Always a good sign…

Brooke slept in until 8:45 this morning which is a very good thing because Billy and I decided to stay up really late last night doing important things like watching Everybody Loves Raymon and reading every single tweet from The Grumpy Cat.

Screen Shot 2012 11 14 at 1 28 45 PM

I didn’t start running until 11 this morning but I definitely contributed to this awesome chart from Garmin’s website. I think I added a full gallon myself.

Screen Shot 2012 11 14 at 1 25 13 PM

After my run I started to make a dessert that I am taking to a friend’s house tonight when I realized I was out of eggs.  I just needed ONE egg.  That’s it.  Brooke and I jumped in the car and headed to TJ’s to just buy eggs.   I got a little sidetracked.   You have to get your Advent calendars now so that you can start them right on December 1st.  Maybe I will make this one my November calendar and then get another one for next month.

IMG 5786

My Bangs Friend (proper noun) really close to TJ’s so I forced her to come get lunch with me.  We got our food from TJ’s and it was delicious.  The macadamia nuts and dressing in this salad are amazing.  Her pesto chicken wrap was also so good (I am that person that requests to try everybody else’s food too).

IMG 5784

As you know, Honeycrisp apples are the best apples ever (I refuse to even argue with anybody about this) and so I got one to go along with my lunch.

IMG 5783

Always a good sign when your apple is as big as your child’s head.

IMG 5785

I think Brooke’s eyes are going to stay blue but I hear from different people that some babies eyes change colors up to nine months old?  Anyone know?

PS I am glad that most of you agree with me that milk chocolate is far better than semi-sweet chocolate, just reading the name of semi-sweet chocolate should tell you the right answer on which is better… don’t give me semi, I want 100% sweet.

————————————————————————————-

Are you on Twitter? ow often do you get on Twitter?

What color of eyes do you have?

Ever had a Honeycrisp apple?

Are you a food sharer or do you just stick to your own meal?

-Billy just knows now that I will be trying some of whatever he is eating even if we are eating the same food.

Everyone on twitter raves about Honey Crisps so I went and bought them and I…just…don’t….get….it. They are no Rome apple ;) On twitter I am @Kris_Law but we are already following each other. I love your tweets!

Can you bring Brooke here to teach my kiddos how to sleep in?

Reply

You must not have had the right Honeycrisp. I have never heard of Rome apples..I MUST try them I LOVE YOUR TWEETS. Yep, we will be over in approximately 10 hours to teach your kiddos sleeping in:)

Reply

1.19 is pretty much a steal for them too. I’d be tempted to buy more than one though…and that’s when it gets pricey!!

Reply

Honey crisps are only good if they are from MN! We grow them right :)

Janae-Brooke is so ridiculously cute. If your blog was only pics of her I would still read every.single.day!
Have a good time with your friends tonight!

ALI!! You are so sweet. Seriously, thank you so much. Your comment made my day!

Reply

Yes! I’m on twitter but don’t go on too often! My IG pictures automatically load on there though!

My eyes are brown…but I’ve always wanted blue ones! Brooke is lucky!

Honeycrisp are the best, I have to agree with you! Slathered with PB = even better!

Reply

You are so right… I was mad I didn’t buy a jar of pb to put on my Honeycrisp. Hope you are having an amazing day gorgeous girl!

Reply

Blue eyes! Even though both my parents have brown eyes, my sister and I came out with blue eyes—yup I’m convinced we’re adopted!

Reply

That is crazy because aren’t blue eyes recessive and neither parent has them?!? I am confused ha.

Reply

Apparently if both parents have the recessive gene, there is like a 25 % chance that the kid can have blue eyes…BUT for both of us to be part of that 25 %…I don’t know I’m suspicious.

Reply

I am very suspicious now too…

Reply

I have dark green eyes (almost gray) and my husband’s whole family has very dark brown, almost black eyes (they are Native American). Our son’s eyes were blue/bluish until at least a year old. They are brown now!

Reply

My eyes are blue, but Mike likes to make fun of me and say they are more gray than blue.

I’m on twitter, but I don’t think I’m very good at tweeting :).

Reply

I’m not either but I love stalking other people ha. I have noticed your gorgeous blue eyes in pictures!

Reply

I just joined twitter a few months ago and I think it’s awesome! All I need is twitter to find out the important news in the world like what Grumpy Cat has to say. :)

My eyes are blue and I hope that one day my babies have blue eyes too. Unfortunately my boyfriend’s eyes are brown so it could go either way.

Reply

I am on Twitter way too much! I love it.
Blue eyes!
Yes they are the BEST apples.
I will share if I have to ;)

Reply

Girl, I’m sorry to tell you that TJ’s advent calendars are a dud. I know! I know! Just about everything at TJ’s is great, but the chocolate is tiny and gross tasting. Just a warning not to buy two months worth.

Reply

OH NOOOOOO I guess I will just have to go get some new ones somewhere else. Thanks for the warning!

My eldest daughter’s eyes changed to green when she was seven Years old so never say never…

Reply

I am on twitter for a good 12 hours. just looking to see posts :) I was never on twitter before this year and it has definitely has it ups and downs.

My eyes were blue up until i was about 13 or so and they shifted green. Every now and then they turn blue again. Seriously. My dad had bright blue eyes and my mom has dark brown.

I’m actually in love with the Pink Lady apples ;) just enough tart and sweet.

Reply

ahh that last picture of Brooke is so cute!!
I love to try other people’s meals, but am usually too shy to ask…thankfully my husband is that same way so we always get jump at the chance to share food :)

Reply

I am on twitter! (@thesaucyapple) However, I think I need to take Remedial Tweeterizing because I have such a hard time keeping up with the pace of it all.

BTW, you should try a JAZZ apple. These are my fave, but a perfect, sweet honeycrisp is wonderful, too. :)

Reply

Um, yes. Milk chocolate is WAY better than semi-sweet. I always use milk chocolate chips even if my recipe calls for semi-sweet.
And yes, again! Honeycrisp Apples ARE THE BEST!!! My mom’s husband is a huge apple farmer in Washington and when my mom came to visit a month ago, he had sent us a whole box of Honeycrisp apples! SO GOOD.

Reply

Oh yeah, and my kids’ eyes all changed colors at different times. My oldest’s didn’t turn until she was a year old! And now they are a dark dark brown. But my 2nd’s changed at like month 3ish. My youngest’s eyes changed at like month 9 I think… I remember praying so hard that she would have my husband’s hazel eyes and not my brown, but it didn’t work. All three of my kids have dark brown eyes like me. :S

Reply

I think my sisters and I creeped my SIL out when we were in AZ cause we all order food and then try everyones/pass it around. She was not down with that. It is like ordering 4 things off the menu! How is that NOT awesome??

I ate a honeycrisp apple with string cheese for a snack today. I love them. They really are the best.

You should always keep a bag of ground flax seed in your fridge and then you can just use that instead of an egg. It works in most recipes. Or buy the ener G egg replacer. There are many other things you can use instead of eggs :)

My eyes are blue and so are everyones in my family and my husbands so I am pretty sure all of our kids will have blue eyes too (so far that has held true)

I check my twitter daily. I am not always on it unless my phone shows that someone has tweeted me :)

Reply

I agree, honey crisp apples are the absolute best. But dark chocolate chips do make the best cookies. And I only let my BF order food that I also want to eat because I insist on eating half of his meal every time.

Reply

Mmmmmm….Honeycrisps! I hoard them this time of year since they are a seasonal apple. I have one every day in the fall (with some caramel dip, of course). I’ve gotten on Twitter this past year for a job that I do in travel writing. It’s interesting…and a little bit addicting!

Reply

Brooke’s expression in that apple pic made me laugh so hard! I agree that honeycrisp are the best by far, except now I’m spoiled and I really don’t like any other apples. As for the chocolate, send me all the semisweet and I’ll gladly take it off your hands!

Reply

Honeycrisp apples are the BEST – I totally agree! I always make the brown sugar cream cheese dip and eat these for every meal.

My son’s eyes were blue for about 6-7 months, then they turned olive green, and by the time he was about 14 months old they turned straight brown. Sigh.

Reply

Honeycrisp apples aren’t as sweet as I usually like but they are definitely still pretty delicious :)
I saw those advent calendars when I was at trader joe’s last night buying pre-cooked food since I was feeling too lazy to cook for myself and I almost bought one but I refrained. I’ll get one after thanksgiving, but I think my roommate would kick me out if I started decorating for christmas now… we haven’t even gotten rid of pumpkins yet!

Reply

I will probably be having dreams about that chocolate peppermint loaf mix! It so disappointing that I do not live near a TJs. Honeycrisp apples are my favorite. I love that they are so crispy!

Reply

I thought the same thing about the chocolate peppermint loaf… except I do live near TJ’s and it is all I can do not to get in my car right now and go buy several boxes! It sounds so delish!!

Reply

I am only friends with people who share their food….but I will admit I don’t actually like to share my food unless I am completely stuffed. Guess I am a little greedy.

Honey crisp apples are good but I have to peal the skins off otherwise I have an allergic reaction and since that takes so much time I usually don’t eat many….maybe one or two a year.

I am on Twitter but I really don’t tweet much….I just prefer to follow lots of celebrities and live vicariously through their tweets.

Reply

I bought that exact same Advent calendar from TJ’s! Twinsies!

Reply

I was born with blue eyes but they switched to dark brown when I was 7 1/2 – 8ish months old. I’m sure that Brooke’s eyes would be beautiful regardless, but I LOVE the shade of blue they are now. <3
I am not the best food sharer. I'm trying to become one though. If I'm out for a meal and really enjoy what I'm eating, I'm more likely to share so others can try just how good it is. But if it's just normal dinner, etc — no way, it's mine! ;) My biggest pet peeve is people reaching into my plate/bowl without asking.
I have Twitter open whenever I'm on my computer at home, but I don't miss it when I'm not plugged in.
Ps. If they made a TV show of your life, I would TOTALLY watch it. And this is from a girl who never watches TV. ;)

Reply

I’m on Twitter. I try to get on there every day for a few.

Reply

Hahahaha, Brooke’s face in the photo where you are comparing the apple to her head is just INCREDIBLE! She’s like, “REALLY, Mom!?”

Reply

Next time you’re out of eggs, try using flax or chia seeds if you have them! My husband is vegan so I use 1tbsp of chia or ground flax to 3 tbsp of water. If you let it sit for a couple minutes, it becomes an egg-like consistency!
Yes, love honey crisp apples! They’re also my fave!

Reply

I’m on Twitter. I’m Becky @mykeystroke I’m not on that much. I use facebook more.
I went through a phase where I ate an apple everyday. My fav was Gala apples. I still eat apples a lot, but not every single day. I like all kinds!
I have blue eyes. Brooke’s eyes are very pretty :)
I share and try food A LOT! I didn’t until my boyfriend wanted me to try everything on his plate. It works for me though.

Reply

Of course I’m on twitter @lyricandersen! I have blue eyes and I soooo wish there was a TJ’s in Canada!!!

Reply

Honeycrisp apples are far superior to every other apple! Seriously, I can’t eat enough of them this time of year when they are reasonably priced!

Reply

In hope her eyes stay blue, they are so pretty! Plus I have blue eyes, so… And I love honey crisp apples! Although gala are probably my favorite

Reply

I only read the first few comments on your last post… BUT I saw A LOT of Semi- Sweet and Dark Chocolate fans. Milk is lame… Semi-Sweet rules!!! (Just saying) =)

Reply

I have to agree! I always go semi sweet when making cookies!! :D

Reply

My niece had eyes that were the same color as Brooke’s when she was born and they didn’t change AT ALL. She’s 10 now and they’re still the exact same color. So fingers crossed! ;)

Reply

I’m definitely a food-sharer (mostly because I am also a food-trier… I want to try everyone else’s things).
Luckily, my boyfriend and I pick different items on menus and share them (it’s like getting two meals instead of just one).

Reply

I have blue eyes, which I just read today is a genetic mutation and that all humans used to have only brown eyes.
I don’t think I have ever had a honeycrisp apple, I don’t see them very often at our grocery store, but I love pink lady apples. Ever tried one of those?
I always try to share a bite of my food with my husband but he never wants any, however, I always take a bite (or two or three) of his even if he doesn’t offer.

Reply

You are a girl after my own heart- I refuse to buy anything but Honey Crisp! yummy. :)

Reply

Love that picture of Brooke with your apple! She looks so cute :)

I am on twitter…every day. I have two different colored eyes – one blue, one hazel. Honey crisp apples are the BEST (but more expensive… :/). Anddd I usually stick to my own meal but I will never hesitate to ask someone for a bite of theirs if it looks delicious :)

Have a good rest of the week!

Reply

I sampled that Chocolate Peppermint cake at TJ’s and it was AMAZING!!!

Green eyes
Honey crisp apples are good, but Pink Ladies are better.
I’ll let the Fiance have a small something…sometimes…I like my food, I’m like a food aggressive animal.

Reply

Honeycrisp fo life! If you buy your fruit from a grocery giant that sells grade B produce (no names, but it rhymes with schmal-mart) you aren’t getting a real Honeycrisp. Get grade A fruit. Trust me. It’s worth it. No other apple compares.

And 1.19/lb?! I’d pay to have you mail me a couple pounds! Ours are 3.49/lb here. Sale to me is 2.99… I’m coming to Cali!

Reply

Just bought Honey Crisp apples today, Delicious! Definitely worth the extra $1.50/lb…although my husband may feel differently…lol.

Brooke’s eyes are so beautiful! My eyes were blue until I was 10, then they changed to green and have been ever since. Both of my parents have blue eyes and all three of my siblings have blue eyes. I guess there is a recessive gene for green eyes somewhere!

Reply

Yes to twitter and HECK YES to honeycrisp apples!!!!!!

Reply

2 things: one is that I have now finished (just today finished!) FNL and am now completely unsure of what to do with myself. It was definitely such a good show and now I do not want to watch just any show because it might not be as good.

Also- I have never tried that macadamia nut salad from TJs but it is maybe just a california salad? I have not seen it….

Also (i guess this is a third thing?) but I think that Brooke gets cuter and cuter every day. And I also think she is going to keep those blue eyes [:

OMG… Grumpy Cat tweets are so funny! I’d stay up all night reading them, too :)

I’m due in January, my husband has GIANT blue eyes (which get a lot of comments.. grr) and I have green, we’re already arguing about what colour the baby will have – go green!

on our 2nd date, my current boyfriend told me that he loves sharing food and wanted to order a few sushi plates for us to share (rather than one roll each). apparently he was afraid to tell me that during our 1st date! so cute! he clearly knows the way to my “i want to try everything on the menu” heart.
yes – i’m on twitter at @shannascook (i do social media for work) and love your tweets! i hadn’t seen the grump cats account before, but wow your screen shots were hilarious and now i’m afraid i’m going to spend the rest of my day reading them… :P

I’m on Twitter (@ErinAnderson88), but only recently got into it. It’s great for health info and things to make me laugh.

I somehow expect people to share with me and then I hoard my own food. I guess I missed half of the sharing lesson.

I have dark brown eyes. When I was really little I thought all girls had brown eyes and boys had blue because that’s how my parents and siblings are! I was definitely confused when I met my first friend and she had blue eyes…

Reply

Agree! Honeycrisps are the best!! Let us know about the peppermint bread. I almost bought it, but resisted temptation. ;)

Reply

I LOVE honey crisp!!!!

I too totally try people’s food. They love when I do it too ;)

Reply

I’m eating a honey crisp as I read this! I had never had one until just a few weeks ago and now I’ve literally had one every day. Curse the day I ever eat a Granny Smith again

Reply

Definitely a fan of Honeycrisp apples. As someone who lived in Upstate NY for quite a few years, and now lives in a tropical Asian country, I MISS cheap fall apples. Don’t know how I can afford to make applesauce now, which is a real shame! :(

I do not share straws or utensils, unless you wear the other half of my wedding ring or were borne to the same set of parents. But otherwise, if you BYOU (bring your own utensil), you are welcome to share. Similarly, I will share some of what you’re eating, with my own utensils. This is ALWAYS true if you are my husband, and QUADRUPLY true if you order french fries or anything with chocolate. Many guys resent when girlfriends/wives eat off their plates. When my (then boyfriend, now husband) didn’t mind, I knew I had a keeper. Well, that, plus a million other reasons.

Reply

You have no idea how much willpower it took to put down the advent calendar the last time I was in the store. I’m thinking that I probably won’t have the will to do that again, so a chocolate-filled calendar of amazingness is in my very near future. And I was born with blue eyes, but they turned a dark brown as I got older. Oh, and you can keep your honeycrisps… pink ladies are where it’s at :P

My daughter’s eyes were blue/green for around a year and then they turned a very light brown. Honey crisps are amazing but have you ever tried mutsu?! They are the absolute best but they’re only available for like a month! So so good!

i’m on twitter but i’m SO lame and don’t have a phone that lets me get on so i always feel like i’m woefully behind on things because i can only get on twitter when i’m on my computer. lol.

i’m a food dork, i don’t share, and it’s kinda embarrassing to admit but other people’s food sort of skeeves me out EVEN if it’s my loved ones!! i tell people it’s sooo nothing personal but i’ll stick to my own side of the plate. :P

I just got on twitter and I admit I dont really know how to use it. I do follow you though!
My daughters eyes changed from blue to hazel when she was about 18 months old. Which thrilled me cause now that means she has my hazel eyes!!!
Honeycrisp apples are wonderful but I think Gala are still my faves. And I am definitely a food sharer!

honey crisp apples are incredible!! an I love how obnoxiously large they are :) I haven’t gotten an advent calendar in years.. might need to find one now

Ruby’s changed some time between 12-18 months from blue to green, but Fiona is 2.5 years and her’s are staying True Blue!

I love Honey Crisp and could eat about 3 of those ginormous ones all by myself. I always bought the biggest apples I could find until my girls started eating them by themselves. Now that I don’t have to cut them up, the tiny apples are best for little-sized toddler tummies. I love FALL = APPLES!

I had blue eyes until I was in third grade, and then they changed to green! My mom thought they changed sooner, but we looked at my old school pictures, and sure enough, they didn’t change until I was 8-years-old! My eyes change with what I’m wearing too though, so maybe I’m just an odd case.

Reply

I used to think Honeycrisp were the best. But then I tried SweeTango apples. They’re new and were invented here at the U of M in Minnesota! They are heaven in my mouth. And I usually only say that about chocolate. Not sure if they’re in other states, but if you ever see them, TRY THEM!!!! I think you will agree with me!

I just discovered Honeycrisp apples this year (I know, I know I’m so behind the times here) and I’m now ADDiCTED! I buy them every time I go to the grocery store and I can’t stop. I also tell all my coworkers – on a daily basis – how good the apple is that I’m eating HaHa! Maybe I should buy enough for everyone in the office next time …
