Changing my blog definition

I am seriously considering adding a new section to my blog in addition to talking about running and large amounts of food and sugar…  fashion.   But since my clothing is all from the 10th grade we will focus in on Brooke’s fashion.  Animal print is big in baby world.

I bought myself Christmas presents.  My sister and I went to the store to get hair dye to color my hair and I found these beautiful products MORE THAN 50% off.  Now Billy will be able to wrap a half used bottle of conditioner and put it under the christmas tree (I guess we have to get one of those too) and it is a win-win situation for everyone.

Good thing I have an obsession with buying ridiculous amounts of nail polish when I only put it on 2 times a year.

What a relief this trip has been to have dinner made for me every night because it sure is hard when I am in Cali and I have to throw something in the microwave for dinner or make Billy or my friends cook for me.

My sister made whole wheat pasta with italian seasoning, basil, onion powder, garlic salt and olive oil with garlic chicken, tomatoes and broccoli.  I felt healthy just eating it.

After dinner my soon to be brother-in-law said that he had COUPONS FOR FREE ICE CREAM.

I actually brought my real camera to ice cream and so I decided to add a dramatic effect for this picture of my ice cream tower.  I asked for Graham Canyon (graham crackers, chocolate chunks) and German Chocolate Chunk but she messed up and added a different flavor (Rolo ice cream) instead and then realized her mistake and added the graham canyon on top…. 3 scoops of ice cream for free.

Brooke got her spoon out and everything and we didn’t let her have any.  I feel kind of bad.

hahah check Curly’s face in that picture!!

I JUST put on some nail polish last night. I feel so proud since I’ve got about 50 staring at me in the face, barely used!

I’m trying to convince my boyfriend we need to get a Christmas tree even though neither of us will be in our house for Christmas.. I guess if he say’s no I’ll just make obscene amounts of sugar cookies and decorate random things to get over it.

The last ice cream I had was Brownie Cookie Sunday from the Stewarts gas station/ice cream shops in Upstate NY.. cookie dough and brownie chunks in one in case you can’t decide if you want cookie dough or fudge brownie ice cream :)

No Christmas tree up yet, and I’m seriously considering not putting one up or even decorating for Christmas this year. My husband is gone until January and we decided not to exchange presents this year so what would be the point of the tree without presents under it?
I can’t even remember the last time I had ice cream, I really need to remedy that soon!

Reply

Er I kinda want to dive into that bowl of ice cream- YUM! The last flavor I had was vanilla…standard yet hit the spot!

Reply

I love Brooke’s outfit in that first picture! She’s adorable :)

Our Christmas tree is up. Mike and I put it up on Saturday afternoon. I have a few decorations around the living room, but not anywhere else in the house. If I have time tonight, I’ll be putting up my village set!

I typically only have ice-cream once a week, at my in-laws house. Last time I think it was Butterfinger!

Brooke is a little fashionista;-)

Last flavor ice cream I had was egg nog mixed with vanilla.

No Christmas Tree yet. We are still debating whether or not to get one and where we would put it.
Bamboo 24 Hour Volume is my new fav hair product. Everything else I use is Paul Mitchell.
Mint Choc Chip ice cream.

Love the animal prints for the little ones!!

We are getting our tree this Sunday after church!

My favorite hair products are Kevin Murphy.

Last ice cream I had was vanilla. Had it with a warm brownie. …and chocolate syrup.

Reply

That Brooke with the little spoon picture is so adorable! Your sister’s dinner looks delectable!

Reply

Love the animal print baby clothes! Adorable! We put up our tree on Sunday, but we have yet to decorate it. Decorating is on our agenda for this weekend! And I haven’t had ice cream in far too long… Like 2 weeks? That needs to change!

Reply

Oh my gosh, that last picture of Brooke is priceless! She is going to get you back for that one someday. ;)

Reply

My favourite hair product is argan oil. It has changed the pile of straw that was my hair, into reasonably nice looking hair.

Reply

I went to NYC on Saturday, so there was no time to get a Christmas tree this past weekend. We will be getting it this weekend, though!

That ice cream sounds awesome. It also sounds like your future BIL knows the way to your family’s hearts!

Reply

I swear that first picture of Brooke looks just like Curly!

Reply

My decorations have been up for weeks! That is acceptable up here in Canada, as we don’t have the natural cultural turning point of a late Thanksgiving. I honestly can’t remember the last time I had ice cream! I love it but it makes me feel sick, so I usually just get chocolate coconut ice cream. It is seriously amazing.

Reply

hmmm I haven’t had real ice cream in a while but I had cupcake frozen yogurt and that was aaaaamazing! I think the last real ice cream I had was rocky road when I was in Colorado!

Reply

Obsessed with Essie nail polish too!! I’ve been wearing “forever yummy” all season.

Not a big ice cream person….weird right? When we go to the frozen yogurt places I put a tiny bit of yogurt in and a ton of cheesecake and brownies :)

Reply

I decorated for Christmas on Friday. I especially love my nativity set. I’m happy to be seeing that for the next month or so.

Reply

I try to use any hair products that are sulfate free and that don’t have alcohol (but those are really hard to find)! No Christmas decorations are up yet — I hope they get up soon! The last ice cream I had was pumpkin fro yo!! IT’s soo good. Almost a little spicy.

Reply

Morrocanoil Hairspray. Love it!!!
I cannot remember the last ice cream flavor I had……that should change.

Reply

Heck yes! We put everything up about 10 days ago :)
I love live clean hair products.
I had pumpkin pie ice cream last week a couple times.

Reply

I use the Whole Foods brand shampoo and conditioner in the mint scent. It’s SO nice. Leaves my hair feeling healthy but not weighed down.

Last ice cream I had was peppermint before Thanksgiving break!

Reply

BOTH of my Christmas trees are up! It’s the most wonderful time of the year :) I believe the last ice cream flavor I had was banana. So good!

Reply

Christmas tree up soon! Can’t wait, it makes everything so cozy! Last ice cream I had was vanilla with Apple pie. Definitely add a Brooke fashion page :) But why does no one think adult leg rolls and chubby cheeks are adorable??

Reply

I would totally support the baby fashion area :) I just can’t help myself when it comes to dressing my 1 year Audrey. She’s just too cute and her outfits are way more fun to pick out than my own!

Our C-mas tree went up Thanksgiving night… Our 2 year old had been begging to put it up since about September :)

I can never find hair products I LOVE… always am trying new things, but you have amazing hair!!

Reply

Oh! Love those nail polish colors! I have a million bottles, too. And, I think about 80% of mine are THIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS close to the same shade.

PS- Brooke is more and more adorable everyday!

Reply

Nothing wrong with an extra scoop (or 5) of ice cream! Last flavor I had was vanilla because it was an ingredient in a pie I made.

Reply

Little Miss Brooke is working that animal print!!

I change my shampoo regularly because my hair seems to get used to it. Right now I’m using the stuff Heidi Klum is the spokesperson for, it’s called Clear. I really like it and it seems to work well with my crazy curly hair!

Reply

Haha I’m the same way with nail polish – I have a huge collection of it and continually buy new colors, but when it comes to actually wearing them? Only once in a while, and more often than not it’s some sort of clear/nude color. I can’t help it though! It chips too fast, and the bottles are so pretty to look at :D

I haven’t busted out the Christmas decorations yet – I’m waiting until next weekend. It’s kind of tradition to do it on the first weekend of December, so only a few more days to go.

Reply

Love Brooke’s animal print outfit and Curly’s face is too funny! PS it looks like your sister sure can make some awesome spaghetti!
My family usually doesn’t buy a tree until about 2 weeks before Christmas because we always have a real one back in Canada. I’m not sure if any of the decorations are up yet though since I’m not home. And I don’t like ice cream… strange, I know.

Reply

Ha! Your questions hit the nail on the head for me. My last blog post was about putting up Christmas decorations (or mourning the lack thereof) and my current ice cream flavor obsession: Sea Salted Caramel! Nom nom nom. :)

Reply

Love the nailpolish color on the far right! Too cute!

Reply

Ice cream… yummy!! My favorite is toasted marshmallow. Your sister’s dinner looks fancy!

Reply

Yes we have our tree up! We always put it up after my dads birthday (20th of November). We have alot of snow out here too so it really feels christmasy (is that a word haha).

I’ve been using loreal products for my hair but if I splurge I like Matrix products.

Reply

I had vanilla brownie swirl gelato last week before Thanksgiving – it was delicious!

I put my tree up on Sunday, but that’s it. No ornaments or other decorations – other than my cat that constantly sits under the naked tree. At least it is a pre-lit tree! :)

Reply

I literally took a look at all my nail polishes last night with sadness as they hardly ever get used. I love Nail polish though and can never seem to stop buying it! :)

I had a bite of my littlest guy’s vanilla ice cream on Thanksgiving. Before that it was some Ghirardelli Mint Chip the week or so before. YUM!

Reply

Essie nail polish is the best. I am in love with thier new metallic colors, but make sure you have a god top coat. They chip really bad!

Reply

Thanks!!!! What brand or top coat do you recommend?

Reply

My friend recommends seche vite. I haven’t used it yet, but she swears by it. Kinda expensive so she gets it online.

Reply

Thank you sooooooo much!

Reply

No problem! Enjoy the rest of your time with your family :)

Reply

I know…isn’t the animal print EVERYWHERE for baby girls?! I love it, but poor G is covered in something animal print everyday…even her blanket that she uses the most is animal print…haha!
LOVE Essie nail polish- my favorite!
Poor Brooke didn’t get any ice cream….just tell her not to worry, her time is coming..I’m positive you will have lots of ice cream in her future :D

Reply

Last ice cream I had was toasted marshmellow. It was fantastic. We got our Christmas tree last night and will hopefully decorate it tonight. The rest of the house has been decorated since this weekend. I absolutely love this time of year. Also, I am super jealous that you are about to have a brother in law that has free ice cream coupons.

Reply

I will be in Germany the week before Christmas so I am debating whether or not to get a tree. I may steal RunEatRepeat’s idea and get a rosemary bush from Trader Joe’s! I’m a little excited to go to Germany and do my seven mile training run in the park near my family’s home! :)
The last flavor of ice cream I had was Ben & Jerry’s cannoli. It was just okay… I was a little disappointed and it wasn’t nearly as good as that graham cracker one sounds!
I’m obsessed with my Bumble & Bumble beach waves spray… I can get away with not doing my hair and just saying I have that beachy look.
Enjoy the rest of your trip!

What color hair are you going for?!

Reply

I use bedhead products, too (when I actually do my hair).

Reply

We cut down and put up our tree on Saturday! I was feeling festive!

Reply

No Christmas tree in the school house but we have the one up at home.
Brooke is so cute with her spoon, ready to join everyone else with the ice-cream-eating :)

Reply

I love Brookes outfit!! and I love that you do the same thing as me with nail polish! I’m seriously obsessed with buying it, just never wearing it. :(

Reply

What kind of haircolor do you use! I want do mine myself but am scared and clueless! The salon charges me $85 to dye my hair which is a little much!

Reply

I support leopard fleece. I once almost bought a leopard print hoodie from Macy’s when they were having a crazy cheap sale but an old “friend” talked me out of it. I say “friend” because I didn’t realize she was trying to sabotage me and all my fancy/funky/questionable fashion choices (kidding, I think she was keeping me from going broke lol). Now I long for that printed feisty hoodie… go Brooke and her wild decisions (when it comes to prints that is).

I’m thinking of signing up for the Nike Women’s half!!!! It’s in DC in April and I live in Baltimore!!! Ahh!!! Did you do it or am I forgetting?

O.M.G. That ice cream looks amazing. I am obsessed with beauty products. There are currently 4 different sets of shampoo and conditioner in my shower right now. Right now I really like this John Freida Blonde shampoo. It seems to really work for me. And Biosilk is the best pre-flat iron.

Last year I gave my boyfriend xmas tree as a gift..brought a little live tree..carried it home in the rain..for 3 hours was cutting old skirt of mine in to the purple ribbons .. painted the pot and fake ornaments in bright golden color and when he left his house 2 days before xmas for all day I took a taxi put it on in his living room, white fairy lights all around it, gifts under it, Santas note with I was here where you have been? and dirty spoon of Nutella-as hint who was there for real :D Honestly I’ve been really pleased with the result..it was classy and really nice looking tree without costing fortune..it made him cry :D this year I dont have any plans..dunno I still dont feel festive at all..in my apartment I have fairy light all year around so nothing special down here…

Fav.hair products- John Frieda .. Im having quite good hair-thanks mum and dad- think they would look ok even washed with soup but J.F really does magic with my honey blond color..and they smells divine even second day after washing..

Ice cream..last week 3 scoops of local gelatto..dark chocolate, vanilla with brownie chunks and caramel drizzle, biscotti tiramisu …dark chocolate was nothing special but that biscotti tiramisu hit the spot..

YAY for family time getting ice cream!

Last flavor I had: peppermint. SO good!

Reply

I love free coupons for anything! Especially ice cream!! Good for you for splurging on the fancy hair products, you deserve it! But I feel ya, spending money on those things hurts me a bit too :)

Reply

Brooke’s looking stylish in those animal prints :)

And don’t kill me, but I cant’ remember the last time I had ice cream.

Reply

Yes, we put our tree up on Sunday!! The smells amazing…I love it!

The last ice cream I had was last night at Yoforia. I got Taro flavor (kind of weird, but oh so good) and dark chocolate and then tons of toppings. Jealous though, nothing better than FREE ice cream!!

Reply

We’re getting a real tree this year but I haven’t gotten it yet. I did put up my most prized decoration, a full sized Leg Lamp, the week of Thanksgiving. It makes me happy just looking at it (and my neighbors love it too).
The only product I consistently use is Biosilk.

Reply

I love Aussie’s 3 minute miracle deeeeep conditioner, it is seriously amazing and so inexpensive!
What a lucky day you had: 3 free ice cream scoops I am angry I didn’t get that! I really want to try that graham canyon ice cream now.

Reply

We do not have any decorations or a tree up yet – I plan to rectify that this Saturday!!!

Favorite hair products are ARBONNE – all natural with no additives. Very healthy!

Last ice cream flavor – I honestly can’t remember. Probably coffee favor! If soft serve yogurt then it was Tart or Mango.

No Christmas tree for us this year. We have a fake one we hadn’t put up in about 4 years (my dad got really ill and once that happened we never felt like doing it). Then when we tried to put it up again none of us could figure it out and the lights didn’t work. My dad got really upset and threw it in the trash :( I’m thinking of trying to surprise my parents with a tree, but I’m not sure how I would do it since I never have by myself! We do have up some other small decorations though (:

My #1 hair product ever is ITS A 10!!! They call it “Miracle leave in product” and it really is. It’s stupid expensive, but I justify it since it’s the ONLY product that I use in my hair (besides shampoo/conditioner). I used to use a bajillion products until I found it and now I don’t need all those other ones.

Last ice cream flavor I had was mint chip.

I also love the nail polishes you got! Is it pathetic I know the colors just by looking at them? Nail polish is my weakness. I have about 200 (I have an excel spreadsheet on my computer with all the names) and I wear every single one. My finger nails and toes are painted at all times, and I’m always painting nails of friends and family since they say I have a better selection than the salon! (:

Reply

Those are fabulous holiday polish colors!! I’m into strawberry ice cream right now…oh and always froyo

Reply

I love Essie nail polishes!! And that ice cream looks so good!

Reply

What brand and color of hair color do you use?? I love your color!

We put up our tree this weekend. It looks so pretty and I love sitting by it and reading at night :) Last ice cream flavor I had was butter pecan. Grand Canyon flavor sounds AMAZING!
