What will I do without my Sunday night parties?

I am just going to tell you now that there are way too many pictures in this post but I am pretty sure I have never laughed so hard in a 3 hour span and so I have to document it fully.  Don’t even ask how I am going to deal with moving away from these people because the thought of it sends me into crying/shaking/dark/sad place.  Will someone adopt us into their family in N. Cali?

First, the newly engaged couple!  He felt jealous that he didn’t have a ring to hold up so he wanted to hold the wolf plate up for the picture.  I totally approve of him (I take it very serious when new people want to join the family;) and I have never seen my cousin happier.

We were celebrating the above cousin’s bday (on Tuesday) and Billy’s bday last night and what better way to celebrate it than a ridiculous amount of food.

DSC 2570

Billy chose burgers and the cousin chose salmon.  I went back for 3rds of the salmon and the potato salad.  The green fluff is a jello salad and please note the bowl of goodness that my grandma brought, she always brings the best fruit.  The cantaloupe was especially good.

DSC 2575

Garages aren’t made for cars they are made for ping pong tables.  Just have to brag about my husband for a second, he is pretty much undefeated when it comes to ping pong.  Feel free to challenge him at anytime.

DSC 2576

My family loves giving food for people’s birthdays.  Along with the food he got a Outback gift card (he even said he would take me with him if I was good) and lots of new running gear.

DSC 2581

Flaming hot cheetos are his absolute favorite.  Good job mom!

Once again Billy chose the chocolate cake with chocolate frosting for his cake which I had and actually kind of like.  Body, please don’t be playing a mean joke on me and go back to not liking chocolate again.  My chocolate aversion had to have been the hardest part of my pregnancy so far, I bet labor will be even easier than it was going through my break-up with chocolate.

DSC 2587

Kids eating cake is always one of my favorite things to see.

DSC 2591

The highlight of my life happened when my grandma had whipped cream straight from the can.  I almost went into labor I was laughing so hard.  My aunt had to get me a cold washcloth because I was sweating and bright red to help cool me down after seeing this.

DSC 2594

That chocolate cake has some special ingredients in it because shortly following it we had a dance off.

DSC 2597

Our friend in the blue shirt used to be an NBA mascot for the Miami Heat and so he showed us some of his stellar moves. It was one of those nights that you never ever want it to end.

That does look like a night you don’t want to end. I am happy just reading this post.
Dancing, absolutely love. Dancing, in public, happened at someone’s wedding last summer.
This week I am looking forward to trying some speed work at the track. This is a new little running push for me.

What an awesome family fun night:) that pic of you grandma is HILARIOUS. so fun. I am not a big dancer, I don’t mind it, but I’m just not great at it. So I stay away:)
I am most looking forward to some good running and getting my blog put back together – trying to get it self hosted and it is a bit more of a nightmare than I thought! Fingers crossed! Have a great day:)

Oh my goodness I’m just laughing reading this post…looks like so much fun! Your family sure know how to throw a party :)! Flaming Hot Cheetos are the best…although they need to come with a disclaimer about being served with water or milk…even a few is enough to set my mouth on fire!

Reply

That looks like a great party with family!!! Haha my family is definitely not that much fun (or as big!), but at least I have Molly (my brother’s 1 year old golden retriever) who definitely makes up for any lack of energy or excitement! She’s fantastic! Haha

**First i must say that i’m real “mad”. i totally just wrote you a story pretty much, went to submit my comment and i lost internet connection.. and now i must retype everything.. grr!

hahahahha i love the picture of your grandma taking back whip cream like it’s her job. She is by far the cutest thing ever!! It looks like you and your family had such a great time!! I’m actually kinda jealous of all that yummyyy looking food ya’ll have :(… and that cake, pleaseee mail some to kuwait.. k thanks!

–Eh i do not like hot cheetos @ all.. actually come to think of it, i don’t really like cheetos. I’m not sure what it is about them, but bleh. Ohh parties were a big deal in our household growing up! When my brother & i were younger, we were the twins that had parties where barney came to visit, we had horse rides in the back yards.. and what could be better than having 2 cakes for everyone to eat (i mean you had to have a girl cake, and a boy cakee!).

Ehh i’m kinda/sorta not looking forward to this weekend for one reason.. Ramadan starts here. Hubby and I most likely won’t be leaving the house much this upcoming month, with an exception of my mile walk to the gym. When you go out you have to be fully clothed, from ya head to ya toes.. and not allowed to eat/drink anything outside :( boo!!

Reply

BOO to your internet going out…lame!! I am so glad you loved the picture of my gma and I will totally send you some cake:) You are a TWIN..that is awesome! WOW, I had no idea that you couldn’t drink/eat outside during Ramadan!

Reply

okay i’ll be waiting for that pkg of deliciousness (yes i realize i may be waiting for a veryyyy long time haha).

yes, imma twin… and a minute older :). Yes during the days when they are fasting your not allowed to eat/drink/smoke anything while your outside. Restaurants and everything are closed later on @ night. I’m gonna be looking like i’m about to rob a bank everytime I leave the house w/ the whole everything has to be covered rule. It truly is gonna be a longgg month :(.

Every year we went up to North Georgia to Burt’s Pumpkin Farm and had my dad’s side of family celebrate my birthday there, (its great having an October birthday) It happened every year until I moved to Orlando 3 years ago, but it was a big deal. It was full of boiled peanuts, hay rides around the pumpkin patches and then a beautiful waterfall hiking trip afterwards.

Birthdays are definitely a big deal. In fact the girls in my family all went out for sushi last night to celebrate my mom’s b-day. I absolutely love the photo of your grandma enjoying the whipped cream! So cute!

Reply

I have not been dancing in over a year! It is fun sometimes, I am not the best dancer though!
They were, my Mom always decorated the house, made us a special breakfast and my Grandparents even decorated the yard! Then we always went out for bday supper with the family too. I still make bdays a big deal around our house!
It is our local fair, oh and I am going to a blogger meet-up!

This week I am looking forward to our driving being OVER. We are moving from NC to AZ this week and have to drive 3 cats and 2 dogs across the country.

My BIL gave me cheetos for Christmas last year. Best present ever.

I wish there was video of the dance party. You guys are awesome.

Props to hungry runner cousin’s fiance on the wolf plate. Rylee has a t-shirt w/ a howling wolf set on front of an American flag. Pretty sure she’d fit right in to your fam.
We have birthday weeks on our family do I’d say they are a pretty big deal.

Reply

Rylee really would fit right in. Gotta get her and my BIL together:) Bday weeks are the BEST…I would fit right in with your family!

Let’s not worry about how you are going to handle being away from the family, what are we going to do without these fun posts? My goodness your family is just the cutest and most fun, you can totally see it in your posts. You are blessed!

Reply

hahaha your so right! I will just have to come visit home often for the sake of writing fun posts about my family. Thank you so much for your sweet comment!

as a cheeto aficionado, i prefer cheeto puffs to flamin’ hot cheetos, but i’ll really eat just about any cheetos. have you ever been to a gas station where they serve a bag of cheetos that they open and pour nacho cheese sauce into? maybe its a southern thing. this idea both completely repulses me and leaves me intrigued.

also, way to go grandma. take it to the face. that picture is epic.

Reply

Your grandma is so sweet- I bet it’ll be hard to leave. But, you’ll be living in California!!
I’m most looking forward to warm weather this week!!

Reply

I LOVE that picture of your grandma! That’s the best way to eat whipped cream!

Moving away will without a doubt be hard, but just think how much sweeter those reunions will be!

Reply

Hahah looks like you had a great time!

Reply

HAHAHA that photo of grandma was epic! I love it :) who doesn’t love whip cream straight from the can?!

Reply

Ever had flaming hot cheetos? Do you like them?…whew can’t eat anything that has the word “hot” in the description..love regular cheetos though!

Do you like to dance? When was the last time you went dancing? – LOVE to dance…SYTYCD is on now…my favorite. I havent danced in awhile though…soon!

When you were growing up were birthdays a big deal in your family? Are they now? Birthdays really were never a HUGE deal…probably the reason why i never make a big deal when my bday rolls on (soon!)

What are you most looking forward to this week? Looking foward to getting in the gym AS MUCH AS possible

Just wanted to let you know that i LOVE following your blog..your dedication for fitnees through out the pregnancy is awesome!! I can only hope to be that way when it comes that time for me :)

That photo of your grandma is utterly brilliant, it’s made my day already!!

It’s my husband’s birthday tomorrow and at the request of my son, we’re making him a poo poo cake…chocolate cake in the shape of a poo. I honestly can’t wait to try and make it tomorrow! Birthdays are great!

Reply

If it’s not totally weird could you ask your new cousin where she got that adorable white shirt?

Reply

Not weird at all….I asked her as soon as I saw her:) It is from Urban Outfitters and she just got it so it should still be there! You would look absolutely adorable in it!

Reply

This post is cracking me up! Oh and you already know I like to dance ;-)

Reply

I’ve never seen the hot cheetos in Virginia but I found them in Texas! I had to try them to see what all the hype was about.. and they WERE pretty fantastic! haha

Reply

What a fun evening! I bet blue shirt friend was entertaining.

I dance at home in front of my children to make them laugh. And that is why I don’t dance in public. It’s bad. Very, very bad.

Birthdays are still a big deal in our family. I miss big family birthdays now that I live so far away from them!

This week the thing I am looking forward to the most is being one week closer to vacation and seeing my family and friends!!

Reply

Birthdays are pretty big in my family. For my brother and I we have a big party at our house with all of our relatives. It’s a real fun time :D

Reply

Looks like you had so much fun! I wish all of the gatherings I went to were like that!

I’m a big fan of the Flamin’ Hot Cheetos! My husband doesn’t like them, so when we go on long car trips, I”m always sure to pick up a bag. He grumps about it and I always say that I “forgot” he doesn’t like them. More for me! ;)

My side of the family always throws big birthday parties! We threw a birthday party for my brother when he was at college this year, and he had to Skype in because he couldn’t make it home. It was so much fun (minus missing the birthday boy)!

Reply

You have the funniest family! That picture of your Grandma is just priceless : )

I had a friend who swore the only thing that made her morning sickness subside was eating flaming hot cheetos!

Reply

Looks great and happy birthday to all involved here!! I had a major dance party with my girlfriends for my best friends bach. party. Nothing beats a great DP.

Reply

it’s always great spending time laughs throughout the event :) I have never had flaming cheetos. the name alone scares me.

Last time I danced was last night with our dog. Shaking my tail feathers :)

Reply

Love the grandma part!! Love flamin hot Cheetos! I can only eat them with a soft drink tho. Water doesn’t cut it for cooling my mouth. Birthdays were def a big deal growing up! And still is minus the party. We always do bday dinners, presents, and of course CAKE!!

I just had to point this out…. the guy in the background is helping Billy and your cousin blow out their candles in picture #6. I don’t know if I’m the only one that noticed it, but it cracked me up!

Reply

1st before I forget, I LOVE that the guy in the background of the candle blowing picture is also blowing out the candles :D I’m so happy for Erin, she is such a cute lil’ gal…love the wolf plate. It’s so nice that you had such a fun family party before your move and even better that it is on the blog so you can look back at it any time you want to.

Your family looks like so much fun! Especially your grandma, I probably would have been rolling on the floor if I saw that! Whenever I see your weekend party posts I get super jealous, unfortunately I don’t get to see my family too much but can’t wait for my cousin’s wedding where we’ll all be back together!

Reply

OMG, this post made me laugh harder than I have in a long time. Your grandma is the cutest and that was sooo hilarious that she was game, then the dancing, sheesh, looks like a great time was had by all. :)

I am most excited for Saturday! I am running a St. Jude run, in which a group of us will divide and conquer about 70 miles over the course of the day to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Hospital. My best friend has been doing it for years, but this year is my first time, and I’m so excited! My goal is to do 20 miles over the course of the day.

Reply

That does look like a fun night! The picture of your grandma getting whip cream sprayed in her mouth is so hilarious, I love it! I totally feel you, I can’t even think about moving or I have a breakdown/anxiety attack. It’s okay, we will get through it!!

Reply

Haha – your grandma is amazing!

That cake also looks incredible.

I’ve been out of town so I’m catching up on your blog and David is one of mine and my husband’s great friends! How do you know David? I’m sure it’s cuz Billy was in athletics or something. My husband and I both worked in BYU atheltics and know David from that.
