You know you love a product when you come home from your runs and tell (or text) your husband, “THESE (yes, I am screaming because I am so excited) are my new favorite piece of running gear. I seriously do not know how I ever lived without them.”
JayBird sent me the BLUEBUDS X a little over a month ago and I have been using them on all of my runs (even the treadmill).
They are wireless headphones that connect to your phone (or any other blue tooth enabled device) via blue tooth. I ALWAYS have my phone with me when I run and so I knew that these would be perfect for me because I hate cords (those darn headphone cords always get stuck in my 4 layers of lip gloss, they always seem to be tangled and get caught on my hands. I can’t tell you how many times my hand has gotten caught on my headphone cord and made my phone or iPod crash to the treadmill belt).
-The sound on these babies are incredible… I like my Britney and Linkin Park to sound good when I am running. I take quality sound while I am running very seriously.
-It feels like you aren’t even wearing any headphones and you have an awesome surround system of music following you for your entire run. They are super comfortable!
-You can ANSWER phone calls and TALK while you run (built in microphone) which means my mom gets to hear me tell her every aspect of my day even more often.
-They are very user friendly and easy to set up. They come with 3 different sizes of ear tips and 3 different sizes of secure fit ear cushions so that they fit your ear perfectly. They don’t fall out which is one of my biggest pet peeves about normal headphones, these ones stay comfortably secure for your entire run.
-The controls on the headphones for volume/switching songs/on & off buttons/phone are super easy to use!
-To charge (they lasted me about a weeks worth of runs ((8 hours)) before I needed to charge them) you just stick the USB Cable into the computer.
The only con that I can think of is that they are a little pricey but if you are a music obsessed runner like I am then they are worth it!
Check out the BLUEBUDS X!!
In case you were wondering about how they handle sweat: “At JayBird, we’re athletes with a passion. A passion for getting products right. We include a LIFETIME WARRANTY Against Sweat across JayBird products.

I love running to old school stuff, right now my favorite song to run to is “Say My Name” by Destiny’s Child.
One of my favorite songs to run to is Tightrope by WALK THE MOON.
I tweeted about this giveaway.
I think I’m in the minority, but I rarely listen to music when I run. If I listen to anything, it’s going to be upbeat and fast!
I tweeted about the giveaway! (@kalynn5)
One of my favorite songs to run to is California Girls by Katy Perry and Snoop Dogg. It always gets me pumped in the middle of a run because well I’m a California girl.
Hey I love jaybird products and I would love to have one since I love to exercise and run every morning and I love music.
My current favorite Music is, Ho Hey huglife remix
I tweeted about this give away BTW :D
As a runner, I think music is an important piece of motivation and joy while running. The mood of the song really sets the mood of your run. And to be honest, I really do like an eclectic range of music when I run. When I’m in the move to enjoy the sunset during the run, some jazz and/or lounge-pop is great and relaxing. And when I just need to get outside and I feel like my head is about to explode (you know the days) I love listening to Linkin Park. Yes, like you, I am a fan of Linkin Park….a HUGE fan. If I need a little motivation ever to train, the boys at Linkin Park always get my drive going. When I hear the heart pumping beats from The Catalyst or In My Remains, it just perfectly matches the tempo of my footing! Wow, this has become long. Guess you really hit the spot for something I’m passionate about parallel to my running!
I just tweeted about your review of the Bluebuds!
I love running to “Holding out for a Hero” which is totally cheesy 80s and fun!
My workout music has two very split personalities: Top 40 beats (i.e. Kanye! Katy Perry! Pitbull! JLo! David Guetta!) and Rock (i.e. Linkin Park! Rob Zombie!)
All of the above motivate me to go faster, longer, stronger!
Hi! It may sound wierd but I love listening to country while I run! It just makes me feel so happy. I would love these headphones, I ALWAYS rip my earbuds out while running/working out.
I always run in the Apple earbuds and they’re always dying on me! I need to branch out and try sport specific earbuds.
I like anything with a good beat that makes me appear (in my head) faster. A song that comes to mind is Thunderstruck…gets me all pumped
I Love “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen, which sounds kind of weird, but trust me, it will get you goin’!
Love to run to my pandora station..lots of random songs!
I would love to win these, I hate my headphones with a passions (they are always falling out).
I would so love to win these. Too many times do I hit the headset cord and my iPOD goes flying! So frustrating! Anyway, the music I most love to run to…..showtunes. Everything from Wicked to Chicago to Annie & Aida plus all the Andrew Lloyd Weber musicals. I get lost in the music and the miles go by quickly. If I ever do tire of that music then it’s back to Green Day, Linkin Park, Nine in Nails. LOL. Kind of a big difference in those two, but I love it all :)
whodini-freaks come out at night
‘Ello! I love running to dance or pop on my ipod. Recently, I’ve loved running to Nsync (didn’t hate!) and “It’s Tearin Up My Heart”. Adds done pep to my step. Though, I do love some Led Zeppelin on a run as well!
Tweeted it. http://www.twitter.com/lindseybritner
I love any music with a good beat. Half the time I don’t even listen to the words if the song makes me move. One of my favorite songs to actually listen to however, is “Dog Days Are Over” by Florence and the Machine!
Country! Weird I know,, but anything else makes me run faster than I can, and I wear myself out way to early..
Anne Marie @ Rocky Road Running
I love running to Calvin Harris when I run!
Anne Marie @ Rocky Road Running
*listening to! :-)
Cinnamon @ eatpraytri
Anything with a fast beat, like techno or something. Gets me going every time!! I would love to have some wireless….I LOATHE cords!!
I love to run to PINK, I really only like her stuff when I run or workout. I am really into her Song called “Try” right now. I NEED to run to music or I can’t run for long. I hate when I am running and my hands get caught up in my headphone cord. These look awesome!
Teresa @ www.fitinwoodbine.com
I have to run with music!!! Even at the gym on the treadmill. My headphones have been bothering me for a while now!! I have been telling myself to look into getting a different pair!! These look awesome!!
Stronger by Kanye West. It always motivates me to keep going.
I love your blog AND your giveaways! I love running to dubstep! That quirky electronic music really gets my adrenaline going. I love it. Thanks!!
I facebooked this! Thanks!!!
I find “I’m Every Woman”—either version, Whitney or Chaka Khan pumps me up for my runs. I feel like I am accomplish anything! Runner up would be “I will Survive” by Gloria Gaynor! You gotta love the 70’s!
I just started running with an iPod. Seriously can’t believe what I’ve been missing out on! Thanks for asking everyone what their favorite song is, I need to build my playlist :-)
I facebooked my friends about your site and contest.
Run to all different types of music but mostly classic rock!
I love running to upbeat music, typically Top 40 songs. Those headphones look awesome!
I run to any music that I enjoy listening to! My husband is constantly picking on me for the fact that I run to slow songs as well as upbeat stuff! I just listen to what I like! I would LOVE to try these headphones! They look so cool!
My all time favorite running song is “Pump It” by the Black Eyed Peas. And I bet it would sound AWESOME through these headphones!!
I also tweeted about it. I’m megash113 :)
I would love to win these!! One of my go-to workout songs right now is Wavin’ Flag by K’naan. Always pumps me up!
What an awesome product! I need these to run on my treadmill, otherwise it’s SOO boring!
I love anything by The Format!!
What a great giveaway! I haven’t found earbuds that feel like they aren’t going to fall out so I don’t listen to music much right now when I run but I like a big variety!
Ugh I need these, I’m currently running with over the head ones which get all sweaty and the cords wrap when I run!! I listen to Pandora so it’s all different types! Bye
I love running to the workout mix on Pandora! And would love the headphones :)
Old school…. Britney, N’Sync, Destiny’s Child, No Doubt and Mariah Carey with a little Lady Gaga and Katy Perry mixed in. I need fast paced music. The headphones would be perfect for my long runs… i usually get tangled up in the cords
The best song to run to Sail-Awolnation. I want them because they will be one of the best tools in my workout.
I just tweeted and v posted to fb
I just tweeted and posted to fb
I would totally love some wireless headphones. I hate getting all tangled up and discombobulated when I’m working out. Would love to win!
I love to listen to upbeat music – I listened to Mackelmore at my marathon three weeks ago. I run with an iPod shuffle, but the battery keeps dying ten miles into my run (womp, womp), so my husband and I were trying to figure out how to use my phone (which is usually in my spibelt) for runs. These would totally solve that problem!
“Don’t Miss It” by Francesca Battistelli is always on repeat! haha
I want music while I run but I hate cords hitting my face and those silly iPod earbuds fall out within the first 5 min. It sounds like these Jaybirds would fix both of my complaints!
I love to listen to anything with a beat, mainly hip hop. If I find a song I like with a certain cadence I am trying to hit, I will put that song on replay for however long I need it.
I love listening to anything Imagine Dragons(:
I love running to Britney spears
I love the song “extraordinary” by liz phair, one of my favorites when running.
I like to put all my music on shuffle. I have a ton of different types from musicals to pop/hip hop and country. I love it all, there’s something about that perfect song that comes on when you’re struggling during a run that makes music necessary.
Shared this with my gym buddies over Facebook and Twitter :)
As for working out tunes, for me, nothing gets my endorphins pumping like fresh Hip Hop tracks which sample all kinds of music. Kanye West does it all the time, try Stronger – it gets the job done…
All different kinds of music! Sometimes I listen on repeat if I love a song.
The JayBird Bluetooth Headphones would be an awesome win because I just can’t find the right headphone for my long runs. Would be a nice addition for my first half marathon in March!
I can’t run after 5 knee surgeries, but I love to elliptical to Broadway Numbers! Like the entire Wicked Soundtract :-)
I facebooked about your giveaway
I love upbeat, fast-paced songs that make me run faster! My favorite right now is Whistle! I have a pretty random assortment of songs on my running playlist! These headphones would be so amazing!
I would absolutely LOVE to have some wireless headphones! Mine always whip me in the face while Im running :) I got this new app called FIT Radio…it is pretty much Pandora but every song has the beat turned up and mixed with other songs! GREAT for working out! Also sent this out on facebook and twitter!
My favorite song to run to is not a song but my ipad. I love watching Mad Men while I run on the mill.
I want to win these because my headphones NEVER stay in!! These would be awesome
I LOVE running to the Pitch Perfect soundtrack. Just gets me pumped up!! Would love some wireless headphones :-)
I like to listen to angry music when I run which is weird because I’m a really happy person and I really enjoy running. For some reason it just gets me going. Would love to win these headphones! I have had many tripping accidents after getting my hands caught up in the headphone wires running on treadmills
I typically run to top 40 songs!
I Can Change by LCD Soundsystem can always get my big butt off the couch!
My favorite music to run to is Top 40. I understand that I sound like a total tool for being a 29-year-old who loves to run to Justin Beiber, but its the truth.
I love running to mixes from rockmyrun.com; I have music ADD and love that the songs change about halfway through!
I love listen to real fast pace music while working out. It just keeps me going strong all the way through. Would love to win these headphones! Nothing worse than losing momentum because you got caught up in headphone wire, again ; ).
and I just shared about the Jaybird giveaway on FaceBook!
Alex @ Healthy Life Happy Wife
My favorite type of music to run to is house music! It definitely pumps me up!
I love running to pop music it gets me moving, and these would mean no more headphones thrown to the ground or phone when running.
I am all over the place with my running music! It really depends on my mood. Though on my long runs, I love to listen to podcasts of Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me! from NPR. :)
My favorite type of music to run to is anything upbeat to get me up and GOING!!
I lamely (or not so much to me) really love to run to Defying Gravity. I feel like I get a huge surge of energy when an inspirational song comes on. I will also sprint anytime “bring me to life” comes on by evanescense (I don’t even like them really). Otherwise I really run to everything. On a 15+ mile run sometimes you need a slow song to calm your mind and relax. I feel like if I only listen to upbeat music I over do it with pace or my mind never gets to rest which to me is the purpose of really long runs…. SO basically everything but especially the Wicked soundtrack…
I love listening to up beat dance music, sometimes it gets me in trouble when I start trying to dance on the treadmill haha!
I like to listen to any music that will motivate me for that day. Especially artists from the 70’s from Classic Rock genre.
I love listening to Pump It by the black eyed peas, it makes me want to run fast!
Jason Mraz, Beautiful Mess!
My hand keeps on hitting the headphone cables and dropping my iPod ):
Would love some to keep me running!
Any fast, upbeat, country song, I love to run too!! And I need these because I also hate cords!
I like anything up beat, and knowing the words is a must!
I dont listen to music while i run but i do if im going for a walk.
I would love these earphones. I teach spinning too and love to ride and get lost on the music. – no cord tangles would be such a plus! After reading your blog I have started running more and did my first 1/2 marathon — looking forward to more! The best music to run and workout to has a great beat and lyrics that make you feel empowered!
I like running to up beat pop songs or to angry rock songs that make me want to punch running in the face! :)
My favorite song to run to is anything by 30 Seconds to Mars.
I like to run to lots of kinds of music, but right now I am on a country music kick! A song that fires me up when I run is Bulletproof – not country and I forget who sings it and I love it. Woohoo!
Anything that has a good beat :)
I love listening to pop music, like lady gaga & Justin bieber! Things I couldn’t get into in the car, but pump me up on the treadmill!
I tweeted about the giveaway
I love listening to Top 40, pop music because I tend to sync my strides with the beat :)
I like to jam to hard rock (ACDC “Black In Black) while I workout.
I posted the link for the giveaway on facebook.
Favorite Song: Titanium
I’m desperately in need of new head phones! (shout out to my cats for chewing the chord to my current pair).
I typically run to Pandora and will play Britney Spears, Calvin Harris, or The Hundred in The Hands. It HAS to be upbeat!
I don’t have a favorite type of music to run to ~ my running playlist is all over the board, but my all time favorite song to run to is Eminem’s “Lose Yourself”. I just started training for my first full marathon so I have many miles ahead of me and could use some fabulous new headphones to help me through my journey.
I also just posted about your giveaway on my Facebook page
I read your blog everyday (sometimes twice a day), but today after I ran 5 MILES for the first time EVER, I thought about you and how nice it would be to run with the BLUEBUDS X instead of the hard plastic ones that I have to constantly adjust.
BTW my I’m running my first 10K on February 16th.
I posted your giveaway on FB because I have lots of teacher friends that I am starting to run with.
The best running music is no doubt from rockmyrun.com. You really need to check out the site, they have mixes and you can choose genre, tempo, or duration to match your music to the type of run.
My favorite music to run to are music from imaging dragons and parachute. I would love these because my headphones always fall out when i run.
I need headphones so bad! My kids keep taking mine.
And I just tweeted for the xtra entry
Rihanna. When she sings, I run!!
Shared on Facebook!
Run Jilly Bean
I run to everything from rap to country. Keeping it mixed up is the key to a difficult run.
Run Jilly Bean
Run Jilly Bean
Don’t see my first post, so trying again. I run listening to anything from rap to country. I love a wide-range to keep me guessing and motivated.
Those look awesome! I love Jay Z or Kanye to run to, anything hip hoppy.
Country is my fave, but there’s bits and pieces of other stuff mixed into my workout mix.
I love some total rage music. One of my most favorites right now is a song called Push Em by Travis Barker & Yelawolf.
I tweeted too (@bethanndonnelly)
Eye of the tiger, baby! Seriously, I don’t have a favorite song when I run because I am just starting out. However, I know these would make working out so much better.
I love to run to Skillet and always knock the cable off my iPod! these would be amazing!! :D Mandy
I would loveeee some bluetooth headphones. I’m always the girl in the gym that ends up slamming her iphone down on the treadmill when her arms get in the way. My phone has enough cracks already…it can’t take the falls anymore!
The Final Countdown!
Music gets me going! Love progressive music, my legs get intune with the beat. Love the sound. Hate the cords!
I like to run to anything peppy and upbeat: pop, rap, country, whatever!
I love to run to hip hop music and country! Love Jason Aldean!
old school – blink 182 has great beats to run to!
If I am going long and slow and can focus on the music… always christian music. If I need something to get me going for intervals, I pick my favorite song of the time (usually hip hop) and pandora it!
I also shared giveaway on facebook :-)
I love listening to Britney when I run, she’s the BEST!
I posted on FB!
I’m ashamed to admit that I love running to Kesha…it’s so upbeat and it keeps me going :)
I have to run to high energy music! so Pitbull, ke$ha, lady gaga….you get the idea ;)
In no particular order (after all, I teach English, not math…), here are my TOP 10 REASONS why I should win the JayBird Bluetooth Headphones:
1. Teaching high school English + coaching Cross Country + spending most of my take-home pay on running gear and food = I am too poor to buy these headphones for myself.
2. Winning these headphones would totally win me “cool points” with my Cross Country runners, and this is increasingly hard to do with high schoolers once you have reached (and passed…) the big 3-0.
3. My birthday is January 30. That’s right around the corner, and these headphones would make a SWEET gift. And while 31 is clearly the new 21, winning these headphones for my runs > going out clubbin’.
4. These babies would allow passers-by to revel in my eclectic dance moves while I’m out on the road or trail. I’ve been running sans music for some time now, and I would love to have a reason to return to bustin’ a move for the general public on my runs.
5. I started on a training plan for my second marathon four weeks ago, and I have no doubt that some comfy headphones that I don’t constantly have to adjust will help me reach my goal of a PR in my upcoming race. I finished my first in 3:52 – stupid stress fracture! – and my goal for this race is 3:40.
6. My second marathon is the Country Music Marathon in Nashville. That’s right – I specifically sought out a marathon that promises to provide me with tunes the whole way, yet I have been training without them (due to those aforementioned adjustments that are oh-so-annoying). This is kind of a travesty and could easily be rectified by my winning these headphones.
7. The winter (and sometimes just wet weather) force me to run on the treadmill more than I would like this time of year. My general clumsiness + the threat of pine cones, occasional ice, etc. = an inordinate amount of falling for a grown woman, especially one who runs constantly. I wish I loved pounding out the miles on the treadmill like you seem to, but alas, that is simply not the case. Worse yet, since I don’t have one at home, I am also at the mercy of whatever music happens to playing at the gym when I go. It would be really cool to indulge in my own personal musical choices to make my time on the treadmill more enjoyable.
8. As much as I like the “me” time that running alone allows me, sometimes it would be nice to chat with friends (specifically my best, and unfortunately out of state, ones) while I do so. These headphones would allow me to do just that! Plus, I would love the chance to answer the phone in a very super-cas(ual) manner while running – it would make me feel like a total rockstar on the go.
9. I just started reading your blog about a week ago, and I have already gotten sucked in by your blog’s mix of ultra-adorable family pics, delicious mentions and photos of food (Did I mention that eating is my second favorite hobby behind running? This is why I charge a “food tax” for students when they bring delightful treats into my classroom…), and insights on running. I’d like to be really tough here and say that I’ll stop reading if I don’t win these headphones, but that would be a complete and utter lie. It would still be great if I won them anyway!
10. KillaCatfish. This is the name I have chosen for my possible future as a rap artist (you should really never cancel out any career path). I saw it scrawled in graffiti on a bridge while runnning a few years back, and it’s pretty awesome if I do say so myself. I use it as my name when logging my runs from my Garmin as well – just until a rep from Bad Boy calls me up to start work on my debut album. Obviously….
Well, there you have it! Do I win the headphones now? Please? :)
AND I just posted the offer to FaceBook as well…. Score!
One of my favorite songs is Justin Timberlake – Sexyback (and I am so stoked he is dropping a new album this year)! I am really intrigued by these Bluebuds!
These sound awesome. I love walking/running to anything with a good beat, but Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, and Britney seem to be my go-tos!
Get though This by Art of Dying- favorite running song. ever.
I hate wires! I am too much of a klutz and always seem to get stuck on them when working out, these would be perfect for a klutz like me!
I love running to ‘All This Beauty’ by The Weepies- it’s one of those happy go lucky life is so beautiful songs.
My favorite music to run to differs throughout the run. I start of with mellow music, like the Lumineers or Jack Johnson for the first 1/3, then switch to upbeat, pop music, like Maroon 5, Neon Trees for the next 1/3. I end up listening to hardcore music for the last 1/3, MCR and panic at the disco.
One of my favorite songs to run to is “Roll Away Your Stone” by Mumford and Sons!
I came on here to enter the giveaway but just read through Cat’s reasons and I think she deserves it more than I do!
I love listening to some hip hop , pumps me up ! I have headphones from like 1976,/
So that’s why I want to win these ! :)
Wireless headphones would be THE BOMB! I have to hold on to the cord of mine when I run because it is so long and it annoys me -_-
I love running to music but lately I have been running on the treadmill and watching some awesome shows on Netflix. However, my headphone cord is so short and my treadmill is old so it doesn’t have a place for the ipad so I have it sitting on a really tall concoction that I threw together. I’m always worried its going to pull the ipad onto the treadmill and break it. Tragic! I would love these headphones, that would completely eliminate that problem. :) Thanks
