I have never looked cooler.

Reason #2453 I am excited to have a child: to have a best little buddy that gets just as excited as me about little things like dressing up like a cow to get free food. Billy’s friends really enjoyed being in the picture with us too.

DSC 2544

Yes, I realize that cows are usually white with black spots but we only had white paper to make spots with.

One cool looking group if you ask me.

DSC 2545

We put white spots all over my mom too so that she could get a free meal, they even let me sis have a free meal with just a little cow mask.  They did make them moo at the cash register to show that they really were celebrating cow appreciation day.

DSC 2547

All of this food was free!  I had the grilled chicken club, waffle fries and a diet lemonade (usually $8 total) for FREE.   Day 5 of not spending a dime on food was a success.

DSC 2548

Story that should make your heart melt because mine did:  The kid’s meal comes with an ice cream cone and my niece asked for hers in a cup with two spoons so that she could share with me because she knows I have a little thing for vanilla soft-serve.   I am packing her up and taking her with me to California.

DSC 2551

After lunch the Billy and I went to Target to get him some school clothes with his birthday money.  Target has AWESOME clothes and I will be going on my own shopping spree in a few months there.

Softball game!  BIlly is running so fast that he is just a blur.  It was pouring for most of the game and so I was hiding under a tree which is probably where the spider that was crawling up my stomach came from… no joke, I had a minor heart attack.

DSC 2557

I tried to convince Billy to go back to Chic-fil-A for dinner but he didn’t feel like dressing up like a cow again (this is where kids will come in handy because I guarantee they will be game to dress up like a cow multiple times a day).  We weren’t too hungry because our lunch was so late so I just had an egg sandwich with laughing cow cheese and some lemonade for dinner followed by my mandatory pb cookies.

DSC 2558

Now we are listening to The Killers new song and watching YouTube videos about how Krispy Kreme donuts are made.  I am about 4 seconds away from trying to make some at home.

Target is great for clothes, their baby clothes are actually really good quality too!
It’s Saturday night here and I did a body combat class this morning. I trained in the morning and at night had a class called commando which is like indoor boot camp…. Needless to say I am paying for it now. I think my usual run tomorrow will be replaced with a long slow waddle!
I can’t stop eating today and your comments on donuts and really not helping ha ha.

Good to know about their baby clothes! Where are you from? Great job getting up and doing body combat this morning! Enjoy your slow waddle and get some donuts after:)

We don’t have Target here (yet) but I am pretty sure it would be my favourite store! I’ve been a couple of times when I was in Florida/Hawaii/NY :)

It’s 8am here and I am up and dressed to go for a run!! Just had to check your post out first! ;)

Hope you have a great Saturday, Janae!

AWEEE! That is too cute. Oh my gosh. I wanted to go to chickfila yesterday but I had work all day and was exhausted. I can only go to Target when I have a giftcard because I’ll spend entirely too much money there past the giftcard value. In my mind 25 dollars at target means 2500000 spending there. ;)

Reply

janae, you are just too much fun!! i love the pic of you all in your cow outfits – what a hoot!
target is FINALLY coming to canada – to my city, anyway, in 2013 and i am going to get a complete closet of clothes asap. i got AWESOME stuff at target two summers ago in florida and still wear everything i bought there!!
i ran at 6:45 a.m. today and now i am off to work! enjoy your saturday! and way to go on your grocery challenge!!

Lovee Target!! Its kinda of a obsession. My sister and I get a lil excited to go…. woohooo weekends! Lol.

Reply

Target is amazing but I agree it is even better when you get to go to with your sister!

Reply

I got up at 7 for a run! It was gorgeous out so I’m happy it’s off my list for today. Sweetest little story about the vanilla soft-serve:)

Reply

Your niece is adorable for sharing her ice cream with you! I love Target and always spend way too much money there on things I don’t really need when I shop there. And, this morning one of my dogs woke me up at 4:15 or so because he was thirsy and I could not fall back to sleep after that so I finally got an early morning run in! So happy about that- it was great to avoid the heat and see more runners out and about!

Reply

I was up at 4:15 too…we should have gone on our runs together:) Great job to get out so early and I bet you are thankful to your dog now!

Reply

you are just so stinkin’ cute! My family did this too!! My MIL has 16 kids, so they saved A LOT of money!

Is diet anything safe to have while pregnant? I would hate to feed my kid artificial sweetners.

I asked my doctors a while ago and they said yes it is fine in moderation. I usually get the normal lemonade but they were out.

what a great idea of how to dress up like a cow

Adorable photos!

I actually buy a lot of my clothes from Target. I love their tanks and cardigans. I just can’t justify spending a bunch of money on something basic if I can get something similar that looks just as nice but is cheaper at Target.

Reply

Ohmygosh I buy clothes from Target all the time. Especially in the summer. They have the best t-shirts & tank tops. My husband gets so mad… he’ll make me have Target-free weeks!

I did NOT get up this morning to work out. I ran at like 8:00 last night, so I’m giving myself a break today!

You guys are the cutest.
I love Target and my favorite all time shirt is from there.
I always do back to school shopping with my sister. I do a girls weekend with her at the end of the summer that is literally shopping and finding cute restaurants to eat at and froyo. (since we don’t have those here)

Reply

That picture of your family dressed as cows is priceless! You need to print and frame that one. :)

Instead of running this morning, my boyfriend and I are going to a trampoline park. I’m so excited!

Reply

What a good looking group of cows you had there! Your niece is adorable and so kind! I just moved from a VT which didn’t have a Target so I have yet to check out their clothes. As for back to school clothes shopping – that was my most favorite time of the year. Almost more so than Christmas. That may, quite possibly, be one reason why I decided to become a teacher…..

Reply

Too cute! If we had been anywhere near a Chic-fil-A, the entire family would have been cows yesterday, too. My kids are game for ANYTHING that involves wearing a costume of any sort. I like Target stuff, too, and adored their maternity clothes when I was pregnant–semi-fashionable and cheap! We were just visiting my in-laws down in Arizona and saw two spiders that made me certain I’d never care to live there….we saw a tarantula on their deck and a black widow in their back yard!!!!

Reply

Hahaha that IS pretty awesome. And those cow masks are sweet!

Reply

You all look so cute!! That’s hilarious though. :) every year we used to go back-to-school clothes shopping and I miss it…I should convince my parents to bring me back to work clothes shopping and do it on a seasons basis lol! I ran 7 miles at 6am then did lower body and another mile cool down at the gym afterward. Now deciding with the hubby what we should do today. Hope you have a great day! :)

I buy a lot of work clothes at Target. I live in their solid colored Vnecks. I have never been to Chik Fillet but one just opened in our town.

Reply

i think at least half my wardrobe is from target. i bought a knit skirt from five bamboo after you talked about them, but then stockpiled knit skirts from target after that. <3

i was always WAY too excited about school supplies shopping to even think about clothes.

Reply

I love that you guys dressed up like cows! Your family is definitely the coolest! And Curly sharing her ice cream with you? What a kid!!!

Reply

Yes! I love targets clothes – I just bought a super cute pair of pajamas and also all of their workout stuff is on sale right now. I bought three dry fit shirts ($9 each) and a running sport ($15) heaven! While I was there I discovered dark chocolate raspberry m&ms which are divine… Have you had those yet?

Reply

running skort not sport lol

I love Target, it is one of my fav stores when we are in States. And I just heard we are finally getting on here in a year :)
Heck yes!

Reply

Oops! Wasn’t done! Yes, I loved going back to school just for new clothes! haha
Hate spiders, just saw a few on my deck!

Reply

I just love that so much of your family dressed up like cows to get free food! Too funny……I’m heading to the gym in a few minutes to get a workout in–the rain is keeping me from running outside this morning so I’m thinking it’ll either be a shorter treadmill run or a combination of lots of random cardio + leg lifting, we’ll see!

Reply

Thank you for giving The Killers a shout out! Love Runaways. Aaaalmost as much as I love you and Billiam and cute baby bump : ) Can’t wait to see you guys.

Reply

I love Target as a whole and purchase clothing there when it fits (I’m short so all the cool long and really loose shirts are not flattering). I do think their price is a little high sometimes for the quality but you can get good deals. The clearance racks usually have good stuff too! I think it’s awesome that you guys dressed up like cows! How fun!

Reply

I love the cow masks! Doing that next year. We took our family of six for this, but my husband refused to dress as a cow. Where is his spirit of freeness?! How was your chick-fil-a so empty? Ours was packed wall to wall with cow spots falling off all over the place. And they told me I couldn’t order the club. I had to get combo one or two. Next time, I’m driving to your chick-fil-a…from Alabama.

Reply

I love buying clothes at Target. They have such cute maternity t-shirts right now, and I think they were recently all marked down to 30% off. It is my favorite store ever!

Reply

AW! That was so sweet of her :) I’ve never bought clothes from there, but that’s because I don’t have one in my town and I’m too lazy to drive to another town to go haha. I got up at 7 and will be sprinting at 9!!!! I’ve never done before school shopping, I shop by the season ;) Thankfully I haven’t seen any spiders lately!!! They sscare the buh-geez-us out of me haha

Check out my blog!! http://runningsprinkles.blogspot.com

i love all of the cow attire! very cute. i’m a huge fan of target clothes! they have cute and fashionable clothing at a very reasonable price. can’t beat that! ;)

I always buy clothes at Target for the whole family. When I was little we would go clothes shopping before school started. I loved it. I should start doing it again. Does graduate school count? I was too lazy to get up early for today’s run and now I’m seriously regretting it. Tomorrow is my long run, and I plan to wake up around 5 am.

Reply

I love Target clothes!

You guys are killing it with not spending money on food! I’m so impressed.

I took Target for granted until I moved back to Vermont, a Target-free state, for nearly a year to spend some time with my family. Now, it’s where I get my tights and nickel-free jewelry and running tops (Champion, v-neck, wicking, and CUTE).

We used to make a long weekend of school shopping. We’d go to Manchester, NH, three hours away from where I grew up, because NH had outlet stores, no sales tax, and FILENE’S BASEMENT. Mom loved Filene’s Basement. One year when we went a little overboard at a Marshalls–it was so rare to be in a department store and everything we so inexpensive compared to the shops at home. I was very well dressed that year. ;)

I didn’t run today. Tomorrow was supposed to be my rest day, but I’m trading because I could use it more today.

Reply

OMG stop it. This is AMAZING. You did it! This is my new favorite “Crazy Thing Janae Has Done For Food.” Simply brilliant. Curly looks good in Cow.

Reply

That is seriously the most adorable thing I have ever heard. And I love your cow costumes. I cant wait to see pics next year with you and Billy and your baby calf :)

We have no Chick-Fil-A or Target where I live (though I can drive about 45 minutes to get to Target, if I must), which is tragic. I would have totally dressed up as a cow for free food! When we were in college, JP and I “dressed up” as burritos (aka: wrapped ourselves in foil) to get free burritos from Chipotle on Halloween.

I’m taking a break from running through the weekend, but I did fit in a Nike Training Club workout this morning!

I do buy clothes at Target. They have cute stuff that holds up pretty well.

School shopping always before school started. Usually a lot of clothes. Now my girls have so many clothes, we usually just get a new pair of tennis shoes and one, maybe two new outfits. We tend to buy that stuff when we visit the BIG CITY over summer vacation. Much better selection there!

I got up at 6:30 AM for my run this morning. Was light outside a good 45 minutes before that, but I slept in a little.

I haven’t seen any spiders lately, unless you count the daddy longleg on my back sliding screen this morning, but I don’t. Lots of spider webs on my run this morning. Ick.

Your dinner has inspired my breakfast! I hadn’t decided what I want. Now I want a fried egg sandwich with goat cheese!

Reply

I’ve dressed up for the last 3 years but didn’t yesterday:( I did go to Starbucks and got a free refresher drink though! I buy clothes from Target all the time. I’ve actually started online shopping with them becasue they have free shipping and in store returns so I just get it try it on and if I don’t like it take it back!

Reply

I STILL go school clothes shopping….and I’m almost 30 (I mean, I’m still a student–a PhD student–so I’m milking it haha). And is it just me, or does Staples SMELL SO GOOD?? It reminds me of school supply shopping when I was younger :-)

Reply

Target has always been my go to for clothes, great for baby girl too! There is currently a huge spider hanging on our patio umbrella. My husband is fired for not taking care of it!

Reply

I am a big fan of target’s clothes…I can spend an awful lot of money there…good thing the closest one is 45 minutes away.

I was up at 6:40 this morning, but no morning workout for me. I’m running a night race tonight at 9 pm :)

Not a fan of spiders (or any other bugs for that matter), but the freakiest thing lately was tick crawling on my neck *shudder*

Reply

I love it! I love Chik Fil A but have never actually seen anyone dress up to take them up on their offer for free food! So fun!!

Very cute. I got 3 very hot, sweaty miles in this morning.

I love Target for kid’s clothes.
School clothes shopping is one of my favorite traditions I do with my kids. It’s the only time I buy clothes, other than birthdays and Christmas, and I usually let them splurge on one item.
I was up at 4:45 for my long run but I came home and crashed.

Reply

you are all so cute, dressed up like cows!!! i LOVE that you did that! and i can’t believe all that food was free!! that’s awesome!

your niece is so sweet, sharing her soft serve with you :)

and, oh tarjay. love that place for everything!! my husband just got me a cute striped tee there for $3!!! (he had a coupon- of course!)

I love that you all dressed up!!!! So cute!
This morning I woke up at 6:30 and ran 9 miles in central park. Now I’m on a bus to Atlantic City! Busy day for me!
And I loooove Target!!!

Reply

I got up early and went to BodyPump, I am going to run six miles later this afternoon. I love Target, but their clothes here look cheap and are ill fitting. Old Navy is awesome because they have great deals and you can get a ton of clothes for super cheap. I also adore Gap clothes but they are pricey!

What a bunch of cows! :-) You guys have so much fun – love it!

I love that you all dressed up!!

I was up at 5am for my run! And I love Target!!!

I buy my husband’s clothes from Target often….hehe ;)

LOVE the cow dress up pics. We realized too late what day it was. Sad!

I could LIVE in Target (pronounced Tar-jay, sounds so much more fancy lol). As if I couldn’t already get lost for hours in the rest of the store, most people don’t realize how great their clothes and accessories are! I always find such gems that are perfect for mixing with other more expensive pieces in my wardrobe. They’re especially great for trendy pieces that I can’t justify to spend $$$ on, like my red jeans that I have just about worn out this summer! I also get all of my workout clothes there and I find they hold up just as well as my more expensive Nike pieces, not to mention they have so many great bright and fun pieces!
