Date night in our living room.

I saw this sandwich at Safeway and knew it had to be ours.  I grabbed it for me and Billy to eat on campus and it was incredible.  You just can’t go wrong with a hoagie filled with meat, cheese, tomatoes and lettuce.

You didn’t think I would skip posing with my lunch did you?

I absolutely love meeting Billy on campus for lunch.  It makes me feel like I am in college again minus all of the stress that goes along with silly tests and homework.

For the first time I saw Billy’s locker and instead of it being filled with books it was filled with snacks.  That’s my boy.

After lunch Brooke and I went on a really long walk.  Girlfriend loves her stroller and really loves being outside so walks are our favorite things to do together.  I have no idea what face I am making but I am purely posting this picture for Brooke’s sweet smile.

Another thing Brooke loves is watching baseball.  Sometimes I wonder if she got any of my DNA.

Brilly (Brooke & Billy) and I were planning on going out for a date night last night but decided to have date night at home instead because let’s be honest, we wanted to be in bed by 9.  Billy made us clam chowder and sourdough toast with butter while we watched the Giants’ game.

Today is going to be filled with my longest run post-baby (that makes me nervous), baby-showers, caramel apples and at least 2 naps.

Saturday night will be spent with 3 of my besties….my kiddos :) The Mr. is out of town so we will probably relax, eat pizza, and watch a silly movie.

I LOVED college but I wouldn’t really say I miss it. It was a fantastic time but I’m loving life as a “real” adult too.

I think my mom and I are practically twins! Enjoy your Saturday!

I went to school at the College of Charleston in SC and I definitely miss it. And I LOVE that billy has a locker!! We have them at my school but whenever I mention it people think I’m some weirdo for having a locker. But hello, it’s Chicago, where am I supposed to put my giant puffy coat all day??

OH MY STARS THAT SANDWICH! That looks amazing. Good luck on your long run. I know you’ll rock it.

I miss a lot of my college friends and I just graduated last year. Though, I think we have grown apart a bit. For me personally, I’ll always be closest with one of my high school friends (sadly…well good for her LOL she is teaching English to Chinese students in China) so I haven’t gotten to see her in a bit.

I just got back from a pizza cooking demonstration and so let’s just say my Saturday was filled with pizza ;)!

I absolutely do not miss college. I’m in graduate school right now. Hope your long run goes well!

When I worked at PetSmart, there was a manager who’s break room locker looked just like Billy’s! Having snacks in your locker are definitely more important that books.
I go to Appalachian State University, I’m a senior and I love it, I’ll be sad to graduate this year!

Living room date nights are the best! Enjoy your run. My longer runs will be starting soon as I am training for Miami marathon.

Billy = Hungry Runner Guy (according to that locker!! Epic! Love it!!)
It’s funny — some people tell me that I look a lot like my Dad, others say I look a lot like my Mom, but the two of them look nothing alike!! Same goes for my brothers. And none of the three of us look alike either … Perhaps we’re all just perfect blends of the two?
I worked the overnight shift last night, so today is for sleep, then studying, then running, and then back to work!!
Enjoy your run!! You’ll rock it I’m sure. :)
Ps. I think that your sandwich is the size of my femur … SO FABULOUS!!

You guys are all ridiculously beautiful :) You need a reality show!

I’m going for a short 5 miler, bringing my new puppy to the vet and to a playdate, going on date night, and carving pumpkins! I went to Concordia University, Saint Paul. I do miss it. I miss sitting down with a coffee and a snack all cozy to do my homework. I know, total nerd! I look like my dad but have my moms eyes. I also act totally like my dads side of the family :)

I still live in my college town so I get to enjoy the football and other perks without the hassle of classes, best of both worlds! My saturday is filled with work which explains why I am reading your blog at my desk at 8am;) you’ll do great on your run, have fun!!

My saturday is filled with soccer practice, 5 year old birthday party and halloween costume making. Probably no run, as much as I would love to. It would have to be treadmill for me, since my hubby is hunting all weekend and my babysitter is not available. Which would be fine….but the dog pooped downstairs yesterday, right near the treadmill and I just can’t bring myself to deal with it right now!!!

I miss college every day. I went to a small college in the Finger Lakes in NY, and I miss campus, the simplicity of my life (hello!? All I had to do was school work. I didn’t have to cook, or really clean or anything! And I could come and go whenever I wanted! And my best friends were right there with me! What’s not to miss!!!)

I look more like my mom, but I make facial expressions like my dad and his side of the family :)

Love love love Spikey-hair Brooke!!! Sooooo cute!

That sandwich looks amazing! Good luck on your run – you’ll do great! You’ve already been so constant with the running thing after Brooke.

These made me think of you!

I am still in college, so my day will consist of studying, possibly a workout on the TV, and making white chicken chili. To answer your last question, I look sooo much like my dad! Hope you all have a great weekend :)

Brilly!! That’s brilliant! Haha!

What a ginormous sandwich, love it.

I went to school in Scotland and love, love, loved it. The “real” world of full time work is so hard to adjust to!

I’m racing today. A 5k Color Run, no timing :( but I like the t-shirt and my husband is racing with me. Too bad I woke up way too early!

I loved college too much, never finished

I’m adopted so I don’t know but when you look at baby pictures….daughter and I look alike, son and husband look alike. Son once commented “I don’t remember that shirt” when looking at a photo album. It was his dad.

Date nights in are the BEST! Glad you had a fun time. Isn’t it great having a family? I’m sure you’ll rock that run tomorrow–no problem!

Yum! That sandwich looks great! I love a great sandwich any day. There are so many great sub places around. Even grocery stores!!
I’ve never heard of a locker on a college campus. That’s pretty cool! It definitely makes sense though because he spends so much time there. I went to a small private Christian college in Tennessee. I lived there. It was a great experience but I was so glad to move on. Everybody gets the itch to get out I think!
I stayed in last night too and watched some of the game. :)
Oh, I look more like my dad. Everyone says that. I act more like my mom though :)
Good luck with you run today. Have fun! You totally got this girl!!!

I am the spitting image of my dad. It’s almost scary.

Love college life, but you’re right it’s much better without the homework and tests. Have a great long run!

Off to a 10-mile run with my running group!
And I definitely take after my mama (in appearance AND in personality).

I’m pretty much down the middle on who I’m the most like in my family.

That sandwich looks like our dinner last night. We got footlongs from Subway and demolished them.

happy long run!!

My Saturday will be spent driving to Athens, GA and attending the AthHalf expo to pick up my bib for tomorrow’s half marathon. I went to college at the University of Georgia in Athens, GA and it will be my first time back since graduating 9 years ago! I think I look my like my Dad but everybody says I look just like my Mom.

Billy’s locker makes me giggle! Cute photo of them watching baseball.

Today is all about my daughter’s Homecoming dance!

I definitely miss being in college. I always get a little bit sad at the beginning of September because I see all the kids waiting at the bus stops and stuff and realize I won’t be able to do that anymore. But then I think of all the homework and studying and feel a little bit better :D

Reply

sending you positive vibes for your LR, janae! you’ll rock it!!
brilly -> love it!
i always hear i look like my mom – it bugged me when i was little! now i hear i look like my dad, so who knows?!
i am off to “work” – love my job at the running store so it does not feel like work!

good luck on your long run (you wont need it!) I wish i could say my saturday includes a run but my stupid stress fx is still healing:(

i graduated from trinity college last may and boy do I miss it. Real world is not like college life at all…….talk about living in a bubble.

Reply

I miss the ease of college life. Yes, homework was stressful, but paying bills and being in the real world is stressful too :).

My saturday is going to be filled with froyo, a long run, and pumpkin carving :), so excited!!!

I look more like my dad…..i think lol

I was going to do my long run of 11 miles but at about 430 am, decided that wasn’t happening. A crappy nights sleep, sore calves, core, etc. So it will get pushed to tomorrow.
I went to college in NC and LOVED it. I missed it at first, but not now. Now I don’t even want to go back. Too many post-college people trying to pretend they are still in school.

I can’t say I miss college at all. I’m odd in that I always did very well in school, and hated it. I think it’s because I don’t like to sit down for that long!
I don’t look too much like either parent, but I do look almost exactly like one of my siblings (he also lives in New Orleans, and he has earned the nickname “Baby Grace” around town!) so we must be the mix of something!

Reply

College was the best! Although part of it was having so much freedom but still not having to be a real adult (like, food is prepared FOR you, and once you’ve paid tuition, you don’t have to worry about silly things like rent).

Reply

Driving to Moab today to get ready for tomorrows half marathon. Yeah for hanging out with girlfriends!
I went to a lot of colleges (including BYU – we weren’t a good match) but ended up at Westminster in SLC getting my nursing degree after my divorce and with 4 small kids. I have no idea how I did it, it’s kind of a blur. But I do bring it up as much as possible because I like to brag.
I look like both my parents but mostly like my dad’s sister and I have my dad’s Type A personality.
Billy is very smart – who needs books when you have brain food?

I am pretty sure I have the same dining room set as you! We got ours from Ikea, and we bought some seat covers for them there too. I have only ruined one of the seat covers, yay! And my Saturday is full of laundry and studying. As usual.

I just got back from a 5k and pr-ed with 20:26! I’m a senior in college now and depressed that I’m almost done. My best friends from study abroad go to Santa Clara and I’m always so jealous of them it’s so gorgeous!

YAYYYY GIANTS WON!!!! That was such a good game- I stayed in with my hubby and we watched it, too. We are SO married, hehe. And Brooke’s sweet smile is too precious!! That sandwich looks amazing, too. My Saturday is going to be filled with a Jillian workout, dinner at my brother-in-law’s house, maybe a movie and mayyybe washing my hair. But that last one is obviously not a priority ;)
I went to California State University of Sacramento, hollerrrr!! :) I LOVEd it, and yes I do miss it! I love school in general. #nerdalert. And I look like a mix of my mom and my dad. :)

I went to Stanford, but moved away after graduation to work in a different state. Thankfully, my company transfered me back to the bay area a few months ago, so I’m able to spend tons of time with all of my college friends who stayed in the area! College was hands down the most amazing 4 years and I cherish those since I found my best friends through college activities. Today is our Big Game against Cal – so there will be plenty of college bonding time in Palo Alto today! :)
And omg – I look like my mom’s twin.

I went to the University of Florida (Go Gators!) and I loved it. I would love to go back and visit the campus, but I don’t miss the stress! ;)

I miss nearly everything about college – the learning, going to class, the camaraderie of college life but definitely not stressing about finishing papers thisclose to the deadline! Good luck on the run!

Tonight is date night and we are headed to see the movie Argo. I love Ben Affleck’s movies — I think he is a great actor and director — so I’m excited for the movie.

I went to Duke and definitely miss it. I live in Oregon so most of my college friends are on the east coast and I don’t see them often. :(

Love the picture of the sandwich! Now I’m hungry (again)!!

Reply

Omg how have I not run into you guys on campus yet?! My locker in on the 2nd floor lol but I keep NOTHING in it haha, what a waste of $40. That’s a good idea to keep snacks in it. Btw, how does Billy get to bed at 9pm?! I am up doing reading until 3am almost daily ! :( I haven’t had time to really run or hit the gym yet, especially with finals coming up but we should definitely meet up some time after finals! If I see you on campus I shall say hi, but lets be honest, I am either in the lawbrary or in class :(

My Saturday was filled with going to Food & Wine at Disney’s Epcot then watching the Gators play football.

I went to the University of Florida and am a die-hard Gators fan! I miss college terribly!

I used to look a lot more like my dad, but now I think I look a lot more like my mom.

My Saturday was filled with Gator football and shopping with the future in-laws :)

I went to a college in Florida but we didn’t have football and since I grew up in Orlando (gator nation) I am naturally a gator fan!!
Season ticket holders so we spent some time in the swamp!

I look like my mommy :)

I went to LSU! I just graduated in May and I miss it so much. The real world sucks in comparison to how awesome college was! haha!

I look exactly like my mom. People will come up to me in public who knew her when she was younger and be like are you her daughter because you look exactly like her. I have gotten used to it!

Reply

I look exactly like my mom. We even sound the same when we speak. People on the phone think I’m her all the time.

I do miss college. All you had to worry about were tests and homework. And I miss the routine of it.

My Saturday night was spent cuddled up with my husband and cat, watching movies and relaxing after a 20-mile run.
