I’m not running right now due to injury, but here are my wishful thinking answers!

2. 1/2 marathon (although I haven’t completed one yet due to silly hip injuries)

7. Something carby(toast, oatmeal, cereal) that also involves PB and Banana

Yes I noticed Brooke wearing your running shorts :) I prefer shorts too, so she has good taste!
As for shoes, I like Mizumo but I think Brooke better stick to Brooks :)
Candy is for SURE the best fuel – jelly beans anyone??
I’ve only ever done the half marathon distance as a race, it was SO FUN but I’m kind of itching for that 26.2…
music sometimes, I know I”m in good shape when I can go without it on a long run :) my problem is that I get bored of listening to the same playlist over and over yet never make new ones.
What else…I love running for stress reliever, endorphins, and because its just plain FUN!!

I’m totally doing an olympic distance tri this weekend ONLY because my coach says I can eat candy corn during the bike leg. And doc says I’m only supposed to have carbs/sugar during long, long workouts, so this is my only chance.

1. FUEL: Don’t quite run long enough yet – when I worked up to 5-6 miles I’d eat a GU Chomp or have a cough drop which I actually loved while runnin gin the cold!

2. Race Length: 5k .. 10k is my next goal!

3. Workout Bottoms: Anything but pants… I love tempo shorts, skirts, Lululemon run speed shorts, and most low rise capris.

4. Sports Drink: water or GU lemon lime mixer

5. Running Temperatures: Cold bc you warm up while running.. then again I’m in TX so my idea of cold is skewed lol

6. Running Shoe Brands: Hmm I’ve loved several.. my longest loves were Asics then Mizunos.. but I love my newbalance minimus sneakers now. They aren’t too minimums.. if that even makes sense. lol!

2. Race Length: At this point in time, a 5k doesn’t feel like I’m pushing myself. I love being signed up for a half marathon, because I have that as motivation to keep on it. I loved the last half I did.

3. Workout Bottoms: Capris for me! I have super muscular thighs, so they tend to rub together unless I have some form of material between them…but full length pants seem like unnecessary added weight.

4. Sports Drink: Water all the way while running. Chocolate milk after!

5. Running Temperatures: Prefer to run in the cold, because running heats you up. Although, there’s nothing better than finishing your run, dripping sweat off your body. Unfortunately, it’s hard for me to attain, unless it’s hot out.

6. Running Shoe Brands: I had been a New Balance fan until I just got the most amazing pair of Asics! They are the Asics Gel Blur 33-2.0 and I love them so much I had to go back and buy myself another pair.

7. Pre-race meal: Half a banana and oatmeal, with soy milk.

8. Rest Days: 1 or 2 per week, depending on intensity of work performed.

9. Music: Either/or. I love to run to awesome music, but sometimes it’s nice to just hear the world around you.

SO FUN!!!

1. FUEL: I’m obsessed with the Vega sports gels. they have bits of coconut in them! the Hammer Espresso Gel is pretty darn delicious too you get that extra boost of caffeine!)

2. Race Length: 1/2 Marathon for sure! though I will run shorter races, i just love 13.1!

3. Workout Bottoms: Shorts (I have these great stretchy yoga shorts that make me feel super fast! All mind over matter I know haha), and Capris or running tights when it’s cold.

5. Running Temperatures: Cold 100%. I love running in cold temps! It doesn’t take long to warm up! Though I have run i temps where the first few miles I couldn’t feel my legs… THAT was no fun. have you experienced that before??

7. Pre-race meal: Gluten free bread with loads of peanut butter, banana, and sometimes honey. The best! And I have a packet of Green Vibrance as well. I swear it makes a difference!

8. Rest Days: No rest days. I’m a crazy person haha Though I do have ‘lighter’ less intense days. i typically run 4 miles a day and save my long runs and seed work for the weekends. I’ve been doing this consistently for over a year now no problemo! But it did take training to get to the point to be able to run 4 miles a day easy peasy.

9. Music: Usually I never listen to music. Running is very, very meditative for me. Sometimes I will listen to trance though.

2- I love them all for different reasons. But I think halfs. Challenging, but I can still workout again Monday and not be too sore. This last Monday after the marathon, I could barely go to the bathroom without help. For reals.
3- Depends – short distances, capris. Longer – Running skirts, Super long – compression shorts. I have yet to find a pair of running shorts that don’t make me look like I am wearing a diaper

5- I always knew I like cold best, and after the friggin hottest marathon ever, it only confirmed it. I can always layer more if it is cold…I can only take off so much when it is hot.
6-Whatever feels good. I love my nikes, asics and most recently mizuno.

8- I can’t run back to back days very often. But I cross train on my days off from running and take 1 complete day of rest a week,

5. Running temps. Between hot and cold, I’d say cold with no ice. Overall prefer 50 degrees

I just ran my first race ever on Saturay – a super hilly 1/2 marathon – I have my eye on a second 1/2 marathon in December but my ultimate goal is an ultra one day – a 50 miler :) You inspire me because we are open to getting pregnant at some point in the future (aka no b/c anymore) and that scares me because I’m just getting started and don’t want all of my goals derailed but you made a quick come back and if I prepare, so can I!

Running shorts – whoever came up with the idea of built in underwear is a GENIUS!

3. Workout Bottoms: Shorts when it’s hot and capri’s when it’s cool. My long Nike cold pants when it’s freezing. I haven’t found a running skirt I like.

I find the Honey Stinger at a local running store, but I have purchased via Amazon as well. Personally, I like the waffles (delicious and almost “treat” like) and the chews are pretty fantastic too.

When I run, water. After I run, coconut water!!! Or muscle milk!

HEAT. NO QUESTION.

6. Running Shoe Brands: Suacony, Mizuno, Nike, Brookes, Asics or Other?

Mizuno!!! And I really love the one’s in your picture!!! I wanted that color but the store didn’t have them :(

7. Pre-race meal: Oatmeal, Bagel, Banana, Eggs, Cereal or Other?

Oatmeal always

8. Rest Days: 1x per week, 2x per week, never ever ever or Other?

I think its really important to take one

I like it, but I also like podcasts. Running with people is better though!

10. #1 reason for running: stress-relief, endorphins, you love to race, so you can eat all the cupcakes you want, weight-loss, love running for social reasons or Other?

All of the above :) And runner’s high. Pushing yourself to the absolute limit. Feeling great about it. All of that. I want to collapse at the finish of a race one day because I know I gave everything I had!!!

10. I started running for weight loss but then I fell in love with running in general! I love the “me” time, I love how strong and energized I feel after, I love the runners high and I love that I’m setting a good example for my kids. Nothing better than hearing “going for a run mama?” Every time I put on my runners :). The toned thighs don’t hurt either :)
