My strength workout.

Strength training workout for 1/27/12:

Carrying Brooke’s ridiculously heavy carseat in one arm and two weeks worth of groceries and my bag in the other arm. I will experience major DOMS after that workout.

I stuck to my shopping list perfectly except for one item. That one item was my favorite cereal growing up. I think they may even take the place of Frosted Mini Wheats in my life for a few months. PS YOU HAVE to get the cinnamon variety if you are going to buy life cereal. What would you do without the advice that I give you everyday?

DSC 7192

I talked a little bit about the Super Bowl yesterday but forgot to mention who we are routing for. Billy bought a 3 pack of 49ers onesies for Brooke to wear this week. He really likes to watch football with her. (I am mainly cheering for the 49ers but I would be happy if the Ravens won also because a friend from high school ((Kruger)) is on that team)

This dinner is a definite keeper for the rotation of meals we eat from now on. Our club sandwich had grilled chicken, bacon, lettuce and tomato with grilled pineapple and steamed carrots on the side.

Loved THIS interview with Deena Kastor, I sure hope she wins the LA Marathon….

Screen Shot 2013 01 28 at 9 19 01 PM

Anyone else notice that she is wearing the green Garmin 10, we are twinners.

PS The LA Marathon is definitely on my marathon bucket list (along with 52 other ones… you think I am kidding ((Billy wishes I was kidding)) but I am not).

Tell me 2 races that are on your race bucket list?!? Who has ran the LA Marathon?

Favorite cereal from when you were a kid?

-Life and Lucky Charms.

Do you make a grocery list for when you go to the store or not? Do you stick to your list?

Who else uses the Garmin 10? Thoughts on the watch?

Aww even though I’m not a football fan in the slightest I’ll root for the 49ers, just for Brooke :) I have the NYC Marathon on my bucket list and I think I’d also like to try out Big Sur, I heard its beautiful and I’m a sucker for pretty scenery!

Lucky Charms. Leaving all the marshmallows until the end.

Reply

That’s enough of a strength workout for me! I was a total sucker for cheerios as a kid. My mom deprived me of the good kinds so now I know nothing else. My bucket list: BOSTON. And a disney race. First I have to run a marathon though…

Reply

Love that Life cereal! Also reeses puffs and nesquick were where it’s at back in the day! I used to eat (at least) 2 bowls haha. Yes I definitely make a list… and usually find a few more impulse buys I of course can’t live without. Happy Tuesday!

Reply

We usually buy the same stuff at the grocery store every week, so we don’t really make a list.

I used to LOVE Life cereal and Chex when I was a kid.

Reply

Marathon bucket list- New York City and Nike Women’s in San Francisco ( or maybe one somewhere tropical so I could lay on the beach after!)

I never make a shopping list and I always forget important things and get things I don’t need!! Maybe I should start making lists…

Reply

so many good questions!!!

two marathons on my bucket list are chicago and eugene… neither will probably happen this year but that’s ok!

i usually jot down a few ‘essentials’ but like to leave my grocery lists open ended and room to explore :)

Reply

I make my grocery list in order of where things are in the store so I don’t have to backtrack. I almost always stick to it unless something I would normally buy is on super sale or if I see something super delicious that cannot be passed up!

Reply

I always make a list! If I don’t, I end up forgetting something. I don’t have a bucket list of marathons, but I’d like to do New York after I run one in PA this spring and in VA this fall. So many races, so little time! :)

Reply

I ran LA in 2010 – the first year they re-routed the course – which is actually VERY cool, and if you aren’t dying from running a marathon, passes a lot of iconic LA spots.

There were some organizational issues, but I chalked them up to a new course/first time thing – a friend ran last year, PR’d, and so obviously thought it was fantastic. :)

I definitely make a list. Except I do it on my phone. And I’m at the store every day anyway (everything gets hand carried home, since we have no car)…

Reply

My two bucket list marathons are the Warsaw Marathon (in Poland, my husband has family over there) and the Nike Women’s in San Fran.

Fave cereal was something called Triples. It’s no longer around as far as I know.

We don’t write out a grocery list. We just circle what we want that’s in the sale paper for the store we always shop at.

Reply

I LOVE CINNAMON LIFE. BUT my new favorite is CINNAMON OATMEAL SQUARES! I feel like they are just like Life- but 3D!

I’m training for the Rock n Roll Marathon in DC right now but haven’t thought about any more beyond that!

Have a wonderful day!!

Reply

I’m all about Lucky Charms now and as a kid. My bucket list race is an international marathon. I think it’d be awesome run run by the Effiel tower :)

Reply

I love Life cereal!! So tasty. I normally go with a list but buy other things that catch my attention. I’m trying to work on that since our grocery bills are definitely too high!

Reply

I count grocery shopping anf putting groceries away as a legit workout!

I just want to run a longer race, so I signed up for the Biggest Loser 15k. It’ll be my longest distance. I am nervous but excited!

Cocoa Puffs!!!!

Reply

OMG carseats are ridiculouy heavy! I swear I have the best arms I’ve had in my entire life just from lugging Ella around every day.

Two races on my bucket list are the NYC Marathon & any Disney race. I’m also crossing off a race on my list by running the Nike Half Marathon in DC this April!

Reply

That sounds like an intense strength workout! I’m impressed with your meal planning!
I always make and take a grocery list. If I go without, I spend way too long roaming the isles and looking at fun, new treats.
Lucky Charms were definitely my favourite cereal, and I still buy them as a treat when I’m on vacation!
I have multiple races on my bucket list! My California bucket list race is definitely Big Sur, or the Tahoe Marathon or Tahoe Ironman!

Reply

omg I LOVE Brooke’s face in that grocery picture – it’s like she knows you just worked your butt off to carry her and all that inside and she thinks it’s funny. My favorite cereal was luckycharmscinnamontoastcrunchcaptaincrunch. I couldn’t choose…

Reply

Sugar Smacks. Now it is Frosted Flakes or Cocoa Puffs.
I make a list and generally stick to it. Which is why I try to leave DH at home.
I don’t really have a race bucket list. Right now I would be happy to be able to run more than 3 miles.

Love your blog. GO RAVENS!!!!!!!!!!

There are so many on my bucket list! I think the most attainable ones would be chicago, NYC, CIM and then I would love international. SO many, so little time;)
I loved raisin bran when I was a kid – also loved the frosted mini wheats and life, so good.
I am so bad about making a list for the store, my life would be so much easier if I did. I usually just wing it and forget half the ingredients.
Have a great day!

Reply

Do you ever get in a bad mood where you just can’t seem to get out of it? It makes me crabby when I can’t run.. this is one of those mornings. It was too icy in MN this morning, the streets were like ice rinks.. I’m not a happy camper!

I do that too.. carry everything so I only have to make 1 trip with all my g-bags. Builds strong arms! How much does Brooke weigh now?

Reply

I loved FMW and Lucky Charms. Of course I picked all the marshmallows out of the Lucky Charms and I had to let my FMW “soak” in the milk for about six minutes before eating them. Mmmmmmm……..
The NYC Marathon is really the only marathon that I can think of that is on my bucket list.
I do indeed make a shopping list but usually spend about $100 more than what is on the list. Yes I need help.

Reply

Hehe! I usually consider carrying groceries up to my place my strength workout, especially since I refuse to make two trips and do my best to carry everything in at once. Boss  And I do usually make a list, but that list either gets left at home, or just used as a bare minimum, and I end up buying way more than I had originally planned on anyways. As for favorite kid cereal, definitely Cinnamon Toast Crunch!

Reply

Brooke just gets cuter and cuter… such a smiley baby! :)

Reply

I have the green garmin 10, too! LOVE! My bf and I toyed with the idea of running LA this year. Next year, for sure! :)

Reply

PLAIN Cheerios were always my fav… I know, I know I’m boring. I have a mental list that I always use which makes up my diet staples, and then depending on that week’s grocery needs, I’ll write down a few items I don’t always buy. Carrying groceries and a baby sure as heck DO count as an arm workout!! I can’t speak for the baby part, but since I don’t own a car I very much know how heavy carrying groceries are!

Reply

That’s some serious strength training! My favorite cereal as a kid was Oreo O’s. the bomb,

Reply

I do make a grocery list and I stick to it like glue. LA Marathon is definitly on my bucket list. I am an LA girl. I would probably also like to run NYC one day. My sister, who I credit with getting me into running, lives in NYC and I’d love to run that with her.

Reply

I love my Garmin 10! I have it in green too and that was the first thing I noticed when I saw that picture. It’s really simple, which I like, except sometimes I wish I could set my own distance for the laps.

Reply

Rice Krispies with LOTS of sugar…and then when it fell to the bottom I would drink the remaining milk and sugar…yuummm!

Reply

I just bought the Garmin 10 last night. My husband has the boring black one but loves it. I thought he would share with me but he hasn’t so I had to buy my own. I got the pink one. I mostly did that to ensure that he would not borrow mine when his was charging, which I think he would do if it was lime green. I am not big on sharing.

I always write a list when going to the grocery store but never stick to it.

Reply

Hmm… NYC Marathon and (another) Disney Marathon.
Frosted Flakes, when I got them, they were a “treat”.
I think I would have a panic attack without a grocery list, so YES. Lol.
Nope, stilll have my old and clunky Garmin, but it still works!

Reply

I can not wait to order the Garmin 10! It is my on my wish list to buy before Feb. 25! I want it for my half-marathon training! :)

Reply

Bucket List Races…
* Disney Princess Half – have done the Wine & Dine in November. Want to do at least one more Disney run.
* hmm. Maybe a big city half.

Frosted Flakes – cereal coated with a visible sign of sugar….yum :)

I keep debating between the Garmin 10 / 310xt and the 405. I want a watch that can do the foot pod – which is keeping me from getting the 10. And then the price difference between the 310xt / 405 on Amazon isn’t much. So haven’t decided yet.
***Would love some pro/cons on all of these***

Reply

LOVE Cinnamon Life!!!! And frosted flakes. And CTC. And pretty much every other type of cereal. TOO HARD TO PICK JUST ONE (or even two!).

Race bucket list– definitely NYC and WDW.

Reply

This will be my 5th time doing the LA Marathon – you HAVE to do it! The newer Stadium to Sea course is awesome. You see all the parts of LA with no stupid out and backs! The crowds are great the whole way.

Reply

LOVE that she is running the LA Marathon. I love her!! Would love to watch the marathon =) =)
My bucket list is constantly growing. The little details of paying for them is what is keeping me from not running them. Small details. HA
I want to run Big Sur and the Kona IM (AGH) one day!
I didn’t eat cereal growing up. My mom never bought it for us…and the few cereals we did have in the house I didn’t like. Sad, I know

Reply

COCOA PEBBLES! My husband makes fun of me when I buy them now so I just wait for him to go on a business trip then I eat them for every meal while he is gone.

I love my Garmin 10, I got it for Christmas. Its so much smaller than my Garmin 405, I claim that since its so much lighter I can actually run faster with it.

Reply

I want to run NYC and a Disney marathon! Also the pittsburgh full.. I’ve only done the half.

Fave cereal growing up was cocoa puffs.

I usually always stick to my list. Unless I’m in trader joe’s and then some random candy/snack good I NEED to try finds its way into my cart :)

Reply

LIFE cereal was all I ate growing up!! You’re right, the cinnamon was the best. I need to buy a box.

Reply

My dad uses the Garmin 10, and, so far, he loves it! My favorite cereal growing up was definitely Honeycomb. I’d just snack on it by the handful!

Reply

Marathon bucket list (too many to count!): definitely CIM and one in Ethiopia (my husband is from there and had lots of family living there)

Reply

Running the lululemon 1/2 marathon this august in Vancouver. The Nike woman’s in San Fran and the 1/2 in disneyworld is on my bucket list as well. The garmin is on my wish list. Kashi heart to heart is my favorite cereal when I take a trip to theU.S to purchase not avaiable in Canada

Reply

Cinnamon Life is my adult cereal love.
My childhood ones, I remember raisin bran. rice checks. and rice krispies with lots of brown sugar on top.

I have a list for meals, and go with what looks good for snacks and treats.

Bucket List: not a specific one, but run a marathon with my husband, my mom, my best friend, or YOU. :)

Reply

I always make a list when I go to the grocery store and then completely don’t follow it. A lot of time I see things that I either hadn’t thought to put on the list or forgot to put on it. This usually results in me ditching a few things at the checkout line, though.

Favorite childhood cereal – Cookie Crisp!!

Reply

I usually make a list so that I can figure out which things I want to buy at the regular grocery store and which things I will get at the farm market.

Best cereal? Corn pops for sweetness, Nature’s Path Pumpkin Raisin Bran for daily deliciousness.

I will be doing my first half this year, so that in itself is on my bucket list. I’m doing the BMO Vancouver Half and the Rock n Roll Seattle!

Reply

Grilled pineapple is soooo good! I ate a lot of oatmeal growing up – maple and brown sugar all the way!

Reply

that’s so neat that Deena will run LAM!! :) wish I was running this year but, it actually lands on my lil’ one’s 5th birthday so, we’ll be partying it up. :)

RUN LAM with me next year!! I’m serious. :) You’re welcome to stay with us. :)

Your dinner looks great. love grilled pineapple. My favortie cereal growing up was cinn. toast crunch. Yes, I make grocery lists when I go to the store. I try to stick to it most of the time & I’m real proud of myself when I do. But, it seems there’s always 2-3 items that get snuck into the basket. Especially, when the kids go to the store with me! Just wait…!! :) :) love ya xo

Reply

My race bucket list includes the London Marathon and the Nike Womens Marathon. I’d like to do some other unique races too.. If the Great Wall marathon didn’t involve one trillion stairs I’d add that one to the list too, but 42 km + the equivalent of climbing a mountain of stairs just sounds like torture to me :)

Deena Kastor is awesome. I loved the look into her training life in the Spirit of the Marathon. I have my fingers crossed for her, she’s one tough lady!

Reply

Our cable car driver told us back in October that the niners were going to the Super Bowl! And they ARE! Wooohoo!

Reply

I swear I feel like I do major bicep work after hauling in my groceries. It definitely counts! And I can only imagine how much more intense it is with a baby and car seat. No wonder so many young momma’s are ripped. :)

Reply

I loved Frosted Flakes and Golden Grahams when I was a kid!!! I still adore kid cereal, too. Cap’n Crunch, Fruity Pebbles, Cinnamon Toast Crunch…you name it, I love it!!!

That chicken sandwich looks insanely good!! It is going on MY menu for next week!!

Reply

LIFE was one of my favorite cereals growing up too, and it still is! I went through a phase a few months ago with it and ate a bowl every evening before I went to bed. Love it! I also loved (and still do) Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Crispix, and Reese’s Puffs.

Reply

my running coach has ran 53 marathon!! He is my hero!!

Reply

Headed to the grocery store now…I always make a list (or I inevitably forget something I really really needed)…but I don’t always stick to it! Sometimes I just come across something I NEED in that moment….chocolate, hummus chips, and fruit snacks are good for you, right? ;)

Reply

I have the oldest Garmin from the beginning of time. It feels and looks like a brick on my arm. But gets the job done! :) And I can’t believe you’re making us pick a favorite cereal. But i’ll have to go with Smart Start. Or Life. Or Oatmeal Squares. Oh such a tough decision!!

Reply

So, you know I’m definitely rooting for the RAVENS (& you are my good luck charm :) ), but I LOVE Brooke in her 49ers onesie. Too cute :D I also love both Harbaughs, so I cannot wait for the Super Bowl. It will be an awesome weekend- we are so excited!!! This will be Craig’s true test though…G goes to bed around 6/ 6:30 & the superbowl starts at 6:30pm (our time)…so I sure hope I don’t have an awake baby all night ;)
Oh & you know how I think it is the COOLEST thing you are friends with Paul. He is such an amazing player, I sure hope we sign him for next year.
Love ya!

Reply

I love Deena Kastor so much, she is hands down my favorite female athlete! Two of my bucket listers are Big Sur and the Maier Marathon in Alaska…because I want to run a marathon in Alaska! I loveeee Cinnamon Toast Crunch (just plain, no milk) and I make lists but am terrible at sticking to them!

Reply

I live in South Carolina, so knowing how gorgeous the island is, I would LOVE to do the Kiawah Island (half) marathon! The Savannah rock’n’roll half is also on my radar!

You might think I’m crazy, but I hated cereal up until about a year ago but now I can’t get enough of Honey Bunches of Oats mixed with plain greek yogurt and berries–best snack ever! Also, Kashi go-lean crunch is a favorite of mine, I love granola-type cereals.

If I didnt make a grocery list all there would be in my cart would be a BUNCH of pre-cut fruit, 15 bags of chocolate chip cookies, and enough greek yogurt to feed an army! I have to make one to keep myself on track.

I LOVE my Garmin 10, but I always forget to charge it. Not gonna lie, I felt pretty cool seeing that I have the same running watch as an elite marathoner–going to charge that baby right now for some motivation!

Have a great day Janae, love your blog:)

Reply

I have to make a list, I hate grocery shopping, so it’s nice if I can get in and out in less than an hour haha I love cereal like when I was a kid! I love reeses puff and fruit loops.

Reply

The marathon in Paris sounds cool. I’m planning on doing the Honolulu one some time, too. My running group registered early and it was only $45! Luckily plane tickets were relatively cheap because it’s in November or something.

Reply

I almost stopped reading your blog today until you said that you would be ok if (when) the ravens win the superbowl – PAUL KRUGER is a BEAST! one of my fave players this year – I think he is really doing a great job now that Ray Lewis will be retiring and since Ray was hurt most of the season – very cool that you know him!

Since we’re friends again I will tell you that I adore Lucky Charms and Special K and that I asked Santa for a Garmin 10 but never got it… darn… it had to move to the b-day list.

GO RAVENS!!

Reply

Being a fat kid growing up my favorite cereal was Lucky Charms, but I’d actually separate the marshmallows and eat them in a big bowl of milk. Sometimes even ice cream. There was a reason why I once weighed over 400lbs.

Reply

My husband is rooting for the 49ers; I could care less about football. I need to try grilling fruit. Broiled grapefruit and oranges are really popular right now.

Reply

Brooke looks SUPER excited about rooting for the 49er’s! What an adorable little sweetie! I would love to run a NIKE marathon…the one that gives out Tiffany necklaces instead of metals and I would also love to run one of the Disney marathons.

Reply

I just bought the Garmin 10 and absolutely love it! Sadly, I’ve only been able to take it out once because of a busy work schedule and a layer of slush that is now covering the ground. I can take running in the snow, but soaking wet feet, no thank you!

Reply

Ok, you are SO right about cinnamon Life. Only flavor that’s worth anything. And I have the same green Garmin as you do! I love it!

Reply

I love grilled pineapple – yum! And isn’t it cray how heavy that carseat gets. ;) My favorite cereal growing up was actually eating the marshmellows out of my older sister’s lucky charms – double points because I got to eat marshmellows and make my sister mad! Don’t feel too bad for her, she was able to dish it right back!

Reply

fav cereal as a kid: frosted flakes!

I think it’d be fun to run Boston one day.

Brooke looks adorbs in that shirt!

Reply

I’m rooting for Deena too! Oh my, so true about the carseat and groceries as a killer strength workout. I’m so thankful my daughter can walk herself into the house these days. :)

Reply

As a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, I think I am required to root against the Ravens haha.

That sandwich looks delicious!

Reply

Your are so right about the Life, the non-cinnamon kind is so disappointing! Cinnamon Life all the way.

I got the Forerunner 10 for Christmas and LOVE it! I can’t run without it now. :)

Reply

my favorite cereals as a kid were: cinnamon toast crunch, honey combs, pops, apple jacks, fruit loops, honey nut cheerios, and frosted flakes (so basically sugar with milk) i haaaaaaaaaaaaated lucky charms though, bleh! ;)

and i usually make a grocery list on sundays for basics, and then through out the week will run back to the store if need be

Reply

As soon as I read this post title I knew it was going to be carrying Brooke or something heavy :)
I always make a grocery list, and meal plan too, because doing those things saves us a ton of money…I definitely want to venture off the list though and always “allow” myself to if it’s a fruit or veggie.

Reply

My two bucket list races would be Boston and the London Marathon. I think Deena is amazing and I really hope she wins just to show that you can still kick butt at 40.

My favorite cereal when I was younger was honey nut cheerios. We always have a list and try to stick to it about 95% but we normally forget to put something on the list and then remember when we’re at the store

Reply

Grocery workouts are the best kind. And omg her little Niners onesie! Too cute!

xo

Reply

Oh my gosh, Cinnamon Life cereal is my absolute favorite!!! I eat it almost every day haha! I also really love Cheerios (the plain kind) and Rice Krispies…I am weird, but I do like the sugary cereals like Lucky Charms and Reese’s Puffs too!

Reply

I LOVE cinnamon Life!! So good!
I really want to run Boston someday!!

Reply

i usually make a grocery list, but i always end up buying more (go figure ;)).

i’m running the LA marathon in march!!! it will be my first full =)

Reply

Captain Crunch with Berries! I try to make sure I have a list when heading to the grocery store, if not I end up spending way too much!!!

Reply

My 2 dream marathons are Jackson Hole and Genghis Kahn, in Mongolia. You can stay in a yurt!

Reply

Reeses puffs!!! Chocolate + peanut butter, can’t go wrong.
My uncle is a 49ers fan soooo I think that’s who I’m routing for… Since I’m an Eagles fan it’s hard to root for the Ravens. Too geographically close.

My marathon of choice would probably be NYC. I think. Or somewhere tropical, like Hawaii, so I have an excuse to take a mini vacation. :)

Reply

2 races on my bucket list are the NY marathon, and the Army 10 miler. Oh and an obstacle course race, but I’ve signed up for one in june, so it’s sort of on the way to being off the list!

Reply

I know what you mean about a strength workout with a car seat! My daughter is almost 5 months and my scrawny arms cannot carry her like that much longer! She’s in the 10th percentile for weight so I can’t even imagine her any heavier and lifting it, ahh!

Reply

B’s excitement for groceries is too funny! Can’t wait to see how Deenas going to do this year. Love her. She just joined twitter too. Hoping to do the LA marathon in 2014, but that’s still tbd.

Reply

LOVE the picture of Brooke in her 49ers suit. SOOOO cute.

Two races on my list are the Scotiabank Toronto Marathon (My first one this October!) and Meet Your Maker Ultramarathon in Alberta. Next year!

Reply

Those car seats are seriously heavy. Definitely a good arm workout.

I want to run the Boston Marathon and one that they have in Greece (it’s supposed to be the “original” marathon route).

I would have to say Cap N’ Crunch (the PB is amazing!!) and Lucky Charms.

Reply

Yum… Life is so good! Though my parents always bought the healthy version and we added honey to it :) As for marathons, I want to run Boston and Big Sur!

Reply

We ate soooo much cereal as kids! If it was coated in sugar, we were all over it. Cinnamon Life is my all-time favorite!

Reply

Boston & Big Sur; I’ll be crossing Boston off in April!!

I was already a Fruity Pebble and Lucky Charm girl. Still am!!

Reply

I love Deena! She’s awesome. One of my training buddies (I use that term loosly to describe someone that uses the same coach and happens to be at the track at the same time as me) is going to the cross country national championships this weekend and gets to race against her, and a bunch of other amazing people, and I told her to get as many autographs for me as she can!

Life cerial is and will always be one of the best cerials ever to grace the cerial isle.

I totally play a game to see if I can bring inside everything from my car in one trip. It’s gotten much eaiser now that my kiddos can walk, but I remember the days of carrying them and all my groceries up two flights of stairs. Wow, that makes me sound old.

Reply

I have two favorite football teams and would you believe they are both in the Superbowl this year!??!! I was a 49ers fan way before the Ravens became a team but I live in Maryland and they are are home team so it’s Ravens all the way this year!

Reply

The Big Sur Marathon is on my bucket list. But I have no idea when or how that’s going to happen.

I try to stick to a list, buuuuut sometimes things catch my eye. I am a freaking racoon that way. Distracted by shiny things.

I am even more impressed by your carrying load because there are stairs to tackle too, after the hike from the parking lot!

Reply

ooooh I also want to do the Tinkerbell 1/2 marathon in anaheim and cross over to Florida for the 1/2 over there!

Reply

Cinnamon Toast Crunch FTW! Even now that I mostly eat “healthy” cereal I can’t get enough of that stuff.

Reply

Marathon bucket list- NYC, Hawaii, and Disney. So far i’m training for my third half. I’ll make it to a full one day.

Favorite cereal- raisin nut bran. I still LOVE it!!

Reply

Golden Grahams all the way – I would hide the box from my brothers and sister so that I could eat it all! Muuahhhahaa!

Reply

Golden Grahams were the bomb! I loked to let them get half soggy before eating them. And I HAD to drink the cinnamony-graham milk when I was done eating.

Boston and NY are on my bucket list!

I do make a grocery list and really try to stick to it. The worst part is when I go specifically for something on my list and come home only to have forgotten that one item!

Reply

Gotta have a grocery list or else I feel like my trip is a waste! Love my Garmin 10 – just ran my first 5K with it and it was great!

Reply

My top race is the Disney Princess Half Marathon, which I am running next month! I want to do a bunch of other fun 5ks and things like that, so I couldn’t really pick a second one. Maybe the Shamrock Shuffle or some other race in Chicago (my hometown). When I was a kid, I honestly LOVED Frosted Shredded Mini Wheats. Have you tried the Maple & Brown Sugar Life cereal? It is my ABSOLUTE favorite. I could eat a whole box in one sitting if I had the chance. I’ve been making a grocery list recently when I’ve gone to the store, but sometimes I get so excited that I can’t stick to it. That’s my usual reaction to food….

Reply

NYC marathon 2013 (shb 2012, but Superstorm Sandy had other plans) and the Marine Corp marathon are 2 biggies on my list.
Love Life cereal + Raisin Bran.
Brooke is the cutest 49ers cheerleader out there.

Reply

It’s ALL about the Cinnamon Toast Crunch!!! I can’t eat it anymore, because I have Celiac Disease, but when I was a kid my grandma would buy a Family Size box when we came to visit and I used to set an alarm and wake up SUPER early before my family woke up and eat as many helpings as I wanted :) It was the best!

Reply

I love the niners onesie!! You should try a baby sling to carry Brooke – you get both hands free and you don’t have to lug the bulky carseat around!

The LA Marathon is amazing!! It’s fairly flat, goes by the major sites of LA, and there are tons of cheering crowds!!

Reply

I definitely make a grocery list – not only that but I put all the items in the order I know they’ll appear in the store so I can make sure I don’t miss any. I like to be super organized about it so I can get in and out as fast as possible!

Reply

2 of my bucket list races are Boston and Marine Corps in DC. Hopefully I’ll be able to register for the second one this year.
Don’t remember my #1 favorite cereal but some on the list were FMW, lucky charms, and honey nut Cheerios.
I always make a list for the grocery store and stick to it pretty well. Sometimes addtional items jump into my cart without me realizing it. Most of the time it’s ice cream or pie ;-)
I have the Garmin 210 which I love, but steal my husband’s 10 on occasion. I just love the pop of color!

Reply

I love Life! I bought a box yesterday, but it was maple and brown sugar flavor. It was a toss up between that and cinnamon, but maple just sounded so yummy yesterday!

Reply

I love life cereal!! Now I want to go buy some :)

I ate a ton of cinnamon Life growing up… and as an adult. They had it at Costco for awhile and then took it away- we cried a little at my house.

I admire everyone that can follow grocery lists and meal plans. I just stockpile food in my house instead!

Bucket List: NYC Marathon (first I have to actually run a full….) and any Disney World race

I loved Lucky Charms as a kid, but my little sister used to always eat all of the marshmallows out of the box before I got to it.

I make a grocery list, but then I always make the mistake of bringing my husband to the grocery store with me so we come home with a lot of extra stuff.

No Garmin 10, but I am a lover of Garmin GPS watches in general (I have a 405)

Cocoa Krispies were my all-time favorite cereal growing up (and actually still are my fav). They’re so good..but so not healthy !!

I was a die hard fruit looper. STILL am! That’s the reason why I can’t keep them in the house. I cannot be trusted.

sorry if this is duplicate, in a hotel with a crappy connection. Cheerios were and are the bomb, plus there was a cereal called Smore’s that was BALLER. it had golden grahams, chocolate and real marshmallows, sadly i havent seen it since the 90’s and there is a more recent imposter one that doesnt even come close :( So glad to hear u are ok with the RAVENS winning (since they are) and its awesome you have a connection to Kruger! Dennis Pitta also has a Utah connection, he is a BY alum!
Kastor is IMHO one of the smartest runners out there and her Bronze win in Athens brought tears to my eyes. Which brings me to my bucket list, the Baltimore marathon (or half) and a race in Greece (since my fam comes from there and its the home of marathon!) would be cool to complete.

1. Cinnamon Life is one of my favorite cereals EVER! I used to love french toast crunch (I don’t even think they make it anymore) and golden grahams too!

2. I make a grocery list 95% of the time, and I try my best to stick to it. Sometimes if one of my favorite items is on sale or a particular type of produce looks amazing, I’ll get that as well.

My favorite cereal as a kid is STILL my favorite (guess I don’t grow up much)…Life (especially when it gets soggy from the milk) and Cocoa Kris-pies (with a scoop of peanut butter on top)

I also do meal planning and stick mainly to a shopping list. The only time I deviate from the list is when there’s a sale on a pantry staple on which we’re low, or if I substitute one fruit or veg for another when it’s in season and not an integral part to a meal.
I’m amazed at how much less food waste we’ve had since we weren’t really wasting food to begin with, but mainly it’s meant that the fruit and veg we eat is fresher and tastier, since I only buy a week’s worth of groceries at a time.
