Once again I will grace you with another incredibly blurry photo.  At least it is better than my normal picture taken in my school’s bathroom.

Photo copy

While I was at Pizza Factory the other day for lunch I had to go to the restroom every 10 minutes like normal and as I was walking by there was a sweet mirror so I thought, why not take a full body/belly picture of myself?  Right as I was taking it some guy walked down the stairs and it was really awkward.  I don’t think he understood my need to share every little detail of my pregnancy with you guys.

Changes this week:

-I am really starting to show now which is fun because because people can tell that I am pregnant and encourage me eating 2 oreo blizzards in one sitting.

-This whole time I have been thinking I am having a girl but now I feel positive that it is a boy.  I trust my opinion.

-I have gone from using 2 sports bras to now sometimes 3.  WIll someone PLEASE send me a link for an amazing sports bra so that I can just wear 1 at a time.

-I am telling you, this second trimester is a piece of cake compared to the first…let’s just hope the third is the same way.

-I started making a list of all the things that we need to buy and it scared me so I stopped.

-I really need a maple donut but I think that is just normal Janae and not pregnant Janae talking.

-I read somewhere that during this time that there is an increased oil production….aka why my skin has gone absolutely bonkers.

I thought I was having girls with both of my pregnancies. I was right both times!

Reply

Every time, my initial gut feeling was right even though every time I convinced myself otherwise. Even knowing that track record! LOL

Have you tried a MC Juno bra? Or an Enell?

I used to have cycle-affected skin. And there were periods during pregnancies where breakouts were horrible. But my skin really had a hard time postpartum when all the hormones were trying to figure out what the heck they were doing.

You look awesome! Your baby bump is getting cuter and cuter!

I am not preg, but a DD (ugh!) and bought moving comfort sports bras for the first time a couple of months ago and they are so amazing!!! They have different styles and the 2 I purchased are so awesome! I wear only one at a time, even when I’m running. I have always always had to wear 2 or 3 so they def work! They’re expensive, but a good investment. It’s like a contraption that will solve your problem for you!! Also, CaitlinHTP had a post about sports bras not long ago if you go to her blog… The comments section of the post is what convinced me to buy moving comfort bras in the first place!

Phewww this is officially the longest comment I’ve ever left.. Hope you find a solution! You are such a cute lil preg lady!

Reply

I second Megan!
Im also a D-DD and moving comfort is awesome! Also, I have a few basic sports bras I have from before I discovered MC and with those I actually wear a regular bra with the sports bra on top. I have specific regular bras I use of course (racerbacks usually) but it helps alot. the regular bra hold them up and the sports bra holds them, if that makes sense (and hopefully isnt TMI!) haha

Reply

Yes, moving comfort is the way to go. I am a natural DD and those are the only bras that I wear to run.

Reply

Moving comfort! The Juno or Fiona bras are great for running!

Reply

I second the Juno and Fiona, also I’ve heard they’re great after pregnancy for breastfeeding since the straps are adjustable from the front.

And they’re cheaper here:

I have that shirt. :) Your little bump is cute. It’s fun when people can start to tell you’re pregnant. I thought my baby was a girl before the ultrasound, but we have a little boy!

Reply

You look adorable. I love the picture updates.

I didn’t know if I was having two boys or a boy and a girl, but I definitely knew I wasn’t having two girls. I guess I kind of had a feeling I was having a boy and a girl. I was right.

I didn’t have any acne during my pregnancy. It was awesome. My cycles sometimes affect my skin.

So stinking cute!!! And so exciting!! I bet this takes HUNGRY runner girl to an entirely new level. So happy for you Janae.

You look great!

Are you going to find out if it’s going to be a boy or girl?
I love babycenter…. I still get emails about my baby, it’s so neat to know the growth and read up on interesting stories :)

Reply

I’ve never been pregnant, but I am… well endowed… and I swear by the Moving Comfort bras. My favorite is the Fiona.

Also, they’re on sale on REI’s website right now. :)

Reply

I agree with this. I’m also ahem…well endowed, and I bought a Fiona about a year ago and now that’s the only type of sports bra that I wear.

Reply

I love the Fiona bra as well! They are decently priced on Amazon and come in lots of sizes–I need a size 30 band which is not easy to find with my cup size. But they always have it on Amazon and in several colors too.

Reply

You are just too cute!! I don’t have big boobs at all, but I worked at a running store and big-boobed women SWEAR by moving comfort.

And my cycle totally makes my skin go haywire. I’m 28 years old…it drives me nuts!

No babies here, but if you think you’re having a boy, I believe you! :)

Reply

From the time I found out I was pregnant, I just knew it was a boy. I told everyone I thought it was a boy and no one agreed, everyone thought it was a girl. Guess who was right? hahaha, ME! 3rd trimester is ok until around 30 weeks then things get tough and sore. Enjoy the 2nd trimester!! I didn’t have the oil problem, I actually haven’t had a zit since I got pregnant, it’s made my skin super dry instead. You look great :)

Reply

I thought we were having a girl the entire time and so did Brandon. My family and his on the other hand were all voting boy. Kind of funny b/c random people would also guess boy based on my cravings (salty foods and red meat) and how I was carrying the baby. Well….. 100% girl. :) I do think there is some truth to ones gut instinct. I’m excited to learn what you guys are having. So fun either way!!

My skin has actually cleared up during pregnancy. Imagine that! I am nervous that after I deliver (I’m 37 weeks today!) that my skin issues will all come creeping back. Heres to wishful thinking…

Reply

Janae, try Enessa Clove Acne Control; it’s a natural solution that I used for acne during pregnancy. Mine was OOC & I had large ones under the skin on my jaw line that hurt; this was recommened to me by someone I get facials from a couple of times a year. It’s smell is a little strong (the cloves) & it’s $40-50, but worth every penny:-) Congrats on your pregnancy! My husband & I didn’t find out; I dreamt of a girl, he thought for sure a girl, & like you 2nd tri on I knew it was a boy & I was right! You’re super motivating & I plan on running through my next pregnancy….thanks for sharing! ~Gina

Moving comfort sports bras! They work like a charm. I also like under armours sports bras that have actual number sizes and not just S,M,L….they just came out with a new one I’m saving up to try.

Oh man, you are just the cutest preggers lady ever!

Reply

Hey congrats! I totally knew both my kids were girls. It’s funny though, during my second pregnancy EVERYONE (complete strangers) would come up to me and say “oh you’re having a boy.” And I was all, “why would that be obvious by looking at me?” So, I thought maybe I was wrong, but I was right. I have two ladies. ;)

You look great by the way!

I would look at buying a sports bra from lululemon!

Cute baby bump :)

I’m not pregnant, but I am a D cup and I enjoy me speed work and 3 hr runs. Result? Discovery of the world’s most amazing bra: Moving Comfort’s Fiona bra. If you need even more support, the Juno has the gal’s on lockdown. I just like the Fiona better and it has better support. Check out sierra trading post for finding them on sale. It takes the price down to reasonable ($25ish normally).

Reply

Janae I just went to Sierra and got this exact bra (MC Fiona), with the top coupon from here: http://www.retailmenot.com/view/sierratradingpost.com –it made it 28 bucks shipped :) (thank you Kathy!)

I would recommend the Nike Pro Compression Sports Bra.

Reply

Don’t worry about buying things, hun. Trust me–your friends, family, and coworkers will buy you everything you and the baby need plus stuff you don’t! And all those things people say you NEED, you really don’t…a carrier/sling, receiving blanket, stroller, and diaper stuff are the essentials and you can get by without the other stuff. My bff and I (I helped raise my goddaughter for the first 1 1/2 years) ended up selling most of the stuff she got for the baby back to ‘Once Upon a Child’ because it was just unnecessary.
And I agree with Kathy–Sierra Trading Co. is a great place for reasonably priced gear!

Reply

I have small bubbies – and buy them from Old Navy and Forever 21.

I used to love when my coworker was pregnant. She would get emails letting her know what shize/shape of a fruit or random food her little cherub was.

In turn – I would need to go to the store and get that food.

Carrot cravings?

I was well endowed before my pregnancy, I had to special order my nursing bras because stores didn’t carry them brasavy.com.
But running wise, I lived for this bra
http://www.championusa.com/workout-clothes/sports-bras-43553–1/maximum-support-sportsbras/champion-powerback-underwire-sports-bra.

My ance was out of control when I was pregnant. I thought it was a rash because it was on my back and so bad. I ended up going to the dermatologist and they gave me a prego safe cream. ( everyone thought boy because of the rash, but I have a little lady…I flip flopped so I was right 50%)

Reply

I was so so positive I was going to have a boy before I got the ultrasound…it was a girl. My gut instinct was crummy I guess ;P oh well, I was so excited about my girl, just couldn’t believe it wasn’t a boy! Can’t wait to hear what you are going to have!

I am a D cup and these are the best (and on sale!). I used to wear the Champion brand from Target and I would have to double up most of the time..it got really annoying to wash 10 bras a week! These last forever, I found mine at the Nike Outlet store, so they were a steal!

I’m not ready to have kids yet, but I would really like to in the future (maybe 5-10 years from now..I’m 22!), but I had terrible skin in high school! It cleared up as soon as I went on the Pill and it’s been clear since. I found that if I used products that dried out my skin it just got worse!

But you don’t have to worry, you are beautiful no matter what! I can’t wait to find out if it’s a boy or girl! Have a great weekend :)

Reply

Have you heard the old wives’ tail that if the mom starts to look less attractive during pregnancy (acne, bad hair, etc.), that she’s having a girl, because girls steal your beauty? If that’s the case, I’m pretty sure you’re having a boy because you look awesome.

Reply

Wait to buy baby things until after the baby shower. I was overwhelmed with all the baby items I needed to buy, and freaked out about how we were going to afford it all. After my baby shower though, we hardly needed anything. We were so very blessed with great family and friends who were so very generous. I bet you’ll find the same thing!

Yes, yes, yes x 1,000,000! I know that Moving Comfort is supposed to be great, too, but once I tried a Ta-Ta Tamer, I swore I’d never go back.

They’re definitely on the expensive side, but are adjustable – cross-back straps or regular – and have removable cups, so you can adjust for comfort. They also last for.ev.er.

And even if they don’t, they’re awesome about replacing stuff – Tina of Carrots N’ Cake mentioned that she took her Lululemon bra back after years because her hooks were rusted and they gave her a bra, free of charge. You CAN’T beat that!

Longest post ever. I swear I’m not a Lululemon spokeswoman – just a loyal customer when it comes to my tatas.

You look adorable and are a kickass strong pregnant woman, lady!

I felt amazing during my second trimester, had so much energy. It’s the third that really gets ya, when you get big as a house and then my feet swelled so bad. My skin was amazingly clear throughout my pregnancy. I had the best skin and hair. After my daughter was I reverted back to my normal, broken out skin.

Moving Comfort Fiona bras rock!!! You can get them at Bare Necessities.com

1. I’ve thought boy since the beginning. We had our ultrasound last week and it’s a girl! And an uncooperative one at that, she kept herself scrunched up the whole time so we didn’t get all the measurements needed and are going back again next week, which I’m happy about just to make double-sure that my intuition was wrong :-).
2. I was big-chested before getting pregnant and discovered that the Champion “Double Dry® Seamless Full-Support Underwire Sports Bra” worked best for me, and it’s still working great now. I like that it comes in sizes that relate to cup sizes, it’s usually hard to find something with a small band size and a large cup size. (http://www.championusa.com/workout-clothes/outlet/womens-outlet/womens-outlet-tops/champion-double-dry-reg%3B-seamless-full-support-underwire-sports-bra-23807–1 and http://www.championusa.com/workout-clothes/sports-bras-43553–1/view-all-sports-bras/champion-double-dry-full-support-underwire-sports-bra) On sale right now and in cute colors!
3. My pores have been so clogged since getting pregnant (and having to stop using my St. Ives scrub because of the salic acid), it sucks. I haven’t found anything great to help yet, I’ll have to check out some of the other folk’s recommendations.

Hit up the REI sale section! I always can find the motion comfort ones on sale, sometimes almost half off! They are fantastic :) although the first few times you wear them they are TIGHT and hard to get in and out of. My husband had to help me Hahahahaha.

I hope you’re enjoying CA! I hear it’s gorgeous there right now :)

I agree with everyone else, Moving Comfort JUNO! If you get really desperate the Enell is good, but it’s super duper hard core.

Umm the 2nd trimester is kind of like the honeymoon period of pregnancy. The 3rd is full of different kinds of woes. Haha. Enjoy these weeks!! And I dreamt we were having a boy but had a gut feeling it was a girl. Emmalyne is most certainly a girl ;)

3 sports bras ?? That’s got to be annoying! But I’m no help, I have zero happening in the chest area…

I’ve never been pregnant but my cycle deeeefinitely messes with my skin, which is always a pain anyway. Oh the joys.

Reply

Other people have mentioned the moving comfort bra, and I concur. I am a DD and need all the help I can get. It’s the first time I’ve been able to wear only one bra to run. And I bought mine thru Amazon for around $35, which is peanuts for a big busted woman. Good luck!

Reply

The first time we went in babies r us I nearly had a panic attack! I had no idea where to start and were we really going to 2 of everything!? The baby showers really helped and people are so generous.
I’m pretty sure you’re having a boy :)
Wait til the end of the 3rd trimester…oh it’s fun! Mine was during the summer and my feet were so swollen it looked like I had hobbit feet! I really could have used a crane to get out of bed because it was so hard to turn and get up.
I’m jealous of your CA runs!! Have fine!!

Reply

Yay…over half way there now!
Yes, my skin was definitely affected when I was pregnant!!
I had a feeling we were going to have a girl. I couldn’t imagine myself having a boy for some reason. Turns out we have a girl who loves to roughhouse just like a boy.
I bought a great sports bra at roadrunner sports. It clasps in the back with 3 different lengths and it velcros on the arm bands to tighten or loosen the tatas. It’s been great for me and would work great too if you nurse!

Reply

This has nothing to do with your questions and I’m not a mama but I have heard from a lot of mothers that the first time you spend way too much money on things you don’t need. Like toys, they won’t even want them or need them for like a year. Also clothes… don’t need that many bc they will grow out of them every couple of weeks. So don’t worry about the stuff you don’t have, you probably don’t even need a lot of it and I’m sure you’ll get lots of stuff at baby showers. Good luck with everything. :)

Reply

I wear two Target sports bras and yea, they don’t work so well, but they are better than any other brand. I did find a new kind there that comes in sizes and has three clasps on the back. It’s pretty tight.

I had no clue if it was a boy or girl. every one said girls make you fatter and sicker but I was not sick and only gained 20 lbs. I had a girl.

Reply

Look at your baby bump. So cute!

That is all. :-)

Reply

You need to TaTa Tamer from lululemon! Its so comfortable, even when running, and doesnt even look like you are wearing a sports bra (aka uni-boob). I wear it even when im not running too! And you can cross the straps or leave them normal, which is great for the summer time depending on your running tank choice.

So adorable!

As most folks above said- Moving Comfort ALL THE WAY! I love love the Juno and the Fiona. Highly recommended!

Reply

I love love the Juno bra by moving comfort…and I’d recommend going down a band size. So like if you are a 34c get a 32 d. I never had problems with bras until babies and this bra has seriously been my saving grace!

Reply

I was a lazy pregnant girl so no help on the bra ; )

I don’t remember any skin issues.

I was convinced it was a boy. We did not find out the sex until delivery which was so much fun – I loved it. She is a girl ; ) I think I convinced myself it was a boy because I was scared to admit I really wanted a girl. I didn’t want to get that idea in my head of wanting a girl and then have it be a boy. Funny thing is when they got her out (c-section) they were so amazed by her size (10.5lbs) they were all screaming to get “it” on the scale and nobody thought to tell us if it was a boy or a girl. When they said girl I didn’t believe it until my husband went to check.

Reply

Oh yes, the skin thing. These preggers hormones mess with them! My first and this 2nd pregnancy, my skin goes crazy and I hate it! So worth it though :) I was pretty sure I was having a boy the first time and sure enough I did. This time around, I was pretty sure girl (only because I kind of hoped for another boy and I know this is my last so I was bound to get a girl :) And yep, it’s a girl. It’s good to trust your instincts, but with this, you just never know until that ultrasound!

Reply

I have the skin of a 14 year old right now and I dislike it! I was the same with my first and the worse part is that most of the acne cleansers contain ingredients a pregnant woman shouldn’t use. Sigh. At least I know it will go back to normal after the baby comes :)
I felt our first was a boy ( I was right) but this time I have no clue!
Looking good mama!

I just knew I was having a girl. I was right, but I had two instead of just one! They will be 12 in August.

Enjoy the second trimester! It’s a wonderful little break between the exhaustion of the 1st and the endlessness of the 3rd! You feel soooooooo good during Trimester 2. Soak it up!

I am not dainty and need a very supportive exercise bra. The Enell is what I use. It’s expensive, but it works well for me. It could be something about the 11!! hooks that run up the front to holster yourself in!

No skin changes that I can remember.

I would also be that the way the straps come off that it will be super useful during nursing?! Maybe? Possibly?

As of last night I just started trying coconut oil on my skin as a moisturizer. I have had too many people say to try it (I have acne prone skin that is also sensitivo!) to not try. I’ll let you know….

Girl. Movingcomfort.com! I know some others said the same and I concur. I’m a DD and they keep those suckers in place! I have a Juno but they have a handy sort option where you can look at all the ones they have for your cup size. They can run a little pricey but I got mine on sale (active.com sometimes sends out coupon codes, too) for about $30. Worth it!

I have no boobs, so probably duct tape would work over here. But runner’s world just did an article on bras for all sizes:

http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-240-320–14092-0,00.html

I usually trust them with gear reviews.

Reply

With my first, I was sure it was a boy and I was right. With my second, I had no doubt it was a girl, and I was correct. This last pregnancy with my third, I had no clue. So when they told us it was a girl, I was shocked. I would have been shocked if they said I was having a boy too. I had to double up on my sports bras too. So I can’t help you with that one. The only time I experienced pregnancy acne was during both of my pregnancies with my daughters. I heard it was an old wives tale. Not sure if it holds true. I can’t wait until you find out.

Reply

I HIGHLY recommend the Moving Comfort Juno bra. It is a little pricey, and can be hard to get on, but once it is on nothing moves.

So cute Janae! I was convinced I was having a boy–I even bought a blue outfit for ‘him’ to come home in. When the dr said ‘its a girl’ I said ‘are you sure?!?!’. My husband was the only one that got it right–everyone else thought i was having a boy too.

I swear by this bra I am a 34DD and this is my life saver. I like it because 1) there is no bounce 2) no chaffing like you get when you wear more than one 3) there is no uni-boob. It keeps the girls separate from one another. 4) The racer back shifts the weight off my shoulders and spreads it across my back.

The only issue I have with it is the getting on and off issue. Gib (my hubby) calls it the Hudini bra because he thinks it would take Hudini to get out of it.

Honestly, I recommend going into a running store that has sports bras for women with a chest (I think most are pretty good about that these days) and try them on. Jump up and down. See how it feels and fits when you are moving before you purchase it. Thats how I settled on this one.

Reply

I didn’t read the previous comments but the juno bra is supposed to be amazing….

I hope XLMIC doesn’t mind that I’m linking her up but you have to see her vid…..it’s a must see review of the bra ;)

Reply

I went back and forth on what I was having. Ended up having boys both times. I pretty much knew it would be a boy the 2nd time. My cycle definitely brings on skin changes. Not so much while I was pregnant. After I turned 30 is when I noticed a difference. I use Proactive and it works pretty well.

Reply

I totally guessed right on what my soon to be baby was. I kind of knew from the start it was a boy but didn’t tell anyone until we got the ultrasound. But a mom’s intuition is very good!

Plus I did and still have some wonderful acne going on, I attribute that to the extra boy hormones in me right now. Good Luck!

Hi Carrot Baby!!!

My boobs are ginormous, and I have worn 2-3 sports bras since I was in junior high….UNTIL I FOUND THE VSX BRA from Victoria’s Secret. It is fantastic and awesome and does not give me a uni-boob either. I wear one of them. It is joyous. Buy one.

Reply

I also recommend the moving comfort Juno bra. I got mine on amazon. I am a 30F (try finding that at Target, ha!) and 32 DD works for me in that brand/style.

Moving Comfort makes the best sports bras to really hold you in place. Super comfy too. I personally love the Juno but also one Fiona and Rebound Racer. They’ve spent a long time developing just the right fit and support for women. Amazing company. Oh and if you’re in the spending mood, the Flow pants are incredible.

Reply

My skin was great with my son, bad with my daughter. They say girls steal their mama’s looks…sure you dont have a sweet pea in there?! Go with your intuition. I knew my boy was a boy- I did not think my girl was a girl because my hubs side is all boys- they all have boys. Boys boys boys, lol.

Agree with moving comfort. I never had big tatas and now I am barely an A cup (tear) but I still love their sports bras. Plus for us small chested girls they have cups to fake boobs. Wooohooo! :)

Title 9 website has a bra called “the last resort bra” it’s AMAZING!!

Awh…you are so cute!! Your about that time to start popping! It seemed like it took me forever to pop (around 25 weeks). Trust me this a good thing cuz now I can barely tie my shoes. haha!

I haven’t had any problems with my skin from being pregnant – pregnancy actually helped my skin. People tell me I have that ‘glow.’ Which is pretty awesome! :)

I’m curious if you get super untactful comments? I should keep a list of all the weird things people say to me. They are just hilarious! One lady asked me if I felt fat yet, I was asked to “please start wearing materinity pants because it’ll make me feel better about myself,” someone said, “You look fluffier today,” and then someone requested that I turn around so she could see if my butt got bigger! SOOOO weird but very funny!

Ahhhh you have the cutest little baby bump, you look amazing!

I don’t know much about being pregnant, or needing a good sportsbra haha, but I really love Lululemon’s 50 Rep bra, Evergy Bra and their All Sport Bra. They’re not too crazy-priced compared to other sportsbras either – plus they last forever :)

For sports bras – my favorite brand is Moving Comfort and they have a tool that will help you pick the right size and type.

Everyone told me that I was having a girl. I think 98% of the people who made guesses said girl. I kept telling them that I was having a boy and sure enough… I did.

I actually read somewhere that when a mother has a feeling of one sex over the other she is right 70% of the time. I also think you are having a boy.

JANAE!!! How was your running in your first trimester!??! Any chances of getting a post (or reply) about how it affected you, and what you had to do differently?!

Loving the Toms…and love when you walk by people after an awkward situation happens. Makes me laugh a little ;)

I was absolutely POSITIVE I was having a boy. And I had a girl. So much for mother’s intuition!

My skin never looked better when I was pregnant (same for my hair and nails). I thought it was because of the prenatal vitamins. My skin did breakout for while after I had my daughter, though.
