Two things. Okay, maybe three.

1.  Workout:  Pump and ran a few miles to finish off the week with 40 miles.  I haven’t made a smoothie in months (out of pure laziness, it takes a lot of time to get the frozen strawberries out) and had one with some protein powder, fruit and milk for breakfast.  I was telling Billy in the car today how my body gets so tired so fast now.  A 40 mile week used to be a recovery week or taper week for me but by 10 a.m. this morning I was already feeling exhausted and ready for a nap after this weeks running.

2.  Good thing tomorrow is a rest day and I will be sitting in the car for 9.5 hours while Billy drives.  We are heading out to S. Cali to visit Charlie and on Friday driving up with Billy’s parents to go find some housing in N. Cali.

If you can’t tell from these pictures, Charlie is our best friend and it has been way too long since we have seen him.

3.  I made THESE COOKIES again and I am not even kidding when I say that my little girl jumps around like crazy after I eat one (3).  I can already tell I am really going to like her just by the foods that she prefers.

The combination of cookies and candy in these cookies are what makes them so good.  I wrapped the dough around Snickers Minis.

Tell me two things (or three) about YOUR day!!!

Watched the movie Insidious, ran ten miles, and made a guinea pig cage. Only two of these were at the same time.

Your smoothie is mouth watering.

MADE a guinea pig cage and running at the same time…that is my guess:)

3 things 1. Ran 6 miles making it a 43 mile week for me which is my new miles/week record (maybe one day I’ll be as cool as you!) 2. Went to fitness circuit and got my hamstrings kicked and 3. Finished it off with yoga. Oh and 4. consumed a very large chipotle burrito.

3 things……ran five miles after a week hiatus of “real” running, did laundry, and reading running books on my kindle! Oh the life I lead.

I was crazy….I have lost all desire to ever run more than that again. GREAT RUN!! What running books are you reading? I am always looking for good ones.

1. Ran 10 miles in 85 degree heat. I was shooting for 14 but the heat did me in. 2. Bought a Nathan Hydration pack thing from TJMaxx for $12!! because I can’t handle heat 3. Made dinner for my husband and his friend at 3:30…. that is a bit early for dinner.

Reply

Jessica, I wouldn’t last 1 mile in that heat. CONGRATS on doing 10! 12 bucks..that is AWESOME. 3:30 is when I want to eat dinner too!

I am soooo lazy with my protein shakes – I have one every day and just put almond milk in a shaker bottle with the powder and ice. It doesn’t take a lot to impress me:)
Today – my hubs ran 46 miles in training for his ultra! So I had the kids to myself all morning – good times. I ran 10 in the 90+ degree humid heat. not really very fun, but glad I did and I got out of cooking for the second night in a row- very good:)
ps- can you mail me those cookies??;-)

What is your little girl’s favorite food so far, haha?

-I actually ran 2 miles for the first time in about a 4 months, I’m not much of a runner haha. And then did an upper body workout. It felt pretty decent though!
-The weather went from pouring rain to sunny
-Its Canada day tomorrow!

The biggest mileage week I ever had was 30, and then I was injured and out for a week! Haha I think it will take a good year for me to build up to 40!

Reply

1. We did some volunteer work with our church, which involved outdoor yard work … in 106 degree weather. Fun stuff.
2. Brandon and I had a date night that included two of my favorite things: sushi and frozen yogurt.
3. I am jealous of your cookies!

Reply

wow! 40 miles in a week sounds awesome to me! I’m training for my first sprint triathlon and it feels really weird that sometimes I work out twice and don’t run either time.

Reply

My day involved a museum, park, picnic and library. Perfect!

Reply

How will you survive not working out after baby? I mean you will need to take a solid 3weeks off. I am not trying to be rude but just curious:)

Reply

1. Took Bug to the zoo.
2. Took a nap on the way home… me & the Bug… obvi, I wasn’t the one driving.

OMG I love love those cookies. I always make 5 dozens for Christmas and end up eating almost half of them.

Today I walked 3.5miles longest walk I have done since my knee surgery 6 months ago and had/have very little pain hope it stays that way. (Hope I didn’t jinx myself.)

We went to see our friends baby shes 3 months old today. Lots of cuddles

Went to a bbq where I ended up drinking 2 cans of ginger-ale (I hate and never drink soda), ate 3 peanut butter brownies and almost a whole bag of costco Kettle potato chips. Ugh yet i am trying to cut down on the amount of junk and sweet stuff I eat since I can’t work out like I used to due to my surgery.

Reply

Girl, I feel so fat and lazy. Ha. I had a 6.5 mile week this week =\ and I’m really needing to build back up for a half marathon at the end of August! Yikes!

2 things: I shoulder pressed my heaviest yesterday and then fell into a food coma after eating dim sum for lunch!

Those cookies look amazing. Where in S. Ca are you going? I spent my miles on the treadmill today figuring out how I can get a cool set up like you have. Ha. :) have a great rest of your weekend!

Reply

so lovely to meet you today! I am excited to get to know you a little more through the blog! i am not even going to discuss miles i ran! ha! im a beginner:)

Reply

oooey gooey awesomeness…those cookies seem to be oozing tasty!! okay, two things about my day. it’s too hot for my liking so i got my run on inside on the tready and still think i sweat out 20lbs. :P
second thing, got to see the pack of pups over at my family’s house and they loved my sweat saltyness, so i got licked to death too. :) hope u’re having an awesome night!

Reply

Those cookies look great! When I was pregnant my little girl would always move like crazy after eating anything sweet. The dr would tell me if I was concerned with her lack of movement just eat some ice cream and lay on the couch for 30 minutes and count her kicks/movements. Worked like a charm every time!

Two things. . .

1 – I slept for 7 hours last night!! No – my little girl (8 weeks old) didn’t sleep through the night (ha!) but she spent the night at my parents house so that Brandon and I could get ONE good night of sleep in, to gear up for the week. It feel SO good to wake up rested. But. . .

2 – I MISSED her SO MUCH and cried all the way home after we left her. As sad as I was I will probably be a better mom today since I slept like a rock.

Ellie, I just clicked over to your blog. LOVE IT. LOVE. And I am liinvg like the opposite life of you. So just know you appeal across the board! You have a big bloggy fan in me. :)

It has been so hot here, that I am not really getting sleep. So I am so tired.

I’m having a virtual bake sale for charity today, so I’m just lounging around on my computer all day.

Hope you guys have a great road trip!

40 miles as a taper/rest week doesn’t even compute in my brain, I am slowly working myself up to try and get somewhere near 40 miles in one week.

Had a fantastic 10 mile run along the Thames river, and into a Royal Park, and had a stand off with a scary looking deer.
Went to church and heard a wonderful message.
Enjoyed watching the kids play football with dad in the garden and then a game of surprisingly quiet monopoly.

Yum yum, your daughter has great taste, those cookies look delicious!

I recently moved to NorCal (two months ago) and am about 5-10 minutes from Santa Clara University. It’s a great area and I highly recommend Campbell – they’ve got a great Farmer’s Market and it is extremely walkable with fantastic access to the Los Gatos Creek Trail.

Reply

Thank you so much! We will look into Campbell! Wanna go or a run or froyo (or both) when I get there?

Reply

Yes! I like running. And froyo. Too much. Plus, meeting new people is fun.

Reply

My shin splints say that I’m currently broken though, and since you are having a baby when you move, (CONGRATS!) froyo first and then running later?
