Sweet Sweaty Moments and Pesto Pasta

We spent the night glued to the tv watching the results of the election.

Brooke was mad at us when we took a break from watching the results and went to Trader Joe’s for necessities. Billy, I can’t believe you cut the guac out of the picture, I would rather you cut off my head from the picture instead of the guac. They had mashed sweet potatoes as a sample and if Billy liked sweet potatoes I totally would have bought them.

The loot from our trip. I always like seeing what other people buy at the store to see where their priorities lie. Peanut butter filled pretzels lie at the top of our priority list.

Tuesday morning as Billy was leaving for school I told him to get really excited because I was going to make him homemade lasagna. My body and brain became really lazy as the day went on and we ended up having Costco Tortellini with Costco Pesto sauce. Billy made it. #wifefail. I don’t know why I just did a hashtag because I don’t really like using them except for on my instagram (hungryrunnergrl) hashtag #brookerockstagram.

Didn’t even need to put that sucker in the dishwasher with my amazing ‘lick the 9 x 9 baking pan clean’ skills.

Those sweet sweaty moments are so spot on… I couldn’t agree more, especially about it starting to rain just as you are finishing your run!

Love all of those!! and was lucky enough to experience the light changing one more than once on my run this morning…couldn’t stop smiling :) it was like the universe was pushing me faster!

I just finished off my bag of TJ PB filled pretzels!! They are so delish!! Unless it torrential downpours I’d much rather run in the ran than on a treadmill!! I took a spin class once in college- so that was several years ago, I hated it and haven’t been back since. :)

Great sweet sweaty moments! Yesterday, during Butts and Guts class, the teacher told me that I’m feeling challenged then she knows she’s teaching the class right, because I am the hardest one to challenge! That made me feel good!

I just finished up a session of Spin classes – and they were a challenge! My poor legs afterwards! But it was a great workout!

Oh I despise running in the rain. Really, I hate it so much. Being wet and cold is the bane of my existence, I’m sure of it. :)

I love running in the rain (as long as it’s warm out). I think that it is an incredibly empowering feeling.

I do love spin class also. I love having a teacher watching me and making me push harder than I would on my own. I love switching it up and being sore:-)

Depending on the time of year, I’ll run in the rain. If it’s cold and rainy, there’s just no way. Also, if there is lightening!

I can’t remember the last pasta I had. We used to have it all the time, but then I got tired of it and have stopped making it for a while.

Kicking for the last .2 of my 10k and crossing that sweaty finish line!
I don’t run in the rain. But it doesn’t rain in AZ much.
I have taken a spin class and liked it.
I made cajun chicken pasta last night. It was good!
Seems very dark here this morning.

And here I thought I was the only one in the world that secretly needed the stoplight breaks :)

I love running in light rain but totally skip out on anything more than that.

Love those sweaty moments! I definitely love the rain one- I love running in it! I always say it’s good for the soul.
Sweet sweaty moment-when I was riding on the bike trainer and sweat starts dripping off my nose onto the cycling computer. Feels so good to get that much sweat on!

I love running in the rain!

I have never taken a spin class. I want to try it sometime, but am a bit intimidated by it.

The last pasta I had? I don’t even remember! I don’t have it very often.

I actually don’t mind running in the rain (although torrential down pour might be a different story) I tend to have really good races when it’s raining or rainy :) Have never tried a spin class – maybe someday.

Kinda gross, but I love how I don’t feel all that sweaty while I’m running outdoors, but the second that I stop and walk inside I feel like I’m drenched. It’s almost the proof of a job well done …?
I love how Brooke seems in tune with the election coverage in that shot too!! True intellectual in the making!

SO cute! I’m obsessed with guac too :) What kind of lipgloss do you wear? It always looks pretty!!! Love your blog. :) xoxo

That’s a great poster of things that make you happy. I love when the light changes to what you need it to. Sometimes you just need a secret stop. :D

I hope you’re taking full advantage of TJ’s now… You’re making me jealous. ;) Peanut butter filled pretzels are the BEST! Oh, and of course the guacamole – I could eat that stuff all day.

I’m not a huge fan of running in the rain, so I’ll usually resort to the treadmill if it’s in the forecast. Guess I’m a wimp like that! ;)

I love to run in the rain as long as it isn’t too cold (and then turns to freezing rain)!

I totally agree about the instersection light one, even when I’m walking to run errands! Also the moment when you sprinted out that last .25 miles of your run and you slow down to catch your breath when you finish. I miss that one.

I bought that pumpkin bread based on a picture from your blog talking me into it, but we’ve had it for three weeks and haven’t made it yet. Parent fail.

I don’t like running in the rain at all– especially if it’s cold! BUT I hate the treadmill even more (don’t hate me!) so most likely, I’ll do cross on the elliptical or weights if it’s raining.

The moment when you see the end of the trail, and you realize that your body has just carried you over mountains with a pack strapped on your back for several days and countless miles. And now you get to go eat real food guilt-free! (And take a shower ;))

I don’t think it’s possible for Brooke to be any cuter! I’ll be honest most infants I don’t think are that cute till toddler stage but Brooke literally melts my heart. I dare anyone to find a cuter baby!

I am totally reposting those sweet sweaty moments. Love. Hope you don’t mind :-)

Love when it starts raining right before I finish my run. It makes me feel so accomplished! Actually, I love all of the sweet sweaty moments. All of them. Carbo-loading is at the top of my list for sure. Love that you’re a TJ’s addict now- it’s such a magical place ;)

Yeah. I am a crazy heavy sweat-er so I have a lot of those sweet sweaty moments!
I always hit the treadmill if it rains… and I take spin classes once in a while. I love it!

Ah love super sweaty moments! I woke up super sick this morning so won’t be able to get in a sweat session today :(

Love the one about the long forgotten song coming on, especially when it ends up being a throwback song from the 90’s :D

Can’t say I’m a huge rain fan, I don’t like my shoes getting squishy and icky!

Shells are the best kinda pasta, esp Annies.

Great list of sweet sweaty moments :) I had one while running across the Golden Gate Bridge on Sunday… clear, warm, beautiful and I was in the zone! I actually don’t mind running in the rain, and if it’s a rainy trail run, even better!

Those are some great ones!

Another sweet sweaty moment for me is when I can lift more than I could the last time! :)

“Cool breeze through a hot studio” is RIGHT on!

As long as I have a hat on to keep the rain out of my eyes I am good to go. I actually enjoy running in the rain. I’d rather it start raining after I’m already running. That first step out the door into the rain is a little tough.

I took a spin class once. I liked it but I haven’t been back. I got really into Turbo Kick classes so I did those all the time instead.

What are you going to do when TJs stops selling their pumping bread mix?!

Reply

I try not to think about it hahaha

I’m so dragging you to my spin class when you’re here. I have that same licking skill. Saves time doing dishes. :)

I absolutely LOVE running in the run. Sometimes I go out to run even if I wasn’t planning on it in the first place. Long runs in a downpour aren’t as fun, but the shorter ones? Nothing better.

Hi I’m a new reader here and I just adore your blog!!
So many of them are just plain boring and mundane to me, but I enjoy the humor factor :)

I was wondering if you had an FAQ type of thing for what your workout schedule is like, how it was transitioning to the post pregs body, etc.??

I love that Sweet Sweaty Moments poster!
And I’ve know decided I need to make the trip to Trader Joes this weekend. All of your photos make me so jealous!!

I love tortellini in pesto sauce, I just had that for dinner tonight but I also added vodka sauce, yum!

Reply

I am not sure when you are going to listen to me and buy their refrigerated brushetta

Reply

I am clumsy enough as is it, I don’t like running in the rain haha!
