Decisions, Decisions.

I went to Costco yesterday for something other than food.  I went because we get all of Brooke’s pajamas there and she is is need of some new ones because she just keeps growing;)  I was outraged while I was there because I saw THE PERFECT shirt for her but the smallest size that they had was 18 months.  Rude.

My mission is to find a shirt that tells everyone that we are BFF’s.

Just because I didn’t find the PJ’s or a shirt that fit her didn’t mean that I couldn’t walk around and eat all of the sample (this is a great time of year to go for Costco samples because they have every Super Bowl food you can imagine to try).

Billy had to stay at school until super late so Brooke and I did cool things like watch a video that Chelsa sent about Galen Rupp.  He ran a race (1 mile in 3:50) and then after the race he did a 4 mile tempo run (in 18:41) along with some more sprints.  Incredible.

The best part about the movie is at the end of the workout… do you see the yellow bag he is holding?  Those are Swedish Fish.  I knew I was onto something with my candy consumption.

When B finally got home we ate meatloaf, baked potatoes and a spinach salad. For the meatloaf I used THIS recipe.

Since it is impossible to make meatloaf look pretty… I put it in the background of the picture.

Now I have a VERY important question to ask you.  My friends and I take our Super Bowl foods very seriously.  I do not want to lose friends by making the wrong decision on which treat to bring.  SOOOOO…. pretend like it is Sunday and you just got to a party, which dessert would you be happier to see:

A) THESE seven layer bars (7 layers= graham cracker crust, chopped walnuts, semi-sweet chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, shredded coconut, sweetened condensed milk).

Seven layer bars main

B)  THESE salted caramel brownie cookies.

C.  Make both so that I can make more friends.

D.  Other:  please include link.

Which one should I make?!?

Have you ever ran a race and then continued your workout and did more running after the race?

What is your most common post race/hard workout food?

Last green food that you ate?

-Spinach.

Thanks to you, I now know that BJ’s has baby clothes!I never knew until you mentioned your Mom bought Brooke some pj’s from Costco back in December. Then I went to BJ’s to check…and there they were…and SO MUCH cheaper. So thanks Janae :D

1. I say both, but I am pregnant so I want to eat everything!

2. Yes, I have run a race and ran more before and after. I wanted to run a 10 mile race, but I needed to get a 20 milers on the books, so I ran 6 easy before, ran the race, then ran 5 easy with my hubs and dog after. It was actually one of the best long runs I’ve ever had!

3. I love Swedish fish and gummy life savers. After a really hard workout, I sometimes make a protein smoothie with berries.

4. Last green food I ate…. I ate broccoli yesterday. Now I will a green peanut butter M&M.

Make both! Yummy!!

My favorite post race hardworkout food is either a homemade smoothie (some combtination of berries, bananas, greek yogurt, almond milk, ground flax and Vanilla Whey) or a Latte depending on weather and/or how much caffeine I have already had in the day.

I have never ran after a race, but last year while training for my first full marathon I ran a half after running 5 miles because my training plan called for 18 miles that day :-)

The last green thing I ate was arugula on chicken sliders that my boyfriend made.

BOTH! :)

Reply

BOTH!! That way, you can have lots of friends – and more to try yourself!

Also, you’re the girl who likes it when your friends order different things at restaurants from you and share….so, this way, you have MULTIPLE dessert options. :)

Reply

Make them both!!!

If I were choosing between the two I would say A, but for some reason I am craving lemon bars right now! So I say lemon bars.

I am currently eating romaine lettuce, but last night I had pesto sauce. Does that count?

I’ve said it before, Brooke is the cutest baby ever, but I must ask….does she ever cry? You always take such great pic’s of her, but really from one mother to another…when does she cry?

Reply

She does cry but only really when she is hungry or tired. We lucked out somehow and she is generally happy!

Reply

Definitely A! Anything with sweetened condensed milk would be at the top of my list. Although you can’t go wrong with both. I would love to work for Carter’s and constantly dream up new things to put on baby shirts and PJ’s.

Reply

Definitely seven layer cookies. My mom makes those every year at christmas and they are delicious!!!!!!!

Reply

BOTH…which is what I am going to have to do now that I have seen them! :-)

Reply

Definitely the salted caramel brownie cookies!

Definitely B!!!!

Definitely C !!

That shirt is super cute! Too bad they didn’t have a smaller size for Brooke. :(

Caramel brownie cookies.

And, yes, I’ve run after a race as part of workout to get ready for another race. But, I didn’t run a 3:50 mile. So.

Reply

Both! I could see the girls going more for the 7 layer bars and the men man handling the cookies a tad more. =)
I’ve continued on twice after 5k’s that I’ve ran only because I needed to get my long run in for my marathon training.
I made a great chopped spinach salad last night with my fabulous mezzaluna!!
As for must have post race/hard workout food……BEER!

I just got that shirt for my niece the other day. So cute!

The bars, they look so good. I’m also trying to figure out what snack to make. Either sweet and spicy popcorn or cookies?????? I just had some spinach with lunch and to get my hubby into eating greens I’ve been making spinach, banana smoothies for b-fast…made with a regular blender and filtered water.

Make them both!!!

Okay, first of all, Brooke is so cute! She is not doing anything to help my baby fever :)

Second of all, the 7 layer bars are called “crack” bars around our house because they are so addicting. Make them! You will not regret it!

Third, I have made the salted caramel brownie cookies before and they are so so so so good it’s crazy. Make those too, you will be so happy that you did.

So, I guess my answer is C :)

BBBBBB!!!!!! looks AMAAAZING!!!

Most definitely C and maybe a third one! ;)

Hi friend! I miss you. I vote both, but if you have time for only one, I’d say the salted caramel cookies. Wow, they look divine! Last thing I had was spinach too, we’re twinners! Oh, and our little girl has that same zebra pj as Brooke. Double twinners…

Reply

Oh my MIL makes those 7 layer bars. They are awesome and FYI we always take home a batch and put them in the freezer. They are super delicious frozen. It is like eating a ice cream candy bar.
The salted caramel brownie cookies are calling my name! They look amazing. I think you should make both and send me one of the brownies to try :)

I had spinach today for lunch too.

Post race food, BBQ!

B. For sure. Nuts do not belong in any baked goods. Ever. Ever. Brownies and caramel together, on the other hand? Yes.

Reply

Those both look amazing, but my #1 favorite dessert for that type of thing is these chocoate chip cookie dough brownies: http://www.browneyedbaker.com/2011/07/21/chocolate-chip-cookie-dough-brownies/

With chocolate chip cookie dough and brownies, you can’t go wrong!!

Reply

Salted caramel brownie cookies. Why not mix it up and makes some peanut butter brownie cookies? Xxx

I am a spinach freak. My dad said to me the other day, “You sure do eat a lot of spinach. Who are you, Popeye?!” haha oh, silly dad. But, really, I do eat a lot of the green stuff… As for the desserts, that first one? The bars with like everything in them? YES.

My vote would be Monster Cookie Dough Dip : http://www.the-girl-who-ate-everything.com/2012/05/monster-cookie-dough-dip.html

It had been a hit at EVERY football party I have attended this year!
