I have everything I need now.

Is it weird that I teared up when I opened a package from my cutest friend from San Diego.

They need a close-up because they are seriously the cutest things I have ever seen.

For dinner we went and met up with my family for my nephew’s (from out of town) birthday dinner at a new to us place.  You know how I go on and on about Cafe Rio?  They actually have an Italian version of Cafe Rio and that is where we went.

and 98% of one of my other nephews salads.   The salad was beyond good, I will be back over and over again.  Those crispy things on top are actually sweet potatoes, so good!  Each meal also came with flatbread.

For some reason the manager brought out four of these cakes for us for free and all I can say is wow.  This one had a lemon pound cake base with strawberries, whipped cream and coconut.  I know I like everything with sugar in it but man this was good.

Time for my first 5k in 4 years (5ks scare me).  Hopefully it doesn’t snow!!!

yeah! I did it. First poster!. Mission accomplished. Cross that off my bucket list and I can go to my grave in peace. Resting up for a half marathon, (Martian Marathon) next Saturday, in preparation for a full Ann Arbor Marathon in June.

I’m right there with you on the 5k’s!! Give me a half or a full marathon any day!
Good luck – you will do great!!!
I have no races this weekend, no running either – just a short little crosstraining workout.
My favorite pasta dish is probably just plain pasta with olive oil and cheese. and maybe some basil. I just love it and it’s so easy.
I am having my whole family (I am one of 5 kids) and my husbands family over for easter and a little easter egg hunt for the kiddos. Should be fun!
Have a great Easter with your awesome family!!:)

What a nice gift!! I love those little onsies!

I’m hopefully doing 11 miles this morning, but my butt hurts from hiking up a mountain with the hubby yesterday haha. Guess it wasn’t a good choice. ;)

Reply

My favorite dish is rigatoni in vodka sauce.

We are heading into my office tomorrow to pick up all of my personal stuff.

Good luck with your run.

The clothes are super cute.

Yay for running a 5k again – GOOD LUCK to you & Billster!

I’m stoked to run this weekend! Tonight I’m running 5 miles with my hunny – it will be a tempo run for me and an easy run for him because me trying hard = his easy pace. I don’t care though, I just love to run with him :) Tomorrow is long run day for me!

Fave pasta = something with lots of fatty alfredo sauce and mushrooms!

I’m doing a surprise easter egg hunt for my bf tomorrow, and turkey dinner tonight (YUM!) I LOVE easter!!

those baby clothes are ADORABLE janae… so cute!!!!

no specific run plans, but since my calf injury is HEALED i am just gonna run however long i feel like!! SO EXCITED! :)

fav pasta dish is my italian grandma’s white clam sauce with linguini…heaven.

Easter plans= aunt’s house w/ the fam, eating a ton of dessert! Cant wait!

Happy Easter Janae!!!

Just a 6-mile run today. Funny though. I remember the day when 3 miles seemed overwhelming. And now 6 sounds easy (doesn’t always feel that way).
No real Easter plans. Which is just the way I wanted it.
Favorite pasta dish – anything with garlic and/or meatballs.

I have no races planed until cinco de mayo!! Ahhh I was saying yesterday that can’t wait to race :) I actually one have 4 picked so far.. Clearly I need to work on that! Favorite pasta dish is home cooked lasagna.. Yum!

Just finished 12 miles with my friend Kris and sister Pam. This is the most exciting week of the year for us BOSTON MARATHON week. I will be volunteering on Friday at the t-shirt pick up, going to the Expo on Saturday, running a Half on Sunday and volunteering at the Marathon on Monday. Can’t wait!
Sorry had to put that first. Easter I am having about 10 people for dinner. Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, squash, asparagus. Half moon cookies, apple pie, coffee cake for dessert. These are my families favorites, not traditional Easter food. Can you tell we like Thanksgiving better?
Have a great weekend!

Running 3.5 mile pick-ups as soon as I finish this smoothie! (5-mile race in 8 days – first 5-miler ever!)

March Fitness had this awesome recipe:
http://www.fitnessmagazine.com/recipe/spaghetti-with-roasted-red-peppers-walnuts-and-goat-cheese/
Even my boyfriend liked it (if I left out the walnuts, of course).

AND I am seeing a PLAY tomorrow. This will be the second play I have seen in eight days, which is unheard of for an actor. Sooo lucky!

GOOD LUCK on your 5k & HAVE FUN!

Love your blog Janae! Thanks so much for the motivation!! :-) No races this weekend but got in 7 miles EARLY this am before the kiddies activities start and resting easy for the rest of the weekend! I dont think I’ve never met a pasta dish that I havent liked LOL But if I had to pick one it would be baked ziti!! Mmm Mmm Good! God bless you and your family this Easter :-)

Reply

Mmm I love pasta but rarely eat it. I like lasagna, manicotti, or ravioli best as long as it’s stuffed with delicious cheeses or some odd combination of flavors.

Today we are celebrating with Daniel’s family (HUGE family – he’s the youngest of seven kids), and there will be an egg hunt for my nieces and nephews (there are fourteen of them) and then dinner. We are going to a wedding tonight. Tomorrow we will go to church and then have Easter lunch with my family.

Those onesies are adorable!!!

I have Monday off work and the weather is supposed to be nice so I am hoping to get out (finally) for easy run maybe 8-10km :) I am so excited! I have not ran over 6km or so since the fall!
I am not a huge pasta person but I do love good old mac and cheese :)
I am hosting Easter brunch today for my family then tomorrow we are going to my husband’s Dad’s house for Easter supper.

Reply

Love the onesies! Too too cute. I ran 8 miles yesterday and it was wonderful! The weather was not too hot, but not too chilly. Loved it.
My favorite pasta dish is one that is made with my family’s recipe for spaghetti sauce. When my grandparents were alive, my grandma would make spaghetti. She learned to make sauce from my grandpa’s mom (who came over from Sicily). The sauce was not done until my grandpa had taste tested it and declared it ready. So cute remembering them standing next to the stove and my grandma feeding a spoonful of sauce to my grandpa. Happy memories!
Easter is family time! Yesterday we dyed eggs. Well, most of us, the two year old squished an egg in her hand. Never a dull moment! :) Today an Easter egg hunt for the kiddos and tomorrow is church and a family get together. Good times!

Reply

I’m going to yoga today, and then I have a 10-miler tomorrow. Excited to be running in the double digits again! ;)

Favorite pasta dish would have to be Olive Garden’s chicken fettuccine alfredo!

We’re getting together with my sister-in-law’s family, which is what we do for most holidays. It’s nice of them to “adopt us” because we don’t really have any other family down here!

Reply

Gosh they make the cutest onesies now! I am heading down to my Mom’s in Colorado for Easter and hoping to get a 15 miler in today as long as the crazy winds don’t kick up.

Reply

This little hole-in-the-wall cafe in Seattle has an a-MAZING mushroom pasta dish. When I still lived in the PNW I’d go there every chance I got, and I never needed the menu. I miss that place!

Reply

I totes thought of u when we went to cafe rio for dinner last night. Easter plans=eating shrimp and feta cheese pasta with friends. I feel like that answers 2 questions ;) probably an 8 to 10 miler today depending on how my knees feel

Reply

Those onesies are adorable!

Reply

what is this italian version of cafe rio that you speak of?!?! i need to try it out! :)
i absolutely LOVE those onesies! so stinkin cute!

Reply

I work all this weekend (last two days of work until I go to Colorado!)

And I probably won’t be running this week because I have a blister BETWEEN MY TOES (pinky and 4th toe) that hurts like none other… and I don’t want to try to run cuz I’m sure I’ll compensate somehow and end up hurting something else.

And those onesies are adorable!

Reply

That 5K will be over before you know it!

Reply

Precious onesies! Good luck with the 5k! My husband and I are at our beach condo for the long wkend. Heaven!! I have a 1/2 marathon this am!!! I can’t wait. Running at the beach is a million times better than running anywhere else!

Just knocked out 18 miles on the treadmill! Woohoo now it is time to sit back and relax the rest of the weekend!

Good luck on your 5k! You will ROCK IT!

I love the one that says “will run for milk” just perfect!

I actually tried Group Ride today, something like Spinning, (so they say), :).

I will try to get in a run today sometime … probably a short one.

Easter … Run, Mass, and lunch or dinner still planning the menu … Italian tradition lamb … but I do not feel like lamb this year … I saw a cute pic on Facebook and it just ruined it for me … I am still a carnivore … but for some reason this had an effect on me this year!

Have a great 5K!

Reply

I love the onsies!! They are adorable and perfect for your baby :D
Just my usual running at the beach path this weekend.. I didn’t run the last couple of days.. so I need to squeeze it in today & tomorrow!!

Easter – be with my hubby’s family and eat 100 calories worth of food.. and go running :D

Reply

My favorite pasta dish? Pasta in general, girl. Any kind of pasta will do. Although I had a baked seafood lasagna at a local restaurant last week and kind of fell in love with it … but seriously, you put pasta in front of me and I’m pretty much guaranteed to fall in love with it.

Easter is at my parents house this weekend. I’m actually catching up on my blog reading from their kitchen table right now while they go shopping for last minute stuff for dinner. Have a fabulous weekend!
