We don’t have internet in our apartment until next Friday (I go to the club house to post) and so that is why I haven’t been responding to comments!  I read them all from my phone and appreciate SO much everything that you say, the encouragement and keeping up with how you are doing!

Hey, Brooke is just telling it like it is:)

DSC 3282

One stand for the tv= 500 different pieces.  I have never once in my lifetime put together a piece of furniture from Ikea correctly.  One time I bought a nightstand but somehow put it together as a ladder.

DSC 3283

I was in charge of putting the kitchen together which is perfect because it makes snack breaks every 4 minutes for grapes really easy.  The hardest part about putting together the kitchen was determining which drawer to use for a candy stash.  We ended up choosing a cupboard because nothing else was big enough or sturdy enough for all of the candy I will be filling it with.

DSC 3284

My absolute favorite part of the apartment to organize is Brooke’s stuff.  My clothes are all shoved into a duffle bag and I am guessing I will keep it that way until at least Thanksgiving break.  My stuff is boring, her stuff is awesome.

DSC 3286

I ate a bowl of cereal and I was hungry 45 minutes later for some grapes, turkey, yogurt and I have some good news…  PEANUT BUTTER is delicious again.  I haven’t liked it for months and now all of the sudden I just had to have a pb and strawberry jam sandwich.  My love for peanut butter is back and not just in the form of these cookies.

I spy a little tiny foot.

Miss you baby girls! (And Billy too!)

Reply

Love IKEA! Although my engineer husband has to put it together for me. I have a nightstand/ladder type of incident too.

Reply

aww, the tiny foot!
crunchy pb for me, but smooth for the hubby. for some reason we always buy smooth, but if we buy crunchy…it’s all for me:)

Reply

Omg, I hate those Ikea things too! They are crazy to put together.

I just love to see pictures of Brooke! So cute and glad you are documenting every moment, it goes by way fast!

Reply

I still just can’t even get over how adorable she is! So cute! Aren’t little baby things the cutest? I love shopping for baby shower gifts just because the little outfits are the cutest things ever!

I love crunchy peanut butter!

Most organized room is probably our living room!

I love IKEA! My desk is from there, along with a lot of our fake potted plants and decorations!

Reply

Ha ha the most organized room is our daughter’s nursery. I care so much more about her outfits it’s pretty funny (but totally normal, I hear). That onesie is RAD, I want one for our little boy due in November.

Reply

SMOOTH SMOOTH SMOOTH. Who am I kidding? Any peanut butter is fine.
The kitchen and my office (I work from home) are the most organized.
We do have Ikea furniture. And it usually comes with one picture and a little, tiny allen wrench. I expect to see “Good Luck” under the picture.

Brooke is too cute! And IKEA furniture takes FOREVER to put together. My dresser and night table from there took an entire day to assemble. I wish I was kidding.

HOORAY for Peanut Butter love again! I’m a smooth girl.

Reply

I am an IKEA building master. But we no longer have very much IKEA stuff. Our most organized room is our bedroom…because it has the least stuff in it :)

Reply

Aww Brooke is just adorable :)

My most organised cupboard is my fitness and running stuff alongside shoes. Normal clothes are overrated!

I went to ikea last weekend and bought a coffee table! I created it in 46 minutes! I felt like super woman. Haha… it doesn’t take much!

Reply

Love crunchy peanut butter over oatmeal! Or by the spoonful ;)

Be careful, as soon as Brooke is crawling she’s going to be able to open up that lower candy cabinet pretty easily :) Although you’ll probably be happy to have a daughter who loves candy as much as you do!

Reply

I would like to think my whole house is an organized mess…but, I also want to think I am a fast runner….hahaha! (so know THAT’S not true) I guess my my entire house is kind of messy than too. (shoot…)

Creamy peanut butter all the way…..

And I only went to IKEA once…dislike. ;-(

Reply

her closet looks so cute!! And I never shop at Ikea because I know I fail at putting things together too haha

Reply

Oh boy! I discovered IKEA for the first time last month and was overwhelmed with all of it. Thank goodness they have food halfway through because that was the only thing that kept me going. I wish that their boxes of furniture came with food too, because you definitely need a snack when trying to tackle its assembly.

Brooke is so. darn. cute!

Liz’s comment above is so true – you will totally need to baby-proof that candy-cupboard!

I wish I could like crunch pb, but it is always smooth pb for me. Glad to hear that your like for it is back!!

Reply

Don’t worry about replying to comments, just rest and enjoy your little girl!

We go to Ikea all the time, we’re addicted!

Reply

Crunchy, living room, no ikea stuff. Brooke is so cute! Hope you get settled in soon! :)

Reply

Oh my! I need to get your address so I can send you some of the jam I made yesterday! Makes a perfect PB&J sandwich!

Reply

most organized is the living room. we do have ikea furniture like our bed and such, but just got rid of our college loveseat for a MONSTEr couch that like 4 people could stretched out and sleep on.

I am a fan of smooth peanut butter :) glad you can resume your love affair with it!

Reply

Creamy pb is my favorite. And most organized area is my makeup/skin care area. Is it wrong that I am in college but still want a little stuffed lamb like the one Brooke has up on the shelf? I am sure if I saw her wardrobe I would be equally jealous.

Reply

I pay extra money to not buy put together furniture. I cannot stand putting it together. Glad that you have Billy around to help.

Reply

First of all…that is the cutest onesie EVER!
My husband and I have quite a bit of IKEA furniture in our condo and my husband had to put ALL of it together…I don’t have the skill/patience to decipher the instructions and connect all the pieces. My job was to provide him with tasty snacks and beverages while he was putting the furniture together and then to give him a neck rub after. We have a good arrangement going. ;-)
It makes me happy that you have a taste for Peanut Butter again!! I used to only buy the natural, organic way healthy peanut butter but I recently went on vacation with a friend who brought Jif natural and I am now obsessed it with. I know it’s not as healthy but I don’t care…it’s so good. I like smooth and crunchy but normally buy smooth.

Lastly…OMG, that foot is so cute!

Reply

UGH my desk is from IKEA. I am NOT looking forward to putting it together, especially after seeing that photo of Billy ….lol

Reply

Definitely crunchy peanut butter!! Last week I accidentally bought a jar of creamy peanut butter in a hurry and once I realized my mistake at home, well, you can imagine the disappointment. I’m also not willing to buy another one (too cheap maybe?) until I’m out, so I’m suffering through this jar.

Reply

Maybe make PB cookies to get rid of it quicker? :)

Reply

I made peanut butter granola tonight to use a little up :)

Reply

Oh my gosh, I LOVE Brooke’s onesie! And since you’re such a Speedy McSpeedster (even when pregnant!) it’s so fitting. I have a few pieces of furniture from Ikea–my nightstands and a chair + ottoman–and I really like them.

Reply

Haha love this post. You guys are superparents to be putting together a house with a newborn! I wish I could be there to help you organize! How are you feeling??!

Reply

is it sad that i know what episode of friends that is?! the one where rachel is goes to her pretend “regada gala” :)

Reply

It is so sad that I know which episode of Friends that is.

loving the little feet!!!

Reply

Love the little foot in the picture. Baby feet are the cutest!
Good luck to Billy with that Ikea furniture..I am the same way as you..I have the hardest time putting it together. I did one by myself, and ended up putting on one of the boards backwards. Perfect…lol!
I’m happy for you that your peanut butter love is back :D

Reply

When I moved away from home to go to law school I basically furnished my entire apartment with Ikea. Dressers, tables, chairs, lamps you name it. Spent hours putting it all together but seeing the final product all put together and knowing that I had done it on my own was great.

Reply

I have so much Ikea furniture it’s ridiculous! Bookcases, shelves, tv stand, and the most awesome chair ever: the poang chair. Luckily I have a boyfriend to put it all together cause I’m hopeless in Ikea furniture construction. I also love Ikea cause when we go to the one in Minnesota (directly across from the Mall of America) we always have to eat lunch–swedish meatballs, mashed potatoes and gravy. And lingonberry pop. My mouth is drooling now. Too bad it’s so far away! I want one in Iowa.

Reply

AWww, she is so precious… I love how she’s just hanging out on the living room floor in her boppy while your hunny is putting the living room together!
Congrats on getting your love back for PB!
The smell of BBQ makes me absolutely want to vomit now days, and my husband is on a huge BBQ kick. I’m currently hiding in the bedroom while he eats a pulled pork salad because I can’t stomach the aroma…….He just doesn’t understand. If he did, he’d be warming it up on the pavement instead of our microwave and eating that crap outside.

Reply

I’ve never even been in an Ikea! I had never even heard of it until I started reading blogs. lol There aren’t any in TN.

Reply

I think all of my furniture has come from IKEA, Costco, or KSL classifieds. lol. We like to keep it classy here.

I am so happy that you love PB again! Now I am going to bake you all the PB treats you have missed out on in the last 9 months and send them to you. Good. And I like both crunchy and smooth. Depends on what I am eating it with/on.

I love that you have all her stuff unpacked, but not yours. It really is more fun to dress babies/kids than yourself.

I want to how you are holding up/how recovery is going. I know it can be rough. I remember laying in bed thinking ‘I am feeling just about every emotion possible right now and it feels so strange. I don’t even now how to feel.’ Does that even make sense? Well, any who, I am glad she is gaining weight and you don’t have the stress of that anymore – it seems ya’ll are doing well. I am thinking of ya!

Reply

I some times wish I didn’t love PB as much as I do–I go through a jar a week! yikes! It’s the only food that keeps me full for 5+ hours and I need that to survive my teaching and p-training schedule. Oh, and creamy all the way!
I’ve never bought anything from IKEA, but I did put together all 4 of our barstools a few years ago. Most importantly, they are still sturdy and held together.
My closet is defintely the most organized part of my house. Good luck getting organized.

Reply

You are crazy..smooth all the way! haha
Probably my kitchen, or livingroom since there is not much to organize in there ;)
I love Ikea, but I do not love putting their furniture together!
Love all the photos of Brooke, she looks like a total sweetheart!

Reply

LOVE brooke’s little shirt! it’s true ;)

and ikea is sooooo dangerous! LOVE that place! my tv stand and dresser are both from there! also, about a million pillows that i have are from ikea and lots of other random stuff, because i cannot say no there. did you get a cinnamon roll? and the hot dog combo? soooooo good!!! and the fro yo!! omg please tell me you got the fro yo cone!

Reply

Oh she is so stinking cute! I’m a big crunchy PB fan but latey I’ve been alllll about homemade almond butter! I literally eat a jar of it a week, I need to be stopped.

We have a lot of IKEA furniture but my boyfriend puts it all together and I “supervise”. I’m pretty sure the furniture would be a complete failure if it were up to me!

Welcome to Northern CA!!

Reply

You are sooo giving me baby fever! My kiddos are 10 and 13! Little Brooke is such a doll!
I love crunchy pb but everyone in the house loves smooth, they usually win out.
We don’t have an IKEA even in our state! I wish we did though!

Reply

My entire apartment if from Ikea, but yall are brave for attempting to assemble it while taking care of a new born at the same time!
I’m so happy for you that your love of pb is back wohooo!

Reply

I purchased a tv stand from Ikea a few months ago on sale for my move out of state next month… I can never build things from Ikea. This picture reminds me of why that was a bad idea, I forgot my dresser debacle up until that point. Your daughter is gorgeous, congrats you two! You make darling babies.

Reply

I love chunky PB, ALWAYS. I don’t have an Ikea nearby, but whenever we go to the Bay Area, we stop. We’ve got a list for our next trip already!

Reply

Little Brooke is so cute!! Love her shirt :)

I choose…..almond butter!!!

My suitcase is the most organized thing in my house hahahaha

Never bought anything from Ikea but went there once and would love to go again haha it was so huge, so much fun to just look around and wander, wow, can’t believe I just said that…..

Reply

Is that a beauty mark above her lip!? If it is, she’s going to be a model. I can just feel it. She’s gorgeous.

The most organized space of my house? Hmmm – now that I think about it, I’m not as organized as I truly think I am. Maybe my closet?

Reply

Brooke Lin onesie is soo precious!

Not much of a pb fan but I prefer smooth over crunchy.

We have alot of target.com furniture (FREE shipping) it also comes in alot of pieces but once you put together its sturdy and you dont have to fuss with it anymore!

I’d say that all the rooms are equally organized except the bedroom probably doesn’t look organized but it’s organized chaos, mostly work/runnning clothes laying around.

SO today (sunday, aug 19) makes me 2 weeks out from my first HALF! But I have some concerns everytime I run more than 10 mi I am out of commission for a few hours, and usually have an upset stomach the rest of the day which I can deal with but its not exactly fun. Yesterday the GI stress happened during my run and I had to stop twice and use a portajohn (gross! and hot!) and wasnt able to complete my long run (did 7 out of the planned 12). Don’t know, but I am going to try and get it in tomorrow!

Reply

It’s hard for me to believe you birthed a baby less than a week ago! You are superwoman. Mybe that’s part of the blessing of being so active during your pregnancy.
I have a few bookcases from Ikea and since I’m crazy and like all of my hangers to match, I buy all of my wood hangers from there too.
My closet is pretty organized.
P.S. Brooke is so adorable. Her cheecks are so sweet.

Reply

YAY for husband’s who put stuff together!!

LOVE Brooke’s shirt! I’ve never shopped/bought something at Ikea, but we will soon (and he’ll put it together, I am sure.) Most organized room: the kitchen.

Reply

I had a lot of stuff from Ikea in my house from Canada, and I liked it a lot, although I can’t say it’s that well built. We recently moved into a furnished apartment in Bangkok, and EVERYTHING is from Ikea – furniture, finishings, plates, etc. The property manager went nuts. While I still like the concept, I have to say – it’s a little bit much :)

I’m impressed that you guys are managing to build furniture with a new baby! I found it challenging enough with zero distractions.

Reply

We have a lot of stuff from Ikea – but I do not recommend couches as the quality is usually pretty bad. Bookshelves, tables, kitchen stuff is all fine.

If I was living in the US i would be probably searching for stuff on craigslist! (here in China it is not as popular)Always cheaper and sometimes you can get really nice stuff!;-)

CRUNCHY!

Reply

I love Brooke’s shirt, all the stuff in her closet, and her randomly in photos. She looks so tiny amongst all the Ikea stuff!
I’d have to say that out of our whole house, only one room is organized, our family room on the main floor. The rest may appear to be organized, but they have messes in drawers, cupboards, and closets!

Reply

CRUNCHY for the win!!!!!!!!!

Reply

Love Ikea for the price, look, and fun maze of a store, but my engineer husband is the one that puts it together lol.

Reply

Haha her foot is too cute! I love that you have Friends on! Can we please hangout one day when I move to California? :) Is your candy magically tilted! I love all PB, but crunchy is hands-down the best. I take that back—when peanut butter is surrounded by chocolate is it’s best form. My kitchen/fridge is definitely my top priority!

Reply

Brooke’s top is soooo cute!!
Crunchy v smooth causes huge debate in my house. I am defintately in favor of smooth.

Reply

Welcome home!
Will you be getting another teaching job or stay at home mommy?

Reply

Smooth peanut butter all the way- spreads better and doesn’t get stuck all over your mouth ;)! NOt sure about the most organised room in my home but I can tell you the one which is the least organised- my closet…yikes!

Reply

Brooke is just sooo perfect! well done guys, sooo happy for you! And you are all looking so well and happy, that is the best! Love all your posts about your new wee precious bundle and your new motherhood adventures. And I am soooo totally a crunchy PB girl, crunchy all the way!

Reply

wah! what a cute little foot! glad PB is back in your life again. shame that it was ever gone!

Reply

We have loads of furniture from ikea. None of it makes sense.

Brooke is such a cutie.

Reply

I used to only eat chunky peanut butter, but Mike got me switched to smooth.

The most organized room in our house is probably my office. It’s still semi messy, but it has order.

Reply

She is telling it like it IS in my case ;) Love seeing her pictures and that last one with her little tiny foot sticking out is precious!

Reply

We’re planning to get all our baby furniture from Ikea, but I think I’m just going to lock my husband in the nursery with it and keep myself busy doing something else. Putting together furniture seems like the only thing I’d be worse at than playing volleyball.

Reply

Good luck with moving in!!! Baby clothes are the best, aren’t they??

Reply

I am a total blog stalker and have been for a couple years. I must comment (finally!) to tell you a massive congrats! Your daughter is lovely, and so is her name! BEST GIRL NAME EVER! ((I guess I should note I am a bit partial-that is my only daughter’s name and she was born with a ton of hair like your Brooke’s and now she’s 13 and the prettiest, happiest, best daughter ever! The Brookes in the world really go places!) :) I wish you a LIFETIME of kisses, hugs, smiles, giggles, snuggles, and FUN!

Reply

If I lived near an Ikea, everything in my house would be from there! However, the closest one is over 6 hours away, so I’ve only been once (although I do drool over the catalogs all the time). We have a dresser, two pantry shelves, and a cube shelf from there.

I love crunchy and creamy pb – it depends on my mood.

The most organized room in our house is probably the kitchen.

Reply

ha ha! The most organized room in my house is my daughter’s room. I love putting away her tiny little clothes :) Isn’t it the best?

Reply

Brooke is so cute!!

No furniture from IKEA but we did buy a dresser from target that my fiancé and I put together…no bickering either but the dresser didn’t make it through our most recent move.

Brooke is so cute!!!! I can get over her :)

Reply

I’m glad you’re back to liking peanut butter. I hope you don’t mind, but I made up for your PB eating deficit by having your share of it over the last few months. I’m all about the crunchy stuff!

Most organized room in my house? My roommate’s bathroom (It’s not even mine!) Haha!

I’ve never shopped at IKEA. I’ve bought furniture online and put it together only with the help of my brother/dad. Good time to bond with the dudes in my life! :)

Kiss the teeny feet!!

Reply

Peanut Butter = CRUNCHY, CRUNCHY, CRUNCHY!

Most organized room – the kitchen!

Ikea – never bought a single thing from there.

Reply

Crunchy and I die over that little onesy!

Reply

i seem to be in the minority but i love SMOOTH pb!! i love love to read about you and that gorgeous baby! never feel like you are posting to many pics she is so freakin cute. your blog really is one of my fave things to read all day!

Reply

Super Crunchy Skippy peanut butter for sure. My bedroom set + guest bedroom is all Ikea + office desk. It’s easier for me to follow pictures than written instructions, I guess. BTW, Crate & Barrel have super easy assembly instructions for their furniture.

Reply

want to run CIM with us?

Reply

So cute glad your both doing well. Peanut butter crunchy or smooth, I like either one:)

Reply

Almost all of my furniture is IKEA, haha, it`s sad. And peanut butter has got to be crunchy! Anything else? No thanks! I just came home from vacation only to discover that the dogsitter ate my second-to-last glass of PB.. and it is SO damn hard to get here in Hungary.
Love Brooke`s outfit!

Reply

I have alot of Ikea furniture and it’s crazy to put it together, the directions are not really easy to read and there are always a million pieces! lol

Reply

Crunchy and Smooth. Are you crazy. I will take PB in almost any form. I even love PB2.

Yes, and my dresser that my fiancee and I put together… is already experiencing issues (6 weeks later).

I don’t exactly do organization at this point :( been moving too much.
