Best friends and the dinner I have been dreaming about.

Some days I like to be extremely lazy and somedays I want to do everything in the world.  Yesterday was an everything in the world type day and I wanted to see some of my favorite peeps.

I went to visit my best friend since the FOURTH grade (the day I moved into the neighborhood she rode her bike over with treats in her bike basket. The treats she brought over were heavenly and that is how I knew right away we would be best friends).

She has the most adorable little girl and she is also pregnant, we are due 5 weeks apart.   The little one even shared her clementine with me, how is she so much better at sharing food than I am?

PS we both met our husbands in parking lots, I am telling you….that is where the magic happens:)

Photo

I had a strong craving for an x-large lemonade from Mickey D’s and dragged my gorgeous girls Megan and Ashley with me.

Over the last 16 months of blogging my photography skills have really improved, anyone want to hire me for their wedding or family photos?

Photo 1

My dreams were finally fulfilled and we had burgers for dinner last night.  Only problem was that we didn’t have any buns and I refuse to go to the grocery store for just one thing and really all I really wanted was the meat.  12 ounces of ketchup added post photo.

Who needs hamburger buns when I would so much rather get in my carbs via baked potatoes and ice cream for the 2nd time in a day.  If I was eating ice cream every day before I was pregnant then it makes PERFECT sense to eat it twice a day when I am pregnant.

Did you see that Craig Alexander WON the Melbourne triathlon on Sunday?

Any triathletes reading today?  What is your favorite race distance for the tri?  What made you want to do a triathlon?

What dinner have you been dreaming about?

A cute friend of mine emailed me and I thought you guys could help! She is trying to find some healthy late night snacks to eat when the munchies attack?  She eats dinner at 6 and gets hungry before she goes to bed at 11.  What do you recommend?

Wow!! Running a 2 hour 38 minute marathon AFTER swimming and biking for a gazillion miles?? Is he human??

Late night snacks that don’t do too much damage?: Low fat popcorn, tea or hot chocolate with some dry cereal…if I’m craving something salty (i.e. nachos), I cut up zucchini, melt cheese on the slices, add some salt, and then dip them in salsa. If I’m craving ice cream, I take out a frozen banana from my freezer, zap it for 25 seconds to make it soft enough to mash/blend, and then mix it with a little milk and yogurt to give it a creamy texture. I swear it’s amazing and satisfies my ice cream craving!! Sometimes I even add peanut butter to it.

Reply

Seriously…I can’t even imagine doing that on fresh legs ha. Your ideas are awesome and I seriously want to try out your nachos idea, love it. Your banana idea is brilliant also!

I met my best friend when I was less than 1 years old…clearly mommas know best :)! After having scrambled egg tacos on Sunday, I have been looking forward to repeating that meal tonight – woo :)! As for your friend, Greek yogurt and fruit is my favorite current snack: it ties me over till breakfast without weighing me down….I eat it about 40 minutes before I sleep and pass out like a light :)!

Reply

Less than one year old…that is the coolest thing EVER!! I am totally going to copy your egg taco idea, that is brilliant. I hear ya about yogurt and fruit, so good! Have an amazing day gorgeous!

Reply

I was fourteen and we live far away but hang out whenever we can! I love cottage cheese as a late night snack. The protein really helps keep me satisfied. Sometimes I’ll mix in some peanut butter. Sounds gross but tastes delicious :)

Reply

I knew we were meant to be friends, cottage cheese makes an awesome snack at any time of day or night:) Once I am back to loving PB again I will totally try your combo!

Reply

I did my first tri this weekend! it was indoor and obviously a sprint, but i got 1st place in my age group! woo! I know I could NEVER do an ironman…just doing the sprint made my legs want to fall off! That is crazy!!

Reply

MOLLY!! CONGRATS, that is seriously so awesome and FIRST place on your FIRST tri…you rocked it. I bet you could build up to the ironman!

Reply

i met my best friend when we were in 3rd grade.. we moved to nyc together last year but dont live together, we see each other at least once a week but talk 209 times a day :)

dinner ive been dreaming of.. a mexican food feast! tons of salty chips, salsa, guacamole, with a big huge salad and a low-carb burrito with chicken, cheese and avocado. good thing my bday is thursday and thats where im goin! :)

late night snack.. plain greek yogurt with splenda, unsweetened cocoa powder, honey.. mix it together, stick it in the freezer after she eats dinner and when shes ready for the snack.. its like froyo!

Reply

That is so awesome that you moved to NYC together. 209 times a day…I love it. Um, can I come over for your mexican food feast?!?!

Reply

i was two when i met my best friend – she lives 4 houses down the street from me and was like my surrogate sister. I miss her as we live so far away now, but whenever we see each other we just pick up where we left off, and she’s already doing an amazing job of being my maid of honour for my wedding this summer.
I heart triathlons because it’s 3 SPORTS IN ONE!!! what’s not to love?! my favourite distance is olympic, but i’ve never done anything longer, so i have no frame of reference!
i like grapes or cereal as my bedtime snack. not sure how healthy that is though!

Reply

TWO…that is awesome! I love that she will be your maid of honor. Are you going to do any longer distances? Cereal IS healthy! PS the nike zoom elite+ look so cool, I want some now:)

Reply

The Nikes are SO pretty, right?! I was planning on doing Ironman 70.3 UK but it takes place while I’m on my honeymoon! there’s always next year, i guess.
It’s so cool that your best friend is due really close to you – your kids will be best friends too, and there’s nothing better than the friends you’ve known forever!

Reply

Ironmen are seriously unreal! I can’t get over how fast their marathon times are after everything else they did that day!

Reply

I am just as good a photographer :P

And Craig Alexander is amazing. And really friendly too! I saw him at St. Anthony’s Tri in St. Pete, FL and he took the time to stop and say hello and everything! What a beast, 2:38 marathon after a killer swim and bike!!

Reply

I met my best friend in my backyard in 4th grade! Her family moved into the house behind mine and we shared backyards. We walked to school and hung out every day after that and 14 years later we are still best friends!

I did my first tri 2 years ago because of a bad breakup. It was the best way to keep me busy and focus on something! I definitely prefer the sprint tri (with a short swim but longer bike). I am in awe of anyone who even signs up for an Ironman let alone completes it in that time!

Reply

My best friend and I met in first grade – and she was my maid of honor!

Reply

Awwww how fun to hang with your bf!!? :)

I met mine when I was 2 years old in Toddlers class and we’re still friends–she actually started a healthy living blog too. It’s amazing! Love that-she is super awesome.

That ice cream looks good! YUMM

Reply

I have a few best friends and met them all at different times, one in grade 2, two in grade 9 and one about 6 years ago. I see them all as much as possible, which isn’t enough but maybe monthly?
I like protein heavy or healthy fat snacks before bed so Greek yogurt and berries, almonds & dried fruit or a small bowl of granola and almond milk.

Reply

My bestfriend and I met when our parents got married – we were both 10. Our parents had been secretly dating and announced on a Tuesday that they were getting married on Saturday. It was quite surreal, and the marriage didn’t last more than 8 years, but I got a best friend out of the deal! My family just moved to Dallas to be closer to her and now we see each other at least once or twice a week. I like babybel cheese wheels for snacks in the evening. Or laughing cow cheese and pretzel goldfish crackers. Or a tortilla with laughing cow cheese. Now I’m hungry!

Reply

Okay, that is the coolest thing ever (not the divorce but the getting a best friend:) So glad you still see each other. Okay, I MUST get those cheese wheels now that you mention it. SO GOOD especially with the pretzel goldfish crackers!

Reply

My best friend and I met in our 1st grade Sunday School class. Now that I live in the Midwest and she still lives in Alaska, we only see each other about once a year. But when we do, it’s like we never spent any time apart!

I’ve never done a tri… although I’d like to one day! The swimming part makes me nervous, since I’m a doggy-paddler :)

Reply

Hmm late night munchies are tough! I would suggest some greek yogurt with fruit or granola. It has a lot of staying power and depending on which flavor you get it’s kind of like a dessert too!

Reply

Ohhh late night snacks!!! My favorites include bananas with a little bit of peanut or almond butter, greek yogurt, or yogurt based smoothies with a little bit of milk and fruit – I like these because they fill you up, but you don’t go to bed feeling stuffed.

And I’ve been dreaming about grilled cheese recently….:)

Reply

I’d recommend something with a little fat and protein, so she feels full. Maybe some low-fat chocolate milk or a little peanut butter on crackers or bread?

Have a great day! :)

Reply

I love popcorn!! I am so excited about all the postive news regarding it’s antioxidant benefits. Tell your friend, to snack on popcorn as a late night snack. I buy just the kernels and to make the popcorn, I put the kernels in a a brown paper bag with some oil and put in the microwave on the normal popcorn setting. Bam! Healthy popcorn snacking!

Reply

ha..we are opposites in that i’m at the grocery store all the time…sometimes to pick up just 1 thing (and then i inevitably throw something else must have in there, like ice cream or chocolate)

i met my bestest friend when i was 17..we’ve been friends for almost 10 years this september. freshman year of college! i have other friends that ive had for longer but shes my bestest..we used to live together during and after college but then i moved in with kevin and she moved in with her boy so we try and see each other at least a few times a month! (which is weird when you were used to seeing each other every single day!)

i would love to do a triathalon but im a terrible swimmer. i am planning on buying a road bike FINALLY this month though…trying to get out of the gym and change it up a bit!

Reply

That is an insane triathlon time! My husband has done 2 ironmans, and he HATES the swim. Just finishing an ironman is so impressive.
I actually met one of my best friends 2 years ago – it’s amazing that you can meet someone so much later in life that you connect with.
The snacking later thing – I guess I would go for airpopped popcorn, or something really lite. Not something too heavy because she will be going to bed. or even just try drinking hot chocolate almond milk sweetened with stevia or something, or a small square of dark chocolate. I don’t like to eat later in the evening, so that’s a tough one for me!
Have a great day!!

Reply

Triathlete here! I’ve only raced sprint distances, but I’m training for a half Ironman this summer. I’m enjoying the longer distances a lot more–sprint triathlons are literally a SPRINT, and they hurt!!! But good gracious, that Crowie… superhuman, I tell ya. Brown too!

Reply

AHHH Rachel, that is so awesome that you are training for a half and I better hear all about it!

Reply

I have two bestest friends … one I met in the 10th grade (I’m one of her bridesmaids this summer!) and the other I met my very first day of college. She shook my hand and introduced herself like a total dork ;) we’ve talked every single day since that moment!

Reply

How old were you when you met your bestest friend? Do you still get to see each other often?
– I met my best friend the day I was born, aka my sister. =)

A cute friend of mine emailed me and I thought you guys could help! She is trying to find some healthy late night snacks to eat when the munchies attack? She eats dinner at 6 and gets hungry before she goes to bed at 11. What do you recommend?
– Trail mix is my favorite snack. I get some that has mainly dried fruit and then some chocolate chips in it.

Reply

Okay, that was the best answer ever about your sister. Good call on the trail mix, I will definitely tell her about that!

Reply

Yay Melbourne pride!! That’s my city! :) Still warm downunder so nice time of year for a tri.

For late night snacks, popcorn is good, greek yogurt, fruit. Maybe a hot drink too like low fat chocolate milk. mmm.

Reply

Ha ha, I’ve just been dreaming about ANY dinner! I’m a victim of the microwave meals while our kitchen is being worked on…AHHH. That meal you posted looked so good!! Soon, soon, I know, I know!!
I’ve known my best friend for about 25 years! We met when we were 8 at a summer camp…wow how time flies and YAY that we still keep in touch!!

Reply

Come over and I will cook for you! 25 years, that is so so awesome!

Reply

I’m there. Packing my bags and will return the favor when my kitchen’s done. Jk!

Reply

SO HAPPY to see that my daily popcorn consumption is worthwhile :D

I met my best friend in kindergarten and we have been BFF’s ever since! Throughout elementary school our gym teacher called us the “twin towers” haha :P

Reply

Hmm let’s see, I met my best friend when I was in my early 20’s. We are really complete opposites, but really balance each other out in so many ways. Our foundation is Christ……..and working out. ;)

Reply

Best foundations to build upon:)

Reply

I met my best friend at 22.

Late night snacking?…… I eat basically a 4th meal before I go to bed. I used to try and make this not so because I thought I shouldn’t………but one day I was like, “just listen to your body”……..and I can honestly say my body does best with a bedtime snack of most people’s breakfasts…..(cereal, fruit, toast….etc)

Reply

I hear ya. Bfast always sounds so good to me late at night. That is why one of my favorite date nights is going to IHOP at 10 pm ha. Hope you are having a great day at school!

Reply

i love triathlon, so much easier on the body than just running! i am training for my first ironman….and do not recommend ever registering for one, haha!! i’m getting very burned out. i’d have to say Olympic is my favorite distance. ~1 mile swim, 25 mile bike, 10k – so manageable but also challenging enough to want to continue to improve your time.

Reply

Just read your comment and I agree! I did my first half ironman last spring and I didn’t like it that much (well I loved the swimming and running but hated the biking). I do a handful of sprint and olympic tris every summer and they’re just really good workouts :-)

Reply

I’ve done a bunch of sprints, and am training for my first half. I hate biking, love swimming and running. I am already feeling like the sprint and olympic distances are something I should stick with because the bike is more manageable!

Reply

CHRISTA…..I am so stoked for your first ironman and you are totally going to rock it. Jennifer you are going to rock your first 1/2. You girls are so inspiring!

Reply

We met in fourth grade. I don’t get to see her as often as I would like because we live 1900 miles apart now. But we talk at least once a week!

Dinner I’m dreaming about? Pita Pit veggie.

Popcorn snack for your friend! Keeps your hands busy, takes awhile to eat and I hear it’s full of antioxidants. =)

Reply

I saw that popcorn article too!! :-)

Also, Craig Alexander’s performance baffles me. I did my first half ironman last spring and it almost killed me (well, just the bike portion…it would’ve helped if I had trained better and was used to riding in the aero position). I’m a runner first and a fake triathlete haha. Think I’ll stick to sprint and olympic tris from now on

Do you like triathlons? I bet you’d be super speedy :-)

Reply

You are incredible…I can’t even imagine doing a half-ironman, you are my hero. I have done a few sprints and an olympic, I really need to get into swimming and figure out how to do that:)

Reply

Janae, i totally agree.. ice cream twice a day.. go for it girl!!! PS: i would also LOAD up on ketchup on that burger. I practically live off of ketchup. no shame!

Reply

I could pretty much add ketchup to everything I eat! PS your cake batter rice krispie treats are making me drool.

Reply

Hey Janae! As a photographer myself, I must compliment your photos. Really artistic stuff!
I met my best friend in 6th grade. She livcs in Austin so we don’t get to see eachother often, but everytime we do it’s just like old times!!

I am doing my first triathalon in April, and I’m so excited! I wanted to try a triathalon to challenge myself physically. I am just doing the sprint so It’s not too bad, but I think It’ll be a lot of fun! If I enjoy this one I’m planning on doing an Olympic. The brick workouts are pretty killer!! You should defenitley try one!!

What dinner have I not been dreaming about? Last night I had breakfast for dinner complete w/ blueberry pancakes and that was pretty legit.

I would recommend fruit and yogurt for a snack before dinner it’s a perfect sweet treat!

Reply

Jessie that means a lot ha! Maybe you could give me some tips:) I love that you are still so close to your bf. AHHHHHH You are going to rock your tri and I can’t wait to hear all about it. Um, can I come over next time you make blueberry pancakes?

Reply

I’m a newbie triathlete — only done 2, but I am signed up for two more this summer. WIth two kids under 6, I can only swing training times for a sprint length, but that’s ahrd enough for now! No sub 3 hour marathons for me, no thanks, my goal is a sub 30 minute 5K at the end of my triathlon. Craig is inhuman!

Reply

WOW, that is awesome. Kathi, you are rocking it and I totally want to hear about the two you do this summer….please let me know how it goes.

Reply

I met my best friend when we were a year old so we’ve known each other over 24 years!

I’m craving a burger too but we don’t have a grill yet so unless I want to go spend money on a restaurant burger I won’t be having one for a while :(

And yay for popcorn being so healthy! Totally making some ASAP now.

Reply

I met my BFF in kindergarden… hmm… 29 years ago! We bought houses across the street from each other and now our daughters and husbands are friends too :) I also met my husband in a parking lot! On a Friday night when I was 18. Obviously where the magic happens!

Reply

That is SO cool and I love that you still live so close to each other, that is perfect. AHHH YOU DID, wow…those parking lots are great things;)

Reply

I saw that article and laughed hard. Fridays are usually date night at the movies. I always pound through popcorn with butter like a fiend – I think it really helps my long runs on Saturday (by the way)! The article totally justified my Friday nights!

Reply

That is AWESOME!! I am totally going to have to copy your night before a long run ritual:)

Reply

I just finished my first triathlon on Sunday! Training for a half-Ironman in June, and I would be ECSTATIC if I finished that in under 8 hours! Alexander is an incredible athlete!

Reply

that’s so neat that you are still best friends with the girl you met when you were so young! Aaaand you guys are pregnant at the same time!

As for my best friends, I met one in highschool and a couple in college. I recently caught up with a couple, it was so nice that they got to meet my little baby girl! :D

Reply

I am not friends with my old BFF at all – she left me when I got pregnant: true story. We met in kindergarden.

I could never eat a burger bunless and I love movie popcorn, but try to eat it plain ;)

Reply

WHAT?!?! That is so awful, I can’t even imagine!

Reply

some people are just very self involved and it was too much for her ;) lol obviously she wasn’t a very good friend and now I have better ones, so all worked out! :D

it is nice when you have friends having babies when you are though :D

I saw this awesome infographic about running on Greatist.com and thought you would love it! They even have the code so you can repost it on your blog. It seemed like lots of good tips!

I met my best friend on the first day of high school, and we are still so close. I have never done a triathlon (and, to be honest, have no inclination to do so) but my partner does ironmans. I never realised until I met him what an insane amount of work goes into those things; full respect to anyone out there who does them! As far as late night snacks so, I love carrots/ bell peppers/ cucumber dipped in hummus, yoghurt with a little fruit or even a small bowl of oatmeal.

Reply

I have had the same best friend for 18 years. We don’t always see each other a lot but we’ll always be best friends.

My hubby and Grandpa completed a triathlon last year. I was so proud of them. My Grandpa was 75 when he did it. Talk about motivating!

Reply

I’m such a runner that I haven’t gotten around to swimming and biking, but I’d love to try a tri (haha) one day. Although, the outfits aren’t so cute!
I always always get the muchies at night. Some great snacks: 100 calorie bags of popcorn (cause I’ll eat the whole bag no matter what size), pretzels dipped in peanut butter (again, preportioned PB so I don’t eat the whole jar), greek yogurt, and I always eat 4-5 Cuties since they’re filling and time consuming to eat. And I’ll be honest, I usually eat a 6-pack of Oreos before bed but I figure it’s great motivation to get off my butt and run the next day :)

Reply

Craig Alexander is crazy! That’s so awesome!! I’d love to do a tri but swimming that much would sink me. :)

Late night snacks – cold cereal and milk always works for me!

Reply

I have done three sprint tris at my local Y. They are so fun and they are how I got into running in the first place. I signed up to train for the first one and learned that I loved to run! I have hopes to do an Olympic distance tri in September (mostly because it sounds so much cooler than a sprint tri) and maybe a half ironman next year.

I should confess that I was a swimmer in high school so that sort of gave me a head start on what people find the hardest part of the tri, but I completely suck on the bike and am working on improving that. I do have a friend that has done the same tri with me and she taught herself how to swim watching youtube. Seriously you can learn anything on there!

Reply

I met my best friend when we were 6th grade and we’re still super close many years later!

My boyfriend and I are both runners and we’re training for our first triathlon in June. It’s been a lot of hard work (especially since couldn’t swim a stroke in October) but I’m super excited about it! I’m not sure exactly what made me want to do it… It was a HUGE challenge given that I couldn’t swim (and when I say I couldn’t swim, I’m not like most people who say it, but who really mean they’re not STRONG swimmers… I literally was not allowed in the deep end when I started swimming in October and the lifeguards would follow me up and down the pool, and I’d hack up water at least 10 times per practice ) I did it because it will be the most unbelievable feeling to have gone from THAT to finishing a triathlon, which I WILL do. And I when other people are doubting themselves, I’ll be able to tell them they can definitely do it if I could!

Reply

Just ate mid-afternoon ice cream in your honor. Xoxo

That guy is Superman. You cannot convince me otherwise!

Reply

I met my best friend when I was 19 and I could not stand her! It was a strange beginning, but we are “soulmates.” :) We only get to see each other about 3 times a year if we are lucky.

I want to do a tri this year- sprint of course! Above mentioned BFF wants to do it together.

Dream dinner is sushi as far as the eye can see, followed by exactly $8.24 worth of fro-yo.

Reply

First, I love honey mustard dressing, it’s my absolute favorite!!! My best friend and I met when we were 14 and are going on 9 years strong! Except she’s moving to Texas in June for a job (she’s an engineer like Billy!) but we’ll make it work.

My current dream dinner has been buffalo chicken salads–I cannot get enough! I love air popped popcorn late at night, it fills me up but doesn’t make me feel guilty :)

Reply

I can’t get over the parking-lot thing! Maybe I should think twice before running errands all day in my gross running clothes… nah ;)

Reply

Anyone who completes the Ironman triathlon is amazing already. That guy is… just something beyond compare!
A dinner I’ve been dreaming about is actually any all-you-can-eat salad bar with a wide variety of toppings! I will have to try your cottage cheese topping one of these days :)

Reply

I met my bestie when we were four. She’s my sister more than a friend!

I love love love your blog! And p.s. your photo taking skills are great!

Reply

I need to eat popcorn more often! Now if only they would come out with an article like that about Oreos and ice cream…!

Reply

um this made me so happy because I literally eat popcorn every single day. Like I am not even kidding. I am like a baby with they’re bottle except for me it is popcorn. Most nights it is kettle corn but every once in awhile I mix things up with the buttery stuff. ha ha! Sorry for the long pointless comment but I just am so happy about this article.

Have an amazing day Janae!

I met my bestie when I was 9 years old. I just flew out to Utah to see her for her birthday (we wrote on your blog about it because we like you and we like your blog :) Our meeting story is pretty darn cute but I should let her tell you that in person. Aren’t you in Utah too?

Reply

Met my bestie in college, but still have some really close friends from elementary years that I love.

I try to limit my late-night snacking to protein…cottage cheese, greek yogurt, protein shake. Not very snacky, but it fills me up.

Reply

The most amazing thing about his win is that he had enough energy to raise his arms at the end! What a race!

Lately I’m on a pretzel streak for snaking. Even better dipped in pb!

Reply

I met my best friend when I was 15.I had met him before but when I was 15 I found out that he is my best friend(actually he is my cousin!).
We both are martial fighters(my sport is Wushu(Sanda)). So we see each other 3 times a week.
You know,I’m a fond of eating and I like most of foods But maybe I’m dreaming about roast turkey.
For your friend,I think having a glass of milk with some dates will help.
All of you know about benefits of milk. This snack does not let her get hungry
and it is light enough to let her sleep comfortably.
But tell her that after eating the snack she must wash her mouth because if milk remains in her mouth, it will destroy her teeth.

Reply

I have the late-night snacking problem, too. I have a bowl of low-calorie cereal (usually Special K) and the some hot tea before I go to bed. That usually helps. I met my very best friend when I was 21. She was 19 and we were instantly inseperable. I introduced her to my brother and he married her 5 years later. So she’s now my sis-in-law! I wish I could see her more often but she lives 4 hours away. We still talk on the phone EVERY SINGLE DAY.

Reply

I’d take a baked potato over a hamburger bun any day! I’ve been craving my grandmother’s type of home-cooked meals. pot roast, potatoes, carrots, etc, all cooked together. my BFF and I have known each other since we were 5, we’re still friends and get to see each other every now & then, but we’re always in touch via text, email, etc. :)

Reply

I met my best friend when we were 2!!! Although we weren’t actually friends then, she claims I wouldn’t let her into my “group.” Haha, well we became friends later on! Although we looked EXACTLY alike when we were little and when my teacher gave us each a photo album after preschool with pictures of ourselves from the year, mine contained several of her…

Reply

My suggestions for snacks are: Greek yogurt & granola – the greek yogurt has protein that will keep you full, and granola is always delicious. Or a smoothie with fruit, yogurt/milk, nut butter, etc. The protein and fat to keep you full, and the fruit and extras will give you the sweetness if you have a nightly sweet tooth.

Reply

I always say a spoonful of peanut butter is a quick snack attack fix at any hour!! I met my bestest friend in 7th grade (we went to a private school that is 7th – 12th) we both had to stay late & wait for our rides to finish up football practice and we used to walk laps around the indoor track and talk about boys, what else!

Reply

Snack ideas!
Sweet: I think smoothies are amazing for keeping you full and also because it makes you feel like you’ve made yourself something special! Easy recipe: 1 banana, 1 spoon pb, 1/2-1 cup milk, tsp vanilla and cinnamon!
I’m also a big fan of a few squares of chocolate after dinner. Being happy is healthy, right?? :)
Salty: Few high-fiber crackers with cheese, Veggies and hummus

Ha, I like how in the interview, Crowie is like “yeah that hurt.” Geeze, under 8 hours for the whole IM is insane.

I’m a triathlete here! I love Olympic distance, and have a half iron in 3.5 weeks that I think I will like a lot. Not sure which I will like more. You’d Looooooooooooove a tri. You should start doing them.

Reply

My best friend and I met when we were 13 years old and we have been through some ups and downs and there was a period of years where we didn’t see each other but our friendship has stayed super strong and now I can’t imagine my life without her!

I have been best friends with my best friend since birth. Our moms are best friends so growing up we had no choice but to get along. She lives the town over from me so I didn’t always get to see her and that made our relationship so much stronger. We can outlast anything!!

Im even more excited because I am going to be her maid of honor in her September wedding!!!!

Reply

Yum, I love Oreos with ice cream too!!!

Reply

I’m a triathlete, and I like Olympic distance best–it’s long enough that you have time to think about it, but not so long that you’re dead after! I’ve never done a full Ironman, and currently foot injuries are keeping me from running, but someday I’d love to. I got into tris because I’m super competitive and love endurance sports, but stress fractures and messed up feet make ultra long runs a bad idea for me.

Reply

I met my best friend when I was 2 because our parents are best friends. It’s pretty awesome. I mean, I’ve known her longer than I’ve known my brother who is three years younger than me.

Daniel is definitely my best friend (I know, it sounds so cheesy, but it’s true) – we met when I was 15 and he was 19. We became friends and would hang out in groups, and I had the biggest crush on him! We started dating when I was 18 and he was 22.

Since I can’t have carbs & sugar right now, that’s all I dream about lol. That picture of oreos and ice cream is making me drool!

I haven’t tried a tri yet lol ;) …. but i really want to… problem is I’m a broke college kid who would prefer not to pay for a y membership to use the pool lol… My triathlon will have to wait til I get a big girl job and no tuition bills ;)

Gasp!! Isn’t that honey mustard with bacon dressing the bomb? I went through my bottle in a week. I put it on everything!
