your run. And to be honest, I really do like an eclectic range of music when I run. When I’m in the move to enjoy the sunset during the run, some jazz and/or lounge-pop is great and relaxing. And when I just need to get outside and I feel like my head is about to explode (you know the days) I love listening to Linkin Park. Yes, like you, I am a fan of Linkin Park….a HUGE fan. If I need a little motivation ever to train, the boys at Linkin Park always get my drive going. When I hear the heart pumping beats from The Catalyst or In My Remains, it just perfectly matches the tempo of my footing! Wow, this has become long. Guess you really hit the spot for something I’m passionate about parallel to my running!

I love running to “Holding out for a Hero” which is totally cheesy 80s and fun!

Reply

My workout music has two very split personalities: Top 40 beats (i.e. Kanye! Katy Perry! Pitbull! JLo! David Guetta!) and Rock (i.e. Linkin Park! Rob Zombie!)

All of the above motivate me to go faster, longer, stronger!

I would so love to win these. Too many times do I hit the headset cord and my iPOD goes flying! So frustrating! Anyway, the music I most love to run to…..showtunes. Everything from Wicked to Chicago to Annie & Aida plus all the Andrew Lloyd Weber musicals. I get lost in the music and the miles go by quickly. If I ever do tire of that music then it’s back to Green Day, Linkin Park, Nine in Nails. LOL. Kind of a big difference in those two, but I love it all :)

I love to listen to upbeat music – I listened to Mackelmore at my marathon three weeks ago. I run with an iPod shuffle, but the battery keeps dying ten miles into my run (womp, womp), so my husband and I were trying to figure out how to use my phone (which is usually in my spibelt) for runs. These would totally solve that problem!

Reply

My favorite type of music to run to is anything upbeat to get me up and GOING!!

Reply

I lamely (or not so much to me) really love to run to Defying Gravity. I feel like I get a huge surge of energy when an inspirational song comes on. I will also sprint anytime “bring me to life” comes on by evanescense (I don’t even like them really). Otherwise I really run to everything. On a 15+ mile run sometimes you need a slow song to calm your mind and relax. I feel like if I only listen to upbeat music I over do it with pace or my mind never gets to rest which to me is the purpose of really long runs…. SO basically everything but especially the Wicked soundtrack…

Reply

In no particular order (after all, I teach English, not math…), here are my TOP 10 REASONS why I should win the JayBird Bluetooth Headphones:
1. Teaching high school English + coaching Cross Country + spending most of my take-home pay on running gear and food = I am too poor to buy these headphones for myself.
2. Winning these headphones would totally win me “cool points” with my Cross Country runners, and this is increasingly hard to do with high schoolers once you have reached (and passed…) the big 3-0.
3. My birthday is January 30. That’s right around the corner, and these headphones would make a SWEET gift. And while 31 is clearly the new 21, winning these headphones for my runs > going out clubbin’.
4. These babies would allow passers-by to revel in my eclectic dance moves while I’m out on the road or trail. I’ve been running sans music for some time now, and I would love to have a reason to return to bustin’ a move for the general public on my runs.
5. I started on a training plan for my second marathon four weeks ago, and I have no doubt that some comfy headphones that I don’t constantly have to adjust will help me reach my goal of a PR in my upcoming race. I finished my first in 3:52 – stupid stress fracture! – and my goal for this race is 3:40.
6. My second marathon is the Country Music Marathon in Nashville. That’s right – I specifically sought out a marathon that promises to provide me with tunes the whole way, yet I have been training without them (due to those aforementioned adjustments that are oh-so-annoying). This is kind of a travesty and could easily be rectified by my winning these headphones.
7. The winter (and sometimes just wet weather) force me to run on the treadmill more than I would like this time of year. My general clumsiness + the threat of pine cones, occasional ice, etc. = an inordinate amount of falling for a grown woman, especially one who runs constantly. I wish I loved pounding out the miles on the treadmill like you seem to, but alas, that is simply not the case. Worse yet, since I don’t have one at home, I am also at the mercy of whatever music happens to playing at the gym when I go. It would be really cool to indulge in my own personal musical choices to make my time on the treadmill more enjoyable.
8. As much as I like the “me” time that running alone allows me, sometimes it would be nice to chat with friends (specifically my best, and unfortunately out of state, ones) while I do so. These headphones would allow me to do just that! Plus, I would love the chance to answer the phone in a very super-cas(ual) manner while running – it would make me feel like a total rockstar on the go.
9. I just started reading your blog about a week ago, and I have already gotten sucked in by your blog’s mix of ultra-adorable family pics, delicious mentions and photos of food (Did I mention that eating is my second favorite hobby behind running? This is why I charge a “food tax” for students when they bring delightful treats into my classroom…), and insights on running. I’d like to be really tough here and say that I’ll stop reading if I don’t win these headphones, but that would be a complete and utter lie. It would still be great if I won them anyway!
10. KillaCatfish. This is the name I have chosen for my possible future as a rap artist (you should really never cancel out any career path). I saw it scrawled in graffiti on a bridge while runnning a few years back, and it’s pretty awesome if I do say so myself. I use it as my name when logging my runs from my Garmin as well – just until a rep from Bad Boy calls me up to start work on my debut album. Obviously….
Well, there you have it! Do I win the headphones now? Please? :)

I end up listening to hardcore music for the last 1/3, MCR and panic at the disco.
One of my favorite songs to run to is “Roll Away Your Stone” by Mumford and Sons!

Wireless headphones would be THE BOMB! I have to hold on to the cord of mine when I run because it is so long and it annoys me -_-

Reply

I love running to music but lately I have been running on the treadmill and watching some awesome shows on Netflix. However, my headphone cord is so short and my treadmill is old so it doesn’t have a place for the ipad so I have it sitting on a really tall concoction that I threw together. I’m always worried its going to pull the ipad onto the treadmill and break it. Tragic! I would love these headphones, that would completely eliminate that problem. :) Thanks
