My goal, cereal party and I melted.

My goal is to only sleep 4 hours a night while I am in Utah so that I can use every moment possible to take Brooke around to meet all of my favorite people.

——————————————————————–

You have to admit it, McDonalds offers some pretty delicious ice cream treats.  Ice cream sundaes, ice cream cones, MCFLURRY HEAVEN and apple pies (not ice cream but still delicious).  Brooke and I took Curly out for ice cream and it was a good time.  When I went to get them out of the car Curly was rubbing Brooke’s arms, I melted.  These two need to live in the same state.

MER MET BROOKE FOR THE FIRST TIME!  Brooke is starting to wonder why everyone is after her cheeks.

Billy’s bro and my sister-in-law drove all of the way down from SLC to visit us.  They texted me a few different options of where to go for dinner and Cafe Rio was one of the choices.  I don’t even think I read any of the other choices.   Strawberry lemonade for the win.

IMG 6011

My SIL is 20 weeks pregnant with a little girl.  This is so beyond perfect for my plans for Brooke to have best friends on both sides of the family. We sat at cafe rio for 2.5 hours.  It was a good time.

IMG 6013

I really don’t think Brooke is getting enough attention here.

At about 11 last night my sissy’s fiancé thought we should have a cereal party.  Him using a mixing bowl for his cereal bowl made me realize that he is really perfect for our family.  Bowl 1 of 2.

PS Raisin Bran has taken the lead over FMW as my new favorite cereal.  I may have overdosed on FMW… I didn’t think it was possible but it is.

Speaking of a fiancé… anyone reading engaged right now?  When are you going to get married?  Married peeps… how long were you engaged for?

Do you like McDonald’s ice cream? McFlurry?

Anyone around 20 weeks pregnant like my SIL?

Favorite late night snack?

We were engaged for almost two years before we got married. We had known where and when we wanted to get married so we had to wait that long if we wanted it done that way. It was worth the wait!!

We are road tripping home for Thanksgiving and now you have me craving a McDonalds ice cream drive thru session :). Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family Janae!

I think that you have the coolest family!! I would have to say that cereal is probably the best late night snack there is. :) And aside from their iced coffee’s and mochas’, McD’s does have some pretty good ice cream. :)

Reply

McFlurry’s are my absolute favorite…love it with Smarties or Crunchie…or Kit Kat! Haha clearly they are all freakin’ amazing!

Reply

You HAVE to try the Krave Double Chocolate cereal. Most days, I don’t need the milk with it and just eat it dry. I’m so blessed to have found it in my life!

Curly is absolutely BEAUTIFUL btw!

Just kidding! I’m excited to be married! But being engaged is super fun. It’s like being on a year long date, haha! Our wedding date is September 28th. I already got my dress and every time Zach isn’t home, I put it on, haha!

Cereal is by far my favourite late night snack. Actually, it’s my favourite anytime snack. Just can’t get enough!!

The mcflurry was ‘invented’ in my hometown (basically patented) of Bathurst New Brunswick, Canada. Always get smartie & Oreo mix yummmm

We were engaged for a little less than a year. Actually we get engaged in 6th grade so more like 12 years, wow that’s a long time! Wait, when did Billy’s bro get married? I don’t remember that, but Congrats to them on that and the baby :) Yay cousins!

Engaged in october…getting married in July 2013! Being engaged is fun but stressful!

So many things about this post made me smile, McFlurrys, your sister-in-law having a little one so close to your little one and cereal out of a mixing bowl!

Yay for family!

Isn’t family time just the best?? I love that idea of a cereal party! Sounds fun! My favorite late night snack is usually something salty- or salty and sweet like chocolate covered pretzels!!

Cereal is probably my favorite late night snack. I went through a period where I would open and close my days with a bowl of cereal!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I totally agree- McDonald’s ice cream is where it’s at! It’s definitely a close second to Froyo in my book! Curly and Brooke are so cute. I think you may have a babysitter in your future…? :)
Keep enjoying time with the fam!

I love your family now even more. Cereal parties are a must! :)

I am so happy you are reunited with your family! That view from your parent’s deck makes me jealous!

I feel like thanksgiving time/Christmas time is the perfect time to get engaged because then you have all your family around to celebrate it with you and the fiancee! I’m definitely a McFlurry fan, but I’d go with a DQ BLIZZARD anyday. Hands down..and I’m such a sucker for a HUGE bowl of Reeces Puffs cereal as a midnight snack :P

Reply

We were engaged for just over a year before we were married. I absolutely love McFlurrys!

I am 30 weeks pregnant with a little girl :)

Reply

I don’t usually eat McDonalds, but I DO get their ice cream once in awhile. Even just a vanilla cone is extra delicious for some reason. And my favorite late night snack / midday snack / morning snack / anytime snack would probably be cereal. I’ve been especially loving Cheerios lateley, I don’t know why–probably because everything else is too healthy.

Reply

Your family is so much fun. I wish my siblings were close by.

Mike and I were engaged for six months and then got married.

Reply

I am 20 weeks!! I know several people that are 20 weeks(ish) right now and so far they are all having girls!! Welcome home for the next little while!!

I love your posts! Family is awesome and I can’t wait to see a lot of mine tomorrow. Kids/babies are the best and I get to see so many tomorrow! So glad you are having fun!
I have been with my boyfriend for almost 2 years. We aren’t engaged, but mark my words, we will get married someday!
I have not had ice cream from McDonalds in so long. I usually just get sweet tea there. Now I’m thinking of an ice cream treat though :)
And a cereal party is a great idea. It really is the perfect snack. As a kid I had a bowl pretty much every night before I went to bed. I still love doing that.
Happy Thanksgiving!

I have always held a special place in my heart for McDonalds hot fudge sundays! SOO good! Looks like Brooke is loving Utah! ;)

Reply

I LOVE Raisin Bran! And you also know he’s a winner when he lets you put pictures of him eating cereal on your blog! Haha.

Reply

This may sound gross but I promise its not, it was a childhood favorite… hot fudge sundae with fries from McD’s! Dip the dries into the sundae!
I love Greek yogurt, berries and almond butter for a night snack!

I’m engaged!!! Getting married in July to my Best Friend and training partner! We will be engaged for a total of 13 months. Perfect because I wanted to be engaged for a year.
I have a slight (major) obsession with cereal. FMW is always in our house. The other day I came home with 5 boxes. Today my Fiance texted me that he just finished the last boc and is off to get more :)

24 weeks pregnant with our first precious little boy (still no name). I am sitting here sipping the blood glucose test orange drink while I type this YUCK!

Cereal snacks are my fav anytime of day. I have a mix of corn flakes and Kashi this morning at 1am…baby was hungry lol. Any excuse to eat cereal:)

Enjoy your day with the fam!

Also, Blueberry Crunch from Target (The actual Target brand) is one of my fav cereals. It’s like cinnamon toast crunch meets a hint of blueberry. I don’t even like Blueberries but its good.

Reply

Oh my goodness Curly and Brooke are so adorable together!!! I like the McDonald’s dollar cones!! I think my favorite late night snack is cereal as well! Last night I had a combo of multigrain cheerios and Kashi cinnamon squares.

-I got married this past June and my husband and I were engaged for almost a year prior to the wedding. It felt like the perfect amount of time! and really could have been even shorter.
-My favorite late night snack lately (besides cookies, chocolate, etc. : ) is mixing together applesauce, PB2, and cinnamon.

Glad you are having a blast with your family!!

I just got married on November 3! We were engaged for 14 months and towards the end of the engagement, I really wished it was shorter. I was antsy to get married, especially after all that planning. So far, being married is even better than I thought. And I’m not stressed over the wedding anymore :)

I just got engaged this September (!), on our 6 year anniversary. We *just* picked a date — September 20, 2014 — so we’ll be engaged for 2 full years. Gives us tons of time to just enjoy being engaged before the planning really starts!

Remember Mer with the whipped cream?? That was my favorite blog post ever written by anyone in the history of earth! It still makes me laugh so hard just thinking about it!

Reply

You made my day by remembering that!!! Thank you!

It’s a good thing I’m having some cereal for breakfast, or I’d be extremely jealous right now. And cereal makes the PERFECT late night snack – actually, any kind of breakfast food does, waffles included. I used to really love McD’s ice cream, but then I found a spider in my McFlurry and now I can’t eat them anymore :(

Reply

We’re engaged and getting married in May :)
The only thing I actually like from McDonald’s is their ice cream! Mm!
Favourite late night snack is anything carb-y, like pita chips, cookies, or toast.

Aww, Curly and Brooke = BFF’s.

Being engaged is SO fun! I just got married in April — we were engaged 6 months. We had been dating for 11 years before getting engaged. :) High school sweathearts!

Brooke and Curly are so cute together. :) Curly seems like such an awesome little kid. We would be friends if we knew each other IRL and I was 5. :)

Enjoy the time with your family and running OUTSIDE!!! Happy Thanksgiving!

I just got married in september!! We were engaged for a little over a year.

We were engaged a super long time – 19 months! We are teachers so we wanted to wait for the summer and didn’t want to rush it. Being engaged was excited but being married is much better in my opinion. We live for McFlurries – one time my husband brought home two, and I asked him “oh did you forget I’m going out so I can’t eat one?” Nope – both for him!

Reply

ok, first of all… McFlurries (the oreo kind) are like my dirty little secret lol… I LOVE those things!
My husband and I were dating for 4 1/2 years before we got engaged, and then we were engaged for 6 months before we got married. On Christmas, we will have been married for 1 1/2 years! :) Time flies!
Brooke is so lucky to have cousins her age! They will be the bestest friends ever! :)
I hope you have a great Thanksgiving! It seems you have so much to be thankful for! :) *hugs!*

I love reading about your visits back home!!! I was just about as excited for you to go home as you were. Curly and Brooke are the cutest!!! So happy you are getting to see everyone you love the most (except Billy) over the next 2 weeks.

Cereal parties for the win! Lately, my Lucky Charms habit has been kicking in hard around 9:00pm. Magically delicious.

Reply

Hooray for being in Utah! Gotta love this place. I love all the pictures you post. It makes it so fun to read your blog.

My husband is in the military so we were forced into a long distance relationship. We knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together so we figured why wait. We knew each other for about 3 months before we got engaged and were married about a month and a half later. In April we will have been married for 8 years. Best decision I ever made!

Reply

I bet you are in heaven back home! It’s always the best! Will Billy be flying to UT too?

Fav late night snack: ice cream or a bucket of PB! :)

Reply

Aw glad to see you’re having so much fun! I lovveeee mcflurries but haven’t had one in forever. I should change that ASAP.

Late-night cereal is the best snack ever! My husband had never eaten it as a snack before we got married, and now he’s a believer :) Speaking of hubbies, we were engaged for 7 months!

Reply

I’ve been engaged for a little under a year (11 months, to be exact) and am getting married next Saturday! SO Excited!!!! :-)

I like McDonald’s McFlurries but haven’t had McD’s in years, actually.

Favorite late night snack = kettle cooked potato chips, or a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios (if I’m in the mood for something sweet)! Yum!!

Reply

Awwwww!!! Looks like you’re having so much fun!

I looove Kit Kat McFlurry. It’s my favorite Ice Cream.

I’m engaged and I’m getting married next weekend (12/1/12) — ahhh!!!

Omg, I love Mcdonalds ice cream sundaes. Specifically when I can dip french fries into the hot fudge and ice cream. Yum.

Hi Janae! I love your blog (so I weirdly feel like I know you…) but I never comment! I hope you’re having the best time visiting your family in Utah (Curly is, like all of your nieces and nephews, so.dang.cute.).

I actually commented to say that I just saw this http://www.charitymiles.org/ today and totally thought of you and your high-mileage readers! Have you seen the app before? It donates 25 cents per mile run to a charity of your choice! You would rack up some serious change!

Happy running (outside!)!

Reply

Tara!!! Thank you so much for your comment! That is so cool!! I will definitely use that app! So cool!

Reply

I mean website!

Reply

I think it is an app? And, it will track your runs for the week and show you what your run earned (So – if you decide to donate to an animal shelter, for example – it will tell you “This run meant that three kittens were vaccinated”!!)

I LOVE the idea! Besides entering races that send money to charities/causes, its just another great way to “dedicate” your workout to others (which I think makes long runs so much easier!).

Reply

Really that is the coolest thing in the whole world! Thank you so much! I can’t wait to try it out.

Reply

I’m 16 weeks preggo today. Several of my running girlfriends are all around the same week in their own pregnancy. It has been really fun sharing our experiences on our runs together :)

Favorite snack right now…Cinnamon toast crunch, yummy!

Reply

When I spent a semester abroad in London I was obsessed with the candy McFlurry’s there – only 99p and I would get them all the time haha.

Looks like you are having a wonderful time with your family!

Reply

Oh gosh, we had the longest engagement ever. We were teased about it mercilessly. 2 years, 3 months. I was in grad school when we got engaged and my thesis had me glued to a computer screen for about a year and a half…but it was all worth the wait :)

Reply

Craig just told me how much he liked Brooke’s hair…and he said he hopes G’s gets that long too :D Brooke’s cuteness is just too much! We love her!!
Mmmmmm how good does that strawberry lemonade look!? YUM. We seriously need a cafe rio near us- I know you & Billy want to open one, so I’m thinking you should open it in Florida instead of California..sound like a plan?! ;)

Reply

Kind of heart broken after seeing that cafe rio picture. Why can’t they just come to the Bay Area? I would keep them in business all by my self.

Reply

I know!!! Lets start a petition for them to open one by us!

Best things to have at McDonalds is special request:

McFlurry with oreo AND caramel sauce
apple pie a la mode – they put it in the pancakes serving dish and put soft serve ice cream on top!
