My Feelings are hurt

because Brooke thinks that Curly is way cooler than me.

They have been playing all day together and leaving me out of their best friend duo.

My SIL and brother offered to babysit Brookester this morning so that I could go OUTSIDE to run. I most definitely miss those mountains. It was about 40 degrees outside which is my favorite running temperature and I did 8.2 miles around all of my old favorite neighborhoods. I have a feeling I am going to have a really good two weeks of running and my treadmill will not be missed at all. My body no longer likes doing hills because of all of my treadmill running so I will be forcing myself to get in some hill training at some point while I am here.

Enter in a quick stretching session and change of clothes (clearly I didn’t have enough time to brush my hair). We decided to hit up the park because it warmed up a lot, there were 4 adults and 11 kiddos. There was a lot of running around going on. Brooke’s first experience on the swing… I tried to convince my mom to give us an underdog but she wouldn’t because Brooke is too little.

IMG 5985

We snacked on Fruit by the Foots and granola bars.

IMG 5981

The best part was when my mom brought us back Subway. Can you see why I have been missing her so much? I had the ham one and like usual Subway fulfilled my needs.

IMG 5995

Time to take Curly and Brooke on a date for ice cream cones. See you in a little while.

Who else ran outside today? What was the temperature for your run?

What are you having for dinner tonight?

Random question of the day: Are you a morning person? Have you always been a morning person?

-Brooke (and all babies I think) is the biggest morning person ever. I wish you could all come over in the morning and listen to her coo and giggle.

I ran 10 miles at 5am! It was about 40 degrees out too.

I am actually embarrassed to admit what I am having for dinner tonight. We are having coney dogs (at least they will be turkey hot dogs), over fries and those pumpkin chocolate chip cookies you posted about!

I used to be anything but a morning person. now if I sleep past 6am I feel like I am wasting my day.

My boyfriend and I have decided that it is our dream to get locked in a trampoline store overnight with a billion fruit-by-the-foot taped to the ceiling — HOW FABULOUS WOULD THAT BE?! haha. AKA I love the kiddos snacks! ;)
39 degrees is my favourite running temp so I’m right with you there!! Just on the verge of deciding between tights and shorts with compression sleeves.
Definitely a morning person and always have been. I start work at 6am, so this is probably a good thing! ;)

Love it!

I ran a 5k this morning bc I’m trying to get my speed up. Felt great!

I’m definitely more of a morning person after I get some coffee. :).

Have fun!

Yay for a hilly run! Looks like a beautiful place too :) I haven’t ran since my 1/2 on Sunday. I am walking like John Wayne (very sore) but at least I’m walking.

Dinner tonight is whatever’s in the fridge/pantry that doesn’t require too much cooking or dirties too many dishes. Which reminds me. I need to do the dishes tonight.

I am a morning person. always have, always will be. I used to get up at 5 am when I was a kid, just to watch Rocky and Bullwinkle on TV. Sometimes got up even before my dad! I used to work out every morning too, but since I moved in with the Hubby back in ’09, that has been difficult. lol.

I think I’m in love with your whole family. I might just join it. Curly is literally the cutest kid ever (almost as cute as brooke;) and I love that you guys go to the playground and eat fruit by the foot. It looks like you’re having an amazing time and I can’t wait for you to get a bunch more really awesome runs in!!!

That is the sweetest picture! Glad you are having so much fun with your family. :)

Does sprinting from the Wal-mart checkout line to my car and back (because I forgot my wallet) count as running? I’m not quite a month postpartum and I’m getting antsy to run!

I should probably think about dinner…my poor husband.

I use to be a morning person! But not anymore…and that’s a bummer, because now I have kids.

So glad Brooke and Curly and getting acquainted.

Oh Curly and Brooke brought a tear to my eye in that first picture! Weirdly makes me think of how I wish my future kids could grow up with my sister’s kids, but like you, we are across the country from each other. Brooke looks so much Luke Billy in the swing picture! Glad your trip is off to a good start!!

Awe I’m so happy for you!!
I’m definitely a morning person.

16 mile run this morning…last long run before I taper for CIM! 40s is my favorite temp to run in as well. For dinner? Whatever I decided I can pack quickly in my lunch box (working 8pm-8 tonight : (

Oh my gosh that photo of Brooke and Curly is adorable!! It’s like they have their own inside joke going on…too cute!

You’re lucky you have such beautiful scenery while running. I ran today (first time in 5 days – yay!) and it was a boring run along a busy road…

awww Curly is so cute! What a precious picture of her and Brooke.

I am nowhere near a morning person, unfortunately. I would really love to be the type to get up early and run because it’s a great way to start the day! Maaaybe one day.

I LOVE the egg salad subs!

i used to be a morning person. but then i started working graveyard then swing shift. i am a night owl for sure now. dinner tonight is a salmon quiche i made earlier today. i didnt run outside today, but I will tomorrow afternoon!

My run was 8.1 miles. My friend and I just ran from my house to downtown to pick up our race packets for the Turkey Trot. We then made her brother pick us up and drive us back to my house.

I’m definitely not a morning person or a night person. I shine mid-day.

Curly and Brooke are adorable together!

I am a morning person, always have been! I also can’t stay up really late anymore… must be the side effects of turning 23 :)

Have an amazing day with your family!

I’m definitely a morning person too – it’s when I’m most productive.

My parents brought over Subway for lunch today, too!!!! They really do know how to make a delicious sandwich. Yum. And wow, 11 kids is a lotttt! Sounds like a blast! I never used to be a morning person cus I was always a night owl, but lately I’ve been becoming more and more a morning person and I love it! Mornings are so nice :)

What’s an underdog? Seriously no idea. Sounds dodgy.

I became a morning person (unwillingly) 3 years ago today when I became a mother. But somehow that gummy smile made it all worthwhile.

:) This post made me so happy for you….that is all!

I did an easy 2 miles around 10am to test out my body after a horrible long run on Saturday. It felt great! It was around 65 degrees and a little cloudy, perfect running weather.
I am definitely a morning person, first thing in the morning is the best time to get in a workout.

Reply

I’m so glad you’re home and that everyone gets to spend some time with brooke! I flew home today and my mom is making salmon and asparagus for dinner. And I’m definitely a morning person!

curly is the most adorable little peanut in her jammies! my sister reads your blog as well, and at least once a day one of us says how adorable brooke is. you have a cute little gang goin on over there ;)

Ran for my first time in the dark today after work! I was nervous at first, but think it will be great going forward!

First off, love love love seeing how happy and in LOVE you are as a mama. Beautiful you! Beautiful her. Not a morning person unless I’m drinking my coffee and taking it slowly. :) Just ran outside and it didn’t run much on me at all. MIss reading here Janae. But I’m back.

I was just thinking today that Utah really busted out the lovely weather for you and Brooke! I drove to Utah County for a work thing and it was GORGEOUS out!!

I can’t get enough of that picture of Brooke and Curly. Cousin love!

Your day sounds amazing!! :)

I am NOT a morning person. I was a competitive swimmer (in college as well) for over 15 years and I HATED morning practice! I was the one who you knew not to talk to for at least 20 minutes after I got to practice! haha

:)

I’m glad to hear you made it back home and are having a great time!

For dinner tonight, I had a homemade quesadilla with soy chorizo, cheese, salsa and sour cream.

Reply

Aw, I bet you are having an amazing time at home!!!!

You can try bribing Brooke with some cookies. Or gummy bears. I’m sure you’ll become her favorite then ;) I’m most definitely a morning person, mostly because of breakfast and coffee. And speaking of which, breakfast is what’s for dinner tonight – a big bowl of cereal with a banana and almond butter.

Reply

It was 55 degrees on my run today! I loved every minute of it. And I used to be a big morning person, then was a night owl, and now I’m back to “liking” mornings. The getting up part is horrible, but once I’m up I love it.

Reply

Yup, I ran ouside tonight in Boston. I think it was in the 40’s?

And I’m such a morning person. I’ve always been one and don’t think I’ll change. I get so much done by 8am and then slowly fade throughout the day. But there’s nothing wrong with an early bedtime, right? ;)

Reply

K, so I think you must be staying right by where I live bc I recognize 8th North (ur running pic) & Sharon Park? Right by my house! We are doing a trail run easy at 9am tomorrow if u wanna come!?!

Reply

It was 47 degrees and slightly drizzly when I ran this morning. I prefer it a little cooler than that but I’m not complaining. I am a morning person and pretty much always have been. I’m pushing it these days with how early I’m getting up to run (my first week back as an am runner) but it general I like the mornings.

Reply

Sorry Janae but Brookly (Brooke and Curly) are so cute together!!

Reply

Not a morning person…but my toddler is up at about 5:30 every day! Enjoy your family!

Reply

That picture of Curly and Brooke makes me happy. They are the cutest! I hope you have a wonderful time with your family. Happy Thanksgiving!

-I did my run (5 miles) inside this morning–it was only in the low 30s, and that just seemed too cold for me. It was a great run though!
-I am a morning person, now…I used to HATE getting up any earlier than 8 or 9 but now I’m up at 5 by most days and ‘sleeping in’ is somewhere around 6:30 :)

Reply

That first picture is just too cute!! Glad you were able to enjoy an outdoor run, I don’t know how you log so many treadmill miles… I get so bored!

Reply

I did a double run yesterday so just walking today. Another double run tomorrow.
Leftover ham and applesauce.
I am NOT a morning person but I force myself to get up and run.

I’m definitely a morning person. I usually can’t sleep in passed 9:30 or 10:00am (especially if it’s bright outside).

Reply

OMG Curly is too cute in her onesie!

Reply

I guess I was forced to become a morning person after I had kids. That wouldn’t have been a problem had they slept through the night, lol!!

The picture of Brooke laughing at Curly is so stinkin’ sweet!! I don’t know what it is, but little kids always get the best laughs and smiles out of babies.

Reply

Unfortunately, I ran inside today. However, your outdoor run looks like it had some incredible scenery.

I had a quick dinner tonight- a Skyline 3 way (chili, spaghetti and cheese for those who don’t know). It was amazing, but not such a great pre-run dinner. :)

Reply

I ran outside today! It was about 50 degrees, which I think is perfect running temperature.

I think I am a morning person in personality, although I’m not sure if my brain is sure about that. I hate sleeping in because I feel like I miss out on all that great morning time, which I usually get to spend to myself, but I am sometimes pretty sleepy when I get up too early.

Reply

Seriously? That picture is so cute I can’t even stand it. It must be so special and touching to watch your and a sibling’s children interact. Glad you are having a good time at home, Happy Thanksgiving!

Gosh that pic of Brooke & Curly is too cute…love the onesie!

So happy for you that you’re home and getting to run outside. I would’ve given you and Brooke an underdog. Ha. Hugs!!!
