GARMIN 10 GIVEAWAY!!!— CLOSED!!!!!

We were pretty darn boring last night. We had leftovers for dinner and somehow I messed up the cornbread even though all I had to do was add water, that takes talent.  We ate while watching the 49ers and then Billy spent more time reading while I cleaned the kitchen floors.  How did we get so cool?

Today we are giving away a GARMIN 10 to one lucky reader.  This watch is pretty darn incredible and you can read my full review here.

You know how I usually model the products I give away myself?  You are in luck today because I hired Brooke to model the garmin instead (don’t try to wear it on your bicep like Brooke does).

At first she was quite nervous and a little shocked that I asked her to do something so important.

DSC 4672

In this one she is actually even trying to point to the Garmin to show you how fashionable it is and how you can wear it all day long and not just when you are running.

DSC 4683

And then she got grumpy and gave me the evil eye because she found out I wasn’t paying her anything but milk to do all of this modeling for me.

Giveaway ends 11/5/12

I run for some “me time” and to destress. I usually run that extra mile for some sort of food reward:)

For good health, the endorphins and that extra mile for the feeling of accomplishment!

To be honest…I run so I can eat what I enjoy!

I run for me. It is one of the few things that is just for me.

Reply

I run because it makes me feel good. . . it makes me a better mom and wife when I am able to get out and run! :) Training for a race is something that motivates me to get out there and run all those extra miles! I am getting ready to start training for a 40 mile trail run and I am soo excited!

Reply

I run because it helps keep my stress levels down. I typically only go the extra mile if I’ve spent money on a race registration. I figured this out after my first two years of running, so now I always make sure that I have something on the horizon!

Reply

I run becuase it’s good exercise! Also once I get into a routine it gives me energy. I recently got my husband to join me finally! We would love to use a garmin!

Reply

I run to keep myself sane, clear my head, work out stress, and lift my booty! What gets me through the last mile is the fact I hate walking when I know I should be running….it like giving up.
Thanks for reading

I run because I can and I run that extra mile because once, I couldn’t run at all. :) I love knowing I am doing what was once not possible!

Reply

I run because I’m trying to lose weight and get in shape the healthy way. Since I’ve started running it’s also become soother. My day just goes better when I make it out for a run, and I feel better about myself when I go for a run. Motivating me the extra mile right now is my first half marathon coming up December 2. Also, the fact that I want to be able to say that I DID IT!

Reply

I run because I feel so much better and it’s my alone time to do some deep thinking while listening to awesome music. YOU motivate me to run! I want to be like YOU! Oh, and buttoning my pants also motivates me.

Brooke’s pictures kill me. She is the cutest!

Reply

I tweeted about it too!

Reply

I run because it’s “me” time. Sitting for 9 hours 5 days a week motivates me to definitely go that extra mile!

Reply

It makes me feel PROUD. I never thought I would run for longer than a couple of minutes so even when all I can do is a slow couple of miles, I feel amazing and accomplished.

Reply

I started running, almost by accident, about 2 years ago. I run because of the feeling of accomplishment I feel, especially when I run at a longer distance than I have before. I just completed my first half marathon, and while I hated training for it, I would happily do another half (when the stress fracture heals)!

Reply

I run for the endorphins and benefits to my bod :) What motivates me to run the extra mile is thinking about how good I will feel once I’ve done it!

Reply

Running feeds my soul. I run that extra mile to nourish the essence of my being. Is that “Berkeley” enough for ya? ;-)

Did the twitter thing :)

When I am thinking about giving up on a run, the thing that makes me run that extra mile is to think about when I used to run with my dad. He has Alzheimer’s and we can no longer run together in person, but I will always have great memories of how much we loved running/working out together :)

Reply

For me running is the one time of the day when I don’t have to focus on anything else except the rhythm of my feet. All my worries and to do lists just disappear. So i run to help keep me calm, centered, and peaceful. And hey, the runners high sure doesn’t hurt either! To help motivate me to run than extra mile, I always think about how good I’ll feel at the end, knowing that I conquered something difficult. Then I repeat a few mantras in my mind and it works every time!

Reply

I run for me. I feel peaceful during and after each run. I love the feel of just one more mile.

Very exciting..I have never won a giveaway..

1. I run to keep healthy, I run because it is my way of zoning out, clearing my thoughts and to think, I run because I love runners high. Also, I run because I really really REALLy like dessert (lululemon quote)
2. I am motivated to run that extra mile because I want to run faster, train harder and smarter.

Reply

I run to stay sane. But really, sometimes I am not sure why! The endorphins/runners high is priceless. Also, the time you spend running, no matter how far or fast, on the good days and the bad I believe makes you physically and mentally a stronger person. The motivation to run that extra mile for me comes from within. At that point I don’t have a choice in the matter. I just run.

Reply

I am tired of seeing a tubby (yes I said tubby) woman in the mirror. I hate it when I can’t find my size pants in forever 21 because they only go up to size 10. I’m motivated by my beautiful partner and our 4 daughters.

As you know(i have emailed you long back) i have become a regular reader. I almost keep checking your and Skinny Runner (SR) blog 3-4 times a day.Rather i would say both ur blogs makes my day :D
Am taking baby steps towards running. I have taken to running to get into shape and i have realized that exercising, specially running in general makes me stay cool for the day. the motivation to run the extra mile is to make myself run the number of miles you guys do (not in respect with speed and all) just the 10 or 8 miles a day. :)
I would die of excitement if i ran the complete 13.1 miles.

Reply

The amazing feeling I have after a great run, no matter the distance is my motivation & usually getting lost is my motivation for running that extra mile!

Reply

I run because I feel less irritable after a good run. I get the extra mile in because I always think to myself “you might not be able to get out here tomorrow, better get it in today!” Love your blog!

Haha, I just saw how many comments I am up against here! A girl can dream, right? Running has been part of my identity for 24 years! It is my therapy. It is my alone time. It is my girlfriend time. It is my “drug of choice”. It is a way to set a positive example of health for my kids. It is an avenue to set personal goals and to reach beyond my limits. Thanks for sharing your cute life with us. Best running blog ever!

I love to run because it lets me sort out the problems of the day and I go the extra mile to eat more!

Reply

I run because it gives me time to catch up with friends. Our conversations when we run always seem to be motivational, positive, and encouraging – definitely needed when the miles get tough!

Reply

‘cuz nothing makes me feel more alive than breathing hard and sweating and feeling my heart pumping. I guess that could describe a number of things….but….running is just running. It’s like exploring while making your body happy. Love it.

Reply

I NEVER did anything athletic. I started biking to rehab my knee. I was duped into training for a marathon by a friend. I ran with a group of 4 who killed me each time we ran. They were way faster and had been running for a long time. I got through the 20 miler then bruised a bone in my foot and was out for the marathon and swore to NEVER run again. My same friend once again talked me into training for the same Marathon (TCM) the next year. I started to LOVE the training. I have completed two marathons and am officially addicted. I love splits, sprints, fartleks, trails, pavement….just PLEASE let me run! It is my medication, meditation and my sanity. Running makes me a better wife, daughter, mother and friend. I have met some of my dearest friends running. It has saved my life.

I love to run because I love that sense of accomplishment that comes with knowing that I just ran six miles. Even though my legs hurt and I know that I am going to be sore the next day, it is ALWAYS worth it to push through the pain and run as far as I can. And let’s be real, it’s always nice giving your body a treat after a long run, especially anything involving peanut butter and chocolate!

I run to keep my head and heart healthy. Extra mile = extra cookie!

I run to remember who I am. As a nanny it was easy to get caught up in taking care of children. As a retail employee it was easy to get caught up in the needs of the customers. As an analyst it is easy to get caught up in work. When I’m not injured, running reminds me of who I am and why it is that I do what I do.

And why do I go the extra mile? I go the extra mile because I can. Because I know that I can say, with absolute certainty, that I will never regret it. I go that extra mile because it is there and I’m well aware that there are so many people in the world who will never get to experience the absolute joy of running endless miles.

Reply

I run to be healthy…and I. Can’t. Wait. To be ack to running after I have my baby…a garmin would be a big help!

I run to stay healthy and to be able to enjoy lot’s of sweets guilt free. I also run to get away from all the stress that everyday life can bring. Ooh! Would love a Garmin watch! I run bc it’s my “happy pill”. Running makes me feel awesome regardless of what’s going on or how I feel when I wake up in the morning. I run that extra mile bc either it just feels so good to keep on going or bc I want to treat myself later, food-wise.

Reply

Truthfully, I run so that I can get out of the house and have some me time. But it doesn’t hurt that it helps me to lose weight , stay in shape, and have that extra little treat now and then.

I run for the challenge! I’ve never been a runner. Never thought I could do it! But, as a Weight Watcher leader, I’ve seen amazing transformations by members who rarely got up off their couch and then they started walking then trained to run and completed 5Ks, and a few even went on to marathons! I thought… “I could do that!” And so I did! I trained with 5K101 and completed my 1st 5K on October 14 in 32:05 minutes! I did the Dash for Dad which benefited Prostate Cancer. I ran to honor my dad who was diagnosed earlier this year. And, this morning, I completed my 2nd 5K! I amaze myself every time I run! Never in a million years would I have thought I’d be a runner! But, I am!! I’ve accomplished many great things in life… but, this is among the top! :-)

I grew up in a family of gorgeous beauty queens and I was the one who was built like my dad, with “horribly” (according to me most of my life and certainly my teen years) muscular legs. It wasn’t until I grew comfortable with myself that I realized they were a gift. And that’s why I run…because I was built for it. I got past my eating disorders and disordered thinking and realized it was pretty awesome that I was given this strong body to run. It’s my free therapy and an identity that is all mine and separate from being a wife and stay-at-home mommy to my three littles. The extra mile? That comes when a power song comes on and I’m reminded that I’m kind of a badass.

Reply

I run because I have become addicted! I love the accomplishment after a good run and the motivation that comes after a bad one. It is such a cycle, but a great one to be on!
