A challenge and what to do if your legs are sore.

Something happened yesterday that brought my sister and I even closer. They had watermelon Saturday night with their dinner and she saved me some even though she had to guard it from other everyone else trying to eat it and not eating it herself either.

I have come to the conclusion that watermelon is my current biggest pregnancy craving.   My sister is much better than I am at keeping her eyes open when she smiles.

DSC 0746

I repaid her by making Snickerdoodles, okay let’s be honest I made them for my own selfish reasons.  These babies got a 10 out of 10 by all of the testers.  Make them.  Recipe HERE.

DSC 0750

My sister cooked up some incredible chicken enchiladas with corn tortillas for dinner and I made my own random version of Spanish Rice by throwing in corn, tomatoes and salsa into some rice.  Happy Seis de Mayo to us.

DSC 0754

We must have had too much sugar because we felt the need to start doing random things after dinner all of those snickerdoodles.

Billy is officially the strongest person in the house yesterday.   I did not participate in the arm wrestling due to the fact that my 60 year old mother beat me a few months ago.   I am almost positive my little nephew could beat me too.

DSC 0758

Billy had never tried the challenge before (1 tablespoon of cinnamon in 60 seconds) and I have never (no exaggeration, we took a video of it) laughed so hard in my life.  I cannot show you the video of it because the cinnamon challenge made Billy lose his dinner over the deck.  Can you see all the cinnamon in the air?

DSC 0781

I made sure to ask him if it was okay if I used this photo and he said YES…he is proud of himself for trying his hardest with the challenge and he even wanted me to post the video but I just couldn’t expose you to it but he made sure to send it to all of his family.

******EDITED TO ADD!!! Turns out that the cinnamon challenge can actually be quite dangerous.  We had absolutely no idea of this and so please do not try this challenge.  Instead see how many swedish fish you can eat in a minute!

After the cinnamon mess we started talking about how scary the movie Jumanji was.  Did you see that movie?  I think it is my least favorite movie ever.  We decided to watch all of the scariest parts of the movie last night and now I will be having dreams of monkeys, lions, mosquitos and killer flowers.

Later on my mom whipped out these bad boys.  Carrot cake cupcakes from Costco….this will be my after lunch dessert today.

DSC 0787

Not sure whether or not to run today because my quads/calves are sore from the hills on Saturday….the weird thing is that running makes them feel less sore even though you would think the opposite….well, I guess that makes up my mind about today, time to get my run on!

————————————————–

Ever tried the cinnamon challenge?  Ever seen anyone try the cinnamon challenge?  Any other food challenges we should try?

What is the scariest movie you have ever seen?  Did you see Jumanji?  Did it freak you out too?

Anyone else have sore legs today?  What is your treatment for sore leg muscles?

What would you rank carrot cake as on a scale from 1-10 (10 being the best)?

I’ve never personally tried the cinnamon challenge but its always hysterical when people do. I did watch someone beat the challenge though. It was painful for him, but he did it! I was amazed, I didn’t think it could be done!!

Carrot cake is an 8 for me in general but there is a restaurant in Little Italy that is a 10. Its the best cake ever, but I forget the name of the store. I have to go on an adventure to find it soon because its SO good!

Jumanji always freaks me out!!!! Imagine that really happening, I mean that’s terrifying!

Your family is crazy–in the best way:-) I have never heard of the cinnamon challenge. Have you ever tried drinking a gallon of milk in an hour? It sounds easy, but I guess its really hard.

I have really sore quads today–I think from body pump last week? They felt fine until I did 18 miles on Saturday. Usually an easy run helps, but I might try some foam rolling/stretching too.

Happy Monday:-) Enjoy your carrot cake cupcake.

Reply

Oh my goodness I STRONGLY dislike Jumanji. It is terrifying and I vividly remember having nightmares about it as a child.

MMmmmmmm carrot cake cupcakes are my favorite! YUM!
Have a wonderful Monday, Janae!! :)

Reply

Haha I hate cinnamon so I would clearly fail at the challenge! I met with my trainer yesterday and my legs are burning today. I plan on sitting on the sofa tonight :) very productive..

Reply

Bahahahah a few of my good guy friends tried the cinnamon challenge while we were on a ski trip this winter. I don’t know if I’ve ever laughed harder. Yessss my legs are sore! I busted my butt yesterday in a half marathon to shave 24 minutes off my previous time!!! :).

Reply

Hahahah the cinnamon challenge sounds fun, as long as you’re watching. I think running helps get rid of sore legs…and compression socks. :)

Reply

omg, that cinnamon challenge thing is hilarious! What a great shot you got of Billy with all the cinnamon in the air!

My legs are very sore (ran a marathon yesterday). I have found the best cure to be doing a lot of walking. Keeps them from getting stiff.

Reply

We do feats of strength in my family and I always lose. It’s so sad to be beat by your mother. lol

Reply

Some of my friends have endless food races- soup off… milk off… they once both ate a pat of butter. Its quite gross! The soup off was funny because both made bad choices- one chose chunky soup and one spicy, neither of which are easily swallowed!

Jumanji freaked me out when I was a kid yes, :). The scariest I’ve seen is What Lies Beneath or if we are including TV- American Horror Story!

Carrot cake is like a 6. Nice but not a favourite. The icing is the only amazeballs part oif it.

Reply

Oh!! My legs were so sore yesterday. Foam rolling and going for walks always helps me!

I am petrified of the cinnamon challenge to be quite honest. No balls here :)

Loving these long posts!

HAHA we made three of my friends try the cinnamon challenge in our dorm room this year. The video is the most hilarious thing I have ever seen (try you-tubing some more, we also spent hours doing this) they all failed miserably but the footage was worth it!

My legs are sore from my half yesterday- thinking about foam rolling lots/maybe some x-training if I am feeling up to it!

I absolutely love carrot cake. Under one condition. It must MUST be layered/covered with delicious cream cheese frosting. That’s the best part.

Reply

I remember seeing Jumanji when I was young while staying in a hotel. Then we all went to bed. THEN the AC kicked on and it sounded like the drumming sound that the game makes and I was SO SCARED! I think the scariest movie of all time is The Ring. I made my mom sleep with me after I saw it (yes, I was in high school). It is one of like 4 horror movies I’ve ever seen. I hate all of them and would rather believe life is all rainbows and unicorns.

Carrot cake is…….an 8.7 I think.

I think I will implement the cinnamon challenge when I get together with my cousins this summer.

Reply

I LOVED Jumangi. I think my kids watched it 1000 times.
I love carrot ake and can’t figure out why someone would eat only half of a cupcake (as shown in your picture). I have no such control.
You and Billy continue to amaze me with your speediness. You guys really are rock stars.

Reply

jumanji is a pretty scary movie. i remember watching it when i was younger and hiding behind a billion blankets!

my quads are killing me today! i ran my first half marathon yesterday (sub 2! whoop whoop!), and i am feelin’ it today. i had a bath last night followed by an ice cold shower sprayed on my legs and stretching and foam rolling and laying in bed with frozen peas and carrot bags all over my legs. still sore today – going to repeat tonight!

i rank carrot cake a 100000/10. out of this world!

Reply

oh man, that cinnamon challenge sounds terrible! haha.
i agree, the jumanji movie always freaked me out too.
and my rating for carrot cake? if it’s quality carrot cake (aka delicious frosting, moist cake) then i’d give it a 7 or 8.

Reply

I’ve heard of the cinnamon challenge but I’ve never tried it. I probably would end up up-chucking, too! lol And carrot cake, on a scale of 1-10, is most definitely an 84. It’s that good.

Reply

Sounds like a fun weekend!! :D Those snickerdoodles look delicious!

Reply

Lmao.
Now that I’ve finished laughing I can answer your questions lol.
1) I’ve never even heard of the Cinnamon challenge let alone tried it! My family is so not cool :( lol.
2) This is where I almost wet myself laughing. You are scared of ‘Jumanji’ lol? It’s a kids film! And so not scary! lmao. Now if you put ‘The Grudge’ on and turned off all the lights THEN I’d be scared lol. Though I’d probably just make the ‘Grudge noise’ just to freak everyone! lol.
3) YES! I have sore legs from a paltry 8k on a static bike but sssssshhhh we’re not telling anyone are we! The best tonic for sore leg muscles is to sit down, watch a film (but not Jumanji in your case obviously) and recover slowly!
4) Carrot cake has to be a 10. As long as it’s moist and not some century old piece found in the bottom of the biscuit barrel on a day where sugar cravings have you doing stuff you’d otherwise baulk at.
Which brings us right back to the Cinnamon. I do like it but have never attempted to eat a spoonfull of it. Is it sugary? Would it fulfill a monster craving?
If so then this family may just be getting one step further up the ‘weird’ ladder and giving this game a go.

Your family rocks!

Linda

I have not tried the cinnamon challenge, I love cinnamon though so would it make me hate it!? Have you tried the peanut butter and marshmallow challenge? Put a huge spoonful of pb in your mouth and then see how many marshmallows you can get in ;) haha Fun times.
Chucky… gives me the shivers just thinking of it.
Sore legs – rubs from the hubby :)
I’d give carrot cake a 7.

Reply

hahaha those are def some of the most flattering pictures you have taken of your fam! :) too funny!
carrot cake is like a 5 for me!

Reply

Seriously…I don’t think Billy has ever looked so attractive before:)

Reply

Let me preface this by saying that I love your blog and think you are adorable.

However. The cinnamon challenge is dangerous, especially for children. Besdies the typical coughing, choking and vomiting, the cinnamon can travel to the lungs and cause pneomonia. A high schooler recently spent 4 days in the hospital with a collasped lung and infection as a result of the cinnamon challenge. It’s kind of like Chubby Bunny, all fun and games until someone gets hurt.

JENN!! Thank you so so much for your comment. I feel awful, we really had no idea that it was so dangerous and I am thankful you pointed it out. I added a disclaimer to let people know that it is dangerous after reading your comment and the article. Thank you so much for saying something and have a great day!

Reply

I’ve never tried the cinnamon challenge, but I did attempt to drink a gallon of milk in under an hour. Let’s just say it ended similarly to Billy’s cinnamon mishap ;)

Jumanji really freaked me out too! Scariest movie ever would have to be the Ring I think.

Reply

YOU TRIED THE GALLON CHALLENGE?!?! Wow, Aimee…you are hardcore. Agreed about the ring. I still want to cry if anyone ever puts their hair over their face!

Reply

I have never tried the cinnamon challenge. I LOVE cinnamon and use it excessively so I wonder if that would help me? I’m afraid, however, that if I do the challenge I won’t be able to enjoy cinnamon again…

Reply

DON’T TRY IT!!! I don’t know if Billy will ever be able to eat cinnamon again ha!

Reply

haha! yes jumanji is so dang scary. and creepy. and weird! im feeling the same way about running today. my legs are still killer from the weekend but i feel so much better when i am moving than when i am not moving so i think i may go try a walk/run hobble type of workout here in a bit ;) your family is awesome. i want to come to some of these Sunday adventures…my Sundays seem extremely boring compared to yours ;) have a good day friend!

Reply

JULIA!! Remember how you ran a marathon on Saturday, you are amazing. You are right, it feels so much better to move then to not move after those hills. I can’t even imagine how bad they would be after the FULL marathon. Seriously, I am not even joking…please come to Sunday dinner. My family would LOVE YOU!

Hi, I do so love your blog, a whole bunch:)

But I do have to say that the cinnamon challenge is something not safe. Please refer to the following articles. Not only this but 4 kids from our local high school were taken to the hospital a month ago because of this challenge.

Mm glad to hear I’m not the only one whose quads and calves are making it hard to walk!! I did NOT get my run on today! I decided to skip
it and hit up Zumba or something tonight instead. Those carrot cake cupcakes looked amazing!! A trip to Costco might be in order tonight! :) have an awesome day!

KIM!! First, I love that we are real life bf’s now:) I am so happy to know I am not alone in the sore quads and calves…those hills tore them apart ha. WE ARE GOING TO COSTCO TONIGHT TOO!! What time?

Yay! I’m glad we are real life bf’s now too! Now, if only I could learn to run like you!! :) Have a happy trip to Costco (I know you always do) I’m not sure if I’m going to make it there tonight or not, but if I do it will be around 4:30 or 5 and you can bet I will for sure look for my newest bf!!

Try the saltine cracker challenge, eat 6 saltines in 60 seconds!

Scariest movie? Hmmm…the Ring or majority of all horror films.

I am (trying to go) running before our temperatures hit 80° this morning, just need to motivate myself to get out there. I run with sore legs too, it does help get rid of that lactic acid.

Carrot cake is my FAVORITE to eat at work, I save all the tops and eat from it all day. Delicious! Definitely a 10 on the scale.

Reply

AHHH we have to try the saltine challenge, thanks Brooke. Oh the Ring is awful…I am still afraid of that movie. I hope you are already out hitting the pavement and having a great run.

Reply

I am cracking up because I have done the cinnamon challenge and my friend posted the video on Facebook. It was AWFUL!!! It hurt my throat haha
My legs are actually very sore and I foam roll like crazy!

Reply

YOU DID THE CHALLENGE?!?! WOW, I seriously can’t imagine. Billy said his throat hurt big time too. You foam roll those legs of yours!

Reply

The Watcher in the Woods really scared me when I was younger. I always find elevating my legs on the wall helps prevent sore muscles, but it gets a little boring. I’m not a big cake person– I prefer ice cream, but I do enjoy the cream cheese frosting! Happy Monday!

Reply

I haven’t seen that movie…thanks for the warning, now I will never see it!!! Good call on elevating your legs and I hope you get some delicious cream cheese frosting or ice cream soon.

Reply

Some friends and I decided we wanted to test out a lot of those challenges… six saltines in a minute, a slice of bread in 30 seconds, seven bananas and a sprite, the cinnamon challenge… let’s say we did not succeed. I agree, running after a race helps my soreness.

Reply

AHHH we are going to have to try those ones…I haven’t heard of the 7 bananas and a sprite, I have a feeling this will be next Sunday’s activity. Thanks Alex and have a great day!

Reply

Ugh, that cinnamon thing sounds awful!! :) It’s like the gallon of milk challenge :)

Haha I’ve beer done the cinnamon challenge, but my neighbors in college used to do the gallon hour challenge (drink 1 gallon of milk in 1 hour and we would have burned spots of grass from all of their puke

I love running out the soreness, as long as you know you’re not hurt, enjoy that hard earned soreness

Reply

AHHHH I can’t even imagine trying that challenge, it made me sick just reading it. You are so right about running out the soreness…love it!

Reply

hahaha–the guys that sit around me at work joke about doing this challenge all the time…but i’ve never seen it done. that picture of billy is hilarious.

usually when my legs feel sore, the foam roller works wonders. although it does not necessarily feel that way when you are going through it ;)

carrot cake is a 10 in my book–its my FAVORITE cake and its the cake I always use for my birthday cake :) those cupcakes look YUMMO!

Reply

Your coworkers sound awesome ha! THANK GOODNESS for the foam roller. I am so sending you one of these cupcakes, you would absolutely love it!

I have never heard of this before – you try to eat a tablespoon of cinnamon?! That sounds HORRIBLE. you guys are hard core! And I have been ogling those carrot cake cupcakes at Costco for weeks now – send me some! :-)

DON’T TRY IT!! It was so gross….instead I will send you a cupcake! Have a great day gorgeous girl!

I have killer sore legs today. Toronto Goodlife Half Marathon was yesterday all down hill and it has killed my quads.

GREAT JOB ON YOUR 1/2!!! Those darn downhills shred our legs to pieces. Get those legs feeling better and keep me updated on how that goes!

Reply

I’ve never tried the cinnamon challenge – and no thank you :)

I have the sorest legs I’ve EVER had today. I had my Zumba instructor training course on Saturday … that meant dancing on the balls of my feet for nine hours. Holy calf pain – stairs are the enemy today. I’m just trying to stretch as much as possible without crying! Haha. Enjoy your day!

Reply

Costco cake and frosting is the BEST. the best best.

Reply

It really is. I am pretty sure I am going through withdrawals with your blog down. Good to know you are still alive! How about we eat costco cake and frosting together in the fall after long runs?

Reply

Oh my gosh you HAVE to try cookie face! It’s a minute to win it challenge. You lean your head back, put a cookie on your forehead, and then, using only your facial muscles, try to get the cookie into your mouth in under a minute. Or you can compete against each other instead of the clock. It is absolutely hysterical both to play and to watch!

My friends and I have also done the saltines competition–see who can eat the most saltines in a minute, no water allowed.

Reply

JAMIE!! Thank you so so much for the new challenge. I seriously can’t wait to try it, we will totally be doing it this week. I will be practicing everyday in front of the mirror for the competition. That saltines challenge made my mouth feel dry just reading about it!

Reply

I seriously DIED laughing at that picture of Billy. That is the best picture ever. HAHA even when I think of it I crack up!

I also hate the movie Jumanji! It’s been playing on TV a lot lately which is weird since it’s so old!

Reply

Isn’t it hilarious…I want to show you the movie. SERIOUSLY…why do they keep playing that movie, it is so awful!

Reply

Jumanji definitely freaked me out. I don’t like scary movies. If I’m forced to watch one, I make inappropriate comments and jokes during the intense/creepy scenes. It makes the movie much more enjoyable for everyone. ;)

Reply

HAHAH I would love to watch scary movies with you for your inappropriate comments, that sounds like a blast to me…I will bring the candy!

Reply

I have never heard of the cinnamon challenge before! My coworker used to love food challenges and one time he made me tape him eating as many powdered donuts in 1 minute without fluids. That challenge is far harder than you’d expect!

I feel that way about Jurassic Park! I still get the chills thinking about the t-rex scene when the car breaks down in the rain!

I have sore legs today! I should stretch and foam roll…

Reply

OH MY GOODNESS…I have to try the powdered donut challenge…that sou like my kind of challenge! I am so in:) STRETCH and foam roll those legs of yours today. PS I despise Jurassic Park too!

Reply

That picture is priceless, the cloud of cinnamon in the air and the fact that you can see his whole tongue coated in it. What a day of extreme challenges b/w that and the arm wrestling. Great cross training :-)

Reply

The cinnamon challenge sounds insane!!! haha

Reply

Ever tried the cinnamon challenge? Never tried it! But I am not a fan of vomiting either. Poor Billy!

Did you see Jumanji? Scary! Agreed!

No sore legs today. Just the knee still. =(

What would you rank carrot cake as on a scale from 1-10 (10 being the best)? 1. I’m just not a fan.

Reply

I can’t imagine doing the cinnamon test! Yikes! Poor Billy!

I agree…watermelon is the best! I’m one of those weirdoes that puts salt on my watermelon!

Jumaniji always freaked me out as a kid, too! Scariest movie I’ve ever seen was “The Ring” …I had nightmares for a week!

My legs aren’t sore but my upper body is thanks to some heavy lifting! I love the feeling though because it makes me stronger!

I’m not a huge fan of carrot cake but I do love the frosting on it! Cream cheese all the way!

Reply

That picture is hilarious! Have a great week

Reply

Carrot cake is a 9 in my book. Put it this way, on my staff profile under favorite foods, carrot cake is listed.

Sore legs.? yes……swam this morning and it was a perfect cure without more pounding.

Reply

LOL – that picture of Billy is hilarious! He’s a good sport for letting you post that. I’ve never heard of the cinnamon challenge but I have heard of the 6 saltines in 1 minute with no liquids. Apparently that’s impossible but it sounds so easy. My husband even tried it and couldn’t do it.

Reply

I just made someone do the cinnamon challenge this weekend! I was so excited to laugh hysterically…but he actually did it. It was crazy. I could not believe it.

Reply

haha, cinnamon challenge looks terrible. glad you got the husband to do it instead of yourself. i’ve always been curious about the gallon of milk challenge which i also hear is dangerous and really gross. but maybe if you had a giant plate of snickerdoodles, a gallon of milk would be totally drinkable.
happy monday!

Reply

Your family is the best! Poor Billy, there is no way I would ever try that challenge, I feel like I would just inhale the stuff and never ever be able to eat it again.. I’ll stick to the Saltine challenge.. Oh yeah- back when I was a pre-teen I ate and entire box of Swedish fish in one day (I’m talking about the boxes that they used to sell that had almost 500 pieces) My parents had bought it so I could bring it with me to share on a field trip to New York.. But I’m an only child and kept them all to myself, haha.. Good times..

The only food challenge I’ve ever done was see how many giant Pixy Stix my friends and I could guzzle on a road trip. It has taken me 15 years to even be able to look at Pixy Stix without wanting to barf.
I really hate scary movies so I don’t know what I was thinking when I agreed to go to ‘The Grudge’ with my husband at the theater. Five minutes into it I was having what I think was a panic attack. I left immediately but even that 5 minutes of the movie gave me nightmares and freaked me out for months.
My legs are sore from my Saturday race but they always feel better after I run again.
I love carrot cake! I would give it a 10 if it has homemade cream cheese frosting!

Reply

I have never tried the cinnamon challenge. I first heard about it on Good Morning America where a doctor explained the health risks so I was terrified to try anything like it. I need strong lungs for running ;)

I am so sore today from my track workout on Sat and long run on Sun. I have made Monday my new rest day. I will be icing my shins and wearing compression socks today.

Reply

ohhhh I like your sore leg remedy!! :)
I am not sore at all…which I think is because I raced on SAND for most of the half-marathon I raced on Saturday?! I like to hot-tub and foam roll post-race to ensure I am not sore! (and running a few cool-down miles helps too!)
I hope you are feeling great today!
happy Monday LOVE U J!!!

Reply

I saw Jamanji in the theater when it first came out. There was a little boy somewhere behind us that was so terrified he yelled you, “stop playing the game!”

I love carrot cake. My wedding cake was a carrot cake, but I never make it because I don’t want to grate all those carrots.

Reply

I’ve tried the saltine challenge….and lost to my husband. Boo! :(

Those cupcakes look delicious!

Reply

i hated jumanji!! soo scary.

i saw you at the provo half! i was looking for you (creeper!!) and saw billy and then saw you and yelled your name but you were past and i was thinking that was probably good because HELLO you don’t know me. but kim is my sister. she talked to you after the race? anyway…now all 3 of us basically know each other. ha.

Reply

AHHHH NOOOOO!!! I am so sorry that I didn’t hear you, please forgive me. CAN WE PLEASE GO FOR FROYO!?!?!!

Reply

Your watermelon looks so yummy; I think eating it means it’s unofficially summertime too!

Super sore legs today. I ran my first marathon (and first race!) yesterday. Usually foam rolling and nice long, slow ride on the stationary/recumbent bike works it all out though.

Carrot cake is a 9.5, especially if it’s from Costco. Costco’s red velvet cake still ranks just a little bit higher though.

Reply

That picture is classic. Love it. No desire to ever try that challenge or any other.

Ran my first post baby half yesterday and am feeling surprisingly well. I am going to give myself a rest from running today but do plan on hitting the stair machine at the gym after work. I agree that working the legs the day after does help loosen them up.

I actually loved Jumanji.

Carrot cake gets a 10.0 for me. Must be with TONS of cream cheese frosting though.

Reply

I LOVE Jumanji! Every time it’s on, I have to watch it. But yeah, it’s a little freaky if you put yourself in their shoes. (can you imagine being trapped in a board game? Eek!)

Never tried the cinnamon challenge, but I did read an article about how people should put a teaspoon of cinnamon on everything they eat to counter balance the “bad” stuff in food. It was a weird article.

Carrot cake – 10 out of 10! One of my FAVES!!!

Reply

I have never heard of putting cinnamon in your mouth! That picture of Billy is priceless. And a bit funny ;)

I love sugar cookies and that recipe looks super easy!

Reply

I have never tried the cinnamon challenge, but kind of want to. Why is it considered dangerous? Never would have thought of it being a danger. I have actually never heard of Jumanji, but I loveee scary movies, for some odd reason!

Reply

It all depends on if the carrot cake has nuts in it. No nuts=9.5 nuts = 6. :)

Reply

My legs are sore too. I know I should get out there and run but I kinda don’t want to.

I had never heard of the cinnamon challenge. That is so crazy! Way to go Billy!

Jumanji is freaky. I don’t like it

Reply

Carrot cake without raisins is amazing, I would give it an 8 in general, but if it’s good, it can go into 9 and 10 category.

I use cinnamon generously in my food, but I’ve never done the challenge.

Get a massage…or foam roll

Reply

I’m so glad you edited the post to say that the cinnamon challenge was dangerous. It’s been all over the news about how bad it can be for you! I hope Billy’s feeling OK! ;) Hope you guys have a wonderful Monday!!!

I’ve done the cinnamon challenge… I made it for a few seconds… Good thing I had a sink near by!

Reply

I Love Jumanji !!!

Reply

Ha ha, you guys are too funny. I don’t think I could hold out for the cinnamon challenge. But ice cream, bring it on.
I can’t do most scary movies. My imagination is just too wild for scary movies and I get nightmares. It’s mostly with movies like Paranormal Activity, etc.

Reply

OMG those carrot cake cupcakes look to die for!

Reply

I have actually been shown videos of my students attempting the cinnamon challenge, and there’s nothing about it that appeals to me. We had a member of the health center come in and talk to them about it and the health hazards that could come of it. I had no idea the dangers, but I’m glad that you posted them in your blog.

Reply

How can cinnamon be dangerous when cinnamon sugar is soooooo good by the spoonfuls? Not gonna lie, I’ve eaten straight spoonfuls of the stuff :)
I love carrot cake, but I can’t have cream cheese frosting, so I never get to eat it. Sadness.

Reply

My mom craved watermelon alllll the time when she was pregnant! Crazy :)

Reply

I heard Costco changed their carrot cake recipe. I LOVE carrot cake. Does theirs have raisins in theirs??

Reply

oh my, carrot cake is like a 9.3…but mostly because of the cream cheese frosting!

scariest movie…E.T. honestly, nightmares for years. still can’t look at that hideous monster! (hides face)

Reply

Best treatment for sore legs is definitely MOVING them – I agree with you there! After a marathon, I like to go walking or biking to help loosen up the muscles, and I usually get back to my regular workout routine the next day. I think that soreness develops primarily when you just stop moving and let your legs get stiff.

I am a winner of the cinnamon challenge. one of my proudest feats! the trick is to CALMLY hold the cinnamon in your mouth for a good 30 seconds, then your salivary glands start working again, and then you can SLOWLY roll the cinnamon with spit bit by bit until you can SLOWLY start swallowing. This whole process took me 10 minutes, but I won 5 dollars and my mouth tasted like cinnamon all day long.
