Brooke thought she was pretty cool when the stewardess gave her a pair of wings on the flight yesterday.  She did pretty darn awesome on the airplane.  She only had one little fussy time but other than that she was really good.  On our second flight she even got her own seat on the plane for her carseat and slept the entire time.

Exciting highlight of the trip:  We saw Sue Sylvester from Glee.  I saw her in the airport (the sunglasses indoors made me notice her) and then I followed her for a while to make sure it really was her.  Her little dog was adorable.

My brother and my dad picked me up from the airport and took me straight for my beloved salad of happiness.

I have missed you so so very much.  I keep on convincing billy that we need to start up our own little cafe rio or costa vida franchise in San Jose but he thinks we should focus on other things like paying for school first.  Sweet pork salad.  Be prepared to see a photo of this every day for a while.

Curly requested to be on the blog today.  It felt really good to give my nieces and nephews some big hugs last night.

My family kind of has a weird thing about trying to replicate old pictures.  This is our family photo from 16 years ago.

I think we did a pretty good job.  I miss those old bangs of mine.

This post was written at 12:44 a.m. with my sister next to me waiting for me to finish so that we could start our Alias watching marathon.  I have a feeling that I am going to sleep a total of 4 hours over the next two weeks.

Today is going to be filled with a run, a ridiculous amount of time with my nieces and nephews, my mom’s cooking and introducing Brooke to Billy’s brothers and SIL for the first time!

————————————————————–

What is your Tuesday going to be filled with?

Ever seen or met anyone famous?  WHO?  Where?

Any Glee fans?  I haven’t seen this season yet… is it good?

Hope you have an awesome time with your family!! It’s amazing how much you and your sister look alike, especially when you compare the two pictures.

My day? Work! Bleh! Oh well, I get to have fun on Thursday!

SO awesome you saw Sue Sylvester!!! Enjoy your time at home!! Love the old family photo recreation — actually I think that’s kind of a thing? There’s some tumblr site dedicated to it I think.

Loving the family photo haha…and how perfectly you guys recaptured it!!! That’s pretty stellar you saw Sue Sylvester. Before I read what it was about, and just looked at the picture, I thought you might have just been noting that someone had their dog traveling with them! haha

I LOVE ALIAS!!!! Seriously, I dream of being Sydney Bristow.

Aww so glad you had a good flight with Brooke!! and she is pretty cool with those wings!! ;) I’m home at my parents house as well this week!! Looking forward to meeting up with some friends! I once met Ashlee Simpson in the street and Michelle Pfeiffer and Zac Efron were filming the movie New Years Eve in my office! I didn’t get to meet them but I saw them! :)

I know you are so happy to be home again! I hope you enjoy every minute!
Does seeing reality TV stars count? When I lived in Alaska I saw Kai from season 3 of the Biggest Loser at the gym. Then last year I saw Patrick from season 10 of the Biggest Loser at a nursing convention. I think the only reason I recognized both of them is because they were wearing the Biggest Loser shirts!

Reply

ooh I love seeing famous people! I once saw Lil Wayne in the Atlanta airport & he really is “lil” :p Then when I went to Hollywood the only famous people I saw were the iCarly kids.

Loving that old school family pic & Brooke is just way too cute!

Yay for family! Mine is here too, and 2 BFF’s because today is WEDDING DAY!!!

Yay for sisterly bonding! That’s my favorite. And I used to watch Glee once in a great while, but now I watch it more often. I don’t know if it’s any better though. There just seems to be more going on since it’s following characters in and out of high school.

Brooke is getting bigger… she’s so adorable with her little wings :)
I’ve never seen anyone famous at an airport… that’s awesome that you saw sue! :)
Have fun with your family for Thanksgiving!

Reply

Oh my goodness Brooke’s face is sooo precious in that picture with her wings! What a doll.

4 hours of sleep is worth it when you can be with your awesome family <3

Oh my gosh….My husband’s family does the same exact thing with trying to replicate an old family photo!! There are 7 kids and 2 parents, so anytime they are all together, they do this same pose! Ha Ha!

Reply

Brooke looks so cute in that top picture! I wonder if she’s going to keep those blue eyes.

I’m surprised your parents didn’t make you all wear matching clothes for family photos when you were young. My family has some pretty awesome ones of all of us wearing reindeer sweaters at Christmas time. Ha, it’d be pretty sweet to re-create them now!

Reply

I LOVE that you replicate old pictures! That’s so cool.

I love the old school hair. Also, I know you’ve mentioned your sister is a hairdresser, but can I just say I am glad someone keeps your mom current? Her hair looks good! She is not stuck in some past decade with her hairdo! Maybe your sister has won that battle! (of course you and your sister have current hair too, but i think this is more important to point out about moms :)

Reply

I saw Hugh Grant in an airport once … he was on his cellphone complaning how the flight made his scalp itchy! Hahaha :)

Reply

Today is hair appt day!!!!! I love hair appt day. Color and length will be changed.
I used to see athletes in the airports all the time.
I haven’t watched Glee the last couple of seasons.

That’s awesome that you saw Sue at the airport! I also love that you stalked her!

That picture of you and your family is so funny, you all look so different! I am going to try to convince my family to do that at Christmas!

Reply

I’m so glad you’re having such a good time at home already! Isn’t it the best how we just settle right back into our old routines? Have a wonderful time gossiping, watching TV, and working out with your sister!

Reply

Yay, so glad you’re able to spend time with your family!! :)

Our Tuesday is quite exciting. We’re going to our 20 week appointment later today, and will hopefully be finding out our baby’s sex! Yay!

Reply

First: Obligatory Brooke is crazy cute comment.
Second: How sweet is Southwest?! They gave my daughter some wings the first time she flew, too.
Third: Umm, your sister doesn’t look like she’s aged at all. 16 years?! It can’t be possible.

Hope you have a great time at home!!

That first picture of Brooke looks a lot like Billy!
Hope you’re having a fun day!

Ah Sue Sylvester! Love Jane Lynch :) I have met a few celebs but the biggest was probably Will Smith and Jada Pinkett in Aspen yearsss ago. I love recreating old pictures, it’s always fun to see how everyone has changed. Today is my last workday of the week so I can’t wait for a lonnggg weekend filled with food, family and fun :)

Reply

My Tuesday is filled with chili! We are having a cook off at work. And I just discovered there is a Cafe Rio close to me. I kept looking at the name thinking it sounded familiar. I’ll have to look at your old posts to see what to order there!

Reply

I’ve seen Kanye West at the Valley Fair mall (back when he was normal and not all rude and cocky). I kind of froze because he was a famous guy… and there was a big bodyguard walking with him.

Reply

Yay! I’m excited for all the upcoming family posts. Now I’m craving Cafe Rio-darn it! :) I know you love lip gloss and my I am about to run out. What are your favorites?

I cannot believe you saw Sue!!!! How awesome! And I’m glad Brooke did well on the flights! I have a great tuesday – I’m going home! I should actually get in the shower because I need to leave in 30 min…

There is something about you with your family that just makes everything right with the world. Loved all the pictures……

Tuesday: School, a good run, leftovers I am already craving, Dancing with the Stars.

Yay for Curly! It’s been far too long. I’m skeptical of sweet pork salad, but it’s probably as delicious as you say it is!

Reply

YAY! You look so happy to be with your family! Curly looks like she has grown. I hope that y’all have the best time together.

I’m working today…between work, practice, SHRED, and a game tonight, I won’t be home until around 10:30. Thankfully I have five days off after today!

I was in an Alabama music video when I was little, and I’ve met several professional athletes at the gym where I teach SHRED. I was on a flight with Eddie George once and stalked him through baggage claim – he actually needed change for a dollar for a vending machine haha. :)

Reply

So cool that you saw Jane Lynch at the airport! I’ve never seen anyone REALLY famous…only Jim Edmonds (old St. Louis Cardinals center fielder) at the mall once.

Today I am going running and to lunch with friends who are home for break! Then I am getting a haircut and going to see Lincoln with my mom and boyfriend. Should be a good day!

That picture of Brooke is one of my favorites!

Please open a cafe! I will come visit!! And possibly never leave.

On Friday, I went to the Serena Williams vs. Aga Radwanska and Andy Roddick vs Milo Raonic exhibition game and ended up meeting them all! And then watching the game, Adrian Grenier from Entourage sat in my row. I was a lucky girl that night and I met him too!

Glad you made it safely with a happy baby!! ENjoy your family time :)

That family photo may be the funniest one I’ve ever seen (with no offense intended). It’s true that people look better as they get older!!! Your mum’s hair in the first one is fabulous.

So nice to be home, eh?? Enjoy it. And enjoy Alias, I LOVE Alias.

I love your priorities. Cafe RIO Is always a first. I am at home in StL for the holidays, and I already miss Rio ;)

Good job mama! You made it home! We actually see quite a few celebs where I live… Sean Penn and Robin Wright, used to see them at my friend’s cafe a lot… Robin Williams, saw him at a local bookstore…I saw Bonnie Raitt the other day at a cafe…Phil Lesh (Grateful Dead), see him around … George Lucas, saw a movie in the same theater as him once…so cool! Danny Glover, security where I used to work had me ask him to sign their Lethal Weapon movie… Rena Sofer (she was on an episode of friends once) chatted with her near my work… lead singers from Third Eye Blind and Smash Mouth, met them at a concert…Tony Larussa (used to manage the Oakland A’s), his daughters and I used to take classes together… oh and Dean Karnazes! I ran the last 2 miles of a half marathon with him back in September! That was the best of them all!!!

There is a picture that my family took something like 15 years ago. For many years after that my Grandma would always try and get us to recreate it. We did for a few years, luckily we don’t do that anymore.

I used to Nanny in LA so I saw celebrities quite frequently. My two favorite sightings, that were not Nanny related, was Kim Kardashian at the airport and Robert Patinson at a club in Hollywood.

I’m glad Brooke was great on the plane!
